There is a need to protect gear, clothing and people from the hooks on rigged fishing rods when they were being transported inside the boat or vehicle with the passengers or bundled together in the back of the truck where all sorts of other gear is kept. Pre-formed wrap-on foam pipe insulation is available in most hardware stores for protecting water pipes from freezing in cold weather. This insulation comes in various diameters to fit various sizes of pipes. It comes already split along the edge. Use scissors or a knife to cut a piece the length of your lures. Just spread the open edge and snap on your rod where it will stay in place. 2 1/2 inch insulation is perfect for covering a Kwikfish lure and the treble hooks. One inch and 1 1/2 inch diameters are good for spin-n-glow rigs and smaller lures and spinners. Its lightweight, synthetic, durable, and best of all keeps all the rods from getting tangled with each other or scratched up. ![]() |
