Rules General
- Have fun!
- Use your brain. Use common sense.
- Treat others as you wish to be treated.
- The general board rating is PG-13, though you may go higher, but only if you label your thread title to indicate such. There may be mature situations including but not limited to; substance abuse, sexual situations, violence, coarse language, etc. If you are younger than 13, I'm afraid you will be unable to register. I'm not going to enforce an age restriction beyond that, however. I will trust your judgement. Please be aware of that before joining.
- Similarly, I would ask you not to force others to make their characters participate in mature situations/scenarios if they specifically tell you not to in some form OOC. Respect others.
- Again, in relation, no negative actions towards users when they are out of character. This will provoke an unsafe environment, and this is not my intention. I want you all to feel safe and welcomed here, and I expect everyone to follow this rule closely.
- Please ask me if you have any questions. I won't bite, honestly.
Characters: Creation and Posting
- No character can be invincible! i.e. no character can withstand all forms of injury, or things like that without a specific and reasonable explanation.
- You may have as many canons/OCs as you want. <- Liable to change once we gain more members.
- Do not post another character's response or actions for them. i.e. 'Bob lunged for Bill's throat, seizing it and choking him to death.' You can't ignore the fact that Bill just might slip away from Bob before he has time to even think about choking him. Instead, try something like: 'Bob lunged for Bill's throat, attempting to wrap his fingers around it in a death grip.' This lets Bill have time to decide whether he's going to let his character be seized or not.
- When applying for a canon, it is expected that you have a good understanding and considerable knowledge of him or her. This will help you to play out that character as faithfully as possible to how he or she is portrayed in canon.
- No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus. These titles refer to characters that are 'perfect' in every aspect without any faults. Nobody's perfect! Not even princesses!
- Your character cannot be in more than three threads at a time. You must roleplay them exiting one thread and entering another to appear in more than three.
- Magic is around, but not everyone can do it. Only characters who are otherworldly, like witches or ghosts, for example.
Posting and Profiles
- When speaking OOC (out of character) in an IC (in character) thread, please bracket your OOC text in some way to differentiate from your IC text.
- Please don't use chatspeak (i.e. hi how r u doin lol lmao rofl wtf?!!11), especially in IC posts. I understand if you do it in a humorous manner (I know I do, how can I resist?), but when speaking seriously, it's better not to abbreviate at all.
- Please check your spelling and grammer. No one likes reading a post that could easily be done better by a ten year old. I know everyone has the ability to check spelling. Go to dictionary.com if you're not sure of a word's spelling. Also, remember, that proof-reading is different than spell checking, but both beneficial.
- Try not to post OOC too much in an IC thread. It's all right to speak OOC in them, just don't let that crowd the IC stuff. If you need to post OOC, try and add some IC stuff in the same post while you're at it. Or just use the cbox!
- Please don't post in different colours. Because of the different themes I’ve made for the board, the background colours vary.
- Please supply us with a list of the characters you play in your signature. Even better, put a link to each character's biography in there. This makes it easier for others to see which characters you play, and lets them get to know them right away by having a link to their biographies right there!
Finale
- When you have read the rules, please include this word in your character's biography: Pollywobbles

Just cleaned it up and made it nicer. Nothing drastic has changed though.

Thought I'd change it to three, just to get the ball rolling, y'know?

I decided to lower the rating, and allow mature content only when threads are labled.
