Don ran down the hall, searching rooms only to come up empty handed. Where are they holding the slaves? His train of thought was cut short as some men yelled from behind him. Don's eyes widened and a light-bulb went off in the back of his head.

"I've got you now-" The triumphant shouts of the slave auction's guards were cut short as Don used his tail like a club and slammed the men onto the ground.

"Yeah, yeah. I've heard that enough already." The fishman glanced around to find someone who was conscious, gripping them by the collar and pulling them close. "Where's all the slaves?"

Don glared into the man's eyes and slapped his tail against a wall. "Th-they're being held in a holding room. It's just a bit further down. They were being prepped before being given to the person who bough them."

Don grunted as he heard the man speak of people like goods. A thud sounded out as his body flew against a wall, Don standing up and turning his head. Can't be much further down..

The fishman continued on his path before reaching a room with noises from within it. Voices of confusion, fear, anger, and even some other sounds emitted from behind it. Don reached his hand out to open the door when it up swung open and an irritated guard stepped out. He stopped in his tracks as he saw Don standing right in front of him, both standing motionless as they saw each
other.

In an instant the man's right hand suddenly shot down to grab his gun from his waist, Don reacting as well and slamming the gun away with his tail. Don grabbed the guy's neck tightly and walked forwards while shoving the man to the side. Is this it?

His eyes adjusted to the light inside, Don glancing inside at the place. His grip on the man's neck grew tighter and the guard passed out, but Don didn't even notice as he stood there and looked inside. His anger grew as he saw men hitting and chaining up various haggard and bruised slaves. He remembered some things he didn't want to remember, grinding his teeth and stepping inside. Heads turned as Don hurled the guard's body across the room, breaking a flimsy table in half.

Amos looked around him. Other hallways were being locked down. The crowd was growing steadily more aggressive, though they were avoiding Amos. His bow was held at the ready and he had one hand placed on his quiver. Many heads were turned towards him, as if wondering what he was doing there. His clothes were all white so they probably took him for a local. That would explain their confusion at why he just shot one of them in the back of the head.

Amos looked around. He could have sworn he had seen Don mere moments ago but he seemed to have gotten away somehow. How had he missed that? No matter, he had to be close by since all of the doors were locked. Another fishman, this one appeared to be pretty young. He could have been a child, perhaps, was being beaten on and attacked by the crowd. Amos could see no other exits that may possibly take them out of the room. That meant they only had two options.

The first option was to kill everyone in the room and then break down the doors when they didn’t have to worry about being attacked. Amos wasn’t a huge fan of that option. He was excited to use a bow again, even if it meant killing someone, but he was not a cold blooded murderer. Not everyone in this room likely deserved death - though some surely did.

Amos’ hand slid onto a arrow in the back of his quiver. He could tell that it was different from the feel of the wood. This particular arrow was made out of wood and that provided the arrow with a grainier texture than his Adam wood arrows.

This arrow was special. Amos had received it some time ago aboard a boat dedicated to santamas. Amos didn’t celebrate that holiday but he was there to see how they celebrated. He was also hoping to catch a glimpse of the Oak King. Sadly, the Oak King s replaced the Holly King. Somehow, Amos had ended up with three separate arrows that seemed to blessed by the Oak King himself.

Amos grabbed one of these arrows. He did another quick glance around, being wary of the crowd. The arrow held them off for now but how long was it before they just relied on their numbers to try to take Amos done. He wasn’t quick enough at shooting his bow to handle them all at once.

He aimed the arrow at the crowd that was attacking the fish boy. Aiming towards the ground beneath their feet, Amos let the arrow loose. If it hit, then the arrow would rapidly grow a massive oak tree. With the height of the ceiling, Amos was hoping it would put enough pressure to crack the ceiling and get an impromptu escape route.

Struggling as adults wailed on his face, the boy wouldn't be able to handle much of anything. It wasn't until a tree began to magically sprout beside him that the boy would be given any leverage and opportunity in this fight. A man punching was thrown off balance by the aforementioned magic tree, his fist would lose a considerable amount of power as he was pushed forward. Using the moment of additional reaction time, the boy would chomp down on the attackers fist, simultaneously he'd dig his claws into the obliques of the man holding him. He tore into the mans sides, pulling and twisting his palms as though he were twisting a large top. As the tree expanded, and the two attackers realized they were being torn by the boys strength, Gran would kick off the expanding tree. Pushing himself back on top of the man who had hoisted him into the air. The tearing of flesh and the hard smack against the ground allowed the child to free himself, for a few moments things were calm. The tree had become the focal point of things for long enough For gran to even admire it's strange appearance. The tree grew and grew, growing large enough to begin piercing the concrete ceiling above.

However thinsg wouldn't go so favorable in that respect. The people here were a notable distance underground, a good enough amount for there to be no freedom above, instead there was soil, mud, stone, and water. This island was fairly advanced when compared to the general level of poverty the world was in. There was plumbing installed into this facility, and plumbing of course meant pipes. A main sewage and water line would be torn asunder by the tree as it burrowed into the ground. Spewing raw sewage and clean water to the ground upon the pristine white auction house. Gran watched this unfold in amusement and terror. HE hand't any way out, same as the rest. Now the area was being filled with both toxic an d purifying elements. Their expulsion from the ceiling enough to shower those near the tree. Running from the area to the much dryer holding area's the boy would take another chance at freedom now that things had become even more chaotic.

Gran would notice the head of this auction had vanished in this event, likely to save his own skin.

"Who are you!?" An elderly man shouted, stepping up. A vein was bulging on his forehead as he glared at Don. The man was white from head to toe, a clear indicator that he was a Gesso Island local. No doubt he was one of the people which organised this whole auction.

The slaves in the room grew rowdy in confusion of who Don was and why he was here. He had just thrown a guard of this auction, was he here to help them? "Shut up you scum!" The elderly man shouted at the slaves, slapping the face of a young boy who was nearby. His gaze turned to the guards in the room as he yelled, "You idiots! Train them better! How could we possibly ship off such untamed products!" The old white slaver shouted orders to the guards in the room, instantly making the men turn their attention away from Don in fear. It was almost like a 7 foot fishman hadn't just barged in. The guards instantly began whipping the slaves, red gashes showing up on their bodies.

Don was speechless at the show of complete and utterly careless cruelty the men exhibited. Well, if this was a show of cruelty; Don wouldn't be outdone. The fishman snorted in disdain as he bent ever so slightly, right foot kicking off as he sprinted towards the old man. The elderly man turned back to Don and casually looked on as the fishman sped at him. "Dirty fish scum!" Don just then noticed a coiled whip in the man's right hand as he flicked it out. The leather whip snapped out at an incredible speed, snapping Don's right foot with extreme precision as he was running. His body thudded against the ground, Don rolling over and stumbling back in fear.

Who is this old man? Don already dealt with another whip user back near the stage, but he wasn't able to learn how to fight against one. He beat the guy with a sneak attack, and that wasn't an option this time. How will I beat him?

The tree began to grow. Amos hadn’t used the magical arrows before, other than to test what they did. He had immediately felt that something was different about them. The Oak tree grew at an incredible pace.

People began to get pulled up as the tree grew from the ground. Around Amos, some people gasped in surprise. Others screamed. The very rare minority of them turned to state at Amos. These few had seen Amos fire the arrow mere seconds before the massive tree began to grow in the center of the room. They didn’t quite understand but they knew he was to blame.

Amos could hear these few begin to whisper and make way for him. Amos wasn’t sure why they fleets acting reverently towards him until he looked at the tree. It was grown from his arrow and it was an oak tree but...it looked completely normal. Everything else on this island was white but Amos had just created a green and brown tree in the middle of an underground room.

He began to walk forward, his eyes on the tree growing in the middle of the room. Amos had tested this once before and he knew the tree was nowhere near it’s full height yet. Then, Amos heard a crunch and a crash. The tree was attempting to grow through the ceiling. It appeared to be concrete of some kind. Amos hadn’t tested how destructive the tree could be when growing. Would it be able to break through?

It did. The tree dig into the ceiling but...that was it. Nothing happened for a moment until water began to pour downwards. Amos backed up, barely avoiding the spray of water. He doubted that it would be counted as rain so it would probably slip past the invisible umbrella that protected him from weather.

Amos continued backing up until he was at the highest and driest point he could find. The water was pouring expediently into the room. The puddle on the floor was quickly turning into a lake. The worst part, though, was the unbearable stench of the water. Amos recognized the smell almost immediately. It smelled identical to the smell during his last foray into a sewer during Loguetown. He must have broken a sewage pipe overhead. The people in the room ran around, banging on the doors asking for them to be opened up. Amos wasn’t sure if the room would be completely filled or not but he could tell why these people were so eager to escape the room. So many of them wore extremely fashionable - not that Amos was a good sense of fashion- outfits and many of them had colors. They were wealthy people looking to buy a slave to help them around the house or shop. It wasn’t the door he had come in, but Amos could hear one of the doors getting unlocked. The crowd in the room noticed as well and began to crowd the doorway. Amos made his way slowly to that doorway. He was content to let them all go first.

Making his way to a fork in the road, Gran was presented with two choices. One way seemed rather rowdy, but the other lead to the dead end that he had visited before. The blood trail that he left managed to come in handy. At this point his adrenaline began to settle, not bottom out, just calm down a bit. With the settling of these hormones came the equally sharp bitter taste of blood on his tongue. The fear and struggle he experienced had set him into a fight of flight state of mind. Doing both when necessary, Gran wasn't allowed a chance to really think. The taste of flesh , the iron bitter taste, the slivers of skin and tissue in his mouth, they werent all that bad. Actually, Gran might have enjoyed it. Entranced by the flavor, the mixture of fear and pleasure, the boy couldn't entirely put his words. He would be awaken from his trance by an overwhelming explosiin of accusatory screams.

With wide eyes the boy would look back to see a swarm of men charging him. Adrenaline would spike, dashing as quickly as he could, the boy went to all fours. Using every bit of power he possessed. Clawing his way across the metal ground, Gran moved until he couldn't hear the men behind him any more, Gran wouldnt stop.

Eventually the boy would reach a pathway that was not similar to the hardened metal path. It would seem that he'd reach a mouth of a cavern. The entrance was covered with various wood and metal obstruction. It looked fishy to say the least however, there was little chance in the way of a choice here. Approaching the entrance, the boy used all his strength in order to blast a hole through the obstructions, then he'd disappear into the darkness. But from the darkness a shriek of horror would be heard.

The man whipped the ground, a loud crack sounding out as he glared at Don. The fishman grimaced and stepped back. The old slaver wasn't much for looks, but his speed and precision was telling of his real capabilities. It was safe to say that this old man tougher than that last guy. Don cracked his knuckles and stood up straight, inhaling a deep breath. The elderly man noticed Don's change in posture and readied himself.

"You ain't shit."

Don grinned and shot towards the man. A change occurred, one that the man was unable to notice. It was a skill Don picked up not long ago.

Tech

The distance between the two shrunk, until Don entered the old man's range. Don wasn't accustomed to the man's whip as well as he was, so he couldn't tell its effective range. This prevented any prediction on his part, so Don had to react the moment the old slaver moved. Don couldn't do that though, his speed being outmatched by the speed at which the slaver struck with his whip. Don had figured all this out earlier as he stood back and caught his breath, coming to a single conclusion for what to do; take it head on and pummel the shit out of the old man.

The slaver didn't play around this time, rapidly striking with the whip to create a wall of whips. The speed made it impossible to penetrate without getting hit. It almost seemed like there were dozens of whips striking out at the same time. Don didn't stop though, he only sped up. With his arms out at each side, Don bent down and shot off towards the whips. The fishman shouted and his nails gleamed with a sharp feeling as he suddenly swiped across with both arms.

Tech

As if his nails were knives, his nails sliced through the whip. The elderly man felt a change in weight, quickly followed by a lack of momentum. "What happened!?" He staggered back as he noticed the whip ripped in pieces across the floor. "D-dammit! Men, fire!"

Don glanced up as he saw a dozen men with guns to his side. "You have no cover!" the elderly man shouted, his voice cut off as a dozen gunshots went off. Gun-smoke spread out and gave the room an unpleasant odour, the old man coughing and wincing from the muzzle flares. "Is he dead?"

Thud, crack, thud, smash.

The old man turned around to look at his men, eyes widening as he saw a large fist coming at his head. His basic instincts told him to move, but fear and a lack of time held him in place. The fist connected with the man's head and he fell back, laying there motionless.

"Pain in the ass." Don grunted and stretched his neck a little. Some small red marks showed from him getting hit by at least a dozen bullets. It was a good thing he'd trained his body to grow resistant, or those would really hurt. Most of the slaves were already unchained, so the lack of guards let them run free. A few shot Don thankful glances, others fearful. Don just stretched his arms and got ready to leave and find Amos.

"Think you're leaving?" Don turned around to see the old man stumbling up onto his feet.

"I shoulda hit you harder. Still, how the hell are you alive?" Don frowned and stepped towards the old slaver. He caught sight of something in the man's hand, figuring it to be another whip. "Give it up. Don't worry, I'll kill you quickly."

The old man stared back at Don with a chilling grin, the fishman glancing back at the object in the man's hand. Don's face turned to shock as spun around and tried desperately to run. "Goodbye boss. Sorry I failed you."

Click.

A loud eruption went off as several explosive under the floorboards detonated. This occurred in multiple important rooms elsewhere in the building too. Don sprinted full speed at a wall and punched it with full force. Shockwaves shot out and the wooden walls busted apart, Don flying through. He was too slow though, even the room he broke into exploded, Don's scales doing their best to protect him. He fell unconscious and had no idea what happened next or where he would come to; if he even did.

Tech

His prayers would be answered though, the wooden flooring giving way to a cavern which was connected to the room. Don fell into the waters and drifted out unconsciously, carried along by the flow. It was a good thing fishmen could breath underwater.

Amos watched as the crowd began to push through the door. The rising water was quickly becoming a nuisance for them. Amos couldn’t help but feel like his big plan had failed. He had only managed to break some water lines. He had really hoped to create a huge hole in the ceiling that they could climb out.

Amos began to walk behind them. No one seemed to spare him a glance anymore; he was, after-all, just another human dressed in all white. The ones who had seen him fire the bow and had made way for him initially were already pushing their way through the doorway. The others probably didn’t even know what he had done. They may consider the tree growing from the ground as some miracle. Well, it would be a miracle for the slaves. The people in front of him, those here to buy slaves, probably thought of it as a curse. Amos didn’t care. As Amos was about to walk through the tunnel, he stopped. A loud explosion shook through the entire structure. The center stage itself seemed to erupt as it blew outwards. Water sprayed everywhere, and Amos had the distinct impression that there would have been fire if not for the water coating the floor. The water seemed to coalesce at the stage where the explosion had occurred. It was being pulled downwards, somewhere beneath the stage. Amos didn’t bother going to look at the stage. Only one thought ran through his head when he heard the explosions. Where was Don. There was no way the Fishman wasn’t involved in whatever had just happened. That man couldn’t go anywhere without causing tons of chaos!

Amos began sloshing through the water, which was quickly disappearing down a large hole from the explosion. He could hear more rushing water beneath him, but Amos didn’t worry about that. Don had to be somewhere around here!

Amos saw only one route other than the one he was going to go through and the hole in the floor. Amos didn’t know where it lead but he ran in that direction.

Scrambling on the floor, Gran would paw at his face in terror! Something had gotten a hold of it that he couldn't even distinguish. At least not immediately, he felt numerous hands and feelers pitter pat across his skin. It was a bug! The cave was too dark for him to even see, but the inhuman chatter and sensation was clear. The child just had no fucking clue as to what kind of bug crew to be as large as his torso. It was strong enough to maintain a grip even in the child's fearful counter attack.

Get off! GET OFF! GET OFF!
The child's voice increased in pitch and tone as he failed on the ground doing whatever he could for freedom. Then all at once, the bug would simply walk off of his torso and back onto the ground, as though nothing had occurred. Had the child overreacted? Upon the slave ship in which he was held, Gran had really only seen two land creatures, rats and roaches. The rats didn't bother him much, they were like hairy guppies. But the roaches, they reminded him of his fear of lobster and shrimp. Their black beady eyes and shiny exterior. Ugh, disgusting. They had whiskers of a sea creature but the body of a monster. Insects were the boys least favorite things about land, well least favorite next to slavery and child exploitation...and Gesso.

Taking deep breaths the child would return to a seated position. His ears perked up a bit as he noted the various sounds and echoes coming from the interior and exterior of the cave. He could hear water, the shuffling of feet, and screams in the distance still. Droplets of water patted his face every so often. Maybe this pathway lead to a larger source, a body of water. Freedom! Drawing more energy, the child rose to his feet, being careful with his steps now that he was aware of the wildlife in this cave. With gingerly pace, he advanced deeper into the cavern of insect wonder.

Amos began to walk down the path. The floor was made of a shiny metal. It was white, of course. The white floor made the bloodstain stand out. There was a trail of blood leading through the path. Amos nearly cursed. Who else would that blood be from Don? That didn’t mean it was Don’s blood but he surely had something to do with it. With a sigh, Amos began to follow the bloodstain. It led Amos through a series of tunnels and other paths. There were doors along the way but the blood didn’t lead Amos into any of them. In fact, Amos was quite sure he was being led in a circle.

Amos’ fears about being led on a circle proved to be true when be suddenly recognized the door he had just walked by. It had a marking on it as of some slave long ago had scraped it with its fingernails. Amos glanced around to check if there was anything else that would indicate that he was walking back the way he came.

Amos couldn’t see anything, though he realized that he could hear water dripping from the way he was headed. It had to be the sounds of the stage and the area where he had broken the water line. The water would be pouring in that hole and that would be what he was hearing. Amos rubbed his head. Why did the blood lead back that way? Where was Don?

Then, Amos heard a yell. It didn’t sound like Don. In fact, it sounded distinctly like the scream of a child. What was he saying? Get off? Amos listened for the source of the sound and just barely figured out the direction when it stopped. He walked down the hallway, deviating from his previous path, until the floor changed. It was no longer the metal of before but now it was ground and dirt. Amos wasn’t sure where it would lead but he wasn’t about to leave a child in trouble.

Every so often Gran would hear the chatter of insect mandibles or the flutter of their nasty wings. The sounds were so foreign, but that only emphasized the disgust and fear of the child. Hed never visually seen bugs on a scale greater than a tic-take, and yet these were likely his own size if not greater. The though if bugs larger than him sent a shock down his spine, at least he initially attributed the shock to his fearful thoughts. There was a slight delay, but the boy would feel a sharp prick pierce the bottom of his right foot. His calf muscle tightened as he rapidly pulled his foot into the air. Hoping away on the opposite direction, he'd grasp his right foot. Blowing on the wound as though that would heal it or at least provide some remedy for the pain. The initial prick hurt but it wasn't enough to cause him to scream loudly, only enough to make him react defensively. Hopping on one foot, the child tried to grab a hold of a wall in order to lean on. Reaching out with his left arm he would grab a hold of something, although it wasn't a wall, it was the carapice of another bug. The rustle of dirty dingy bug fleas caused the child to scream again in fear.

"Ahhhhhhh!"

He roared as he attempted to hop away from the wall fearfully. However instead of saftey the boy only copped towards more danger, now jabbing both feet with the jagged floor, he shocked himself tremendously.

"NOOO!"

In a burst of fear the boy jumped so hard that nearly concussed himself by hitting the ceiling. Landing so he didn't jab his feet again, the boy would begin to move more carefully. Using his whole body to draw in information about his surroundings. His feet hurt but they would be fine, it was the bugs and his dislike of them that would put him at risk of capture, not stone. Focusing intently the boy attempted to head towards the sounds of water that came from deeper within the cave. They didn't appear to be tied to the sounds from the auction, but it was hard to tell given the amaze like structure of this place.

As Amos walked forward, he found himself leaving the light of the auction house behind him. The ground became steadily rockier and more uneven, though Amos could only tell this by the way he would nearly stumble as he walked or when he would stub his toe. The sounds were gone now and Amos was beginning to wonder if he had chosen the right thing to do. The chances of Don being in this cave were probably slim considering the silence. Amos thought back to the traps that Don had set off in the hallway of the Mafia leader on Loguetown. No, Don was definitely not one to do things quietly. He also was unlikely to injure a child. In that case, what had caused the scream?

The scream resounded through the tunnel yet again. Amos’ head swiveled as he looked for the source of it. He cold barely see anything through the darkness but the voice seemed to echo all around him. Amos was a hunter but his hunting ground had never been in something like this before…was he in a cave? He could think of no other way to explain how the scream seemed to come from all directions at once. Then, Amos heard another noise.

It was almost like a scuttling, but it was much too loud to be any insect that Amos could think of. He drew his bow and pointed it into the darkness, unsure of which direction to face due to the echoing nature of the cavern. The scuttling grew closer and closer until Amos saw movement in the darkness. Whatever it was, it was a large creature. It had seemed to be as tall as Amos but had not looked remotely like a human. Amos fired an arrow. He heard the thud of the arrow hitting stone, and then saw the whites of the creatures eyes as it turned its head toward him. Amos had never heard an insect roar before but he didn’t know a better way to describe the sound the creature made as it stared him down.

Walking cautiously for what felt like an eternity in the mind of the reddened slave, the young Saiken would hear the the sound of water increase. The sounds pitch rose until it was clear he was beside a body of water of some sort. Mist began to coat his face, it wasn't salty actually. It seems he was beside a fresh body of water. Fresh water was something rare to the child. On his slave vessel he had been rarely given water for two reasons. The first was that he was a fish, and could do well by literally ingesting sea water, there wasn't a need to give him sea water. keeping him chained and tossing buckets of salt water on him did just fine. The second was that the men feared that he knew anything about something called "fishman karate"? The boy knew only a a tiny bit of fighting from his mother, and nothing more. What he learned had nothing to do with water either. He was taught a few basic punches and kicks on land, only to supplement his defense of the slavers; air breathers. Ironically, he was captured while being taught defense.

The though of fresh water was intriguing, and also disheartening. It felt like every step forward only lead towards a world in which he'd be captured yet again. Fresh water would also contain a bunch of creatures that he had no knowledge of. It was clear that he hadn't a clue of what to expect from the animals in this cave. Much less relate-able and understandable than any human, were these monstrous insects. The uneven moist cave made things only harder for someone with unsecured awkward footing on land.

The boy contemplated taking a step forward, one that he was sure would lead to the body of water, that step would prove to be the worst mistake he could have made, and had made thus far. Pressing on the ground the boy's hand would press onto weak ground that broke away and dislodged other rocks that eh was upon. The cave floor wasn't as sound as it felt. Not in the slightest.

The creature lunged through the darkness. Amos felt the hair on his arms raise as adrenaline pumped through every fiber of his being. It was unbelievably fast. A long insectoid claw flew towards Amos, the darkness revealing it only at the last second. Amos reacted quickly and instinctively. He went backwards, at a slight angle to the right. The darkness made it so Amos didn’t realize what he had moved onto. The ground was sloped steeply. Amos right foot didn’t hit the ground as he had thought it would. It plunged further until it hit the sloped ground. The sudden and unexpected descent caused him to lose his balance. He reached out with his left hand and tucked his bow into his chest with his right.

The fall was softened by Amos rolling over and using his arm as support for the maneuver. The bad part was it started a slippery slope of rolling. Amos felt rocks and other hard objects hit his head, back, and arms as he rolled– some of them crunched; what were those? Rocks didn’t crunch like that.

He didn’t roll for very long before he crashed directly into a wall. Amos let out a groan as he looked up at the slope he had just rolled down. He couldn’t see the top, but he could see how steep the slope was. At the end, it was nearly a vertical decline. There was no way Amos could get up that slope. At least, there was no way he could if he couldn’t see well enough to latch his grappling hook onto something. He looked at the object on his waist. It was upgraded with materials he had found on board the ship. Instead of being a rope wrapped around his waist it could now pull him forward and wrapped itself inside a container he had created. The biggest problem in this situation was the visibility and the creature at the top. He was sure that the creature would be waiting for him and he didn’t know if his grappling hook could reach high enough. He couldn’t even see the ceiling to know if shooting it upwards was a promising idea. All in all, he had no way to go backwards at this point.

The boy wasn't exactly nimble on his feet, he put down way too much power for his own good. To heavy with his steps, the boy tumbled forward onto a oddly smooth surface. The stones were jagged here, but most were smoothed over by water, he assumed. Much like the sand in the sea, even rocks above ground were subject to the power of water. Tumbling so that he would eventually find his way onto his back. The young Saiken spun on the mid of his back , every so often he hit a pebble or surface that sent his body jumping, but for now it felt as though his descent would be smooth. Sliding down a fourth five degree angled slope, the child w asnt initially scared. Rather he was excited, this small moment allowed for what felt like a taste of true freedom. It definitely was the most excitement he tasted in a long while. Not a peep would exit his bloodied mouth. Hed just flashed his teeth and placed his hands onto the rapidly changing surface below him, preparing himself for whatever came next.

At a moment or two he attempted to open his mouth and scream in joy. But he'd only suck in air, stuttering after every gasp of fresh water. He couldn't see anything, not even a speck of light, but he was filled with a feeling of direction, power.

The slop would suddenly vanish below his feet, and with that would come a great plunge. It turned out he was beside the mouth of a series of internal cave water falls. Most having steep drop offs. The child wasnt aware he was sliding into a great bay of water from across the island. He was silent this time, but out of fear rather than joy. If his heart was capable of breaking through his chest it would at this point. The sheer ferocity that he descended with came close to mimickin his capture. The thought of death filled his mind, and so did his enslavement. With that thought, he'd cease his fear, knowing that if he could survive his capture, and what followed, he'd survive this. Gran closed his eyes, and smacked into the waters with his bulky short frame. Like a hand smacking against a steel wall, the boys fall echoed through the caves.
