"This can be used in combination with Bombs & Munitions" is setting off some alarm bells. Piggybacking techs on top of other techs is generally frowned upon, and this is making me think of that. Can you explain exactly what this means and how you intend to use it?

Quick Draw: No to the reloading part. Either its a shot or a reload tech, not both.

Bubblicious doesn't need power or effects, so you can remove those. Its also phrased like a drug or food buff, which you don't have access to, but I'd be generally okay with it as flavor so long as you make clear he has to keep vigorously chewing it or something to keep its effects up.

Gooberball. Two notes on this; can't be piggybacked on top of your other techs, and we're very cautious in allowing binds with range/AoE. I'd be fine with a short range single target, but an AoE bind at only rank 4 doesn't feel right.

Crying Wolf: You don't have anything that grants access to debuffs, so you'll have to remove that portion of the tech. I'd also ask that you tone the description down a bit: sound waves that disorient is enough, bur dictating that people see illusions or that vision follows a particular path is too godmoddy.

Patriot: Raging Raven: generally inventor AoE discount is limited to actual explosives, not just any gadget they make. Same for Octopus

I'd like to note that inventor gadgets are one and done devices: the gauntlet needs to be something he creates and uses for that tech. It isn't a permanent creation you can just wear around everywhere. If you want something like that, you'll have to buy it as an item.

It's a combination because it wouldn't make sense to create bullets/munitions that I need to throw to use. I should be able to use my different bullets with my different gun techs. If not, Lamps and Oils is a waste of trait for Inventors/ Ranged Fighters.

Quick Draw: No to the reloading part. Either its a shot or a reload tech, not both.

I can make this a shot

Bubblicious doesn't need power or effects, so you can remove those. Its also phrased like a drug or food buff, which you don't have access to, but I'd be generally okay with it as flavor so long as you make clear he has to keep vigorously chewing it or something to keep its effects up.

This is flavor mostly

Gooberball. Two notes on this; can't be piggybacked on top of your other techs, and we're very cautious in allowing binds with range/AoE. I'd be fine with a short range single target, but an AoE bind at only rank 4 doesn't feel right.

It's AOE due to the Inventor Primary

Crying Wolf: You don't have anything that grants access to debuffs, so you'll have to remove that portion of the tech. I'd also ask that you tone the description down a bit: sound waves that disorient is enough, bur dictating that people see illusions or that vision follows a particular path is too godmoddy.

So in essence only traits can grant Debuff abilities and Professions which don't grant those traits are not able to create them correct ?

Patriot: Raging Raven: generally inventor AoE discount is limited to actual explosives, not just any gadget they make. Same for Octopus

If AOE for Inventor is limited to explosives that needs to be more clear though because I wouldn't have chosen Inventor Primary if that was the case because this messes with most of the Techs I have

I'd like to note that inventor gadgets are one and done devices: the gauntlet needs to be something he creates and uses for that tech. It isn't a permanent creation you can just wear around everywhere. If you want something like that, you'll have to buy it as an item.

Getting a headache because of this. If I had known that it was like this I would have chosen different professions for my character because I thought Brilliant Mind allowed me to use my TP to create items that could be used. If I have to buy the items then actually use TP to create a Tech for it is a big waste of a Trait for me.

Sounds Like I'll actually have to scoop my character. Do I qualify for a Free Revision Scoop ?

The scoop wouldn't be free, you'd have your 4 month timer, unless the only changes you were making in it were the ones changed by the patch. In which case, a Process Pending would work most likely.

To try and clarify: you can use your gadgets and inventions, including special bullets, in conjunction with your gun. What you can't use them with is other gun techs. A technique has to be self-contained, and while you might be able to use a string of techs to form an effective combo, you can't "merge" techs together to directly combine their effects.

To use the example of an explosive bullet, that technique would involve both creation and firing of said bullet, and would need to include all relevant effects including the range at which it is fired. It could not be used, for example, with a basic long range gun tech and also benefit from long range.

This logic applies to your Patriot glove techs too. The tech involves both creation and use, after which the glove would fall apart or need to be recharged or whatever; one way or the other, the tech would need to be re-used. If you wanted a permanent addition to your arsenal, that's what you actually buy items for.

Inventor gadgets are temporary at best if made and used purely through techniques. They're meant to be stuff that is rapidly assembled, used or deployed, then abandoned or thrown away once they've blown up, snagged someone, pushed them away, etc etc.

To address the other stuff:

Bubblicious: Fine, but still needs power and effects removed since you can't stack those without Critical Hit.

Gooberball: generally inventor range discounts only apply to actual offensive explosives. Regardless, the bigger issue is that its a bind, and we're very cautious about allowing them at range or AoE. Generally we want to mass ranged binds reserved to really special and dedicated things like DFs. That isn't to say that's the only way to get an AoE bind, but it isn't something we're gonna let fly easily, and that applies here. inventor or not, rank 4 AoE bind isn't something I can agree to. R14 or so, sure, but not r4.

Crying Wolf: In essence, yes. Debuffs are quite powerful, and are generally only accessible either through certain profession primaries or specific traits.

Patriot: Raging Raven: The primary bonus for inventor does only mention explosives, not gadgets or techs in general. I will agree with you however that there are a few instances in the rules where it is a little muddied.

Sounds like a scoop was needed to change up those Techniques. Otherwise, I'll have to flag this dead.

Your topic had been denied!
I'm going to be less active as of 9/25/17. Kinda hitting a point where I'm contemplating why I'm here while having a full-time job.
