The corridor was small and seemed like an odd place to keep such an important piece of information. After all, with most of the island being part of it, did they really need to have it out of the way? Surely they'd just have a large room near the front dedicated to it, especially if other people wanted to read it. Though, maybe she was just a little on edge thanks to being filled with fear, and rightly so. Some random guy was leading her to who knew where. The steps downwards they soon met were rather steep too, which further made her wonder, but she opted to not say anything. Eventually they arrived in an actual room, where the still unnamed man walked over to the other side. In that time Scarlett quickly reached for her weapon, slipping it up her own sleeve. Sure, it wasn't loaded, but she could act like it was if needs be. After all... This room was empty, what was he-

"Oh, ok that's pretty cool"

The wall suddenly parted and revealed even more stairs. The man now in front of her began to speak of the scripture, as well as keeping the teachings a secret like she'd suspected. It seemed... Weird... However even she had been thinking of Bright Eyes earlier so perhaps this was a new instalment. Who had the time to create such a intricate hiding place though? She supposed she'd know with time if she was going to get to know these guys, and nodded her head politely towards the priest, before heading down the path.

"Such a gentleman"

She mumbled, assuming he wouldn't hear but a little too used to a bit of backchat with her superiors and fellow marines. She'd been scalded a few times for it, but it wasn't like they listened to her any other time. As she walked down the stairs she couldn't help but notice a noise. It was unclear to her what it was, but she was sure it was coming from the priest now behind her. She'd been walking with more distance before but now it was more evident... Peculiar. She made sure to keep an eye on the man, though she already had been to a degree thanks to her growing fear. She was going into a hidden basement, one which for all she knew could be where everyone was disappearing to. She gulped. If only Chrys was here, he'd be able to help surely. He seemed fairly strong after all.

Agnew ignored the comment. He had always assumed Marines would show respect for authority, and yet here was a marine blatantly disrespecting someone who was her superior – at least, he was if she was following through on her act completely. As they walked down the stairs, Agnew slid his empty right hand along the wall, pressing a hidden switch as he did so.

The doorway behind them closed.

At the end of the stairs, there was a dark room, lit only by torches along the walls. The stone here seemed to be made of a black material, perhaps onyx, instead of traditional stone. Strange mechanical pieces littered the floor, while more was stacked to the ceiling on rows upon rows of shelves. If one looked closely, they could make out the stain of dark red blood on stones near a table in the center. Though, if they did not know to look for it then they would likely miss it. That was the point of the black stones.

Agnew smiled. “Commander Scarlett, it was a pleasure to meet you.”

He lunged forward, intending on jamming the syringe into her back. If it penetrated, then the tranquilizer should begin to take action fast. Surely not even a well-trained marine could resist its effects for long.

Chrysoara stared at the man in front of him. He had just saved Chrysoara’s life. Why? Because of the bowing motion he had done at the grave? That was actually the reason he had been attacked?

Something was wrong in this village and Chrysoara couldn’t help but think he may have stumbled upon the source of the disappearances. The man acted like she hadn’t been in the wrong – which made him think that this wasn’t an isolated incident nor was she the sole perpetrator of these acts.

The man walked towards Chrysoara, with a hand held out. Chrysoara noted some sort of…madness in his eyes, though it somehow seemed restrained for the moment. He didn’t know if that made any kind of sense, but it was what he saw. It was almost as if the man’s eyes flickered with insanity.

Chrysoara reached out and took the man’s hand, allowing him to be pulled to his feet. He watched as the woman walked away, showing respect to each grave she passed. He wasn’t sure how to interact with this man. After-all, he had saved his life but clearly didn’t blame the woman. If the whole village was in on murder, would questioning this man be safe?

No. No, it would not. However, Chrysoara had to make a decision here and now. Did completing the mission matter enough to compromise his safety? The answer to that question was always yes. He was a marine and he would do what he was supposed to.

“Thank you for saving my life, sir.” Chrysoara said with a slight nod of the head. He made sure the nod was nowhere near as deep as the motion for the grave had been. He didn’t know their ways but he felt that something as small as that could trigger this man to attack as the woman had.

“I did not do it for you. I did it for her. We mourn the dead; we do not needlessly create dead.” The man said as he returned Chrysoara’s nod. Interesting. So, he felt needless death was against their principles and preachings. Chrysoara made a mental note of that. The most intriguing part for Chrysoara was the word needless. That meant that they weren’t above creating more dead if the situation called for it – as it evidently had before Chrysoara had shown the proper respect to the dead.

“I see. I think it’s best that I am up front with you. I am here investigating the disappearances of some Acolytes who worked beneath Decca Pelson. Have you seen any of them?” Chrysoara let the implied question linger in the air. He didn’t need to state it. Did you kill them? was the question.

Scarlett's breathing had increased in pace and she was sure that her heart was about to leap out of her chest. Just the sound of the door locking behind them was enough to make her panic. After all, she was now somewhere underground, with nobody aware that she was there, and the only other person was an unknown man that had elected not to give his name. Slowly as she made her way down the stairs she reached into her robe, her hand gripping at the pouch by her side and grabbing a single magazine. These things only held single shots but she wouldn't need much more. She then returned back to her state of arms within sleeves, appreciating the fact her actions were easily obscured from sight due to her being in front when walking. As her feet suddenly hit the stone floor of the basement, she slipped the magazine into place, timing just about as well as she could have to not draw attention to the action.

The room in front of Scarlett was filled with... Scrap metal and various broken contraptions? She frowned, taking note of a table up ahead, and various books around all of which had nothing to do with being a priest. Just from their names, they all seemed fairly... Technical. This didn't seem like the holy ground of the priests, this seemed like... A, uh, thing. She didn't know, but now she really was panicked.

Scarlett was beginning to feel a little dizzy from all this, and so when the man behind her finally spoke, instead of initially understanding his words, instead she screamed and sprinted forwards. His attack missed simply because she had forgotten he was there. In the heat of the moment she launched herself towards the table, and although it was fairly high, she still found herself able to land on top of it, albeit after smacking her shins into it and falling forwards. In fact, the momentum carried her over it and she managed to somersault onto her butt on the other side, giving her a moment to recollect her wits.

Commander? Was a pleasure? Those didn't sound like the words of a cheery bald man with a love for his religion! No, those sounded like the words of a guy that was a kidnapper! Her adrenaline had carried her away from the man, but now she couldn't help but feel like she was now sat on the floor, facing away from the danger, all alone... Her eyes widened and she pushed herself forwards, spinning and drawing her gun at the priest, her back hitting the wall which both helped her know that nobody was behind her, and also let her know she had nowhere to run... Brilliant.

Agnew grunted as Commander Scarlett flew forward and out of his reach. The woman pointed her gun at him with her back against the wall where she had ended up. The tall table stood in their way. Agnew hesitated, arm outstretched.

He had never had a gun pointed at him before. He was a technologically inclined priest. How the hell did he manage to end up in a situation with a gun pulled on him?

He began to back up, ever so slowly. Hopefully she wouldn’t notice as he inched away. “You can’t kill me. If you do, then you’ll be stuck in here. I closed the entrance – which doubles as the exit – on my way out. You’ll rot down here if you shoot me.”

The threat wasn’t entirely false. He had pressed the hidden button along the wall to close the door. He just hoped she didn’t realize that she could easily look for it herself.

“Your words are filled with honey but insinuate much, Marine.” The man said with a snarl. Chrysoara flinched and nearly fell backwards and onto his butt. The vehemence with which the man had suddenly spoke had surprised Chrys. Evidently trying to imply things wouldn’t work with this man. He seemed to want things to be more direct.

Curious. Chrysoara was used to people who preferred to hear things that weren’t’ quite the full truth. Chryoara shrugged.

“I didn’t mean any offense; however, you’re right. I was just attacked here. Do you think it is any wonder that I think that perhaps this village was involved?” Chrysoara asked, steeling himself in a way he was unused to. Merchants were smooth talkers, not brunt ones.

“At least you spoke your mind this time. No, we weren’t involved in the disappearances of some Acolytes. They are of our order and most of the time show proper respect for the dead. I do not think an Acolyte crossed us in many years.” The man spoke in a much slower and more calm voice this time. Chrysoara, however, was left to wonder. The man all but admitted that their village was not above murder. He – himself – had been attacked for not respecting the dead. Did that mean that he should arrest the members of the town that he knew were involved? Surely it couldn’t be all of them…could it?

Could he even arrest them if it were the entire crowd?

No, Chrysoara could feel in his gut that he wasn’t that insane. Picking a fight with these people wouldn’t bode well for him. He would make sure to report it to the Commander and have her send the report regarding it to the higher.

“I see. Well, thank you for your time.” Chrysoara said as he turned towards the path leading back to the Cactihedral. This was a waste of time.

“Before you go, Marine. There’s some armor that we do not wear. It has a marine logo on it. We would not be opposed to letting you take it. It belongs to the marines, just as the souls of the dead belong with the Almighty.” The man gave a small bow.

Chrysoara was intriqued. What was this armor about?

"I'll figure it out... Now drop your weapon!"

It was probably fairly clear how shaky she was at this point. She had her weapon ready but she wasn't even sure if she could pull the trigger on him. Despite pulling the trigger being a whole lot more detached than punching of cutting people, it still was something she didn't want to do if she could help it. Though... She also knew that when things needed to be done, they had to be done, as simple as that. But, she wasn't about to kill him like she expected her to, after all she wasn't a killer. She needed to knock him unconscious and get him back to the ship. Hopefully Chrys would be nearby and could help her if needs be, though somehow she doubted the priests would appreciate her dragging him through the building unconscious either... She didn't even have handcuffs on her, though she supposed a bit of rope would do the job.

"You weren't sent by him at all w-were you? You came here to... What, drug me? Kill me? What do you do down here?"

She began to walk forwards, her weapon still trained on him and not wavering for a moment, despite the shakes which had kicked in. She was petrified, and simply wanted to run, but the only place she could go was to where he was stood. She couldn't help but notice the fact that he was stepping back though, which made her uncertain if he had more sliding doors and the such around here. She couldn't escape without dealing with him, but similarly she had to deal with him if she wanted to get the job done. She'd been backed into a corner, her only option to take him in or kill him. If he made a move... She might not have a choice... But he seemed smart enough to go calmly, hopefully at least.

"I'm... Taking you in, and arresting you for the attempted assault of a marine Commander, and for questioning to do with... The recent disappearances around here."

The issue now was, how exactly was she to do this? She couldn't just approach him, even if he did opt to drop his weapon. There certainly was something to tie him up with, but what was the chances that he'd actually tie himself up properly? She could incapacitate him but... It certainly wouldn't be easy to do so. She'd been trained to kill, and no bullet could knock someone unconscious without causing serious harm, no matter where you placed it. She might have some rubber bullets on her, but it was unlikely they'd be able to knock him out... But she couldn't kill him, he was her only lead on all of this. She took a steady breath, she had the upper hand here, and all she needed to do was tie him up. Without a weapon what could he do? He just... Needed to comply a little.

Agnew watched the marine commander closely. She shook visibly as she talked. He didn’t move into any rash actions, not yet. However, he didn’t think she would shoot him. The way she hesitated and stumbled on her words a little bit. This was as strange and unusual a situation for her as it was for him.

Perfect.

“Okay, okay.” Agnew found himself saying. He had continued slowly backing up and was getting close to the wall. “I’ll go with you!”

Agnew said the last bit forcefully, to throw the Commander off and leave her second guessing. He turned and reached towards another hidden switch on the wall. It would open up a passageway near where he was and allow him to escape. He could try to capture Commander Scarlett later on if he could get out of this situation. She had escaped on dumb luck.

Agnew didn’t count on the strange metallic object lying on the floor between himself and the wall. His foot hit the solid piece of metal and he tripped forward. He smashed into the wall, narrowly avoiding the switch that would lead deeper into the bowels of the building. Agnew – in his infinite wisdom- put his arms out to stop the fall.

The syringe pierced his neck as he hit the ground. Agnew could feel the world growing cloudy just before he passed out.

The man led Chrysoara into a small hut. The walk had taken longer than Chrys had anticipated due to stopping at every grave along the way to show them proper respect. There were a lot of graces – the village was built on a graveyard, after-all. Once there, the man opened the door for Chrysoara and promptly walked away. This left Chrysoara there all by himself. Chrysoara walked into the hut.

Inside, there was a single set of iron armor lying in the corner. Chrys could see the light blue tint to the metal even from the distance. As he approached, he could make out the Kanji symbol on the back of the armor.

Chrysoara picked the armor up and examined it, piece by piece. He was not a blacksmith and couldn’t describe what made armor better or worse. He was a merchant, though. This meant he knew wares generally enough to know what something was worth. This armor was in remarkably good condition. Oddly enough, Chrys thought it would fit him as well. The large Jellyfishman quickly took his weapons off and began donning the armor. The process took a moment, but eventually he had the suit of armor completely on. It fit well, and it even had palms created so that he could use his toxins.

The armor seemed to be made for him. Chrysoara left the hut with a smile – that is, until he looked down th e large mountain. He had quite a way to go and he weighed a lot more now than he did when he had exited to come up the mountain.

Chrysoara began the trek down the mountain. He was lost in his thoughts as he walked. Did he believe this man that the disappearances had nothing to do with the village? He was inclined to believe that they were unrelated. Why would he lie about that incident and b e honest on some of the others No, the only thing he could think of was that this sect of the church had nothing to do with the disappearances.

Scarlett was fairly sure that her breathing was audible, partly because she could quite clearly hear it, and partly because she was just a few steps from hyperventilating. She had no way of escaping this situation due to her exit being blocked by the priest, but if it came down to it she knew she could pull the trigger. She wouldn't let the bullet be fatal though, for sure. As her body continued to shake, she watched as the man spun, maybe aiming towards the stairs but instead slamming his hand into the wall and then floor, falling down rather dramatically. His moments began to slow and moments later he was still, leaving the marine stood there awkwardly and uncertain. Did she approach? Was he playing dead perhaps? She was too petrified to check at first, but after a prolonged period of him being unmoving she risked stepping forwards.

"P-Put your arms behind your back"

She stammered, continuing to make baby steps towards him and keeping her gun aimed at his head the whole time. If he made a move then she couldn't risk a non-lethal... Weirdly though, she found that even when she got close he didn't react. Gritting her teeth she dared to jab him with the toe of her boot, in the side of the ribs in the hope to get a reaction. She got none. Her blood began to chill as she feared the worst, that somehow he hadn't played dead but instead had actually died. Using her foot still she pushed at his side, managing just about to flip the man over onto his back, revealing the syringe in his throat. Her eyes widened as she tried to make sense of the scene, yet her aim still not moving from him. It wasn't until she spotted his breathing that her heart-rate managed to slow down a little bit, despite it still hammering on in her ribcage.

"How?"

She managed, though she had a feeling she could fit the pieces together fairly easily. Finally she began to step away, moving towards a chain she'd noticed in one corner previously, and grabbing a hold of it. Despite him being unconscious she wasn't allowing him out of her sight, simply out of fear. He'd planned on drugging her it seemed, and then perhaps kidnapping her... She was glad that she'd avoided it, if only just. Bringing the spool of metal back over to the unconscious priest she began to wrap it around his arms, managing to just about tie it up with one hand, and eventually putting her gun away to use both. Now that he was tied up she supposed he wasn't as much of a risk... Though that needle in his neck was. She didn't dare remove it at first, but eventually the need to make sure he didn't take too much became apparent and she soon began to pluck it from his flesh, throwing it aside once it was out. Now that he was tied up, she had some time to look around the room.

Chrysoara was a fishman of the jellyfish variety. Ordinarily, this wouldn’t be a problem. It would be an advantage. However, this situation was not one that Chrysoara found himself in every day. As he trudged his way down the mountain, Chrysoara found himself beginning to sweat. He was unused to wearing a full suit of iron armor and the inside of it was oppressively hot compared to what he was used to wearing – a set of gauntlets and nothing else other than his clothing.

Now, the outside wasn’t particularly hot. However, it was dry. The dryness of the island combined in a perfectly horrid way with the heat of the suit, causing Chrysoara to hate his entire life for the decision he made when he donned the armor. Of course, he was a fishman. Some would assume that meant that he required water to function properly. That wasn’t entirely true. In fact, most fishman required no more water than any human. Still, Chrysoara could feel his lips beginning to crack as the sweat dripped down his forehead.

The trek eventually ended as Chrysoara found himself near the Cactihedral once again. There were priests bustling about – just as before. In fact, almost nothing had changed. The priests may have changed faces, but the activities seemed to have stayed the same.

However, Chrysoara had paid his proper respects and now had a goal of who to talk to first. He needed to hear the report from the priest who had called them in. This Decca Pelson. While Chrysoara was unsure where he would find her, he figured the best route would be to enter the cathedral and start from there.

Thus, Chrys found himself heading towards the cathedral that he had left not too long ago – though he was donned in new armor this time.

The room was still the same as the first time she'd inspected it, now with the addition of an unconscious man and an empty syringe. She did wonder however... Why had he suddenly lunged towards the wall? Had he been searching for something perhaps? Perhaps there was another button somewhere! In the back of her mind she was slightly aware of the fact that she would have to spend forever looking for the exit button, but now the possibility of another one here? Beginning to feel the wall, she ran her palms along each rocky brick, putting pressure on each to try and figure out if there was one, until finally she felt one give way. A smile grew on the marines fact as the stones nearby began to shift to one side, revealing a corridor leading to who knew where. For a moment Scarlett stared at it, before pressing the rock once again. Nobody could know she had been down here... She'd go get Chrys and then maybe they could explore together. Though, she needed to get this guy back to the marine ship.

"I wish you weighed a little less"

The pink haired marine complained as she dragged the unconscious priest up the stairs by the chains around him, pausing every few moments as he bumped into the next step. It took her some time but eventually she found herself at the top of the stairs, and now had to go about looking for the secret button. It wasn't actually as much of a challenge as anticipated, thanks to some generic guessing, and a little bit of knowledge added to it. After all, the more faded rocks would imply they'd been touched more, which made it a tad easier to find the exit. Soon the doorway was opening and the marine was allowed to drag the priest from the stairwell, and after some more searching managed to shut the secret door. She made a mental note of where each of the opening stones were, just for when she was next here. Unfortunately that had been the easy bit, as next up she had to drag a priest all the way back to the ship, and without letting anyone see.

"Times like this I wish I had a way of calling in someone to help"

She grumbled, lifting the unconscious man up with both arms and throwing him over a shoulder. He was heavy, but despite that she didn't seem too overencumbered by him. With a heavy sigh she made her way back along the winding narrow corridoor, bumping the priests head into various rocks on the way through with little care in that regard. He deserved more than some unconcsciousness and a few brief bumps. After what seemed like forever of wandering, eventually the area began to open up, revealing the same side area which she had followed the man down earlier. Slowly she made her way towards the corner, and poked her head round the outside, making sure to look both ways. She needed to know the coast was clear after all, and would dip her head in quickly if it wasn't.

Clank.

Chrysoara moved in his heavy suit of armor, each step making his presence known. He was already someone difficult to hide and the armor only made it more so. His destination was, of course, the Cathedral in front of him. He had to find this Decca Pelson and see what she knew of the disappearances. He should probably check in with Commander Scarlett shortly thereafter. She was a Commander, so she should be okay. Even without her guns, right? Chrysoara could feel the weight of the weapons on his shoulder, held there by a loose leather strap that was connected to the weapons, even through the armor.

Clank. Clank. Clank. Chrysoara made his way into the cathedral, looking around once he made it to the main entrance. There was no one in the area – which surprised Chrysoara considering the bustling activity from before. There was a decision to be made.

Which way should he go? Nero Mur had gone off to one direction to work on construction. The problem was that Chrysoara didn’t know if he could find the man. That way could lead to unknown corridors that wound left and right – it was especially likely since it was still under construction. No, that wouldn’t do. That would only lead to him getting lost in the magnificent – yet incomplete – structure.

What about other corridors? He wouldn’t have any more luck walking down them. They would lead to finished or unfinished areas, but Chrysoara wouldn’t know his way around them anymore than he would the way Nero Mur had gone.

Chrysoara glanced about as he thought. Which way? Oh! The Quartermaster had an office down one corridor. Surely it wasn’t that far if Nero Mur had expected Commander Scarlett to find it on her own! Chrysoara headed towards that corridor.

He turned down the corridor and began to walk towards the Quartermaster’s room – though Chrysoara didn’t know exactly where it was.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

For the most part, the corridors were clear, apart from now a looming mass of metal which had wandered in. Without even looking it was clear that this person didn't belong among the priests, which as she peered out had Scarlett wondering. She squinted hard at the armour, the more she did so the more it began to resemble an individual she'd previously noted as significantly taller than her. In fact, she was sure beneath the gap near the eyes she could see blue, and it wasn't from the eyes... She spent a little longer focused until she was sure of it. For some reason, Chrys was wandering around in a full set of armour, one which proved to be the nosiest set of armour she'd seen. Why, she didn't know, but she was certain he hadn't been in possession of it before.

Pressing herself against the wall, Scarlett waited for the metal to grow closer. She couldn't risk calling him over and having someone notice, and so she waited, counting the footsteps and attempting to calculate how close he was, mixed with the loud noises he was making. He came into view about a second before she'd expected, but she quickly reached and stepped out, arms open and a smile on her face. She greeted him warmly, but made sure to place her finger up to her lips to keep him quiet, not that he hadn't already woken everyone within a mile radius with that armour. Of course, as she tried to encourage him a tad down the hallway out of view, she had a little challenge due to the fact there was currently an unconscious priest on her shoulder.

"Chrys, I wasn't sure if you were still about, and you found yourself a... Suit of armour? Uhm, it seems we've both been doing a little adventuring"

As if on cue, the priest on her shoulder began to snore, causing her to quickly smack him in the side of his head, causing him to quickly quieten down. Looking back up at the fellow marine she chuckled a little bit, before sighing heavily, her expression turning to one of a fairly weary and stressed Scarlett, her hair significantly more frizzy since the last time he had seen her. Something about being threatened with a syringe and then having to deal with a standoff didn't particularly sit all that well with her. But, they were past that now, and she had the crook bound up and ready to be spoken to. However... Now that Chrys was here she supposed they didn't need to take this priest back just yet. Though maybe backup would be wise. Or maybe a burly man with a huge suit of armour would be enough. She didn't know, and she was still sifting through her thoughts and trying to get them to sit in their right places, which made things much more difficult.

Chrys walked down the hallway – glancing side to side to try to find the quartermaster’s place to ask for directions to Decca Pelson. She would have more information on at least a subset of the victims, so talking to her would be important in getting to the bottom of this case.

He was not prepared to see Commander Scarlett – decked out in priest robes and frazzled hair - step out from behind a corridor that Chrys hadn’t noticed. He was even more unprepared for Commander Scarlett to be carrying a snoring priest on her shoulders. This …was an interesting development, and Chrys wasn’t exactly what to do about it. Well, perhaps he should hear what she had to say first. Perhaps she would explain the situation. That would be best.

Sadly, Chrysoara would be disappointed in what she said. Commander Scarlett appeared to be trying to make small talk. She was making small talk as they stood in a hallway of the largest Cathedral on the island and she had an unconscious priest on her shoulders. The cathedral, of course, was crawling with priests – even if none were currently in this hallway. Chrys – however – felt as if he had very few options. She was his Commanding Officer. He could hardly demand an explanation from her. He could ask once he responded to her statement, however.

“Yes, Ma’am.” Chrysoara replied before remembering that she didn’t like the formalities and she was currently undercover. Oops. “Err…. I mean, yeah. Some murderous priests had this marine armor lying around and they didn’t want it – so I took it. They didn’t seem to have anything to do with the investigation, though, so I came back to look for Decca Pelson or yourself. So…uh…. what’s with the priest?”

At the end of his sentence, Chrysoara pointed towards the man on Scarlett’s back. It pained him to talk so casually with a superior officer, but she requested it.

"Murderous priests that don't have anything to do with the investigation?.. Well, have I got a tale to tell you then. Are you ok by the way? Murderous implies violent and all"

She replied jokingly, attempting to remain positive in a fairly bad situation. She was still a little shaken up after all, and she probably wasn't all that subtle about hiding that fact. Looking at the unconscious man on her shoulder she sighed heavily, thinking all of this through as sequentially as she could. They'd each been attacked it seemed, but his hadn't been to do with the disappearances he claimed. Had hers? Her attacker had tried to drug her... That gave her enough reason to believe it was related then. She tried to order her thoughts a little more before finally replying.

"This guy here took me to his 'scripture room' which funnily enough, had no scriptures. It wasn't anything weird, but it was... Hidden for sure. He then tried to inject me with something, and upon failing through, uh reasons, he then made a break for it, only to slip and fall onto the syringe and... Well here he is. I'd have been like this and, ugh. Anyway, he did reveal a secret doorway, which may or may not lead to somewhere important, I'm unsure. Annnndddd, I'm not sure what to do with this guy. Should we try take him back?"

Scarlett finally finished, her long monologue gifting her a lack of breath, forcing her to suck in some air to try and stop herself from getting dizzy. Whilst she certainly didn't fall over, the priest was now feeling a little more heavy. She still managed to push his head up to show Chrys what his was face like, though due to his lack of hair she was unable to pull him up by that. She felt a little uncomfortable holding his head though, he was all gross and sweaty, most likely due to the sleep drug. Remembering their need to be quiet she quickly moved past the man and took a look both ways in search of anyone, hoping that they weren't about to be found. Something about being found with an unconscious priest spelt bad news.

Chrysoara listened to her entire tale before he spoke. He felt like it was only proper to let his commanding officer have her say before he spoke – regardless of her views on propriety. She definitely had an adventure while they were gone and that explained the priest. They did need to do something with him soon, though. This hallway wouldn’t remain deserted forever.

“I’m not entirely alright, Ma’am. A crazed priest stabbed me in the shoulder and my wound has been left relatively untreated. Luckily, I don’t think it was a terrible wound and I think I will survive. I’m no doctor nor am I a subject matter expert on the matter. However, I agree that we should move the priest somewhere. I’m just not sure where. Do we know if the marine ship was staying in the harbor or if it was going to leave and come back later…”?

Don spoke hurriedly. He assumed the ship had left. After-all, if it was staying then why would they only send the two of them onto the island to investigate? That wouldn’t make much sense. Without the boat – though – where would they store this man so that they could interrogate him on everything that he knew? It was certainly suspicious that he targeted Commander Scarlett so soon after their arrival. It had to be a lucky coincidence that the person he targeted turned out to be a marine commander, right?

“Oh! I have an idea, Ma’am.” Chrysoara began, slipping back into his old respectful ways yet again. It was a hard habit for him to break. “The ship I had bought on my way here. Medusazoa, it’s called. We could take him to my boat and interrogate him there to find out what he knows. I do think we need to do that without getting seen by any of the priests of the island, though. This could get ugly if they see as lugging him around".

"A stab wound? We'll get that looked at as soon as we can then, and I guess just take it easy"

She exhaled heavily through her nose. Why was the island like this? Priests of the murderous and kidnapping variety. Usually when you collected all your stuff in one place, it wasn't so that you could leave it there. This whole island seemed like a weirdly cruel joke, and Scarlett wasn't a particularly huge fan of cruel jokes. Mean ones maybe, but not cruel. She thought back to what she'd been told on the marine ship, realising that firstly she'd hardly paid attention, and secondly meeting up with that lot would mean a whole lot of paperwork, and then they'd ask for Chrys to go and get the person that stabbed him and... That was too much effort.

"You have a ship? That sounds like a perfect plan. Getting there unseen will probably be an issue though..."

She peered round the corner once again, keeping an eye out for any priests. Weirdly, there didn't appear to be any here currently, which was... Concerning but also useful. They could probably get him out of there fairly easily, but then getting to Chrys' ship without being seen, that was another challenge entirely. Maybe a distraction would be useful... Her mind returned to the plastic bag she had with her, various instruments of chaos hidden away inside. There was that weird keg things, and then there was that super creepy rock, and then... Then there was the copious amounts of blood, which seemed like a mean prank if nothing else. That rock though, that seemed both non-destructive, and fairly efficient.

"As long as we keep our eyes open, we should be able to get out of here and to your ship without too much of an issue. However, if needs be I believe I'm capable of making a distraction for us. Just a bit of noise, creepy rocks and what I believe is an explosive. Not quite sure why I have one of those, but hey ho"
