Hi, I'm reposting HPM here because we really want to get to beta testing it. We don't have all the graphics for the skin we'd like to yet, but that's not as important as seeing if our system will actually work. In the beginning there's mostly Pure Pokemon until they've been bred a lot. Eventually people will only be able to easily get mutations, unless they buy from another member(tip! keep purebreds!). So, right now I'm going to let people apply for beta. Send me a PM and I'll send you the url. I hope it's alright I do this. xD;; I didn't ask DNA.

Just to give you peoples some inspiration~~ so I can see some awesome farmable Pokémon! And a mega note: don't mix legendaries.... (Dratini is okay... just not ones that are 1 of a kind). They just wouldn't make it onto the farm >__> Unless you want to mix one as a special event type guy, but we need the basics first!
COW Miltank mixes. I did a Charizard/Miltank milk that gave Hot Milk, and a Trococoa/Miltank mix that gave Chocolate Milk! (I'll post those if I can ever find them on my old com). I also did a 'baby' Charmander/Miltank. Baby versions would be nice, but you all can start off by mixing interesting elemented Miltanks who give off interesting milk together!
BULLS Oh, as for bulls, if you want to mix Taurus or any strong fellow like Donphan or Rhyhorn, they can be farm labourers who till soil easily when hooked to a plough! And you can do mixes to help them work in difficult soil; an ice-mix for ploughing in winter, or a water-mix for ploughing the wet soils of farms near marshes.
Though like Yuri-chan said, breeding probably wouldn't be via a bull. Er, it's still being figured out. I'm in favour of a Miracle Potion-like thing....
CHICKENS Mix any obviously avian egg-giving Pokémon; Pidgey, Farfetch'd, Starly, Dodou even. Maybe if mixed with a Combee, they will give honey eggs! Or spicy eggs if it's a fire elemented mix.
HORSES Ponyta mixes mostly, or perhaps Girafarig or Stantler. Mostly Ponyta. Breed for speed here! Or breed for beauty. Horses are kind of a bonus in farm life, bred for beauty, competition and friendship. Basically you can mix anything. I did a Caterpie/Ponyta (Ponypie) and Butterfree/Rapidash (Butterdash). And Yuri-chan made an uber cute Ponyta/Rattata!
SHEEP Obviously the base for this is a Mareep. But maybe you mix an Aron with Mareep, and get steel wool! Or maybe mix a Lapras, and get a Pokémon with Lapras-shaped body that lives in water and gives soppy wool! Or a fire mix gives really warm wool. Maybe if you have a Drowsee with wool, the blanket sewn from it will make the sleeper sleep instantly! Or a Kadabra/Mareep mix means that the wooly Kadabra gives wool that PSYCHICALLY makes itself into a scarf all by itself~ there are lots of exciting possibilities here. But be careful about the electric mixes.... very staticy wool there!
Jumpluff mixes can also be used to make Cotton instead of wool. Think about it!
WATCH 'DOGS' Pets and/or dogs, they can keep your fields free from pesky bug Pokémon and other wild creatures! I include Pikachu and Raichu in this category <3 They'd be so cute guarding the field! And of course Growlithe, Houndour, Poochyena.... so enhance their useability by mixing them so they can have more than one role. A Grass-mixed Growlithe could encourage the farm plants at the same time as guarding them.
PIGS Okay, though not a part of the Harvest Moon games except as pets.... I think pigs should be on your farm! But we don't want to murder them for meat... sooo....? Pigs are great at eating weeds! No more weeding! So mix up those Grumpigs and Swinubs and see what happens! Maybe a Vulpix/Swinub mix burns the weeds, maybe a Geodude/Swinub mix eats ROCKs, not weeds. Make them useful! I think pig type mixes could also find rare Truffles in the forest!
HEALERS (Poison types?) Chansey! Useful on the farm? Probably! To fix all those scrapes! But make her even more useful by mixing her with a Poison type.... why? I was hoping that the Poison type Pokémon could provide certain medicines if their excretions were refined or mixed with wild herbs. A Chansey/Tangela mix could easily strap a hurt Ponypie down in order to stop them thrashing as she applies a salve!
PET TYPES If you get rich enough, stop thinking about farming and start thinking about raising cute pet types to win at the local fair! Like a Spinda/Piplup would WIN handsdown if I was a judge.
OTHER USEFUL POKEMIXES Shuckle - mixes into a Pokémon who can convert berries into jellies and the like! Spicy jellies? Hey yes!
Cherubi - is great at taking care of fruit trees! So are Exeggcutor, being so tree-like. Maybe mix them and see THE ULTIMATE FRUIT TENDER!
Bellossom & Roselia - tend to your rose garden <3 But imagine how cute you could make some other flower tenders, say a Teddiursa flower gardener?
Combee or Vespiquen or Gloom - hello instant sweetener! I mixed a pet farm cat from Gloom/Persian (Gloosian) who I named Honeycat, who made a sweet mixture for her owner <3
Scyther / Ursaring - and other really slashy/stroing Pokémon can be used in the forest for cutting down wood for trees and hauling it back!
ELEMENTAL TYPE ADVANTAGES:
For the elemental types there are (general) advantages to each. There are SIX main elemental types (Grass, Water, Electric, Fire, Ground, Ice) that correspond to the seasons and to different types of plants (in the game all plants are assigned one of these six main elements). Pokémon with any of these six main elements can help plants of the same element grow faster. The other elements have more exceptional advantages.
Grass Type - helps all plants grow.
Water Type - helps water plants grow, water garden, fish.
Electric Type - helps electric plants grow. plus, can you say power milking machines? Heh heh. Or an electric tractor~ if you get high tech enough on your farm an electric mix can help power ya!
Fire Type - helps fire plants grow, burns weeds. If can produce something (milk, wool, egg) will tend to make spicy.
Ground Type - makes ground plants grow faster, till soil, dig in mines.
Ice Type - helps ice plants grow, can do things in winter that can't usually be done in winter. If can produce something (milk, eggs, wool) tends to make cold things.
Poison Type - I was thinking that beside the medical aspect, those like Koffing with Smog ability could be like pesticides to deter pests from the field. Bonus!
Rock Type (and Ground) - mining experts extraordinar! As well as usually good at tilling soil.
Bug Type - great at gathering food from the wild. and at pollinating plants so they grow faster~
Dark Type - great at doing things at night, especially watching the herd.
Dragon Type - not extreme farming advantage, though they are prestigious, and if you mine with them you have a higher chance of finding jewels.
Psychic Type - can predict the weather and locate items (in forest, in mine).
Flying Type - there may be places that will only be reachable by flying a ridable Pokémon. Flying type are also the ones who produce edible eggs.
Normal Type - more advantage in beauty contests, great pets, help out around the house, are the only Pokémon who can learn to use human tools and equip them.
Steel Type - better at finding higher quality ores in mining, can help fix broken machinery.
Ghost Type - can dismiss dead souls that haunt your farm and can hurt your Pokémon and crops. also have a night time advantage like Dark.
Fighting Type - uhm, they're good at fighting, heh. And at carrying heavy loads, like wood! You need one to help build an extension on your house, (but the woodcutter can loan you one for cheap).

Mixes aren't as important because, as I said, we're starting with mostly purebreds. The members will do most of the breeding : D

Mixes are still awesome, but what's even moreso is, yes, Dex info. Because there's only the two of us right now. I try to create the movesets, whereas DNA handles pretty much all the rest of the info. Oh, but we decide which Pokemon go where together.
Yea, should probably update to Zeta, but I'd like to have a temp skin because I really don't like the default.

If I breed a Wooper with a Mareep, will I get a Wooly?
EDIT: No, wait, that doesn't make any sense. What is wrong with me now?

Wow... you totally would. Except with a different name. Like Woo... okay, I don't know. But it would look like a Wooly. Maybe we'll name it Marper. orz
