Hello.
|
The region of Eirdexia was a typical trainer's region. Pokemon, wild and tame, wandered around the peninsula, and trainers and breeders and people of all professions often grew up wanting to be the very best, like no one ever was. It is, perhaps compared to some other regions, small, boasting only five gyms in its five largest cities, but still a proud, cheerful land. The one thing its residents preferred to ignore, however, was the forest that provided the north border. Limited exploration had been done, but the canopy left the area dark and treacherous, a perfect habitat for pokemon predators. Rumors claim that a deep chasm slices through the earth in the midst of the forest, caused by an earthquake long ago, but no proof has ever surfaced. The rest of Eirdexia's continent, in fact, was shrouded in mystery. Then, one day, things began emerging from the area near the forest. They were pokemon, or perhaps they had been, but they weren't... normal. Some were merely a different color, or with a few... strange features. Many seemed to share traits of two pokemon, or even more. But either way, many had physical deformities, or personality issues. Feral agressiveness was common, as was downright insanity. To many, these beasts were just plain terrifying. At once, the news spread around Eirdexia, carrying panic with it. What was happening with it? Was something supernatural afoot? Or even worse, humans? What was to be done about these strange pokemon? At once, the previously serene region was divided in views. One group, the Humane Alliance, demanded the pokemon be euthanized at once. After all, they were clearly suffering, and it seemed that no amount of surgery or treatment, even in the region's top PokeCenters, could cure them. Many set off to investigate the source of the mutations, but all seemed to disappear. Another group, the Adapters, were determined to work with these new pokemon, fascinated by their traits. Many were indifferent towards the source of the pokemon, though some still felt the need to investigate or stop the process. The third group, however, were more sinister. Known simply as the Advantage, they sought to use these pokemon for their own gain, driven by a sort of admiration for who or what had caused them. Many vanished into the forest, but some remain in Eirdexia, striving to collect these Anomalies, as they were called. They are strong enemies of the Alliance, and not exactly on good terms with the Adapters. So, where do you fall? What exactly is going on? It's up to you to find out. ------------ Profile forms/etc. coming later. |
