Otacons Otaku News Feed

2nd March 2009

Still not had any replies from MERKENT on MGOF, but i will sorts some games out. I had a lot of uni work to do so, but now I'm free to sort out stuff.

1v1 League seems to have died off because of this little mid-week coup d'état. I'd like to try and sort some more matches out soon.

Currently OO is positioned...

17th Total Reward Points with 1924250 rwd
(was 18th last week with 1805650 rwd)
39th Grade Points with 1647 BB+
(was 43rd last week with 1545 BB)
60th Activeness with 55578
(was 59th last week with 53906 )

Survival Rounds -3810
Survival Wins - 2492

Could we try and get all clan members on the forum to make communication easier. Thanks.

ps3 hard drive

I bought a 320gb, but the 4 screws on the original internal drive are impossible to get off. I don't know what I can do, I have a box with a wide selection of different tips, none of them work and 2 of the screws are somewhat stripped as a result, I've tried pliers but they can't grip them at all and they're so tightly screwed in there's no hope.

I read loads of other people have had this problem... When you cannot have a big games collection without upgrading the hard disk because of forced game installs, they should make it easy to take the screws off or sell the cage somewhere. Has anyone else upgraded their hard-drive and how did they get the screws off?

Isn't it possible to buy another "metalbox" like the one in the ps3? If it's impossible to remove the harddrive.

Can't be to expensive.

Couldn't you just delete the game installs of games you don't play anymore? No idea how to get to help sorry.

Yeah but that is annoying, especially when games like GTAIV have had updates, and I will want to play them again. I ran out of space before mgs4 was released and since then every time I get a new game I have to remove other stuff. I stuck it back in and it's working fine.

Some other people have said if you contact sony they'll send you a replacement cage, which is great, but the problem then is that the 60gb drive is stuck with a cage on it and can't be put in an enclosure and used as an external. Plus that takes 2 weeks.

well, you could just connect a USB to the ps3 and move some of the gamefiles you won't use atm to get room for the new ones.

there should be specific shit to unscrew it with, i lost the page but *shrug* if you goto any third party PS3 repairs, they'll surely have replacement "metalbox" things about.

I have a 250gb external hard drive that I backed everything up to yesterday, though it's now out of date since I've been playing farcry, midnight club and quantum of solace (both of which suck). I've tried searching for a place to buy a cage but can't find any, going to phone sony customer support and ask for one later.
