The steam engine roared as it woke from its slumber; the sack of coals that Geralf threw in the boiler had catch up with the embers quite instantly and gave off a vibrant reddish glow as it heats up the water tank, vaporizing its contents in turn creates a pressurized steam that runs through the cylindrical vent thus moving the pistons.

“Good, it’s already running. I just need to m-“

The doctor was then cut by a large explosion that seemed to have come from above deck. “What the-“ Geralf was left wandering, he knew the upper deck was empty and then redirected his thought to Dahlia. Explosions. That kid was very fond of it as he reminisced, so maybe that is why he hadn’t noticed her presence earlier, “That brat!” All these he thought in mere seconds as fire raged through the walls of the engine room.

Upon seeing this, Geralf dashed towards the stairway and up into the narrow corridor he was previously in. He noticed the doorknobs had already partially melted due to the intense heat; windows shattered from the blast and wall are lit. At the distance he could see the stairway that leads to the upper deck had already been blocked by a partial mast that broke off, it was burning intensely that gives off a dark smoke that is starting to fill the corridor, and the oxygen had began to thin out.

"Blocked! Damnit! Maybe I could go through the window from here.”

The doctor the pulled out his handkerchief and covers his nose to minimize the intake of toxic fumes, looking to his right he could see that the doorknob had already partially meted through and used this to his advantage as he kicked the door open, and just as he thought, the windows had already been shattered, he then quickly took off from his location and leapt through the shattered window and into the deep blue.

He swam to a good amount of distance before surfacing; it came to a full view that the burning vessel had already started to sink, it was quite unfortunate that Geralf had already begun to take a liking to the engine though. But he had to save it for later as he swam towards the docks and as he got near he saw Dahlia maniacally laughing for what she had accomplished, he also noticed other marines visibly shaken with what had just happened.

'Sooo tired, god I need to lay down soon all this running around and the high stakes. I'm starting to run out of adrenaline good thing we have an escape boat. I just need to find it." Don seemed to be slumped down from exhaustion from his fight, possibly something else, maybe he should get looked at. She spotted Geralf coming up out of the water, she reasoned that he might have been in the water the whole time, and she hoped he hadn’t almost went down with the ship.

”hey Doc, I’m gonna Grab Don and scramble on over to where our getaway probably is, maybe that griffon thingy will lead me there. I think he might be hurt really bad from that fight, if you could take a look and make sure he’s not gonna die I’m sure it’d be appreciated.” She put it fairly casually, there wasn’t even a hint that she thought maybe she had done something wrong. She hopped over to where Don was and lifted his hand then let if fall back to the ground, he definitely wasn’t awake but he didn’t feel dead either. She looked around and found the little griffon trying to roll don over, it got a look at her and raised its hackles defensively. ”whoa, settle down there, uh, Gra-Gruff? Right Gruff, we are after the same thing. If you can lead me to a good ship, I’ll carry Don there ‘kay” She wasn’t even close to knowing if it could understand her or even whether or not it would listin but thankfully it worked.

The Griffon took off into the sky and Dahlia hoisted Don by the middle of his body. It didn’t take long for them to get to the ship, it was only slightly out of the way. She laid the much larger fishman out on the deck, and started running around to get the ship ready for launch, then she realized that she had forgotten to do one thing. So she let Geralf get to Don and climbed up to the top of the mast, running along the rope till she was in the Crows nest. She sucked in as much as she could, put her hands around her mouth and Shouted. ”HEY AMOS, I WRECKED THEIR STUFF, GET TO THE SHIP."

Amos felt the adrenaline begin to pour out of his body as he looked around him. The entire area was a warzone, and most of it wasn’t due to him. His eyes fell upon the spot he had shot the largest portion of his arrows and realized a dreadful thing. Invisible arrows meant he couldn’t pick the ones that missed up for reuse. He would really need to figure out how to make things visible again. It would come in handy in situations like this when he only had two arrows left. Not to mention that he had to get to the ship. Where were they headed again? Shit, Amos couldn’t remember for the life of him. He wasn’t going to leave his ship behind, though. It only made sense if they had headed for his boat.

Amos began to walk that way before his right leg buckled beneath him and smashed hard into the ground. It was forest terrain, but it wasn’t the softest ground, which surprised Amos. Of course, being Gesso Island Amos shouldn’t be surprised by very much. Everything around him was white after-all. Who knew how else it would be different than the normal trees and ground that he is used to. Well, everything except the large tree he had sprouted in the forest. That one retained the original colors of an oak tree, for which Amos was thankful. He wasn’t fond of the whitewashed nature that he found out here.

“Going to stay there all day?” A feminine voice said from behind Amos. Amos perked up and turned his head. He struggled to rise to his feet as the female walked towards him. She had a bow in her hand and wore what appeared to be a green leather jerkin over normal cloth clothing. She also wore a brown sash. She had leather gloves and a bracer on her left arm – presumably so the bow wouldn’t cause damage to her forearm when she shot it. Interestingly, Amos could see a sword on her back as well. She had short black hair that reached to her chin and whipped about her in the slight breeze that blew through the area. Her serious face was enhanced by the singular black war stripe on the right side of her face. Amos was intrigued and almost forgot about other things as he stared at the woman. Everything about her seemed to tell a story of some kind. Why only one stripe? Why did she carry a bow and a sword? Amos could tell at a glance that she was the archer who had been felling the marines earlier. He would like to say that it was purely in the way that she carried herself but there was more. He also clearly saw that the archer from before had moved locations and was no longer there. Thus, it was the only thing that made any kind of sense.

All these things occupied Amos mind so much that it took him a minute to realize that she had talked to him. Not only had she talked to him, but she was walking towards him. How? What…. how does she know I’m here? I’m not even moving, Amos thought as he formulated his response. He didn’t know if she was friend or foe, but she didn’t appear to be attacking just now.

“How is it that you can see me and why did you help me with the marines?” Amos asked the woman as she stopped a short distance away from him. His legs shook as he tried to stand still, but he did his best to remain on his feet. It was enough. Barely.

“See you? No, it’s not that I can see you. It’s more like…. I can sense you.” The woman said with a sigh as she tossed a book down in front of Amos. It hit the ground with a smack. It was a red book with the words “Devil Fruit Encyclopedia” scrawled on the front. “It’s like what that man was using just at a much higher level. You may learn one day. Anyway, I don’t need that book anymore. I can’t believe the Suke Suke No Mi, Itachi Itachi No Mi, Model: Kamataichi, Mato Mato No Mi, and now even the Iro Iro No Mi is taken. This whole trip was a waste. I was bummed when I discovered the ultimate sniper fruit, the Mato Mato No Mi was taken but I figured the Iro Iro No Mi would be a good backup…”

The woman visibly sighed as Amos walked over on shaky legs to pick up the book. He didn’t know exactly what this woman was talking about but if it had some information about his fruit and the fruits of some enemies he may run into one day then he would gladly take this gift. He did wish she was more forthcoming about this ability she was using to detect him, though.

“Well, it was nice seeing you, Amos Leroux” The woman said before she stalked off. Amos stared absently. Who was this woman?

However, before Amos had a chance to ask her more questions, he heard a distinctive yell. Apparently, it was time to go and they had gone to his ship. Well, a ship. He hoped it was his. He couldn’t yell as loud as that little dwarf girl – did he ever learn her name? He wasn’t sure. Amos clicked a button on his headset and called the Den Den Mushi on the other side and began talking.

“Hey, if anyone is at the ship, this is Amos. I’m on my way. Might take me a minute or two. I’m pretty worn out, but I’ll be there soon.”

Then, Amos set off on his way to the ship. He wasn’t exactly sure where the ship was since they hadn’t docked at the harbor. However, there was exactly one bird left in the sky after all the chaos that had occurred. Amos could only figure that it had to be Gruff. With that in mind, he made his way through the terrible terrain. Of course, an energetic Amos wouldn’t consider this terrain terrible. He would find it quite nice and probably would spend many days hunting in it. Sadly, the animals were all in hiding or it was uninhabited – as Amos saw none of them on his way to the ship. After a few minutes, Amos managed to find the ship, with Gruff still circling overhead it was easier than he had thought it would be. He made his way tired and sore onto the ship and let out a large laugh as he fell against the beam that led upwards onto the crow’s nest. He had defeated him. The one who had nearly crippled Amos – and did cripple Amos for a short while – with his gun when they had first formed the crew. He would have to report this in. He wished Hearse would get himself a damn Den Den Mushi, so he could brag to him. He missed bragging to that a-hole and this was a situation worth bragging about.

Amos glanced around absently for Don and found him laying on the middle of the deck. He could see Don’s chest moving up and down, so he wasn’t too worried. He was a sturdy one.

Amos was too sore and tired to man the ship, so he began to flip through his book while he waited for them to take off. The first thing he did was look up the fruits the woman had mentioned. Suke Suke No MI. That was another invisibility fruit, though that one seemed to work a bit differently. It worked by touch instead of paint, it seemed? The Itachi fruit she mentioned was apparently a powerful zoan type fruit that granted invisibility? What the hell was a Zoan? There was so much he had to learn but this book only offered bits and pieces of information. He would have to learn more if he wanted to peruse this book some more. Of course, Amos wasn’t sure he did want to peruse the book a lot more. He was just mildly interested. The next fruit he looked up was the Mato Mato No Mi. That was a fruit he was interested in. The ability to never miss a target if he touched it first? Amos wished he had that fruit instead, though invisibility was cool. Despite his exhaustion, Amos couldn’t help but feel his blood pump through his veins as he thought about who must have that fruit. He could prove himself as one of the greatest archers and snipers alive if he could defeat the user of the Mato Mato No Mi. Of course, the question was if he could.

Amos began to look up his fruit but felt his eyelids growing heavy as he did so. Man, it had been a rough fight. Maybe he could look up his fruit later…

With that, Amos fell asleep.

“Yeah, I’ll see what I can do.”

Geralf looked intently over Dahlia, she motioned for them to follow Don’s pet griffin and with her tiny body, she managed to hoist Don up, but instead of lifting him up like Geralf thought she should, instead she dragged Don while his limbs lays limp on the dirt road. It was this time again that his interest on the tiny creature shoots up, how’d that tiny frame able to hold such a large creature like Don? Maybe the answer lies on Dahlia’s muscle structure, or maybe magic? Geralf chuckled at the thought of the latter. He was not a firm believer of magic but maybe with the help of a Devil Fruit, maybe.

The doctor noticed Dahlia lays Don down on the deck and climbed her way up towards the crow’s nest. And as a fellow fishman, he opted to check the other fishman of fatal injuries he might have sustained over his battle earlier. He got up close and knelt down beside Don and looked towards his chest and it obvious that he was still breathing; Geralf then took Don’s arms and felt it for broken bones or dislocation. Good; then his ribs, all good. Nothing seems to have been unnaturally broken save for some bruises which would heal up in time.

“That had been quite troublesome.. But, I’m relieved that it was all over.”

Getting along with this rowdy crew seemed like a good idea for the moment, he then remembered what he came for originally. And maybe, just maybe he could achieve it by tagging along. They seemed like strong individuals that could watch his back as he accepts the fact that he would not able to get though this without their help. Geralf walked towards the bow of the ship as the sparkling blue ocean was glistening with the reflection of the sun, the warm ocean air blew across as it caressed Geralf’s cheek.

Don faded in and out of consciousness, unaware of what was happening around him. The last thought he had was simply a feeling, one of satisfaction. He'd defeated the woman. Just barely, but he did it. Sure, he had Gruff and invisibility to aid him, but it wasn't like the odds were stacked in his favour. He'd just taken down 2 incredibly strong enemies in a short span of time, and then engaged her completely exhausted. She even poisoned him. Don wasn't disappointed that she did though. It was a serious fight with a lot on the line, and any dirty trick was allowed. He was a pirate after all.

Gruff on the other hand rushed over to his unconscious friend, worried whether he was alive or not. He could tell Don was alive, but whether his condition was stable wasn't something the animal could perceive. It's head shot up as the short girl appeared. She slowed down upon seeing him, Gruff glaring at her defensively. She shouted some things, proposing to work together. Could he trust her? She was Don's friend.

With little other choices left, Gruff flew up and did as she asked, leading them back to the ship. The other fishman arrived as well, checking up on Don's body. Gruff landed nearby, hearing his verdict. The beast was relieved, poking at Don'd body. Amos appeared, a face that Gruff trusted. With that, Gruff bit down on Don's foot and dragged him away, back into the room they slept in, shielded from the elements. With a sight of exhaustion, Gruff plopped down beside him and nestled itself next to Don, falling asleep.

The chaos near and at Gesso Island dockyards caused by the clash of pirates and then evasion of the law has been blamed primarily on two fishmen confirmed to be in the area by multiple witnesses. Fueled in some part by racial tensions, the fishmen Don Lino & Geralf von Dietrich now have a terrible reputation on Gesso Island and will be driven away by the populace should they ever return.

In response to this, the Marines have issued new bounties for the pair.

Don Lino has his bounty raised to 27,000,000 beli and is known as the Iron Shark of the pair who terrorized Gesso Island, capable of tearing through cannonballs with his bare hands and attacking Marine soldiers.

Geralf von Dietrich has been issued a bounty of 11,000,000 beli and is know as the Quack Shark of the pair who terrorized Gesso Island, for dispensing dangerous toxins and performing acts of quackery on citizens.

Despite Dahlia's acts of mass destruction, the lack of knowledge about Dwarf-kind and her small stature meant that all of her acts were attributed to the pair of shark fishmen. Those survivors who did claim to see her have been admitted to mental institutions until they recover from hallucinations of little people clearly triggered by the traumatic events.

Though Amos is a known associate and believed to be involved, the lack of certainty and the addition of another unknown archer has meant no reputation boost has occurred for the man at this time.
