Alistor rowed his little dinghy, having turned his gun in and headed straight out of the Wild Wild West. He had left before meeting the marine, largely due to his suspicions that the marine may have been his brother going under a different name. His brother deserved the freedom of not letting his past catch up with him. That’s what Alistor had been trying to do this whole time. Before he had left the Wild Wild West, he had heard another rumor. The Rising Sun Pirates had seemingly fallen off the face of the earth. No one had heard from them in months. He had heard rumors of a pirate crew that was called the New Rising Sun Pirates, but he felt like they may have been a copycat crew of some kind. Ultimately, Alistor was at the point of giving up. He had spent more time as a pirate alone than he had as a member of the Rising Sun Pirates. Lately, he had been feeling the urge to look into blacksmithing again. It had been a while since he had picked up a hammer and he was feeling the urge to make some new gear. Not that he would ever admit that to his family, of course. That was why he chose the next destination that he did. Red Sand Island. They say that the sand here could be made into fantastic weapons and that was something he was definitely interested in. The island began to come into view and it was absolutely stunning as the setting sun cast its rays over the red sand. This in turn reflected onto the water, creating a beautiful orangish-red glow on the water as he rowed nearer. In fact, he noticed that the water had some of the red sand beneath it which helped with this effect. All in all, it was safe to say that Alistor was mesmerized. |

Dadu stretched his arms out, yawning. His large body rested on the shore of a beach, which he had washed up on earlier. The sand on this beach was bizarre, it had a red colour and was rather hot. Dadu's tentacle emerged from the sand behind him, holding a clump of it, as he examined it with his hands, moulding it and admiring the colour. "God really outdid himself, expert craftsmanship this one." He laid there motionless, as a large bird landed nearby. The bird pecked around, before approaching Dadu. The creature seemed to not even notice his presence. Woosh Dadu's arm struck out and grabbed the bird, who didn't even make a sound as the 15 foot man squeezed it's neck, killing it. Kicking himself up, with his wings and tentacle aiding him, Dadu landed on his two feet and looked around, heading inland whilst occasionally taking a bite of the bird. "This island has good food." -- After a while, Dadu caught sight of buildings, tossing the now bare bones bird to the ground. Approaching, he was surprised by the scenery. All of the buildings on this island were comprised of the red sand, forming bricks, the walkways, and even more. The shockingly red town was a stark contrast to Dadu's hometown, with lush green grass and normal brick houses. Upon entering the town, Dadu headed for a bar, noticing weird looks he was getting. The looks didn't surprise him, as he had been getting them all his life. Crouching down to get through a door, he entered a surprisingly large bar, with a high enough ceiling where he could stand straight. Sitting down on a stool with a hard thud, he ordered a beer, his tentacle grabbing it and raising it for him to drink as he read a newspaper. |

Alistor’s boat landed safely on the beach and he climbed out onto the red sand. Alistor crouched down in the sand and let a handful of it sift through his fingers. His mind was racing. This would be a difficult material to craft with but would it be possible for him? He would have to learn how they handled this material since it was grainy. He had only worked with traditional metals before. Alistor looked over and noticed a very large imprint in the sand. Walking towards it, he noticed that it had to be from a creature that was fifteen feet tall and had some strange appendages. It was some sort of monster. Alistor could feel the adrenaline pump through his veins as he drew his sword. He hadn’t heard any rumors of monsters living on this island. He began to slowly make his way towards town, keeping his sword held out and his head on a swivel in case of any monster attacks. Eventually he made his way into the town. Looking around, Alistor quickly recognized the characteristic bangs of a forge. Making his way over, Alistor found an extremely burly man with thick black hair in the middle of forging a sword. The sword glowed red but they always did at this stage of the process. “My father’s busy; can I help you?” A young woman said as she jumped down from a wood fence nearby. Alistor had been so interested in the forging that he hadn’t noticed her. “No…maybe. I don’t know.” Alistor began, as he looked at the long brown locks of hair and green eyes of the woman. She was surprisingly beautiful. “So specific.” The woman teased as she walked around him. “At least you aren’t a monster like the one who walked by here just a few minutes ago, I guess. He was terrifying.” “Monster?” Alistor asked, curiousity getting the best of him. “Yeah, he had wings and a tentacle and stood at least twelve feet tall” The woman said with a grin. Alistor almost didn’t believe her, but he had seen the imprint in the sand earlier. “Is he making a sword out of red sand?” Alistor asked the woman as he watched the smith work. He appeared to be very skilled. “Yep, did you come here to learn how?” |

SLAM Dadu finished his fourth beer, slamming it down and wiping the mouth of his right head. His left head was engrossed in absorbing various information about this island. "Interesting." "Barkeep, another." He said, letting out a belch. The bartender slid the mug over towards Dadu, scared to get too close to him. The seats near him were empty, and almost everyone in the bar was nervously glancing over at him. The scene was bizarre; one large man who had various freakish features, sitting in the middle a bar counter, with every seat to his left and right empty. If one were to move back a little and get a glimpse of the rest of the room, they would find that the room was dead silent. The only sound that could heard was the man's drinking, and the occasional page turns of his newspaper. One woman got up, inching her way to the exit, when suddenly; BANG the entrance was kicked open, the woman getting knocked back onto the floor. A large man walked in, followed by at least 4 men, all of which held guns. The large man walked forwards, standing at about 10 feet tall. "Marines!" "We're saved!" "No we're not! Don't you recognise that marine!?" All the people in the bar broke out into a collective gasp, whispering to one another in hushed tones. The man who appeared was a domineering marine who was well known in the town, in his arm was a large club. He walked towards Dadu, ignoring the woman who laid unconscious with blood rolling down the side of her face. The men behind him followed, but he put his hand up, motioning them to stop. "Hey monster. My wall's been empty for the past few days, your two heads should do well to fill it up." He chuckled, a devilish grin in his eyes. At this point, most of the people in the bar had left, leaving only Dadu and the 5 marines. "A marine, huh." Dadu stood up, turning around to face the man. The large man felt his heart beat quickly as Dadu stood up straight, his wings extending out. Dadu's two sets of eyes glared at the man, piercing through him like spears. Dadu reached out and ripped a pole from it's grounding. The pole wasn't very thick, only there for decoration, but was almost as tall as Dadu himself. "This'll do." "Aghhh!" The large man lunged forwards, striking his club downwards. Dadu suddenly dashed to the side, his large body deceptively quick. Striking out multiple times, Dadu's makeshift pole arm stabbed at the man multiple times in a short time, before he planted his right foot on the ground and spun, smashing the pole on the side of the man's head. THUD The man's body slumped over and fell on the ground. "Run! We can't stop him!" The marines turned and ran out the door, only one of them trying to hold their ground and shoot at Dadu. Unfortunately for him, Dadu dashed forwards, his wings slamming downwards, sending him plunging towards the man and slamming into him. The man smashed into a wall, as Dadu pursued the others. “That was the thought, yeah.” Alistor said, glancing at the blade he wore on his waist. It was a good blade and had served him well so far. He had no plans on replacing it right now but that didn’t mean that he didn’t think about making better blades. More and more, the desire to forge weapons called to him. “He may teach you. If you ask…” The woman stopped talking as she watched a giant marine passing by. He stood far more than a head and shoulder over Alistor. Alistor glanced at him. He was large and pure muscle. In his right hand he carried a primitive club. “Someone must be causing trouble.” Alistor shrugged. The marines weren’t after him it seemed. He had noticed his bounty picture during his travels. It seems he was worth 5,000,000 Beri these days. Not that he prided himself on the bounty. The blacksmith stopped forging and turned towards Alistor. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he said “Son, I’ve been listening. If you want to learn from me then I’ll have to decide I like you. So far all you have done is talk to my daughter. I’m rather protective of her, ya know?” “Oh, sorry!” Alistor burst out as he took a step back from the attractive woman. He had thoughts, it was true, but he wasn’t ready to settle down just yet so he was not going to act on them. THUD The loud noise could be heard even from a few buildings away where Alistor was standing. He turned his head that way as he noticed the marines sprinting out of the building. Alistor didn’t know what was going on but someone was clearly causing a ruckus. Alistor ran after the marines and slid in front of their pursuer without even glancing at him. The man in front of him was a monster. No, man wasn’t right. It was just a monster. Two heads, wings, a tail of some sort and it stood well above even the marine who had walked over. Frankly, Alistor was terrified. Through the doorway, Alistor could see a woman who was unconscious and she appeared to be bloody. “What are you doing to these people?” Alistor yelled as he drew his blade and swung it in one motion.

Dadu moved forwards quickly, pursuing the marines. He had no qualms about injuring these men, who based off of the citizens' reactions were no saints themselves. It was then that Dadu saw something moving towards him at a rapid speed. “What are you doing to these people?” Before Dadu even saw fully saw Alistor, he felt an immense pressure from the man. That pressure weighed down on Dadu, reducing him to his basic animalistic instincts. In an instant, his entire body was yelling at him to flee, all of his hairs were standing on edge, but something inside Dadu resisted. Dadu's will to fight sparked, and his blood-lust grew. Just an instant ago, Dadu was playfully chasing down the marines, having some fun but keeping his calm deep down. But as Alistor's blade struck out at Dadu, he threw all caution to the wind and met the man's blade with his own strike, thirsting for some battle with a tough opponent. Using the long pole as if it was a proper pole-arm, he imagined it to be a glaive, a type of weaponry which he was proficient in, as he struck with all his might.
Alistor was quick, but had to close the gap between the two, giving Dadu enough time to meet the man's blade. As the two forces collided, Dadu's tentacle whipped out in front of him to guard as second attack as he dashed backwards, wings pushing him away from Alistor. "Who're you." Dadu looked over to the marines who were far into the distance. Gripping the pole with his hands, Dadu got into a fighting stance and readied to attack. "You interrupted my game, I guess you'll do for now." Dashing back at the man, Dadu swung his makeshift glaive, tentacle extended out to defend and wings propelling his dash forwards. |

The giant beast swung the pole he was using to deflect Alistor’s blade. Sparks flew as the blade smashed into the metal of the pole. The giant beast was moving in a strange pattern that threw Alistor off. He had difficulty reacting to the strange movements. The creature appeared to be using its wings to propel itself forward and backward. Alistor was used to watching the feet for signs of movement. This would be difficult. “Injuring an innocent woman is a game to you?” Alistor asked as he watched the beast, If the giant creature got him within its grasp it would be over. Furthermore, it appeared to be able to move and control its tail as if it was an extra appendage. Alistor prepared to dash forward and attempt to get within striking range but before he could move, the creature came towards him and swung the pole. Now, what was within striking range for Alistor was far different from what would be within striking range for this monstrosity. In fact, Alistor was still far enough out that he could stretch his sword arm out while holding his sword and still not reach the giant when it swung. However, Alistor had some advantages of his own in this fight, though. Alistor was far faster than this creature and, despite its massive bulk, its hits weren’t as heavy as Alistor had expected them to be. Alistor side-stepped the pole as he closed the massive gap. Alistor swung his blade from the top right downwards at an angle. Normally the strike would be aimed for a shoulder to hip strike but it was aimed more from the creatures left hip to his right knee instead. Either way, it would be a rather debilitating strike if it landed. Alistor hoped it would land so that this fight could end before it dragged on too long.

“Injuring an innocent woman is a game to you?” "Wasn't me, bud." It was clear that Alistor had thought Dadu hurt that woman, which he knew wasn't true, yet, he didn't stop fighting. He could have resolved the misunderstanding and peacefully ended this conflict, but Dadu's lust for blood had been ignited, and he wanted to fight. Dadu charged forwards, striking his pole downwards towards Alistor. It was then that the sword wielding man dodged his strike, moving in closer and slashing at Dadu. Striking his tail up to meet it, Dadu folded his wings in tightly, protecting his body as he kicked backwards.
The sword slashed against Dadu's wings, meeting resistance before being blocked by his tail. The brief exchange had left a decent cut on his wings; nothing fatal, but rather painful. Dadu stood there facing the man as he weighed his options. The man was strong, when it came to exchanging blows, Dadu wasn't quite sure who was coming out on top. The worst thing of all was the man's speed. Alistor could weave in and out of Dadu's strikes, which didn't bode well for him. Jumping back once more, Dadu observed the area, as he suddenly ran at a building, jumping up and climbing it, stopping midway up the building before jumping off and extending his wings out, soaring at Alistor. His left wing sent waves of pain jolting up his upper-left back, but he clenched his teeth and gripped his make-shit glaive tightly, unleashing a barrage of strikes at the man.

“Wasn’t me bud” Alistor heard the creature talk but he was already moving into the next attack. He pulled his blade back a little as it scratched the creature’s wings. Using its wings to defend itself? What a strange fighting style. The creature quickly scaled a building, which left Alistor with little to do but watch. He couldn’t chase after him up that building and, if he could, the reach it had on him would prove to be fatal. Suddenly, the creature began to jam the pole at him from the air. Alistor dodged left, right, back. He continuously moved as the blows landed but there were too many for him to keep up with. Alistor jumped back to dodge another attack but landed poorly and tried to switch directions to a leftwards jump to get out of the way of the next blow. He was too slow. The pole smacked into his Seaking Leather armor and caused him to gasp from the force of it as he fell onto his butt. He was stronger than Alistor had given him credit. Alistor rolled out of the way and quickly jumped at the descending monstrosity. Its wings were extended and it’s head was within reach due to the gliding. This position was his best bet to slay the beast. Alistor gripped his sword as tightly as he could while he jumped, ignoring the sweat that covered his hands. He let loose a guttural cry as he swung his blade. A woman with a bloody nose appeared out of nowhere. She jumped in front of the monster . What is she doing?! I can’t stop! Alistor thought as his blade descended. It was a split second, no more no less. His blade sliced the woman’s right arm from the shoulder down. She grabbed her limp arm and looked defiantly at Alistor. “It wasn’t him” Edited by Alistor, Nov 1 2017, 01:55 PM.

Dadu let loose, his pole rapidly striking out towards Alistor. Each strike was swift, and could leave an average man with a serious injury, yet the swordsman weaved in and out of the strikes, avoiding them by a hair. All of a sudden, the strikes caught up to the man, as he tried to jump out of the way, getting caught by a blow. The man fell to the ground, but Dadu underestimated not only his speed, but his durability. This grave mistake proved to be near fatal, as the man struck out at Dadu, one of his heads exposed. Dadu himself wasn't quite sure if the loss of one head would mean death, but he naturally would not wait to find out. Planting his feet out in front of him, Dadu tried to kick away, but quickly came to realise that the hit would strike him. Gritting his teeth, it was then that a woman appeared in front of him, taking the strike. Dadu landed on his feet, in time to hear the woman say "It wasn't him." Dadu calmed down and realised that he had gone too far with this, taking a needless conflict against a stronger opponent, for no reason other than to fight. Dadu stared at the man, but before he could say a word; Dadu heard one thing "Marines!" Dadu could now hear a noise which sounded much like a stampede, which was presumably caused by a large group of marines headed towards him. "Shit." The adrenaline in his blood was calming down, but now was not the time, marines would arrive from behind him soon. "You heard the girl, how about we settle our differences?" Dadu clenched his teeth and started run past the man, not even waiting for a response. Dadu planned to leave the immediate area and lay low, avoiding the ensuing marine search. The only issue would be the man in front of him. Alistor had already attacked Dadu while he was chasing other marines, so for all he knew, the anonymous swordsman could be an off duty marine. |

The woman held her arm as blood poured down it from Alistor’s blade. Alistor could do nothing but stare at his blade, which had her blood running down it. He didn’t mean to slice her. He didn’t want to hurt an innocent! Yet, he had to accept the fact that he did. Gritting his teeth, Alistor tried to process her words. “Who was it?” He said quietly, so that only those near him could hear. He highly doubted that the giant next to him would even be able to hear it. Suddenly, that didn’t matter as someone called out that Marines were approaching. Turning his head, Alistor saw a large number of marines running towards them. Looking at the Giant, Alistor made a decision quickly. He was right, now wasn’t the time. Especially not if he wasn’t at fault. “You’re right. We need to get her some medical attention, though” Alistor said, jabbing his thumb towards the injured woman. Sadly, he didn’t realize that the giant had already begun moving. Alistor was unsure if he had even heard him. She apparently decided that it was a perfect time to speak up about who caused the injury. “Marines hurt me before.” Taking a closer look at her, Alistor could tell that she wasn’t feeling well due to the injury. Her face was pale and she shook slightly. “Well, let’s go” Alistor said as he grabbed the woman by her uninjured arm and began to help her move with him. She slowed him down tremendously and he was unable to keep up with Dadu. “Is there a doctor around here?” Alistor asked as he ran. The woman looked exhausted still as she barely managed to shake her head no. Up ahead, Alistor saw Dadu. He wasn’t far behind him when he heard someone yell out to the left. The voice the familiar voice of the blacksmith’s daughter. “In here!” Alistor quickly towed the injured woman behind him as he yelled to Dadu “This way!” |

Dadu sped away, before hearing a noise from his front. "Shit." The marines had moved quickly, sending a group around the town to block off an escape. Dadu looked back, mind rushing while trying to find a way out of the situation. It was then that he heard a voice, “In here!” The voice was from a female, somewhere nearby but Dadu was unable to locate it. It was then that the swordsman yelled over to Dadu, “This way!” It seemed that the swordsman was helping Dadu, but he hesitated for a moment. He was still unsure as to who the man was. But upon further thought, Dadu noticed the man carrying the injured woman, and decided that his noble intentions were enough to respect and trust the man. Charging after him, Dadu caught sight of a building, a woman standing under a door-frame, trying to help Alistor carry the injured woman. As Dadu neared, he saw a tough old man standing outside the door, looking off into the distance, waiting for the marines to appear over the horizon. Dadu rushed past him and crouched down to get through the door. "Here." The young woman placed a wet towel on one of the injured woman's bruises. Unfortunately, it seemed as if the young woman wasn't sure what to do with the large cut which ran down the injured woman's arm. Dadu's conscience kicked in as he realised that this random innocent person was injured partially due to him. Deciding to help, he took out a rag, ripping it into smaller rags and dipping one of them in a nearby bucket of water. Walking over, he motioned for the young woman to move over (who moved back partly in fear) as he wiped the injured woman's cut with water. She winced, letting out a slight whimper while biting down on her cheek. "Stay still." Dadu then poured some strong alcohol which he took off a nearby table, wiping it once more with water before wrapping it up tightly, twice, before leaving the rest of the rags nearby. That was the best he could do for now with his limited medical knowledge, walking over to a chair and dropping down onto it, resting a little. The door to the place shut close, the old man walking over and saying: "Oi, that's my drink you're holding." Dadu looked over and glanced down at his hand which was still gripping onto the bottle. Dadu reached out, passing it to the old man as he walked over to Dadu. Bowing his head(s) ever so slightly, Dadu spoke to the man, "Thank you for housing us." Dadu took closely to strangers who treated him nicely, something which he didn't have the luxury of when growing up. This man and the young woman had hidden him and likely risked their own lives by doing so, and he wouldn't forget such a thing easily. "Ahaha, don't worry son. Those marine bastards have been out to get me for as long as I've lived here." The man laughed a hearty laugh and walked over to his forge, taking a swig of his drink. Dadu sat there for a moment, thinking on the kindness he was shown, and looked over to the swordsman. One head focused on the pole in his hands, and the other looking at Dadu, he spoke up; "So. Who're you?" |

Getting inside, the blacksmith’s daughter promptly began to attempt to help with the injuries. At least, she was helping with the bruises. Alistor was surprised when the silent monster suddenly walked over and began treating the cut. Alistor stepped back and let the creature work. He had decided to trust him the moment he called him over to this building. He might as well wait and see what the creature would do with that trust. Besides, the woman said that it was the marines who hurt her. The same marines this creature was fighting. Alistor was quickly beginning to think he joined in on the wrong side of that conflict. The door swung open as the blacksmith entered. Alistor was surprised that he showed absolutely no fear when it came to the monster. He was still a little scared when he looked at him. Alistor found himself absentmindedly rubbing his chest beneath his seaking leather armor. He felt a stab of pain everytime he touched the area and would venture a guess that it was bruised. He was hardly paying any attention to his surroundings when the creature suddenly spoke again. It’s voice was not as monstrous as Alistor had imagined it would be. To be fair, Alistor had imagined that it would only unleash guttural screams in rage. “I’m Alistor. I’m just a pirate who has lost his crew. I got caught up in your incident when I was talking to the blacksmith about learning how to create blades from red sand glass." Alistor said calmly ash e thought about the crew he had been left behind by. He kind of missed them. “Who and what are you? You don’t look exactly human, if you don’t mind me saying.” Alistor dared to say that, hoping it wouldn’t enrage the creature. He noticed the blacksmith’s ears perk up when Alistor mentioned wanting to learn how to craft from Red Sand Glass. “Son, if you know how to smith then I will teach you but only if you forget whatever rubbish you learned before. Smithing red sand glass is more difficult and requires precision that most smiths don’t have.” The smith yelled from his forge as he tossed back another swig of his drink. |

“I’m Alistor. I’m just a pirate who has lost his crew." A pirate? Dadu was surprised. Of all the things he imagined the man to be, the last thing he would have imagined was a pirate. Piecing all of the information together; Dadu was confident that he understood why Alistor had mistakenly attacked him. Removing himself from the situation, if Dadu saw a giant two headed man with large wings and a tentacle busting out of a building while people ran away in fear, then he would likely come to the same conclusion that Alistor did. The swordsman also spoke of forging red sand glass, asking to learn from the blacksmith just before their fight. "Who and what are you? You don’t look exactly human, if you don’t mind me saying.” Dadu was expecting the question, but he was surprised by the politeness. Often people would gape in fear at Dadu, which at this point he could only blame on himself. If he was the same as he was during childhood, the weird looks that people gave him for being born with two heads would enrage him; yet after giving himself wings and a tentacle tail, it was his own fault for looking much more monster than man. The old man yelled over to Alistor regarding the red sand before going back to his business. Dadu sat there for a moment, as speaking about himself felt unnatural. It wasn't often that people showed him kindness, and even less often that people asked about him without any hostility. "My name is Dadu. And yes, I am human." Dadu turned his second head, both now looking at Alistor. His tail stretched out, reaching in front of him."I was born with these two heads- whereas the wings and this tail were due to my experiments." Dadu glanced over to the cut on his left wing, taking out a much larger rag than the one he gave to the woman as he tended to the wound. Dadu peeked through a small window, looking out onto the streets. Marines had arrived in the area, checking around and interrogating bystanders. A few of them dragged the body of the man Dadu fought. Dadu looked closer and noticed blood dripping from his mouth. It had seemed that Dadu went a bit overboard and killed him. Ah well. The man got what was coming to him, and Dadu returned his focus to wings and his make-shift glaive which was really just a pole from a building. |

Alistor smiled listening to the smith talk. His father was like that and, while they always had their problems, he couldn’t help but miss his father these days. It was like he had abandoned part of himself when he left. He abandoned part of himself in the name of freedom and now he was starting to feel that part of himself come crawling back. He was starting to wonder if he could settle down as a smith somewhere. In the back of his mind he knew that it would never work. He enjoyed the life of a pirate too much. “Nice to meet you Dadu.” Alistor replied as he mulled over the information that he had just been given. He had added the tail and wings hemself? How would one even go about doing something like that? The more Alistor thought about it, the more impossible it seemed. He had seen a cyborg before but to add genetic material to yourself…it was too much to believe. Yet, he had no reason to doubt him. He openly admitted to being born with two heads. He had no reason to lie about the source of the wings and tail. “I’m sorry for cutting you.” Alistor said as he noticed Dadu begin to patch up his wings. “You’re a good fighter.” He added as a consolation prize for injuring him. As Alistor finished complimenting the fighting skills of the giant, the blacksmith looked over and yelled “Are you coming or not. I have a dagger to make for old Man O’Connell. The old coot says he needs a small blade for self protection. Like anyone would harm that old man.” The Blacksmith gave a massive chortle as Alistor wandered over to where he was. The forge was impressive. He was clearly a more accomplished blacksmith than Alistor’s father. He could tell by the craftsmanship of the tools hanging on the walls. Alistor grabbed a blacksmithing hammer off the wall as he made his way to the blacksmith. The old man smiled before yelling over to Dadu, ” Hey, can you bring me that barrel over there? You look strong enough for it”. He was pointing towards a barrel without a lid that was filled with red sand. |
