It's a clear sunny day, but dark clouds are on the horizon. A wealthy woman has posted a help wanted for the rescuing of her daughter, Mabel. She is presently held on a remote island by pirates in the Tardy Forest. However, the reward for her daughter's rescue can only go to one. Morose and Mycroft as well as others have agreed to take on the mission. Winner will be the one that escapes with the girl. However, the Tardy Forest is big enough to get lost in and dense enough to pass as a jungle in parts. It's filled with many deep shadows, hideaways, predators, and hazards... While the pirates that took Mable are nothing special, they have more than enough numbers to lend themselves to the dangers of the island. May the best man when. Seventy-two hours. That was how long he promised the parent of the kidnapped Mabel that he would recover her. Mycroft was extremely confident that he could accomplish the mission without much trouble, although he had to admit, he was underestimating the abilities of these random pirates. Not to mention how wide the Tardy Forest truly is. But he had full confidence in his abilities, tracking someone should be easy enough. Even against the warnings of those who lived in the island, Mycroft packed lightly to enter the forest, bringing only a small pack holding a bottle as well as some protein bars. Day 1, Time: 0948 With his normal garb of grey vest on white long sleeve, Mycroft looked more like a guy passing through the forest rather than one searching for someone. His red hair was already swaying with the cool breeze, the wide forest no doubt at least have a calming nature effect on him. Even so, he had to bring himself to pay attention to his surroundings. Whatever it is, he had to remember this place was filled with enemies. Those pirates who kidnapped the young child was no doubt dangerous, but the fact that they still have not bought out any ransom for her meant they were not fully prepared to gain any attention yet. It gave him the element of surprise. He tried to ensure the calming effect of the forest does not affect his mentality in this. Whatever it is, he had to be sure he was ready for it. With the sun already on its way to the zenith of its rise, the sound of birds chirping and wind whistling was hiding any other sounds of danger. True, he was just at the edge of the forest, but nonetheless, he had to prepare for it. With his trusted gun by his side, Mycroft began to slow advance into the forest, eyes cautious of any signs of threats. If these pirates were able to bring her into such a huge forest, no doubt they would have readied for any surprises. Not to mention he felt he underestimated this forest. It was no doubt much bigger than he gave it credit for. " Maybe I should have gotten myself a guide to bring me around.." Mycroft stated through the chirping birds, no doubt to himself as he moved deeper into the forest with steps as light as he could, preventing any sort of sounds that could bring about any attention to him. |

Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates Morose stood on the beach for a moment taking in the view of the Tardy forest. The youth was short enough that even the slight breeze off the ocean looked like it might blow him off his feet as it tugged on the loose fabric of his cloak. The cloak was dark in color and made of a hardy fabric meant for traveling. Morose's pants were tight fitting but made of a similarly sturdy material. The youth's pale skin contrasted sharply with his dark clothes as he made his way up the beach toward an outflow of fresh water that fed into the sea. Morose looked down as his shows with contempt before shaking one of them stiffly resulting in sand flaking off. The boy's heavy lidded eyes made him look sleepy but the eyes were very active in how they looked around observing many things. Rather than crossing the stream, Morose turned inland and approached the forest's edge with an indifference common in the confident, the cocky, or those too tired to care. As advertised, the forest was dense and Morose immediately had to start picking up his feet to step over root or under branch. There was not much in the way of paths, so the underbrush frequently snagged his his cloak. Morose's expression was a frown whenever he had to walk through a patch that regularly pulled at his clothes. *chomp* *gnash* *crunch* The sounds were barely audible ahead of Morose, but the boy took on an inquisitive air and carefully made his way forward. Daintily pressing himself against a thick tree, he carefully peered around to look at the source of the noise. Before him, the stream continued, flowing down from some higher ground further into the woods. Its burbling nor the slapping of fish in the water was what drew Morose's attention. The sound was actually the massive brown bear mauling a dead pirate who laid lifelessly on the ground. Morose's eyes grew wide at the sight and seemed ready to move away when the bear raised a bloody snout and sniffed the air. bear "****" |

Day 1, Time 11:18AM For an hour, maybe even more, all Mycroft could do was trek in the forest. It was hardly a simple task, though the forest's dense foliage assisted him well, covering his walk through. To be honest, even the mind of Mycroft started to feel a little lost. The forest is extremely dense that every turn he made seems to just force him into a much difficult path to find the girl. As much as he promised her mother that he would find the child before seventy-hours, he found himself doubting he could find her. To make matters worse, he felt eyes on him ever since he entered this forest. He could not tell whether it was human or otherwise, but one thing for sure, Mycroft could feel he was being stalked. But for an hour or so, no such predator appeared, which could only mean it was not the time for any attacks just yet. But whatever it was, he had to get ready for it. Even as he tried to sense where the presence, a sudden snap of a branch came into the windy forest. It broke Mycroft of his trance. Instinctively, he backed to a tree, hiding behind as voices began to come off from one direction. Three voices, each with a distinctive sound from each other, began to come from that direction. Even as he looked around the tree, Mycroft could peek three figures walking through the forest, each with a sword at hand. These guys must be part of that group that kidnapped the girl. As much as I usually evade a confrontation, I have to get one of these guys to show me the way to their hideout. His mind advised him, placing himself in a dilemma. It seems he had no other choice but to capture on of these kidnappers, and eliminate the remaining ones to ensure his presence is still not noticed as of yet. The only question now is how he was going to go about this problem. Current time left: 70 Hours 30 Minutes |

Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates bear Morose was running. Branches whipped at his face, leaving red streaks across his cheeks as he dash through without caution. His eyes were wide open with a panicked look, and his mouth hung open breathing fast and hard. The young pirate's cloak billowed behind him when not caught on something, the rips and snares it was accumulating were building up at the edges. No more than a yard or two behind him, the bear he had encountered earlier pursued him with a snarl. It bounded through the underbrush like a bull in a china shop. Its snout still red with the blood of its previous victim. On a few occasions, Morose would be stalled. A branch would be too tall or thick to just slip around. Bushes would catch more of him than he could simply rip free of. He would stumble a few times over roots or vines hidden on the ground. Each time Morose fell out of step just slightly, the bear would charge forward in an extra burst of speed with one paw swung around in a powerful swing. Branches would be snapped like twigs, underbrush would be cleared as if by a machete, and trees would have deep scars that blasted away the bark in a shower of splinters. Morose barely stayed just out of reach, his eyes frantically darting around. Ahead, three individuals could barely be made out through the trees and gloom of the forest. Suddenly, Morose's expression became relief followed by something deviant. Morose charged the three who were carrying swords and cutting their way through the woods. The bear behind Morose growled and then roared. Between the crashing through the forest and the savage call, the men were finally aware of a bear coming in on their position. It plowed its way into the group of three to stand on its hind legs and rise up to its full height several feet in the air. Just as quickly, massive paws with claws several inches long swung at the men with killing potential. Meanwhile Morose was nearby crouching low to the ground. He seemingly disappeared from sight earlier leaving the bear no target but the three directly in its path. Hidden in his bush, his eyes peered out from between overlaying leaves to spectate from the gloom. Mycroft would have witnessed the bear stampeding into the group of men. tech used

Mycroft decided on what he should do. These trio of pirates does not seem to be the most dangerous of them, especially after what he has seen in the high seas. If anything they seemed like the generic group of thugs he has always come across in a fight. He felt no such threat against them, which simply means he can ensure he would be able to capture one of them at least. Distracting them as he did so should be simple enough, throwing a simple smoke bomb should enable him to weave through them and take them out quickly enough and leave on of them alive. As much as he disliked the idea of killing, at this stage where a girl's life is in danger, he had no other choice. As such, he got himself ready. The three were closing in on where he was, and he could take them by surprise and eliminate them. Mycroft was confident that this was going to be settled easily. That was until a bear suddenly ran up to them and literally rammed one of the trio. They were taken by surprise, and even Mycroft was as well. To suddenly see a bear running in full force and hitting the trio he was targeting, it ensured there was one less threat, but now a much more dangerous wildcard is in play. The bear was uncontrollable, and now the chances of his attempt to interrogate one of the pirates was starting to get dimmer. It forced Mycroft to readjust his strategy, and he had to do it fast. Already, the remaining two thugs were in panic mode, trying their best to usher the bear away to no avail. The one that got rammed was not even moving any longer, no doubt death overtaken the man. He had such little time left to do this. In less than a minute, another one of them fell, the bear's claws proving to be dangerous for someone using a sword. An instant swipe forced the man to the ground, and a strong snap of its jaw ensured the fatality of the man. The last of them stood his ground, or rather stood shaking. It was not that he was brave, but rather he was too afraid to attempt to escape. The bear's attention instantly shifted to the man, and it was no doubt that it will take less than a second to end this encounter. And that was when the spy reacted. Making a break for it, he sped to where the last survivor was, his speed was no doubt impressive enough that it took him less than a minute to close the distance. As he came in between the bear and the last survivor, his right hand extended enough to grab the unmoved man, while his left dropped a smoke pellet, surrounding the area between them with grey smoke in an instant after a loud pop. The distraction should be sufficient enough to ensure the bear would lose the sight of them, not to mention the smell of overwhelming blood from two corpse would assist Mycroft in extracting the man to a safer place for interrogation. Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates Morose only watched the struggle between the bear and the pirates long enough to ensure his own safety before slinking away. He stayed low and used the shadows and thick vegetation for cover. Occasionally, he would peek from where he was to ascertain if he was still unnoticed. Eventually, he came to the place he was seeking. It was a little ways away from the fighting and in the direction the pirates had been walking from. Morose stared at a partial boot print as well as a few slashes left by swords in the tall plants. Morose was not a tracker or survivalist, but even a youth such as he could make out these obvious marks left behind. The pirates did not leave behind anything to suggest they were attempting to conceal their presence on the island. Morose proceeding to follow the trail left by the pirates. It was not always easy, however. At times, Morose would need to stop for a few minutes to look around to resume the hunt. This was largely the case in areas of stunted vegetation. The Pirates wouldn't have needed to hack their way through, and boot prints were not always well defined. It was in one such area that Morose find himself searching for a new lead when several ground animals skittered past his path without paying him any mind. The animals moved quickly. Morose eyes suddenly flickered to motion coming from the opposite direction. There was nothing there. Morose swallowed hard as his body tensed up ready to act at a moments notice. He looked around nervously for a while and finally noticed it: a shadow. The shadow was relatively large and crept over the forest floor like a fog rolling off the water. Morose immediately averted his eyes and cursed between clenched teeth, his youthful face anxiety stricken. After a moment of internal conflict, Morose hesitantly turned back around and looked up at what cast the shadow. A massive spider looked down on him from up in the trees. Partially illuminated by the sunlight that broke through and half shrouded in darkness, the massive bug quietly and efficiently moved its body through the trees without a single misstep among its 8 legs. Morose's face had become one resigned to the sort of day it was shaping up to be. spider

The irony of it all would no doubt be that the man probably believed Mycroft saved him. Even if the bear was the biggest threat at the time, he did not know who exactly was the one saving him. Mycroft no doubt felt it was going to be unpleasant for the man. Interrogations were such a messy thing to accomplish, especially since it would involve knowing whether the answer is the truth or a lie and how much information the target has. Mycroft has little experience in forcing out the truth from someone, but he has a good experience in discovering the truth beneath the lies. Their escape was covered easily. The bear lost their scent and Mycroft managed to pull the survivor a distance away from the bear. He did not know why the bear was suddenly present at where he was, but nonetheless, he would have to accept the bear helped him out. When the two finally halted to a stop, the survivor finally saw his savior. Instead of someone that was part of his group, he saw the bright blue eyes of Mycroft staring deep into him. The look of dread overcame the man even if he was wearing a mask covering his mouth, the eyes telling the spy everything he needed to know. " Good thing you weren't mauled by that bear. Your friends are already food for that thing, and now you are all alone with me saving you. Now tell me, where is your little hideout that the girl is at." Mycroft chose to go straight to the point. At this time, neither of the two were armed, with the man losing his weapon when Mycroft saved him. The spy had his gun still hidden behind him, and he knew his reaction if this man were to do anything foolish would be faster. The man was already sweating under his mask, and a putrid smell was coming out of him. No doubt he was so afraid just now that he pissed himself. " I-I don't know what you are talking about!? My friends and I was just out here walking around!" The man exclaimed in apparent fear, looking around and avoiding the eyes of Mycroft. It was no doubt an obvious lie, one he did not even need to look into the eyes of the man. The agent closed the distance between them, kneeling at the fallen man as he narrowed his eyes on him. " Don't you dare insult my intelligence. I know your group is involved in the kidnapping. One thing you foolish people have to learn is to stop wearing the same clothes when you have done your deeds. It only shows to others that you are involved in it, even if you are not part of the deeds. Now, I am warning you again, tell me where your hideout is or I'll throw you back to the bear." That threat, by itself, seemed to force the survivor into a frenzy. Clearly, he did not want to get caught in the same place with the bear again. After a moment of thinking whether to lie again and be eaten, or simply just tell the truth and maybe survive, the man came to a conclusion, looking straight to the agent with his fearful eyes. " F-Fine, I'll l-lead you to where it is." He admitted in defeat, making Mycroft smile in victory. At least now he had a guide to where the hideout is. He stood, motioning the pirate to stand as well. As much as he was going to lead Mycroft to where the hideout is, he agent understood well enough this man is still a pirate. No reason to suddenly not doubt him any longer. " Lead on, and if you try anything funny, you will be joining your friends. That I can promise you." He threatened the man, much to the man's chagrin. A sudden roar through the forest bought the man into a full-fledged fear, the bear no doubt enjoying his lunch. Well, that helped him to ensure this man did not do anything stupid just yet. The man instantly took lead, wanting to get away from this place as soon as he could. Time Left: 69 Hours 53 Mins |

Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates spider Morose was never so small. With back pressed against the tree he stood by like he was trying to disappear inside of it, Morose tried to use the shadows to hide. With the thick canopy of the forest only allowing beams of light through in a few nearby areas, the youth had no shortage of places to hide. The spider barely made any noise at all as it moved through the branches overhead. It might as well been the wind or any number of expected sounds from old trees more so than a giant spider. Morose wordlessly grumbled, his face no longer surprised as much as annoyed with eyes that lazily glared at nothing. Then the shadow of the spider made the darkness all the more apparent. Morose stopped breathing. He barely dared to blink as he anxiously waited for what the spider would do. Moments passed, each one like an eternity....*thunk* one of the long legs of the spider thudded into the ground a few inches from where Morose hid. Morose slowly looked up, wide eyes and pale face suddenly visible again in the gloom. Several red eyes stared down at Morose from the canopy. Somehow, the spider knew he was there and had missed. It's mandibles clicked with a sinister growl, saliva with a greenish tint dripping occasionally. However, Morose was no longer there to stare at. He had suddenly about faced and proceeded to run for his life, his knives whipping out before him to mulch anything that would impede him into a green confetti he could run through. The spider found a morsel large enough to warrant pursuit and quickly moved through the trees. It was much louder now, but still eerily quieter than one might expect of something its size. If Morose had to turn due to a cluster of trees too thick to instantly cut through or slip through, the spider was able to swing its abdomen forward and spray a white string as thick as several ropes wound together at Morose. The small youth would narrowly avoid such attacks, but the things and creatures less fortunate that were hit were bound in sticky bundles unable to struggle free no matter how they thrashed. The spider rushed forward after one such attack to find nothing. Morose had vanished. Nothing shifted in the underbrush to suggest he was moving stealthily. No deeper shadows persisted to give away a hiding spot. The heavy breathing of one fleeing for his life was not audible. Just forest and spider remained. Several moments later, the spider moved on. From its stealthy location in the forest canopy 2 more large morsels presented themselves: Mycroft being led by a pirate on the island. The spider was back to the hunt. "Is this ****, ****." Morose grumbled in pain as his eyes opened to a dark space he had fallen into while he was running away. Place?

" How many of you are there?" Mycroft broke the silence after a few moments of it. As much as asking so much questions would have been foolish, at this point of time any information he would get out of this man would be helping him. Of course, the spy had no gun on the man just yet, but nonetheless, he was ready to react if anything were to happen. Well, almost anything.. The man took sometime to process this, whether to think up of a lie or actually counting the numbers they had, Mycroft has yet to discover. After another moment that took way longer than he would have liked, the man finally answered. " I-I am not too sure. Maybe around 30 of us? We had masks on so it is hard for us to know who is who unless we talked." The man's explanation was not the best, but nonetheless it was sufficient. More than two dozen men, that would prove to be harsh for him no doubt. He would have to sneak past the lot to save the girl. Before he could question the man again, he suddenly attempted to escape. Although Mycroft was ready for it, he suddenly heard a snap of a twig, followed by thuds coming from somewhere. The forest was suddenly filled with a predatory intent that Mycroft mistook it for the bear again. But then again, it was unlikely the bear would be sneaking up to him so silently. It forced Mycroft to crouch down instantly, trying to sense where this new threat was coming from. As if to answer his question, a sudden scream to his front alerted him that the predator has appeared. No doubt his prisoner has now become the prey instead. It made Mycroft silently push forward, cautious of his steps to prevent any detection on him. In less than a few meters away, the dense forest presented him with his former prisoner. The man laid still on the dirt floor, yet his chest was still moving, no doubt signifying the man was still alive. It was as if a ghost was lying on top of him, preventing him from moving. What was curious was that the man was not struggling one bit. He simply laid there, unmoved. Whatever the predator was, it paralyzed his prisoner, which meant it was not the bear at all. His mind ran through the different species that could paralyze a human to such an extent. To paraylze a grown man in a matter of seconds, it would take a high amount of paralytic. What could have done such a thing? In less then a minute, he could feel the presence return. A hungering presence that no doubt was the culprit. Mycroft looked around him cautiously, trying to spot out this predator to no avail. Suddenly, he had a feeling something was on top of him, and he looked up, only to see more than a dozen red eyes looking down on him. Discovering his position even when he was quiet about it, this creature no doubt was playing to something else other than sound. It forced Mycroft to react to it, knowing he had less than five seconds before the creature decided to sink its mandible on him. He instantly rummaged his pocket and took out a Dial he always kept in handy, pressing the apex immediately as he closed his eyes, letting a blinding light escape from the Shell. The creature gave a loud screech as the red eyes suddenly disappeared for a moment, forcing the half blind agent to immediately break into a run, no longer keeping it silent. If this spider was able to catch him, his mission, as well as his carcass, would be lost in this woods. He could not let that happen. Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates spider Place? Morose was shrouded in the dim light of the space he had fallen into. It was quiet but peaceful in comparison to the terror that had seemed constant above. His eyes appeared to adjust to the dimmer light enough that he began to make out details. Awkwardly with a pained expression, Morose rose from where he lay to stand and brush himself off. He looked around with mores sincerity this time finding a room of stone and overgrown plant life. Tentatively walking over to a nearby wall, Morose brushed some of the vines away to see and feel the designs carved into the stone of the chamber. Whatever they were, it was not usual stone formation. Morose looked around briefly before gathering a hefty looking stick that would likely make a semi-decent club. He then ripped a few strips off his tattered cloak off at the hem and tied it around the stick's end. Reaching into his cloak, he produced a bottle of cooking alcohol and doused the tied off end in the potent smelling liquid. He moved it towards his lips seemingly without thinking about it and stopped himself just short before recapping the bottle and placing it back in his cloak. He then squatted over the stick with 2 knives in hand before suddenly and violently raking both blades across each other in a manner capable of slicing steel. A few sparks rained down from the sudden motion, igniting the makeshift torch and bringing illumination to the chamber he found himself in. With torch in one hand and knife in another, Morose stood and looked around suddenly as if his situation may have spontaneously changed. Nothing was there save for a few smaller animals and normal sized spiders. Morose audibly sighed. "As much as this sucks, at least I get a break....before I die, of course..." Holding up his torch, the designs in the stone barely noticeable now stood out in clear contrast from the wall. It depicted a worn carving/painting of a humanoid figure surrounded by all sorts of beasts and other animals. Many of the depictions seemed disproportionately large. To Morose right was a tunnel he could take out of the room. The way from where he fell would be too high to reach for the moment and there was no guarantee the spider had left as much as perhaps couldn't fit down where Morose was. |

The returning thud from on top of him no doubt told Mycroft that his predator has not yet given up on him. It seems his calculations were off, the recovery time of the spider was much sooner than his little trick was meant to give the agent. Now all he could do was outrun a giant spider, if that was even possible. Every five steps he took, he could hear four thuds, which meant in retrospect, the spider took one step. With that odds, even Mycroft could count it would not take long before he was caught. He was being placed in such a difficult situation. His mind counted only seconds until he was caught, and no doubt he would be food for a giant spider. That is until, those seconds were gone. Bang A sudden bang echoed the normally silent forest, and it attracted both his and the spider's attention. He did, however, react first, diving straight into a foilage of bushes to, much to him understanding that it was futile, hide from the spider. The sudden silence took over for a moment as he laid on the dirt facing up, looking through the trees between the foilage to see if the spider did catch his movements. However, there was no sounds through those moments, and he took in a breath. Bang Another echoed, followed by shouts of horror and an immediate thud that shook the earth for a moment. Whatever it was, Mycroft felt the spider's attention on him gone. He gave a few minutes, staying still to ensure the spider is no longer here. Feeling somewhat safe, he finally crouched from his position, looking out into the foliage to where the bangs were from. Even from where he was, he could hear some whispers, no doubt another person or two, though he was not sure if they were part of the pirates. With no choice, he cautiously moved towards the sounds, and there, he found four individuals. Well, three live individuals with one dead corpse. In front of them was surprisingly the giant spider, who laid still on the ground as if dead. Well, probably dead since there was a giant crater from where his multiple eyes used to be. " Hoooooly shit, can you believe this bug was around here?" One of them, holding a giant gun that was no doubt the reason why the spider was dead, began to speak. The man's gun was still smoking from the usage, and the man was shouldering it, the man himself was a rather heavily built man who has more muscles than fats with how he is holding the weapon. The other two, one holding a crossbow with long red hair while the other a smaller rifle, was also marvelling at the fact they came across this spider. " This bitch really is freaking huge! Too bad Kenny was too slow to react. But he has always been the most jumpy one. Should have freaking had his head up when we told him to be careful. Damn kid." The one holding the rifle replied, kicking the arachnid as if to ensure it was dead. Mycroft studied the trio, no doubt feeling that these men were not the average people that comes into this forest. No, they are definitely trackers, people who excels in forested areas and finding people. Maybe these few were trying to find the girl, seeing that they did not seem to be wearing the normal get-up as the pirates. Each of them were wearing dark green vest over their black shirt, with cameo pants. These guys are definitely profesionals. " Well, no use crying over spilt milk. As much as we are paid for rescuing the girl, we can hunt those damned pirates to our own delight, so keep your weapons up and move it. We will be having ourselves a good ol' fashion hunting party." The biggest of them added, signalling his two companions to move. Mycroft kept still, knowing any movements would only bring their attention to him. He did not know who these guys were, but whoever they are, he had a feeling he did not want to be acquinted with them. These guys were aiming to kill the pirates rather than rescue the girl, which would be a danger to the young child. In his mind, he decided whatever it was, he had to ensure he rescue the girl first before these men could put her in danger. Time Left: 69 Hours 01 Mins |

Morose Morose Forest Ambience Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates Place? Morose proceeded down the passage left to him. The further he got from the place he dropped down into, the more he had to rely on the torch held before him until finally there was nothing but darkness beyond the edges of the light produced by the torch. Morose held the stick in front of him and up high. The heat produced by the light source was hot enough to be uncomfortable and was too bright to clearly see what was ahead. Morose's frown only deepened as he walked and the harsh light of the torch of his head made his eyes appear more haunted and sunken than normal. As Morose walked, the torch would occasionally catch things on fire. A root here, a web there, and not just a few spiders of a more reasonable size. The youth was very proactive in the elimination of the last group. The stonework of the passages he traveled down was in similar disrepair as the first chamber with overgrown vegetation and other forms of weathering having taken place on the stonework. Further in, the effects of the weathering were reduced and Morose could easily make out more of the hieroglyphics. Morose was about to investigate the symbols when out of the corner of his eye there was a flicker of motion. Turning his head immediately and whipping his torch around to separate himself from whatever was beyond the tunnel, Morose saw the source of the movement. Torches lit in sconces dotted the walls, casting shadows that danced on the stone as they flickered and flared with a breeze coming from somewhere at the end. Then the sound of steps became audible echoing down the corridor. Morose immediately squeezed into a fissure in the stonework where he put out the torch a few quick stamps of his foot. In darkness, Morose waited. The footsteps sounded heavier and booted as they made their way closer to him. Morose mumbled curses under his breath, readying his knives while he waited. However, the steps never brought more than shadows that eventually turned around and started patrolling in another direction. Morose overheard the complaining of men on guard duty. |

For a few minutes, Mycroft stood at his position, not moving in case the trackers noticed his presence. Whatever it was, this three did take out a giant spider, so to approach them and eiminate them would be slightly more dangerous for him. On the otherhand, it provided the spy with a way towards the main base of the kidnappers. After losing his previous source, these men would no doubt be able to find their way there, giving Mycroft the chance to save the girl before these men provide a little too much attention to killing. He did, however, make a mental note to reapproach her mother later. To hire such shady characters, surely there are better ways. After the moment has passed, Mycroft decided it was more or less safe to shadow the trio. He pass by the two carcass, the dead man known as Kenny having his chest crushed, no doubt when the giant spider stepped on him with its full weight. It was such a worse way to die. He slid past the spider and walked on to the direction of the three, himself tracking them as silently as he could. These men knows how to cover their tracks, ensuring no branches or footprints are left behind. But Mycroft knows their way as well, some leaves being crushed and the occassional smell of gunpowder leading his way forward. It was fifteen minutes later when he suddenly noticed the lack of any sort of tracks from the trio. For a moment, it made Mycroft wonder if he was noticed, and maybe they were trapping him instead. But he was sure his distance was sufficient enough to ensure his presence was masked. He instinctively looked around, trying to see if they were indeed ambushing him, yet found no one. Instead, he heard sudden shouts in front of him, not too far away, followed by gunshots. It forced Mycroft to crouch instantly, and realized that they were already at the hideout. It seems that they were already starting their massacre. With no more need for stealth, Mycroft picked himself up and rushed forward. He chose to go by an alternate path, going slightly towards the right so that he would not come across the trio. They were going to distract the pirates long enough for him to succeed saving the girl, maybe even kill those pirates. Whatever it was, the safety of the girl was his priority. He push past the trees and vines, finally seeing the hideout that has eluded him all this time. Time Left: 68 Hours 37 Minutes |

Morose Morose Forest Temple Music Tardy Forest Enemy Pirates Temple Hideout A loud commotion drew the attention of the guards in Morose's hallway. The youth let out a deep sigh with relief before peeking his head out and checking the corridor. It was clear. The chef left his hiding space and crept down its length, each foot falling as softly as the one before it. The flame's light that passed over him made his cloak shimmer as he went. The sounds of explosions, yells, and metal on metal echoed throughout the subterranean space. Morose chose this moment to reach into his cloak and produce a small parcel that he undid with deft hands before popping the contents into his mouth. His tension and anxiety seemed to ebb some as his eyes appeared more sharp and aware than before. He also moved with an improved preciseness. tech Coming to stone stairs weathered up the middle, Morose looked up cautiously before quickly moving up them. The sounds of battle grew louder, making Morose's passage even less noticeable. Eventually, the youth emerged from the lower levels to what seemed like a ground level. A massive chamber lay before him with pillars, arches, and other aged structures dotting what may have passed for a ceremonial room once. There was not much light behind a few carefully placed torches to light paths and what trickled in between the trees and shattered roof overhead. Morose stood in the shadow of an arch and looked around carefully. The girl he was seeking was not visible, but nor was any other enemies. He took a moment to catch his breath. Seemed like he may have been holding his for a while. He was about to move from his space when more blasts echoed from all the adjoining tunnels and windows. Whatever they were doing out there, it was rambunctious. Morose grumbled some more under his breath while rolling his eyes. |
