That just has to suck. We had a little bit of snow and high winds for the opener but the rest of the weekend was great.

Yes it was cold but we were prepared. I always insist on bringing winter gear you don't bring it you don't go, the boys thought it was over kill until this spring, then they were dam glad I make them bring it. The first morning out we cut thru 1" of ice in some areas [with the boat] lots of snow and ice on the shores. It was cold enough that the first day at the cabin,[day before opener] with the wind at about 30 ks my boys loaded the cabin from the trailer while I went to town for fresh foods. They put stuff in the outside fridge [on the porch] including some water in the cube trays in the freezer for our drinks, I went out later to get some and they were only half frozen I was thinking the dam fridge dosen't work as well as last year until I looked at the fridge a bit closer and it was not plugged in the temps were cold enough to make ice inside a porch in an insulated freezer. The camps water lines also froze this was a damper because if it could not be fixed the trip would of been over due to sanitation troubles, but the camps owner [a very nice lady] and staff worked hard and after 10 hours of fighting the wind and cold managed to thaw the lines, we kept the water on at a trickle to prevent them from freeing again for a few days until it warmed up a bit. I have a few more tales to tell. I will post them soon, the next will be a take on Americans. Stay tuned .
