:OLD: First ride of new electric GSX-R By MCN - The TT-winning Agni electric bike gives a huge insight to the possible future of racing. MCN’s ex-250 racer go the first ride... Forget everything you know about riding a modern sports bike. Despite using a Suzuki GSX-R750 frame, forks, wheels and brakes the TT-winning Agni electric bike feels like it’s from another planet. In next week’s MCN (out September 30) we have one of the oddest test rides ever. Ex-250 racer and MCN’s World Superbike reporter Michael Guy said “Once you get your head around the lack of noise and lack of engine braking the Agni bike becomes enjoyable. "Riding precisely, using fast flowing lines, it’s possible to be fast – though ultimately it’s a GSX-R750 with the equivalent of 70bhp that weighs well over 200kg so it’s nowhere near as quick as a standard GSX-R.” |
