Listen to Go-fer she knows what she is talking about! Look at that avatar. :beercheer:

Isn't it amazing how fish, reptiles and birds can eat things almost as big as they are....lol.

I don't know about the hole throwing big baits for big fish thing. I go more with the match the hatch theory....Seems to work for me....I like smaller baits in general but will throw the bigs guys on the right occasion thus matching the hatch...

Cheers !!!

Every musky I have caught has been on 6" plus baits. 6" being the minimum many come
on 8"+ lures. The bigger the better I think.
IMHO

im gonna use some big bait to catch big pike in my neck of the woods cause it seems to work the best and they love it, mind you i have some huge pike get got on some pretty small lure also, so i guess you never know what you might get.

yup...go big!! big fish don't want to exhert to much energy on a tiny meal,,,it takes them more to catch it than digest so BIG wins in my book...sure you'll catch the occasio9nal big one on small,,,but for consistently big Jack,,,go big baits!

Early season I will tone it down a bit in size due to the new hatch but as the season progresses I bulk the size of bait up.

Go big or go home. I have had tons of big pike grab a 2 lbs walleye more than once in one day growing up in Ignace. But those big pike would not touch a small twister. If I had thrown a big sucker minnow down then its game on. I agree with the match the hatch as well to a certain degree but more for trout or bass, big pike and musky can't go wrong with going big.
