"Well, that's what doc's do, innit?" She responded, grinning. "If they're not cuttin' at ya, they're bleedin' ya. Gorram unnatural is what is is." The wide grin and joking tone made it pretty clear that the spacer was joking - trying to see if she could get a rise out of the birdlike little doctor. She blinked in surprised as the doctor flitted about the room, darting back and forth between the medical equipment like some kind of hummingbird. Huh... Nell wondered if the woman hadn't been sampling some of her own 'uppers'. She strode deliberately over to the exam table, her firm, heavy footsteps an amusing contrast to the other woman's movements. She sat down, resting one elbow on her knee, and stuck out an arm. "All yours, doc. Bleed away." |
