4ST EYES
Well I'm back from my annual trek after some "eyes" in the Chapleau area. Had a blast and caught plenty of fish but no real lunkers this year. The season is way behind schedule and the larger fish were in the shallows instead of their normal deep holes. When I say shallows I'm talming 2-4 feet of water behind rocks or under weeds (even on hot sunny days). Strange, really strange! Well I promised some picks so here are a few.

Here are a few limits of nice 16 - 21 inch eaters (only 1 over 18" each)

Of course after catching them you need to prepare them for the feast.

Now after a week of eating pickeral every day You sometimes want something a little different. Well one of our guys had to go out for a few days and when he returned he brought these giant bass baits. We should have told him there are no bass in this particular lake. What to do??? We ate them!!!

Now to relax after a fine meal.

Now on the final night (or what we thought was going to be our final night) ya just have to let off a little steam (or smoke) and bid the lake a proper farewell.

Later that night thunderstorms rolled in and continued until six the next evening so we had to spend an extra day on the island. The good part was we also had an extra three hours fishing the next night before another weak front rolled in. All in all a great time.
