The PWT tour has decided to try their first ever artificial bait only tournament at Wabigoon Lake in Dryden for the 2008 tournament season. I think this will create some interesting challenges for the anglers and perhaps help raise the bar for the more experienced anglers to shine. I am all for it. Wabigoon is a great choice due to its healthy population of walleye. I think it is significant that they choose our backyard for this inaugural event and I hope it becomes a regular occurrence on the PWT tour.

What a bold move. I think it will add a lot to walleye fishing. Tournament anglers will of course still utilize many methods currently employed but you would think the guys that are adept at trolling and casting artificial baits and those that have ability with jigging plastics will have an advantage over the pro's whose mainstay is live bait presentations. I'm not sure how effective a slip boober would be with a lively minnow or worm. I think this is really cool. :fish jumping:
