I use this at fishing and hunt camp along with a few other slow cooker recipies. I am usually starving when I get back to camp and I just want to eat and relax. this is prepared in the crock and refrigerated the nite before. 1 slow cooker 1 lb ground venison or ? 1 675 mil jar pasta sauce 1 1/4 cups water 1 large onion chopped 1 sweet pepper chopped 1 3/4 cups ricotta cheese 1 3/4 cups mozza or blended cheese shredded 1/4 cup parmesan grated cheese divided 1 egg 2-3 cloves garlic crushed or 1 tbl spn garlic powder 9 uncooked lasagne noodles In a skillet mix meat, onion, pepper and garlic, cook until done, drain fat if needed. Stir in pasta sauce and water set aside. then mix the ricotta,1 1/2 cups shredded cheese, 2 tbl spns of the parmasan and the egg together. [not with the meat sauce] Spoon 1 cup of the meat sauce into bottom of slow cooker, cover with 3 noodles broken to fit, then 1/3 of the cheese mix 1/3 of the remaining meat sauce repeat until ingrediants are used the meat sauce should be on the top when you are done. cook on low heat 4-6 hrs or until liquid is absorbed [do not cook on high] when ready to eat sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup shredded cheese and parmesan on top allow to melt serve and enjoy |
