Unlike the Goldeneye remake, which I have mixed feelings about, a remake of Snake Eater (my favorite video game of all time) is right up my alley.

Aside from those screenshots and a blurry gameplay video that's not really worth posting, we don't know a whole lot about it at this time. We know that it'll be exclusive to Nintendo's new 3DS handheld and will make use of the system's new stereoscopic technology (hence the game's official title at the moment; Metal Gear Solid 3DS: Snake Eater: The Naked Sample. Goddamn that's a long name).

From the screenshots, the game boasts better graphics, which seem to surpass Peace Walker's and the original Snake Eater's. It also seems to make use of Peace Walker's engine, with certain poses being lifted directly from PW. Not only that, but Co-Op may make an appearance, as the Co-Op Ring from PW is obviously shown in one of the screenshots, along with a second Snake player. No word yet on whether or not crawling will make a return, which was absent from PW, but I believe it will have to.

This is the exact same feeling I got one year ago, when Peace Walker was first announced. This means I'll be spending yet another year anxiously awaiting a "new" Metal Gear title, and I'll have to shell out for yet another new system. But whatever- this game will hopefully be awesome as hell.
