"Is there any other point to which you wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime."
"The dog did nothing in the nighttime."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

Gryphon set down her book and pinched her eyes. It was late, and she was getting a headache. Yes, she could have been using a reader, but the glow would have aggravated the dull ache behind her eyes.

She couldn't go to bed yet either, not until she'd finished running her tests. As the new medic onboard the Solace, she'd insisted that each crew member get a full check-up and blood work. The last of it was going through now- God, she missed techs. Back when she'd been with the Alliance, there had been people who would do all of these tedious tests for her.

On the other hand, she had quite emphatically disagreed with certain Alliance policies. She was better off out here, making her own way. Even if it meant that she had to run her own tests and bloodwork.

The doctor slid off her stool and went to go find something for her headache. She had at least another hour or two of work left to do- best if she were concious and not suffering while she waited...
"I'm an optimist. That may be a crime to you twisted so-and-sos, but it keeps me from goin' crazy."
