Well i met up with Bassaddict and scotty and a few of their pals and they are a great bunch of guys!! The weather was good to start,,until the RAIN!!lol...I got soaked for the first2.5 hours outside,,then i shacked up with a dude Morris who's a pretty cool cat too! Slow perchin,,i caught a few small buggers and Scotty and Jessie caught 6 or so and threw them back. Then they moved 20 yards or so and HOLY SMOKES!! they just slayed the perch,,like 20 and ALL GOOD SIZE... I ended up catchin a half dozen with a couple decent ones. Here are some pics of today...sorry the pic quality is CRAP,,but my camera sucks and it was soaking wet from being in my pocket!LOL... Thanks Fellas!! Good time today,,we'll have to do it again!...without the freezing rain stuff..lol these pics don't do the fish justice...they were all awesome size. 2 of those that Scotty and Jessie are holding are darn close to 15 or 16 inches!! here's a pic of my biggest and it's darn close to 13...and there's were BIGGER!!! i should add that these numbers were the one kept not the sum of all caught.

We measured the one in my right hand and it was a 14", the perch were so aggressive at that point that we didn't even need a minnow, just the jig heads we were using BARE!!!! Also, the perch were following right up to the hole and just waiting for the bait to drop back down. Awesome day. |

Thanks for the invite bigfoot we had a blast I am glad we had 3 portables out there or it could have been very miserable!!! Like Scotty said about the aggresivness of those fish today,I have perched there many times before sight fishing from a hut and I have never seen a feeding frenzy like that before!!!! I was pulling a fish up and just putting a tear drop jig back down baitless and the jumbos were coming right to the hole for it!!! it was insane for a few minutes. Anyways here are some pics from my dry kitchen LOL This is Scotty with his 14" perch  This is his 14" perch   And a couple of Scotty and my combined catch that my family quickly consumed for supper with a bit left for tomorrow! I got one of those rapala electric fillet knifes for christmas and did it ever work awesome at sawing up that mess of fish along with the help of my 3 year old and 2 year old lol! awesome guys!! I've fished Couch for perch and have seen feeding frenzies like that a few times!! Those pics of the perch thread I posted before were one day..I took home around 40 in 45 minutes or so..lol..and it was the same thing...before my hook was 2 feet down I'd get a smack! EVERYTIME !lol.. ..but those yesterday were FOOTBALL perch!! Awesome! Good thing there were 3 shacks forsure!! Or I'd be a fish myself!lol...thanks again for your company...you guys are great dudes to fish with...hunting next! Edited by bigfoot, Feb 18 2008, 08:48 AM.

Some real nice perch, congrats guys on a nice day besides the rain cloud. I go to the narrows for ice out perch but havenever stepped on the ice on couch. |
