Well on saturday July 11th i went for the rules meeting and supper with my fishing partner along with the other 65 teams in the tourney. Met up with a few of the other fisherman i know and chatted about some spots and lures that were working then sat back down to BS with the table some more. A guy comes over shakes my hand and then we start to chat and honestly i had no idea who he was until i asked. turns out the guy dumping his wine all over me was Slick so we BS'd for a while until they started to read the rules and feed us. Me and my fishing partner left after the draw for the 12' lund boat was not in our favour. planned out morning pickup time and went home. Left in the morning to a little bit of wind, got to the launch site, had our boat inspected, launched out boat and waited. A little after the launch the wind seemed to pick up from about 10km/h to about 40km/h which made the lake really rough and it seemed to stay that speed or higher the whole day. 65 boats braving 2.5-4 foot waves is a win in my opinion or just diehard nut cases We managed to pull in 9.02 lbs for a 26th placing. Winning weight was 14.98 lbs and big fish was 3.98 lbs Just some of the boats waiting for the countdown to take off ![]() ![]() ![]() The Tourney organizer (Mahumba on here) with no watch ![]() Teams 1, 2 and 3 taking off 10 seconds apart ![]() Somewhere around Teams 15, 16 and 17 taking off ![]() More boats taking off ![]() ![]() The waves at about 2pm and my fishing partner trying to control the boat ![]() Better picture of the waves ![]() Waiting to get weighed in at 4pm ![]() ![]() The boat loaded and getting ready to go and check out the leader board with everyone else ![]() The leader board. Great set of pics. I was on the lake yesterday and fished in 5-7 footers but they were more rolling than choppy like in your pics.

What is with the winds in July? Great pictures. Looks like Gord Ellis and Gene Balic won eh. Good stuff for them, they certainly have paid their dues over the years. |
