Gesso Island would loom in the distance for the small vessel which Valta would be travelling on. Rear Admiral Emilie Solarie had sent for her, among other individuals scattered throughout the Blues and Grand Line. Of course, these were mere invitations and not orders, however the offer of punching pirates and solving crime would probably be enough to lull a number of them. She wished to create a group, a Strike Team if you will to solve issues that many other groups might struggle to. One might ask why she didn't do it herself, but that... Hadn't been asked yet.

As the boat would inevitably grow closer to the island, a single individual would become apparent, stood at the waters edge. Her white uniform might have blended in with the island's prevailing colour scheme, but the red pads on her shoulders and her bright orange hair would no doubt give her away. To elaborate, she wore her Rear Admiral jacket, alongside an overly unbuttoned white shirt, and a white skirt reaching just past her knees. Below this she wore black leggings and a pair of black boots. Her wild bright hair was currently tied back in a ponytail, which reached halfway down her back. Her rather pretty face was currently obscured by a pair of sunglasses. A fairly lengthy sword hung at her hip, alongside a pistol. Interestingly, the closer she grew, the taller she appeared to be. Emilie Solarie had a lot of leg.

The Rear Admiral stood patiently, quietly watching the boat, aware of the one she had summoned already. Her hands remained in her coats pockets. It was only when the vessel finally approached the docks besides her that she would begin to walk towards it, waving to the ship and its inhabitants.

Valta looked out towards Gesso on the small vessel she was on. All in all it was a rather anti-climatic return to the sea of her birth, the Grand Line. She couldn't tell you where the island she was heading towards was in relation to the one she had grown up on, but she had learned at least enough from the Marines to know the difference between the various seas.

It seemed like the Grand Line was considered more dangerous than where she had previously been ferried around to. If that was the case then she should be able to handle herself fine. She had survived on an island by herself for a decade so she was only the normal amount of worried about whatever it was she was supposed to be doing here. That lack of excessive worrying barely even accounted for her newfound stretchiness.

Once the ship arrived, Valta stepped off of it and approached the Read Admiral, saluting, before stringing together an uncharacteristically long string of words. ”Ensign Valta, reporting for duty!” She stood there awaiting orders, and perhaps recovering from saying what can be loosely described as a full sentence. It wasn't as if she couldn't speak at length, she just didn't. Years of isolation and fighting to survive seemed to instill in her a want for brevity when it came to speaking. If she could get the point across in less words than it took others to that was more time to fight.

That didn't extend to official Marine statements though. She had enough respect of the system to follow it. The wild girl was surprisingly tame like that.

"Ah, Ensign Valta, I'm glad that you could make it. I take from your appearance that you're accepting my offer? Or, at the very least wanting to ask a few questions."

She smiled, looking down at her fellow marine, returning the salute. She'd had a look through Valta's dossier already, which is why she'd invited the young girl here in the first place. Not a very wordy one, but efficient, and with skills which would suit her team perfectly. Well, she was calling it a team, currently it was just one person, and currently she didn't even know if she'd accepted the invitation.

"Come, let's walk and talk. We've got much to discuss"

She offered, her hand outstretched towards a clearing in the trees. In the distance a small town could be seen. It was a fair walk away, but they had much discuss. Beginning to walk, the older marine continued to speak, wanting to break the silence as well as making up for the younger individuals lack of them.

"Where are my manners, I am Rear Admiral Emilie Solarie. It is very nice to meet you, and if you have any questions I'm sure you know what to do"

The concept of “accepting the offer” wasn't on Valta's mind. She didn't see what she had received as being an offer and it just being more orders. It was just an element of her overall lack of autonomy when it came to working for the Marines. It really seemed like her rough childhood as completely drained the girl of any since of leisure. As long as it had the prospect of punching pirates she was on board with whatever and wherever the Marines wanted her to do and go.

Valta began walking with Emilie as she motioned further into the island. Following into her usual instinct of following those that were higher in rank than her as there was at least a stated relation to the natural order that had been ingrained in her.

As expected she stayed silent in the walk prompting the Rear Admiral to have to break the silence. All Valta really did was give her a nod. She didn't have any questions yet. Well really she just wanted to know how punchy against Pirates she was going to be able to get but that would hopefully be explained shortly.

Perhaps even she'd underestimated the young ones usage of verbal communications. Emilie chuckled slightly to herself, her eyes darting between Valta, the distant town and the surrounding area. She huffed slightly to herself as she looked at the surrounding area, very interesting.

"Gesso Island, an interesting place. I can't say I understand the weather here myself, but I imagine you get the general gist of how it alters the entirety of the island. Colour is a rarity here, coveted by many individuals, some to a fairly violent level."

She allowed the last comment to linger for a moment, both to keep the young girl's interest but also to make note of the slight movement all around them, something only now particularly evident. Of course, her own attire wasn't all too bright, however both of them had rather bright hair and she'd heard mention of people having rather unexpected haircuts when visiting the island.

"As I mentioned, I'm putting together a team. However, I admit I would like to see how well they fare in their respective roles within the team before taking them under my wing so to speak. Ensign Valta, mind dealing with our unsavoury guests?"

As she spoke, a number of individuals sprung from the bushes around them, two from the left where Emilie stood, and three from the right where Valta stood. The Colour Capture Clowns, a rather brutish group inhabiting the island. They donned rather unsettling masks and wore rather colourful apparel. Scissors, small blades, small clubs and cans of white spray paint were all within their collection. Just like the weapons they carried, the individuals moved in a scissor, or pincer, like formation, one from each side charging in with their scissors at the ready to take presumably hair or clothing.

"Don't worry, I'll be fighting along side you"

She continued nonchalantly, glancing towards the man that was charging at herself. Seemingly without even a single motion from the Rear Admiral, the man fell to the floor, leaving the man that followed behind suddenly rather uncertain. Emilie simply smiled towards him, before turning to see how Valta would deal with her three assailants.

Valta continued to walk in silence as the Rear Admiral took it upon herself to void that was caused by the angry girl's quiet nature. That nature didn't keep her from being a good listener though as she paid attention to Emilie's comments on the island... as well as keeping an eye and an ear out for the slight movements that the two of them had noticed. Looking up at Emilie she nodded before turning towards the flashy attackers that she was meant to deal with.

Scissors. Valta had dealt with her newfound abilities enough to learn that while she was much more resilient, her skin could still be stabbed and cut. And those scissors could do those things. She needed to take him down fast, but doing so at this range would let the two behind him into her Devil Fruit power. So, she just needed to take them all down before they could adjust their plans for that.

Assuming a defensive stance she waited for the front clown to get closer to her. Clenching her fists she let the two of them fly forward at him, aiming at his torso from farther away then she should have been able to strike. ”Fury Double Fang!” Her double punch stroke true and sent the front thug flying back towards the other two.

Valta wasn't about to let the advantages that gave her go to waste as she ran forward to catch up to her outstretched arms, pulling them back and moving into a followup attack. ”Fury Fang Pack!” The Marine girl sent out a flurry of punches at the three thugs. When survival was on the line every decision had to be fast and meaningful. This would hopefully take down the three of them before they could handle her stretchiness. Sooner or later people would know she could do that and she needed to use the fact that it was a new ability to it's full effect until then.

Emilie watched with interest as the girl proceeded to deal with the three men rather quickly, launching the first one backwards and then pummelling all three with her fists. All three fell to the ground, not heavily injured but enough so that they were struggling to get up. The Rear Admiral smiled a little bit. She certainly was capable, both in planning out attacks and actually executing them. As she watched the fight come to a close, she noticed the man behind her beginning to flee. It was understandable, considering he no longer had numbers on his side, and how easily his allies had been taken down.

"Well, that wasn't so bad. Nicely done"

She held up her arm to prevent Valta from following the remaining guy who now jumped into the brush. With her other arm, she made a signal to the marines that had been distantly trailing them, pointing towards the unconscious clowns.

"You guys, mind taking them in for me? I'll catch up in a moment"

She then turned towards Valta again, lowering her arm as to allow her to pass, glancing briefly off towards where the man had run off to. She'd heard a little bit more about this girl, may as well put it to the test right?

"You're fairly good at tracking people down if memory serves correctly. Let's use that guy as a final test shall we? Please find him and bring him back to me, I'll be with the others over there"

She gestured towards a building at the edge of town, the marine base of the island. Just up ahead now were the marines, dragging along the individuals the two had just dealt with. Now Valta could test her other skills, aside from combat. After all, she wasn't about to bring mere fighters into her group. Everyone would have a role... Yes, this was working out rather well though, she had to admit. These thieves really had arrived at the perfect time.
