:OLD: By Basem Wasef, Ural ST Ditches the Sidecar for First Time in 60 Years Thursday September 17, 2009 The Ural brand has been synonymous with sidecars for decades. But only recently has the Russian manufacturer ventured away from the three-wheeled formula and allowed their BMW-like bikes to roll down the road unfettered. Hell for Leather scored some seat time in a two-wheeled ST prototype, explaining that though it's slightly heavier and less powerful than the competition from Triumph and Moto Guzzi, this Ural "...isn't a modern bike trying to recapture a bygone era, it's a bike from the past being produced right now." I took a strong liking to the Ural T sidecar when I tested it earlier this year, but wonder if the two-wheeled ST exudes the same mystique as the sidecar models... what do you think?
