![]() The above picture of one of the largest deep sea Sein mouthed Ribbon Fish ever photographed was taken at a depth of 2000 feet with a high speed infra red camera the only way research bioligests could capture the pulse of light thats either used to attract small creatures for the fish to eat or to attract a mate. You can see the first pulse at a distance then the spectacular close up pulse, This type of display by the Ribbon Fish was previously unknow to researchers so they need time to study the pulse of light that the fish emits to learn more. Also of note on this expidition was the discovery of more tha 340 new species never before seen by man. |
