Amos turned to face the tunnel away from the incline which he had fallen down. Or was it a decline? Amos supposed it had to do with one’s perspective. He began to walk through the pitch-black darkness of the caves.

He was so far in the caves that he could no longer hear the sounds coming from the Auction House. He had no idea where he was, but it seemed like he was quickly getting further and further from Don or the boy who had been screaming earlier. The sound hadn’t sounded like it had come from below him. Amos walked until the tunnel diverged into two in front of him. The left path led towards an area of complete darkness, just like the path Amos had come from. The path on the right, however, led towards an area with a tiny bit of light in it. Shrugging, Amos began to walk towards the path with a little bit of light. He had no idea where he was and light sounded slightly better than the path with no light.

Truth be told, Amos was beginning to feel slightly anxious. He might be lost in these caves forever if things kept going this way. He was far below the ground on an unknown island. The worst part was that Don was in a possibly hostile environment. Granted, he had made the environment hostile but it was still not good. They were a crew. He couldn’t leave his friend behind.

Amos eventually made it to the area with a smell circle of light on the ground. He tilted his head upwards to inspect the source and found a hole in the rock far above him. The light was shining through the hole. Amos glanced around him and saw, much to his surprise, a small plant with a fruit on it growing in the single spot of sunlight. Amos bent down and plucked the fruit. It was strange looking, with a camouflage pattern on it. The fruit shimmered as he moved it across the air, seemingly blending in with whatever was in the background.

“Interest-“ Amos began before he heard a massive splash from somewhere nearby. Startled, Amos jumped upwards. His foot caught on a root of the nearby plant, causing Amos to faceplant with the fruit directly in front of his face. Somehow, the fruit slammed entirely in his mouth. He swallowed.

OOC Note

Figured I should go for a comedic one piecish way of eating the fruit

The crashing of Gran into the water echoed near and far. It was loud enough to disrupt the various active patterns of the creatures around, and directly incapacitated Gran. The blow was stiff, unlike anything he'd ever felt. All at once he was compressed and then released. He could feel his eyes press into the back of his head, and the breath he have pushed from every cell of his body. Luckily the pain and his consciousness only lingered for a short moment before he was cradled to the depths of the raging waters below. White tides raged in the dark cave. Carring the child through the inner catacombs of other disparaged inhabitants of the island, the water went who knows where. Who cared. As long as he as the water didnt carry him back to slavery, is likely what he would say once he awoke. The situation he was placed in surely would have been deadly to any regular human. Passing out in white tides meant drowning to death. Of course gran could breath underwater, it was one upside to the benefit of being part fishman. Also the water here carved the rocks so smooth that he wouldnt have to struggle much with jagged stones. All rocks that may have speared the waters or made it treacherous for living creatures had been worn down to sand or indescriminate pebbles, washed to sea.

Entombed by water, the red child would be carrying down slopes and winding snakes, his body unaware of where he went, but comfortable enough to not wake. He felt almost at home, his body did. The wettness felt like the embrace of a mother, even if it sounded like the rage of a stormy sea. Beneath the tides, everything just seemed, perfect.

Gran would be carried a considerable distance, up, down, and around the cave system. Hed even manage to flow beside a certain archer, although the darkness made things all the more difficult to spot him or anything in this cave. So, the red child flowed with the water, to the place all water eventually returns. The mother of life, the origin of love, the unforgiving but forever nourishing sea.

Amos gagged and tried to spit out the fruit. It tasted awful! What was that flavor? It was almost like he swallowed a can of paint. Amos knew not to eat random berries and the like in the forest. Hell, he had memorized most of the berries that were poisonous or not on his home island. He had no clue what this strange fruit was. It was entirely possible that it would poison and kill him within an hour. Only…Amos didn’t feel like he was dying. His body did feel strange, however. It felt like he could…do something, though he had no idea what. Amos clicked the button on his headphones.

“Hey, Alex. You there? Has Don showed up?” The signal would be broadcast from the Den Den Mushi in the headphones back to the ship’s Den Den Mushi, where they had left Alex. Amos was hoping Don had managed to make it back to the ship by this point. After-all, it had been a decent amount of time since they had split up.

Amos waited and received no answer. Cursing, Amos kicked outwards. His foot hit metal, though it wasn’t solid. He heard the cannister (filled with whatever, or nothing) bounce down the cave. At the end, it made a strange noise, as if it had hit something hollow. Amos sighed and decided that there was no harm in checking out the noise. After-all, he didn’t know the way out of this cave and there was no reason to stay still until he received an answer. He had specially made the headphones to have the ability to send a signal throughout the same sea he was in, so the boat shouldn’t be out of its range. However, there was always the possibility that the cave was interfering in some way. He didn’t know enough about the strange white rock that was surrounding him.

Amos hurried over and found the strange can. It was laying on the ground next a carapace of some kind. It was the size of a person. Apprehensive, Amos nudged the carapace with his foot. It was light and moved easily. It seemed that whatever had left it behind had left long ago. Amos bent down and fumbled in the darkness for the strange cannister. He picked it up. It was light…but…was it growing heavier? Amos could feel…something happening to the hand that held it. He brought the increasingly heavy cannister to his face to look at it closer. It wasn’t heavy, per se, just heavier. The cannister itself seemed to be completely normal, though it definitely held something now. Curious, Amos found the lid and broke it open. Strange, nearly clear, liquid poured out and fell onto Amos’ feet, the rocks around him, and the carapace. Confused, Amos looked down at the liquid. He thought it was perhaps water; where would the water have come from, though? It made no sense.

Amos couldn’t see his legs and the rocks were completely missing. The carapace looked as if a hole had been burned completely through its center. He could see the rocks on the other side. Amos screamed in terror. He had no idea what had happened but he somehow created some corrosive liquid.

Except, he could still feel his legs and they didn’t hurt. After a second, Amos reached down and ran his hand along his invisible leg. It was still there. Amos glanced at the can again, eyebrows furrowed. What in the…wait. Amos paused. He had heard people mentioning a devil fruit that allowed one to control colors. Could this devil fruit be the one they had talked about? If so, they clearly misunderstood what it did. This wasn’t corrosive liquid but neither was it exactly the ability to control colors. Amos sniffed the can in order to attempt to confirm his suspicions. He grimaced from the smell of the liquid, concentrated as it was inside the canister.

It was paint. Paint that could turn one invisible? Or paint that would match the colors of whatever was behind it? Devil Fruits were near impossible to understand. Hell, Amos had thought they were nothing more than fairy tails mere hours ago. He had never met anyone with the power of a Devil’s Fruit and the stories the villagers had told…well, they had been the kind of stories mother’s told their children to get them to obey.

Now, he was a Devil Fruit user. Amos smiled slightly. The only Devil Fruit user’s story he could remember clearly was that of the previous Pirate King. The man made of rubber, or so they said. Amos looked up to him. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. Though, if rumors were to be believed, Amos no longer possessed the ability to swim. That could be problematic as a Pirate.

Amos turned and thought he saw something on the other side of the carapace. Something floating in the water. Amos wasn’t sure but it didn’t look like a human. It didn’t look like a bug either.

It was so difficult to see, but Amos thought it may have been Don sticking out of the water slightly. Of course, Amos had almost no information to base this off. In fact, it had almost no chance of being true. Amos, however, was hopeful. After-all, there had been some sort of river running beneath the auction house and there was that explosion which put a hole in the floor. Don could have fallen in and have been pushed around by the river all this time.

Amos began running after the river. He could hardly see, which proved troublesome as he attempted to navigate passageways that the river ran through. Multiple times, Amos had to shoot his grappling hook across a narrow passageway because there was no room beside the river for him to follow. He couldn’t help but grimace as it carried him over. After-all, he could no longer swim. He would die if he fell into the water. Amos followed the river throughout all of this, until he eventually arrived at a place were sunlight flowed down from more than a hole in the ceiling. He was outside, and at the sea. Amos smiled and began to scan the sea for Don.

Flowing with the river the boy would eventually manage to float his red ass towards the sun. His saddened osu sticking out like...a sore red thumb against the backdrop of a pure white river bottom. The water began to slow, but the boys body would begin to head towards a bay of the same fresh clear waters. The blow from his body had been cleared, but the aches, pain, and taste of battle were still with him. Initially the young Saiken didn't feel very much at all, actually, he'd not felt much outside of the wet touch of the motherly water. For a few minutes that was the only prevailing feeling, until the heat of the sun, and the warmer waters opened his pores, and kissed his skin through fractured water. Sore all over, the child's eyes would eventually open but they w ouldnt be able to see much. His golden locks and iris lazily drifted across his surrounding. It was unfamiliar, but the boy was not startled. He felt alone and somehow he felt happy. His body hurt tremedously, but it was pain that he could get over. The boy somehow innately felt all of this at once. He also felt the alien like, lack of weight on his wrists or ankles. He felt so light, his body weight even more weightless than it would above ground. The boy felt like he was free to live. A small toothy grin began to full the water, that bloodied grin losing it colors as the water washed the crimson from his gums.

His vision would turn to se a radiant sun above him, burning his eyes, but he didn't want to turn away. Managing to get upright, the boys body faced the oncoming tides, his feet dug into the ground, and he raised his fists above the water. His little hands just barely managing to break the surface. The boy wept, but his tears were washed away. With wide open eyes and mouth, the boy took a large oull of the water around him, then, he'd let out a scream that wouldn't leave the water.

"Freedom!" the boy stated as he roared beneath the still somewhat rapid waves. Obviously the boy was unaware to the presence of anyone around him. And so he wouldn't do much to keep him presence hidden. He would only focus on his joy for this moment. Since the many moments following would likely be filled with hiding and further retreat, this time into the sea. Making it out of the slavers auction was only a tiny battle, though one worth celebrating.

Amos stretched in the sun. He had no idea how long he was in the cave but his body ached from the constant movement. He really hadn’t done much fighting. Seeing no sign of Don, Amos glanced downwards. The bottom half of his legs really were invisible. He had managed to drench his legs in paint from the knee down and, so, they were invisible from that point downwards.

“Very interesting” Amos muttered. He wasn’t sure when he was in the darkness that he was truly invisible, but he could see directly through his legs. It was like they weren’t there, except they were. Amos began pondering the ramifications of this ability of his. What could he turn invisible? Clearly he could turn organic matter invisible and he thought[ he had turned the rocks in the cave invisible but he couldn’t be sure due to the darkness. Could he make himself invisible, bow and arrow and all? If so, this ability would make him a far better Hunter. Amos pondered. He would need to work on his ability to move silently if he wanted to truly stay hidden. He would also need to work on firing his bow in an even more stealthy manner. After-all, he was a hunter. If he wanted to be the best hunter then he would need to make sure that he wouldn’t be seen.

With this….I can invade Mariejois….I can destroy the establishment of the Celestial Dragons. They can’t stop me, Amos thought in wonder. Of course, the man was unaware of the ability known as Haki that powerful individuals could use to find him despite his invisibility. He had also never ran into a Zoan user, so he didn’t know that there existed people out there who could use smell or sound to detect him despite his best efforts.

Suddenly, Amos heard someone yell. It sounded like the boy from the caves before. Amos broke out of his monologue and looked at the ocean. There was a red Fishman out there, and he looked young.

“Hey! Do you need help?” Amos hollered across the water to him. It wasn’t like Amos could go in the water to help him, but perhaps he could help him in some other way. Had he yelled Freedom? “Were you a slave?”

Almost immediately, the boy would be bombarded by another. It appeared that Gran would be in yet another predicament. How could he have been found so fucking early into his escape. There was literally no time to even enjoy his freedom before another land walker came along to spoil it. Hearing the man talk, the boy choked on his breath of water. The slight bit of tears that were draining him ceased, and his face became as hard as the stone of the Gesso caves. Rapidly eithdrawing his libs the boy looked in the direction of the voice, it sounded muffled to the red eared fish thanks to the running water and of course him being submerged. Despire this, the boy was able to pick up on what was said. He sneered at the words spoken. Whoever this person they couldnt be allowed to know where and whk Gran was. Even as a child it was prettt clear that being alone wpuld only benifit his cause of staying free. Gran had a sinking feeling in the pit of his chest. It was as though he'd lost his life again. Whoever this man was, he was a threat to what the kid had just gone through, and so he needed to be silenced.

Following the direction of the man's voice, Gran would exit the water, slowly he would emerge, first his head, and then his body. Grants eyes were laser focused on Amos, and the very odd state in which his body was left in. The boy was definitely confused by what he saw, but he couldn't allow himself to be taken off guard. Hed have to pretend as though this didn't phase him. The slightest hint of weakness would lead him to being captured again. It would lead to bondage indefinitely, bondage that he surely wouldn't easily escape. The boys arms were firmly placed at his side at this point and he'd make a slow approach until he was exactly 5 meters from Amos.

"It doesn't matter...who I am. Who are you..." Gran was pretty dry with his comments, almost as though he wasn't really talking to anyone. The way hue spoke sounded a bit broken and rough, almost as though he wasn't well spoke, which he wasn't, at all.

Amos stood there and watched, expecting some sort of response from the Fishman out in the water. He was slightly confused what was taking him so long. Slowly, but surely, Amos saw the fishman making his way towards him. While he waited, Amos pressed the button on his Den Den Mushi headphones and talked into them in a normal tone. Of course, his normal tone would have been imperceptible to the fishman who was still submerged in the water at this point.

“Hey, Alex. You there?” No answer. “Where the fuck are you, Alex.” Amos muttered as he clicked off the Den Den Mushi. He couldn’t help but worry about his friend. They had caused a large amount of ruckus with the underground of the island. Undoubtedly, there would be payback if Don hadn’t already taken care of all of them.

Then, Amos saw the crimson Fishman(boy?) approaching. He walked slowly out of the water, and Amos waited for him. He was shorter than Amos, but he was well stocked. His height was one of the only clues Amos had towards his age. Don was one of the only Fishman that Amos has had extended contact with and he really didn’t feel comfortable judging age based on their appearance. Hell, for all Amos knew this could just be a relatively short fishman. The creature had unusually long blonde hair, like Amos’ own, that fell down to his knees – Amos’ hair was nowhere near that long. The body of the fishman was surprisingly strong looking. Amos had to admit that Fishman were naturally strong but the strength this short one seemed to possess made Amos think that it might not be a child, after-all.

As he approached, Amos began to feel as if this wasn’t going to go the way he had anticipated. He waited for the fishman to stop moving; however, his muscles tensed in the meantime. He was ready to get back if he needed to since the Fishman had yet to utter a word.

And then, he did. The fishman spoke in broken sentences. They were more fragments than sentences, truth be told. The words were rather vague, but the intent shone through despite this. The Fishman was curious who Amos was. The fact that he said it didn’t matter who he was, was a bad sign. It came off – to Amos – as slightly confrontational. Why would he hide from Amos? Amos had already offered his help.

“My name is Amos.” Amos said simply, trying to not speak too quickly or with too many words so as not to overload the creature. Amos could only assume that its receptive skills were around a similar level to his expressive skills. That is, they probably weren’t very good. Amos wasn’t aware that his tone could possibly be taken as condescending with the slow and deliberate speech patterns that he was using. Amos then followed up with another question. “What are you doing here?”

He couldn’t help but be curious about how the Fishman arrived on this island. Eventually, Amos would invite him back to the ship for some food. Don would kill him if he left a Fishman outside to starve.

Gran would Stan opposed to the land walker with his obscuring much of his face. From his temples two horns would protrude from the golden mass on his head. Gran w asnt much of a speaker, however he was decently good at interpreting physical movements of those around him. While definitely nowhere near any level of professional body language interpretation, the kid had spent a good chunk of time around sailors, slaves, and other desperate individuals. So, he'd become quite acquainted with the many tell tale signs of an abuser or someone intending to do harm. Even if Amos hadn't show much in the way of aggresive behavior, yet, he was still someone that could simply be putting forth an elaborate ruse, or show. Gran had been witness to many acts of supposed kindness and mercy by slave owners that would be shown to be untrue. Hed seen men give up information to a slave owner when provided a chance for his own freedom, only to be fed to sharks not a day later. On another occasion he'd seen a man bargain his own life in slavery to spare his beloved, only for both to end up in bondage, and the lover to be made a slave to men's earthly desires. Gran had experienced too much as a child, far too much to allow any stone to be left unturned, any possibility to be left ignored.

The boy would snap at the words spoken by this Amos. "Me...? Wh-ay...
Ar-h.... Yu-h.... He-ere? Ah...mos...
The young fishmen spoke loudly despite his short stature. Leaning forward a bit pointing the crown of his head, and his upward angled adolescent horns in the direction of the paramecia user. Hair began to shift and slide over his shoulders and fond themselves covering the front of the child. Leaving his red body clocked in a sopping wet curly sea of blond. Gran appeared ready to fight. It appeared that there would be confrontation if Amos played his cards right, that being said, Gran was fearing for his own safety, and even the slightest of missteps would lead to an attack. Gran would see a den den mucho in the hand of Amos, but he hadn't heard the man use it. Maybe men were already on their way, maybe his freedom was already lost. From behind a curtain of golden locks, the boys large eyes sharpened.

Amos waited for a response to his question but the Fishman redirected it back towards him again. He was starting to feel annoyed by the lack of clarity from the Fishman’s answers. Well, from his non-answers. Amos didn’t really feel like answering the beast’s questions.

This was reinforced when he saw the creature lean forward, as if preparing to gore Amos with his horns. The boy looked like a large red bull and triggered something within Amos. Amos still wasn’t sure of the creature’s age and hoped it wasn’t a child. Either way, though, Amos felt his Fight or Flight instincts kick into high gear as the weapons were pointed towards him. Amos body tightened and he took a slow step backwards. His instinct wasn’t to flee but to fight. The problem was that this creature was extremely close. If things went downhill, Amos would need to be able to retaliate quickly. He had no idea of the capabilities of his would-be enemy but Amos knew he didn’t want to be speared by those horns of his.

As Amos took his step back, he considered a few different things. The first was how to not make this end in a fight. The creature was clearly on edge; however, Amos wasn’t sure what he had done to spark this reaction in him. That made it difficult to calm him down. He had asked about why Amos was here. Perhaps he should answer the beast after-all? The other thing he was considering was the best way to get out of here. He was unused to using this invisibility paint or whatever it was of his but…. What if he made himself completely invisible? He’d be able to get his distance then if a fight came down to it. The only way to become invisible quickly enough would be to smash the container.

Finally deciding to answer his question, Amos spoke “I’m looking for someone. He’s a fishman named Don”

The boys eyes sharpened as he heard the response from Amos. Bother eyes would nearly become mere slits in his skull. Amos had a peculiar look about him, a den den, and now odd motivations. The kid clearly put things together. This Amos must work for the slavers. There is no other reason why partly invisible man, dressed in the clothes he was, would be outside looking for fishmen. The red fishmen leaned in further, now angling his horns to be nearly parallel to the wet sandy ground beneath him. Lurching over the ground, droplets of water vanished beneath a bed of white sands. Placing a hand on the ground, the boy began to ready himself for Amos. The man clearly had I'll intent at this point. Fishmen were worth a lot in these seas, even if they weren't as valuable as they would be in the blues, here they could still be purchased and sold for a higher wage elsewhere. Or worked to death either by malisciousness or lust. Men of the land had no decency for their neighbors below the tides. They sought only lustful ends with their bodies. Hard forced labor, extraction of rare body parts, experimentation, impregnation, whatever desire they could not get away with on land, they sought to gorge on with children of the water. Gran had seen this with his very eyes, heard it with his very ears, felt it for many months. These memories, and fears were very true, and a guide for the actions that would take place next. The boy took a breath of fresh air, drawing it deep into his lungs. Savoring the warm mist on his tongue.

You...will not...find...fishmen. Yu-h will....not...take me! that being ssid, the boy would charge forward with all the speed, and all the strength that he had. The sand was not the best siurface to generate force upon, but the boys snappy movements and muscular build allowed him to compress the sand enough with a lunge that he wouldn't be hampered too much. Charging directly toward Amos, the boy would take large strides after his initial lunge. With his head bent forward, and his arms serving as additional legs, the child raced towards Amos, hoping to secure freedom by silencing this assumed slave master.

Amos watched the Fishman as he lowered his head but didn’t respond. Amos’ mind began to race frantically. Apparently, he had said the wrong thing. Either that or this creature was driven insane from some form of torture he had received at the hands of the slavers.

Will not find fishmen? Will not take him? This person thinks I’m a slaver! How the hell do I clear this misunderstanding up? Amos thought as he looked at the Fishman. Amos quickly reached into his pocket and withdrew the canister full of paint. He needed to get out of range of this guy before he could even think about making things a little less volatile or hostile between them.

Sadly, Amos was too slow at his reaction. The same moment Amos withdrew the canister of paint, the Fishman charged. He was slow but each step seemed to radiate the kind of power that Amos had come to expect from Fishman. The creature ran on all fours, head bent down as if to gore Amos.

Amos responded quickly as he sidestepped the raging beast. It was too slow to do any damage but Amos could feel the power as he moved out of the creature’s way. If those horns had hit him, Amos would likely be bleeding out on the beach right now. Amos grit his teeth as he considered reaching for his bow. He could end this by putting an arrow through this creature’s skull…only, could he actually do that? This Fishman was a slave only recently. He was not a marine and was only doing what he thought was best to defend himself. He wanted to live in freedom, nothing more. Amos lowered his hand, knowing full well that he wouldn’t be able to shoot this Fishman with the intent to kill. Instead, he began to shake the canister in his right hand. Once shaken to make sure there was some pressure buildup, Amos threw the canister as hard as he could towards the ground at his feet. If it went as planned, the canister would break open, spraying paint everywhere in a barrage and turning him and anything else in its range invisible.

Grans charge attack narrowly failed. His horns would strike thin air, luckily for The child his perception was on par with his speed. Also luckily for The child, he was about as perceptive and speedy as a full grown man. Which made things rather good given his overwhelming strength advantage over most. In the future, when and if the boy managed to develop a greater understanding of his own body, he'd be a massive threat to most. But now his little adolescent body was only focused on Amos. The slave hunter was agile, that made sense. They'd have to send someone with some semblance of speed to catch up to property that may have ran anywhere. The man that Gran faced seemed to be a slippery fellow, one that wouldn't be so easily be defeated. Grain raised his head up, stretching his neck high after he'd failed strike Amos. The man had only sidestepped a short distance and began trying something new. Given the short distance between the two, Gran would not let up. Charging the man again, this time with a wide stance, to crowd and capture Amos. While Amos shook a canister idly, the boy used his "slow" speed to propel him forward. Trans thoughts were to simply suffocate the man with his reliable strength. There wasn't much else needed when facing the average opponent, which this partially invisible man still appeared to be. Some speed, some accuracy, all of that wasn't really impressive unless there was something behind it.

Moving at full speed, the boys arms were wide, given that there was only a sidestep taken by Amos, the child w ouldnt have to do much I order to position his torso towards Amos as he let loose. His target was within grasp, and whatever he was doing with the canister couldn't be that bad right? The proximity of the blast would perfectly douse the boy, much of the sand in a short area around Amos in some strange liquid. The boy felt a heavy sting, but nothing that he couldn't bide through. With his intentions firmly focused on freedom, he attacked.

Amos felt the paint wash over him. For a moment, he couldn’t see what was happening through the miniature blast of paint. Then, he could see. Only, there appeared to be nothing around them whatsoever. Even the sand beneath his feet appeared to have a small layer of invisibility on it. The only problem that Amos could see? His opponent was completely invisible, as well. Amos tried to place where he was, but he was disoriented. He hadn’t expected the blast to be as large as it was. An invisible opponent became much more dangerous.

Amos glanced downwards as an idea struck him. They were on sand. Surely the fishman would leave footprints. Amos quickly found the footprints that he was expecting to see. The problem was they were charging directly for where Amos currently was. Amos barely withheld a curse as he tried to jump out of the way. He may have made it if he could have seen his enemy. After-all, he was pretty quick. The problem was that he couldn’t see where exactly he was. He could only make a rough approximation from the footsteps in the sand. As he jumped, he felt something slam into him. He wasn’t sure what part of the Fishman it was – the fishman was invisible, after-all, but the creature had enough strength that it didn’t matter. Amos flew backwards, landing with a solid thump on his butt. He felt his air escape his lungs momentarily as he landed. Amos looked around and quickly reached up and drew his bow. It was easier to find than he had expected. Apparently constant practice of drawing the bow and some arrows with it had drilled the muscles to know where to grab. Amos looked at the spot where he had last seen the footsteps of Gran and fired.

Unbeknownst to Amos, the arrow he had grabbed was one of the arrows that could grow a tree. If the arrow hit, it would surely slow Gran down. Invisible or not, Amos knew generally where to hit to do the most damage. If it missed, well, then they would have to deal with a massive tree growing in the middle of their battlefield. That wouldn’t be the worst thing for Amos, either.

Just a regular freeform arrow shot, though I am applying Ansatsuken to it for that nice -8 speed debuff

Gran managed to strike the body of the invisible man, but without realizing it he had become as invisible as the slaver. However the child didn't realize it at all. He was just solely focused on freeing himself. Sadly Amos would dissapear just as the canisters of paint coated the two. Gran would only see the the imprint of Amos falling into the ground. That was the only way he was even going to figure where the archer was. A short sound and and swish later, the boy would feel a arrow fly through his torso. Nearly passing completely through his body. The wood would make it about three fourth's of the way through him before expanding and consuming him. The child would one again slip into unconsciiusness as the bow rapidly grew. What was lodged into his torso grew and pierced the rear of his abdomen, shoulder, head, limbs, and torso before he was enveloped by the tree itself. The child perhapse would have been able to counteract these effects with his physical strength, but as he was innately weakened by the blow he would be unable to even combat the forces of the enveloping tree.

Even eight year olds were susceptible to deadly force. Fishmen were assumed to be deadlier than they were, older than they were. Lethal force was always taken when fear was the deciding factor. Grand body was skewered with about half of his torso being constricted by the growing wood. Leaving a large bloody tree, with the imprint of a large bloody obscured blotch where he would be seen if he was properly visible. The young Saiken would taken shallow breaths, completely falling from consciousness as he felt his very freedom squeezed, shot, and stabbed from him. It appeared that not all Saikens were m esnt to survive in the world, and that even with a greater base ability than most, they were still susceptible to harsh violence and snap judgements.

Amos watched, eyes wide as the scene developed before him. The arrow stopped, seemingly in midair. Evidently his aim had been true. Then, Amos saw the blood. It was just a little bit, at first. After-all, an arrow doesn’t produce that large of a wound most of the time so they didn’t bleed much unless it hit a vital spot. Then, the tree began to sprout forth. Amos couldn’t speak as he watched the tree growing. He hadn’t meant to do that! It was too much! Amos began to run forward, moving slower than he normally would have because of the pain in his side. The man had been able to hit with much more force than he had expected. It was what he imagined being hit by Don would have felt like.

Still, he didn’t want him to die. He had wanted to subdue the man so that he could try to calm him down! As Amos stumbled towards the tree. He couldn’t see exactly where the creature was, but the initially small amount of blood had increased to a much larger volume. The now blood-soaked tree left a spot in it, almost as if a small fishman body was preventing it from growing in that spot.

“No!” He yelled. This creature was no marine. It was an innocent! Amos looked around for something, anything, that he could use to begin breaking down the wood. He needed to free him from the wood and get him help before he died. Amos cast a furtive glance towards the bloody tree. That amount of blood left him very worried for the survivability of his opponent. Amos began to run his hands along the tree until he found the fishman’s body. It was difficult as he had no idea how the tree had constricted and impaled him. Amos began to try to maneuver the body in whatever way he could. If only he had an axe so he could chop the tree down!

Amos couldn’t help but hate himself for firing that arrow. As he maneuevered the fishman, he kept repeating to himself that he didn’t know which arrow he had grabbed. It was invisible. Was that an excuse though? Was it a proper excuse and should he accept it? The more Amos asked himself that question, the more he realized that it wasn’t. The arrow was shaped and looked different than his normal arrows. If he had taken a split second more to make sure he had grabbed the correct arrow, then this wouldn’t have gone this way. One second. That is all it would have taken to perhaps save this fishman’s life. At the very best, that second would have prevented him from gaining grievous wounds.

As Amos worked, he broke branches and plied bark away. He wasn’t strong enough to completely break the tree, but Amos tried. He eventually reached up and grabbed an arrow. Snapping the arrowhead off the shaft, he began to chip at the wood around the bow with every attempt to release him. Time seemed to be moving quickly to Amos; however, it had not been very long since the tree grew. The adrenaline was disrupting his normal perception of time and driving him to move faster and be stronger than normal.

He had to save this Fishman’s life!

After a few minutes – a few minutes that felt like hours – Amos managed to pry the invisible and bloody body free from the tree. At a certain point he had been forced to break parts of the wood off. Amos’ hands were bloody but he couldn’t tell if it was from attempting to free the boy or if it was the boy’s blood.

He didn’t care. Amos didn’t know any real first aid but he knew enough that he needed to stop the bleeding. He took off articles of clothing and shoved it in whatever holes he could find. It was difficult, as the boy was still invisible. Amos didn’t know how to get rid of the invisibility and he didn’t have time to experiment and figure out what was going on. If the boy didn’t wake up or stop any of the following from happen, Amos would heft the bloody body onto his shoulders, feeling that it was surprisingly light. The boy was shorter than Amos but not more so than an average adult female.

Amos began to ran but the abnormally light body made Amos’ mind race. What if this wasn’t a full grown Fishman that happened to be a little short? What if it was a child! Fishman could be tall creatures. Most had the propensity to be quite a bit larger than humans. Had Amos misjudged the situation entirely? His feet continued to pound the ground as he ran.

Eventually, Amos found the town that they had landed in originally. It looked much the same as he had remembered it being. He began to run through the streets, screaming at the top of his lungs.

“Help! I need help! Is there a doctor!”

Amos wasn’t sure what the others would see. He was invisible, as was the boy on his shoulders. The child on his shoulders. However, the blood would have made their outlines visible. It would have shown them as red figures running – no, floating – through the streets bellowing for help. People began to stop and stare but Amos didn’t notice anyone making a move to get a doctor. Eventually, though, it didn’t matter. Amos took a sharp right turn as he found a building that said it was a doctor’s office. The inside of the building was nice, but not abnormally nice. Amos didn’t care. There were a few people in the waiting room when he barged in.

These gave startled gasps as the bloody ghosts barreled through, not even bothering to stop at the reception desk. No one stopped them. After-all, who would stop two invisible but bloody people from running. They probably thought they were seeing things.

Amos barged into an exam room and place Gran on the table within the room. He stuck his head out the door and bellowed “We need a doctor in here!”

OOc Note

Dang! Didn't wanna almost kill the boy! Since you were unconscious, I took the liberty of getting you to the doctor. Hope I didn't cross any lines.
