Wolf's Rain

"They say there's no such place as paradise. Even if you search to the ends of the earth, there's nothing there. No matter how far you walk, it's always the same road; it just goes on and on. But in spite of that, why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me, it says "search for paradise..."

Wolf's rain, created by Keiko Nobumoto, is an excellent anime with a creative story, beautiful artwork, and interesting characters. The anime has a total of thirty episodes [twenty six anime episodes, and four original video animations] and there are also two manga volume adaptations. It also features a stunningly beautiful soundtrack written by Japanese composer Yoko Kanno. Wolf's Rain is definitely one of my favorite animes, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the focus to be more on dark, subtle plots and character development rather than action.

Wolf's Rain is set in a post-apocalyptic world where many of the people now live in poverty. In this world, wolves have supposedly been extinct for two hundred years, but in actuality, they have managed to survive by hiding themselves and taking human form. According to legend, when the world comes to an end, paradise will open, but only the wolves will have access to it. Most humans believe this only to be a fairy tale, since most believe the wolves to be eradicated.

The story centers around Kiba, a white wolf who has spent most of his life searching for paradise. Kiba, along with his companions Tsume, Hige, and Toboe, seek Cheza, the artificially created flower maiden who was created to open the way to paradise for the wolves. Cheza is also searched for by the nobles, which are the highest level of humans. The nobles wish to open their own version of paradise by using Cheza, and quickly become opposition to the wolves. The story gradually becomes more complex as it unfolds to what many consider to be a fantastic anime.

Opening Theme - Stray
Ending Theme - Gravity

Very Nice Opening post, from what I have seen and read I like the manga better than the anime, but that is just me.

Thank you for the compliment!

Well, the first manga volume is very similar to the anime as far as the story goes, but the second volume branches off into a whole different storyline of its own. Because of this, I try not to compare the manga to the anime. Personally, I really like the art style of the manga more than anything. XD

By the way, if anyone who I know wants to borrow the manga, feel free to ask. =D
