Name: Lairi Estland S Name: Lairi Age: 19 Origin: Upper Jeuno Nation: Bastok Eyes: Steel Grey Hair: Black Appearance: An average sized hume female with short hair cropped at the base of her neck with a small ponytail in the back. She is slimly built with slight curves and the pale, smooth skin of one unused to hardship. Her angular heart-shaped face bears slight freckles and thick lashes surrounding her multi-hued hazel eyes. Personality: Usually she is an energetic, enthusiastic girl that bears her goals with single-minded determination. Standing out and making a name for herself is at the forefront of her mind, and guides all of her actions with a heavy hand. Inwardly though despite her inner energy, she is lonely and lost with no real confidence and seeking acceptance from the world as a whole. History: Lairi is the sixth and youngest daughter of Colene and Jelt Estland, wealthy merchants whose family has been running ore and other trade goods between the cities since before the war. Coming from a family of means, all of her sisters have established themselves in someway or another that has made her parents proud. Two of them had become healers, working in the near by temple, One had become a ducal guard, working in the gardens, and the other two had married into wealthy families that secured the family fortune for generations to come. The only one that showed no drive or potential for anything was her as the youngest. Growing up she had never wanted for anything but attention. With her five older sisters showing such potential, she was often forgotten and left playing by herself or being cared for by their housekeeper. At fifteen, she was already spending time in Lower Jeuno at the Merry Minstrel, drinking and watching the performances of both the bards and dancers. The artistry of the performing arts captivated her, the idea of being at the center of attention and making others happy through her actions struck a cord with her, and gave birth to a small dream, the first she ever really had. It was quickly shattered though, as when she hit seventeen, one of her fathers business associates caught her hanging out at the tavern, and reported it immediately to her family. Since that day, she was looked on shamefully by her parents, and talked down to by both them and her sisters. Her oldest sister, whom had become a priestess of some authority due to her immaculate and strict nature, offered to take her youngest sister into the fold to “straighten her out a little” at their parents’ behest. The two years that she had spent at the temple were the worst of her life. Her reputation preceded her and rumors of all kinds had spread about her character, causing the priests to be stricter with her. Once she was nineteen and back home for the Doll Festival, she gathered her things and ran off, hiding in a trade caravan heading to Bastok. With no money, no home or no friends, she has slowly started to learn to take care of herself, with only her own two hands to rely on. |
