Dodge grinned. "Well, I gotta say I'm pretty fond of livin' too. So I'll leave the cuttin' to you, and you leave the flyin' to me, and everyone should get on just fine."

Yup. This doctor definately wasn't the typical Coreworlder. She had a sense of humor, for starters. Nell wondered how long she'd been in the black, but didn't want to go prying just yet. There'd be enough time between when they launched and when they reached the next planet for talking. Besides, Nell knew better than most that a lot of spacers had real rough pasts, and were a little touchy about being asked.

She was glad when the blood-drawing part of the exam was done. Bleeding from a cut was one thing, bein' bled was something completely else. She flexed her arm to rid it of the lingering feeling of the needle under her skin. "I'd be a piss poor pilot if I did have troubles with coordination, now wouldn't I?" She replied to the doctor's question. "And I can see the target at the end of a shootin' rage real clear, so no troubles with my eyes."
