For the past few weeks I have been catching a lot of bass while in the spawn and post spawn while the males were on their beds...but now all the bass are gone from the shallows and I can't seem to catch any of any size:( All I can catch are 10 and 12 inchers. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I can find the bigger bass or how to catch them now. yelo fish

Thanks

You did not mention what type of water you are fishing lake or river but usually smallies move deeper in summer. In lakes look for structure such as boulders, weed lines, submerged trees ect in 15- 30 ft depths. the inside corners of sharp drop offs also hold fish these fish will also suspend over even deeper water in larger lakes with schools of bait fish. I find that in rivers these fish will hold near bridge abutments and in the deeper fast water again near structure such as boulders at the bottom of dams, also try inside deep pockets or eddys along the banks .

As for bait [live] crawfish, leeches, worms, frogs, minnows , they all work. I have the best luck with minnows in a 3-4" size around weeds and rocks, crawfish is a close second leeches worms and frogs work well in rivers so do the minnows heck just see what is around naturally and use that bait. spinners such as mepps, minnow imitations in the 4" plus size, jigs with plastics in different styles and size also work well. Sorry somehow I missed your post or I would of replied sooner.
