Two long weeks passed on Salt Island. Sprout spent the time setting up an auction. He had many small auctions but he aimed to make this one the largest he had ever held. Afterall, he had a devil fruit user this time. Names Sprout had only heard of in the Underworld were coming to the auction this time. If he was lucky, he may even get the attention of Sasa Dion, herself…

Sprout smiled as he thought about it, sitting at his desk. No one was interrupting him as all of his minions were quite busy getting the preparations complete for the arena.

Royale would find himself in his cell still. He only ever saw light or people when they delivered him food, twice a day. The guard always changed, and he may have even seen a certain bat wielding person delivering him food at some point. Of course, there were many thugs in Sprout’s employ who held bats. Today, though, was special. It was auction day and the excitement could be felt when the morning guard came into the room. It was a young and attractive woman wearing green, like Sprout did. She didn’t speak when she saw Royale but gave him a winning smile as she slid the food into the cage.

The food was what one would expect to receive as a slave. Mush. However, if Royale looked closely enough, he would find a small piece of paper tucked into the food. On the paper were the words “We’re getting out of here”.

Brand and Tony would find themselves in the same cage they had spent the last two weeks in. Their cage received light more frequently from people walking by. They weren’t at a deadend hallway, after-all. Additionally, they used torches on the walls to keep the area well lit. Down a hallway from them was where the guards watched. They didn’t need to stand extremely close to the cell – there was only one way out, after all.

In the cell with them, there were a few others. The large Fishman named Punchline was in the cell, still. Along with the woman with the long dirty blonde hair named Rugo. They had been the slaves Brand had tried and failed to free weeks prior. A young man in a suit delivered the food this morning. They each had their own plates, of course. In one plate, designated for Tony, there was a hidden piece of paper that said “We’re getting out of here”

Tony sat against one of the walls with his back leaning up against it. His legs were bent with his feet planted on the floor and he had his arms resting on his knees with his head down. The metal clanking of the metal hatch of the cell door rang throughout the holding cells as plates slid into the cell itself. The guard delivering the food ushered no words to the four people in the cell before closing the hatch and leaving the dimly lit hallway. It wasn't the brightest place to be held, but the candles offered enough light to see. Tony had his black long sleeved shirt tied around his waist as he sat slumped against the wall. After hearing the sound of the plates sliding against the ground the dark haired man looked up, revealing his face. Dark circles surrounded his eyes like always, but dirt also covered his face. His time in the cell hadn't been pleasant, but he was going to get out. His dream was not going to get cut short by a group of lavers who thought he was worth some money. No. He was going to be a pirate.

The sniper grabbed his plate and set it in his lap as he looked around at the people in his cell. Punchline. A blue colored fishman with a lot of muscle. Tony had never seen a fishman before, but after living with the guy for two weeks had gotten a chance to learn about the man he was. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he had a big heart. Next was Rugo. A blonde woman with a lot of sass. She seemed to be the least talkative out of his new friends, but she always spoke her mind and didn't take any bullshit. The last guy in the cell other than Tony himself was Brand. A blonde guy ready to do whatever it takes. He was the closest with Brand since he got to know him a little bit before they got locked up, but he cared about all of them. With all of them working together, they were going to get past this and find a way out of this dump. All they needed was their chance, they're opportunity to act upon. And when that opportunity showed itself they would be ready.

The man lifted the plate of mush to his mouth and began letting the nasty slime enter his body. If he wanted to escape, he was going to need all the strength he could get. Suddenly he felt something in his mouth that wasn't the same consistency as the mush. He swallowed the other stuff in his mouth and held the foreign object in his teeth. He then stood up a dropped the note into his hand. He was surprised to see the paper, but decided to open it up. He began to smirk a little as he read the note and then crumpled it up after reading it. He sat back in the spot he was previosly sitting in and smiled at the people before him, "We're getting outta' here."

In a small area outside the city, a young man was making his daily rounds.
He wore a suit that fit rather nicely on him, though it gave an interesting impression. The suit’s brand and colors normally made most people clam up and fear the wearer, as it was the type normally worn by the men who worked for the local criminal Sprout. Most of those men had muscles so big that their suits could do little to hide them, so that was a big factor. Compared to the average thug though, this young man was a lot smaller. And had a much leaner build. Comparable to a swimmer's even.

So that, combined with his long blonde hair and his usual goofy smile, made him look like a cheap host you’d get at a third-rate club. Definitely not prime thug material. He was the type you send to charm someone rather than shake them down. Unfortunately though, Richard wasn’t exactly the type to use his head very well and… yeah. The guys at the top had a fun time finding that out. So these days, he was reduced to being an errand boy or one of the guys who worked in the Salt Shaker. Wasn’t good for much else.

The blonde took a turn and walked into a local cafe. He took a seat and quickly ordered, and then turned his head to the entrance of the establishment And that boy wouldn’t look away until his order of bread and orange juice came. Once it did though, he grabbed the piece of bread and his mind started to drift. And he started to think about how things were ever since… two weeks ago.

After getting shot, Richard was drafted into Sprout’s group. As soon as he was healed, he was put to work. And hoo boy, two weeks was more than enough time for Richard to learn that he was on the wrong side of the law. Well, he already knew that he was on the wrong side from the start. But his time in Sprout’s company really showed just how bad things were. All the slaves, how Sprout’s got those slaves. Snatching people in broad daylight, what was he thinking before? It’s like these guys just didn’t care about the consequences.

Well, the teen assumed that it was hard not to. Considering this was an island with no Marine Base… Still a weird thing to consider. Richard had grown up with the marines watching over his shoulder, and Conomi always seemed safe. So it was safe to say that this place was a change of pace…
Richard put his bread down, and just looked at a wall. He needed to get out somehow. But, he couldn’t exactly do so alone.

After all, he still needed to break Brand out of his jail cell. He was smart enough to find a way of the island for sure. Especially considering that the route he was going to use was long gone.
It was a day or so after his leg had recovered from being shot. He went back to the beach he came from, and found out that the small boat he used to get to the Island was just gone. Stolen by thugs or the ocean, he assumed.
So yeah, he wasn’t getting out by himself.

Luckily, there was someone outside the jail cells he could trust.
“Where is she…?” Richard started to tap his finger impatiently against the table.

Royale couldn't find it in himself to smile, not even with snark or sass. Not with the current situation. How could these fiends all carry such grins and happiness, despite what they were doing? He shook his head in disgust as he though about it. And the worst part about it? They didn't even have the decency to season it.

Trapping him as a slave was one thing. Feeding him slop was another. They were on a literal island made of salt, yet the gruel they served tasted like nothing. Literal nothing. How was that even possible?

He looked at the plate, which in itself was odd, considering the mush was more liquid than solid, and clicked his tongue. A few days ago he toyed with the idea of chipping some of the wall, to at least try to flavor it. But that idea was shot to dusk when he saw a rat lick the wall and die almost instantly.

He needed to get out of here. He couldn't take it. While mulling on the possibility on trying to tunnel out, he noticed the paper within the mush. Fishing it, he read out the words on it. "We're getting out of here? Who's 'we'?", he asked himself. Balling up the paper, he put it into his pocket. He quite literally knew no one on the entirety of the island, besides Sprout. So unless he was also a slave or some deep cover agent in some Marine investigation, Royale would maintain a healthy amount of doubt for this mystery rescuer.

Uniki walked into the cafe. She wore her standard green cloak, of course. She never went anywhere without it. Sprouts rules. Her long brown hair was down, and she smiled at Richard as she walked in.

It was almost time for them to take action. She had been growing malcontent with Sprout for some time and eventually she decided she wanted out. The problem was that Sprout didn’t take kindly to people wanting to leave. In fact, no one who had voluntarily left Sprout’s service has been seen from again. Oh, he acted like he wasn’t behind the disappearances but Uniki didn’t believe him. The man was ruthless and rising in power too quickly for Uniki. Truth be told, it scared her.

She sat down at the table with Richard - Kazar, as Sprout and the others knew him - and noticed him tapping her fingers. He seemed impatient. Was he anxious about the plan?

Best to review it, just in case.

“You seem anxious. Don’t worry, everything will go smoothly. Let’s review. Today is the day of the auction. Normally, we would never be able to get the prisoners out of their cells but today they’ll be getting moved from their cells to the arena. That’s when we will strike. You’ll free the devil fruit user and I’ll free Tony and Brand. Then, we meet back up on the beach where you landed on Salt Island.”

She pulled out some keys. “I couldn’t secure keys to the cells but here are the keys for the prisoners. This one, is for the devil fruit user”

Uniki handed one of the keys over to Richard.

Brand walked over to Tony and sat next to his friend. “If anything happens to me, I want you to take over as commander of the division.”

Then, Brand gave a harsh barking laugh. “If there really is any division after this much time. I’ve heard rumors from the guards that today we are to be sold...I don’t know about you but I don’t plan on getting sold. I’m not going down without a fight.”

Unbeknownst to the group in the jail cell, they had half an hour before they began to be transported to the arena.

A guard walked down the cell of the prison hallway that contained Royale. Along with the guard, was the smartly dressed leprechaun Sprout. Light filled the hallway slightly as the short man walked and, eventually, stopped in front of Royale’s cell.

“ you’re going to be sold today. You will have to show your ability on stage. Now, the last plant I made was not designed to last. I assure you, if you want to live, you will cooperate and show your ability as soon as I ask you to”

Tony sighed in a manner that was friendly, but also showing his annoyance with Brand. For the longest time the guy had been trying to recruit Tony into joining his division for some crew. Tony liked Brand and all, but the whole idea seemed a little too much. It was an opportunity for him to join a pirate crew like he wanted, but he had no clue what he was doing it for. If he was going to lay his life down and fight for someone other than himself he wanted to at least meet the leader of the crew to see what kind of guy he was. He wanted to know who he was going to be dedicating his life to. It was that and Brand wanted him to lead the division if anything happened which was its own problem in itself. The sleepy man shook his head kind of brushing it off, "Nothing will happen to you. And we'll see about all that after we escape this place."

The sniper was still just trying to get off the island. He knew Brand wanted to get revenge and take out Sprout and his men, but the whole idea was a little much. Taking out a whole organization was daunting in itself, but the fact that they loss to the man last time made it that much worse. Tony nodded his head when Brand talked about getting out and tossed him the crumpled not from earlier, "Looks like someone else wants us out of here too." The dark haired man scratched his head while Brand read the note and then spoke up when he figured he was done, "I don't know who it is. But they're on our side. We need to be ready for any opportunity that reveals itself to us as a chance to escape. If we miss it, it can foil any plans this person has for us to get out." Tony said the end towards the whole group, hoping they were listening to him explain what was going on. He hated talking so much, but he felt like he had to make sure they were all on the same page.

Richard calmed down a tiny bit once he saw Uniki enter. Good to know that she was safe. She was the brains behind this operation. And well… Richard couldn’t do much without her. Or at least, not with as concrete of a plan as she had. Honestly, his best plan involved some matches and a lot of really lucky coincidences. Like the chair being as omnipotent and powerful as he thought it was.

Though he was starting to have some doubts. It had been two weeks and and he felt no need to kick a puppy. So it probably meant that he had to sit it more, or he was mistaken. Could never be sure though…

The bat user listened closely as Uniki outlined their plan. Nodding to every detail as it was said. He was going to commit this to memory, no matter what. He also accepted to key once it was passed to him.
So he had to go free the Devil Fruit Man. Richard wasn’t sure if that would be easier than what his companion set for herself. Sure, it was a man who no doubt could help him out in a fight.
But, if he learned anything in these past weeks it was that Sprout guarded that guy better than his own office. Richie would know.

In any case, Richard would have to be on his a-game for this mission. For this job, he’d have to pull off a few home runs so to speak. And well… Richard wished he had some more practice. He shook his head, didn’t do any good to worry right now. Deal with it later.

Richard then addressed the other part of the plan “Do you think that you’ll be able to free the other on your own?” It did seem like quite the daunting task, especially alone.

Royale was sitting against on of the walls of his cell, one that was adjacent the door. His mood had been declining more and more as each hour passed, and he didn't think anything could possibly make it worse. And then he heard Sprout's voice. Damnit.

He looked towards the dwarf(he had occupied himself over the last few days of coming up with labels for Sprout, including shorty, tom thumb, pea pod... they went on and on.), and simply listened to his small little threat-lace pep talk. What he wouldn't give get his hands around brocolli colored collar of his and just shake.....

He let out a sigh. Well, if that note was to be believed, his rescue would be imminent, so there'd be no use in antagonize Sprout now."Yeah, whatever you say, Lima Bean.", he replied to him. Oops. Kind of bad timing for a slip of the tongue. Ah, well. Too late now. "I've met a family of yours before, I swear. He was a bit taller than you, about...", he opened a gap between his pointer finger and thumb. "this height? Name was on the tip of my tongue...", he hesitated before snapping his fingers. "Pea Pod! You know leprechauns have odd names?". Hmm. Well. Not his smartest move recently, in fact, it followed a long string of bad ones.

But damn if it didn't give him a chuckle.

“Yeah, I can handle Bell. I’ve already begun my plan. Best you don’t know those details. I stole Tony and Brand’s keys from the guard, so we can strike when they are being moved. We don’t have long. We need to start heading there now.” Uniki said as she got up from the chair. She hadn’t been there long but they couldn’t exactly have their rendezvous at the Salt Shaker. They were nearby though.

Uniki left first and made it back to the Salt Shaker within a few minutes. She began to slowly walk down the hallway towards the jail cells. She was allowed back there. There were many cells and many hallways. She really didn’t care who she freed. She just needed help getting away from Sprout. She had worked for Baga before Sprout showed up, but Sprout was different. He seemed needlessly cruel, though that didn’t bother Uniki too much. Her main issue was that she couldn’t find any info on who he was before he arrived on Salt Island. There was nothing. She had hired Private Detectives to look into him but none managed to uncover a thing. She didn’t like the secrecy. A few others had shared that viewpoint and had decided to leave before Uniki had come to the conclusion. Some had made it off the island. Others did not. Uniki kept an eye on those who were leaving after rumors said that her friend Wrolen had vanished mysteriously instead of getting on the ship he had hired.

Uniki had seen Sprout’s men taking some of them away, though not all. It took her a little while to figure out the pattern. Those who had bounties always were captured by Sprout instead of being allowed to leave. Uniki had a small bounty of 5 million beri herself. She couldn’t risk leaving the normal way. That was why she had recruited Kazar and they had come up with the plan to escape together.

Uniki took a turn down a hallway that led to an empty cell. No one would be coming down here to ask what she was doing. Now, she waited.

Bell walked down the hallway, draining the rest of the tea that Uniki had given her. It was surprisingly sweet, and Bell wished she had another cup. She would have to ask Uniki for the recipe after the auction. She walked with a spring in her step as she went to get the prisoners. She was charged with bringing Tony and Brand to the auction. They only sent their very best to escort those two, of course. She made it to their cell without any difficulties and looked inside the cage.

She didn’t find Tony nearly as attractive after he sat in his own filth for two weeks. She raised her hand to put the key into the cage door but missed. Everything was blurry. Strange. She tried again and, this time, managed to successfully get the key into the lock. It was at that moment that everything began to go black.

The ones in the cage would notice Bell slump over, key still in the cell door. Then, they would see Uniki walking up behind Bell and push the body out of the way. Uniki would toss a key to Tony and a key to Brand.

“Those are for the shackles. Let’s go.”

Sprout smiled at his words. “You have a smart mouth for someone has not even managed to earn himself a bounty. You were a pirate for how long? Two years? Two long years and the marines didn’t even find you to be a threat. Sad. No matter, the men and women out there will love to buy you for that power of yours.”

Sprout turned and began to walk out of the hallway. “Wait there, it’s almost time to get him out of his cell, anyway. I have to go see to the auction.”

The guard nodded before turning to the Devil Fruit user. The guard was a large man, and held a pistol on one hip and a sword on the other. It was a small sword designed for one handed use. He pulled the pistol out.

“I don’t want to take any chances with you, spin-boy. When I take you out of that cage in about ten minutes, I want you to play nice. Otherwise, well…. I’m not sure how much your spinning power can protect you from a bullet.”

Some time passed and the group of chained people were sitting in their cell quietly as they waited for something to happen. They had no clue when whatever was supposed to happen was going to happen, but knew it had to be today. Tony had overheard some of Sprout's men talking about an auction that was going to happen on this day. So if they were all going to escape, it would have to be soon. Suddenly the sound of the large door that lead to the cells rang throughout the dungeon like room as the door opened. Footsteps then could be heard as someone approached the group. Tony lifted his head, wondering if it was going to be their hero and then he smirked when he saw bell, "Took you long enough." Then suddenly the woman fell to the floor and Tony stood up in shock. Their only hope had just passed out! He was only shook for a moment though, cause then Uniki came and pushed the woman aside and tossed a key at Tony, who caught it and immediately undid his chains. He tossed the key to Brand and walked over to the metal bars before reaching his arm through and turning the key. He then pushed the little door open and stretched out his limbs, "So what's your plan Uniki?"

Tony then grabbed the key from the cell and started unlocking other cell doors while calling out to Brand, "Unlock their shackles too." It was a good idea too get as many other people out as possible because they would be a great distraction. They could cause mayhem while trying to escape and then they would be able to slip out in the commotion.

Richard watched Uniki walk out, and then looked at the key in his hand. “Well, guess this is it then.” From here on out, nothing was guaranteed. For all he knew, Richard could be walking to his own death. But… he had to take this chance. He didn’t find staying here all that enticing. Especially with his current situation. Plus, there were sure to be better sights waiting for him on other islands right? This was the right choice.

The teen placed the key into his pants pocket. Then, he finished up his meal before leaving the cafe.

Richard would arrive at the Salt Shaker a little while after Uniki did. First things first, he went up the stairs and went into one of the many rooms. A few minutes later, he came out with his bat in hand. With that in hand, he continued his journey and happened to walk past Sprout’s office. And he stopped to think for a moment. It's not like he needed Sprout to trust him anymore. But at the same time, burning the chair didn’t seem like a good idea. Not now anyways, he had to make sure everyone got out first.

Though, maybe he could use it later… He’d consider it. Only if it’d really help out the plan. And totally not because he just wanted to at this point.
Maybe he had a problem…

The teen continued his journey, and eventually made it to the entrance of where Royale was being held. Richard could feel his palms start to sweat. He was starting to get a bit nervous. He took a deep breath and then entered the area. The first thing the blonde would note, was that there was an armed guard here. Which meant that at literally the first chance, something went wrong for him.

He’d play it cool and wave. “Hey! Working hard?”

He shrugged at Sprout. He was done with the conversation now. It was true, he had been a pirate for a couple of years, and he still had no bounty. But that was mainly because he just didn't care enough about that aspect of it. His dream wasn't to be feared, or to be the greatest, he just wanted to see all the seas had to offer, and it just happened that piracy was the best option. Hell, he had SLEPT through most of the fights his crew had, napping in their crow's nest. But when Sprout said it, something about his tone irked him. It was condescending. He hated it.

"You'd be surprised.", he said, replying to the guard. Hmm... 10 minutes to come up with a escape plan. They knew that he could spin, what they didn't know was that he could transfer it to others, to some...... let's say gruesome effects. If he could just manage to grab his arm... His thoughts were interrupted by a second guard, young by the looks of him. He looked around the same age as him. This complicated things.

"More like he's hardly working.", he yelled towards the newcomer. Fine. Maybe he'd break the first one's arm, take the pistol, then shoot the second. Yeah. Maybe that'd work. He began spinning his hand, acting as if he were bored.

“Tch, you know how it is Kazar. Gotta transport the Devil Fruit user. Could use an extra pair of hands.” The man said as Richard ran up. He gave the devil a mean look at the comment. The man, named Bob, had been something of a mentor to Kazar since he joined the business – or at least, he liked to think he was. He showed the youngin the ropes. This would be a good opportunity to teach the lad how to transport a devil fruit user.

He slid the key into the cell door and opened it up, backing away from the devil inside. “Stop the spinning and keep your hands where I can see them” The man said as he levelled his gun at the fruit user. “This is how this will go. You’ll walk in front of me down this walkway. Kazar here will walk quite some ways in front of you. If I so much as see you threaten either of us, there will be a bullet in your head. Don’t worry. Sprout’s policy is dead merchandise is better than escaped merchandise. He won’t mind if I kill you. He won’t mind one bit.”

“Unlock their shackles? Man, I only came with the two keys. Sprout has each pair of shackles on a separate key. I was lucky to get the keys for both of you.” Uniki said in an exasperated tone. What did she think she was? Some miracle worker?

“I’ve got a man at the docks who is supposed to be securing a boat for us. The plan is to get the hell out of here and get on that boat before Sprout notices that we aren’t at the auction. Those guys can come with us. We have one other guy working with us. He’s freeing a Devil Fruit user. Worst case is that Sprout goes after him instead of us.” Uniki said in a rush as she pointed down the hallway. “We have to move. NOW!”

Tony nodded after finding out that each thing of shackles had its own set of keys. It looked like Sprout was smarter than he looked. The cells Tony managed to open were full of screaming prisoners pleading to be released. Too bad there was nothing they could do for them. Tony grabbed the key and tucked it into his pocket, just in case they might of needed it later. He then spun around on his heel and started chasing after his group who also just escaped. He caught up to them fairly quickly and they all just ran down the hallway. They were really out, they did it. Now they had to reach the boat. Tony hoped they would all be able to make it there, he didn't want to leave anybody behind. The man ran while yawning, and after doing so he said, "I need my rifle back. Tell me where I can get it." He was planning on getting his weapon back no matter if she helped him or not. There was no way he could survive out on the seas without a weapon. Especially in the Grandline. The man waited for a response as he continued to run down the hallway. For some reason everything was going smoothly. It was only a matter of time before something bad happened. They had a pretty decent team though. Tony was pretty smart and could handle himself in combat. The fishman was big and strong, so they didn't have a need for Brute force. Uniki was a leader in Sprout's gang, and Brand and the other chick were wild cards.

Richard nodded as he listened to Bob. Honestly, his instructions made things a lot harder than they needed to be. How was the teen going to undo the fruit man’s cuffs when Bob was watching? He was even ready to kill Royale should the need arise. And well, Richard did not want to cause this man’s death.
The teen had to think fast. He had to free the prisoner before they left the cells. Or else, any attempt to free Royale would probably end in disaster.

But how to do it? For a moment, the teen considered attacking the larger man. If he managed to get close enough he might be able to do it easily. But… there was always the chance of it backfiring. And then the gun would be pointed at him.
Richard could feel his leg ache a bit at the thought.

The teen started to think again, perhaps he could attempt to slip the key to Royale? Maybe he could try to distract Bob with a joke. Actually, that didn’t sound too bad. He’d keep that in the back of his head just in case.
Then, inspiration hit Richard and he got an idea. And so, he walked up to Bob.

“I understand that you have a plan here and all. But, I’m not as familiar with the route as you are. So how about you lead the group, and I’ll stay in the back and keep an eye on our stretchy friend?” It was ingenious really, if Bob was in the lead. Then Richard didn’t have to worry as much about trying to hide his actions. He’d literally be doing them behind his back!
Plus, it doubled as an opportunity for a sneak attack. So it all seemed pretty good for the blonde.

But it was also a plan that hinged on Bob saying yes to his proposal.
