Your best nightmare.
[ *  *  *  * ]
Across the waters surrounding Gesso island rode a man with white hair on what could only be described as a motorcycle. The long, narrow, curvy contraption looked very much like a chopper one might see on land, but this one rode atop the waves. The wheels spun furiously and propelled the contraption at high speeds, eating up the miles as the shores of Gesso island came closer and closer. The young white-haired man looked down at the Log Pose clamped into it's holder atop what would have been the fuel tank on a normal chopper, directly in front of the rider, just under chest height. Tapping at the small glass ball, he sat back comfortably in the seat and twisted the throttle, urging his ride forward, pushing for even more speed. The four exhaust pipes extending to either side of the large back wheel roared as powerful wind shot forth from their depths. The chopper reared slightly and shot forward with ever-increasing speed as it and it's rider skirted the waters around the island, heading for the single port that served the entire island.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Kunugi walked silently into the small shop at the end of the docks. As the bell on the door rang an old man came shuffling to the front. Ah welcome young sir! Welcome to my humble establishment! I don't suppose you brought any paintings with you on your ship by chance? You know, I trade in artwork, and I pay a pretty penny for any work of art, yes-sir! Kunugi looked at the little old man with cold, uncaring eyes. He glanced around the shop for a second. Nothing interesting. Mostly odds and ends. Some supplies sailors might find useful. A number of what he could only assume were intended as souvenirs, though what they were supposed to be he couldn't guess. Every one of them were pure white.
I don't have a ship old man, and I don't deal in artwork. Kunugi glanced out the window for a moment. The contrast of the pure white island and the garish shades of color in which the old man had decorated the interior of his shop threatened to give Kunugi a headache. I'm a Grand Line native, not one of those sorry travelers from the Blues that you are used to dealing with, so I'm sorry to disappoint you, but you won't be seeing much trade or sales from me. I'm just passing through. Kunugi rubbed his temple for a moment. This is Gesso Island, right? That means I came through on the Fourth Route. *sigh* That means the one I'm looking for isn't here. My sources tell me he's on Brick Blues. The Second Route. I might find him there, but it might be a better idea for me to head for TeuFort to get ahead of him... Hey old man, how long does it take for the Log Pose to reset for Little Garden on the Third Route?
The old man had looked depressed for a moment when Kunugi told him he was a native of the Grand Line and not here for trade, and had quickly lost interest as the younger man had rambled on to himself. The old man was now sitting at his desk reading a newspaper. How long to reset for Little Garden? Your in luck. It takes 3 days to set the Log for the next island on this route, but your Log should show you the way to Little Garden after just 1 day here. Kunugi breathed a sigh of relief to himself. That was perfect. Just enough time to resupply and stretch his legs, maybe get a little rest, and he'd be on the move again.
Kunugi took off his dark-blue jacket with the black fur lining and wrapped it into a tight bundle which he put in a small canvas bag and tied to the back of his waist. He now wore a skin-tight, sleeveless black shirt tucked into black cargo pants with black boots which laced up almost to his knees. The old man glanced up from his paper. Smart, that. Not much color for the thieves to steal. Kunugi glared at the man for a second. I told you I'm a native didn't I? I know my way around.
Reaching into his pocket, Kunugi pulled out three gold coins. He dropped them on the old man's desk. Give me 3 small tubes of red. The old man brushed the gold coins into a drawer and reached into a small safe below the desk, pulling out 3 smaller tubes of red paint. He grudgingly handed them over. The man clearly didn't want to part with his paint, but he could use the gold to trade for more valuable works of art later.
Kunugi pocketed the paint tubes and walked to the door. As he opened the door, he glanced out and saw what appeared to be clouds forming over the island. Reaching down he pulled a clear umbrella from a bin full of the same standing right by the door. Hey old man, I assume these are free to borrow? The old man looked up from his paper again. Only if you are paying for a dock, young man. Another gold coin landed on the old man's desk with a clatter as the front door closed behind Kunugi.
Sylvia was on her ship sailing to a new island, she gained many new members to board her ship from beating their former captains. She even took some of the captains with her thinking it would be fun, she was stronger and all of them put together, so she didn’t need to worry about them trying to attack her. The log pose was heading towards a new island named Gesso.
Sylvia was mostly the fun type, but right now. She was in her training room, she was careful and now having a bounty worth 80,000,000. A powerful marine, pirate or even bounty hunter could show up. With her being unable to handle them. This was the reason. She wished to gain strength.
She would be inside mediating trying to focus. Her hair would be growing longer, as this was her life return, she couldn’t even use it in battle yet, but growing her hair, was all she could do right now. She told nobody to enter this room, if they did, she wouldn’t know what would happen to them. She was focusing the power of her zone devil fruit as well, trying to make a new form.
As the ship was getting in sight of the island, one of the captain’s she beat, now her new member would wish to tell Sylvia, with everyone telling him. “Don’t go inside that room. You could die. You get one warning.” The man would laugh. “Just because, she beat me in a game. Doesn’t mean she can do anything to me in battle.” As he would open the door. Sylvia’s eye’s opened, having the wildest of a leopard. As her movement became fast, with all her claws towards his neck. Lucky for him, she snapped out of it. Having a smile with the man in a cold sweat.
“Didn't I tell you not to open that door? If you like. I can kick you off my ship right now, and you can play, swim back home.” Her voice would be playful, but that was his warning to not do it again. As her claws were gone, with him nodding falling to the ground. The ship would finally land.
With Sylvia saying to everyone, acting playful again. “Everyone come here. I want you all to wear something colorful. This island has many groups that will attack and try to take you down. Think of this like my test, if you can’t handle people from this island, then give up on the rest of the grand line. This game will be called, wear colors to be noticed, and try not to die. If you lose all your colorful items, you will not be allowed on my ship, and will stay here.”
She would say with a smile, with a playful tone. This game will be fun. “Oh, one more rule if you can take my colorful items, you can have my ship, and become the new boss Of this? Well, I wouldn’t call this a crew, because you're all so weak. I wouldn’t want a weak crew. Let's call it a group, for now.” She would say with them all looking angry, none of them had character. They where all weak people, that didn’t have anything about them. They were filth. "Awww, are you angry?" They would stop as they started to walk with her. With Sylvia still having her smile.
She would start to walk onto the island, being in the main part with all of them wearing colorful clothes. Sylvia was wearing her Normal Clothes. (In my app.)
Kunugi walked through the pure white town taking in the sights. Not that there was much to see, since the entire town was bleached white. In fact, it was disturbingly easy to get lost in a place like this. Even Kunugi who had an excellent sense of direction had found himself wandering in circles occasionally. He had to use the position of the sun to keep his bearings as he moved through the center of town.
The people here eyed him suspiciously as he moved through town. Most all of them wore clothes as white as the town itself. His all-black outfit stood out. Someone like himself wearing a fully colored outfit would usually be the mark of a wealthy aristocrat around these parts, except that these sorts usually wore bright and garish colors in their ensemble. Seeing someone wearing so much color, but all pitch black seemed to leave the locals at a loss for how to treat him. Surely someone who could afford so much non-white clothing must be rich, right? But why was it all black? Black wasn't a color of wealth like red or blue. Was he a fancy noble? Or was he some poor sod who could only get his hands on black-colored clothing? This conundrum clearly marked Kunugi as an outsider here on Gesso, and this fact was not lost on the local troublemakers.
Three men of short stature had approached Kunugi, (apparently trying to sneak up on him) and made a move to try and snatch his small bag from the back of his waist. Kunugi knew that there were thieves around this island who would cut colored items and clothing from travelers and spirit them away. However, since he wore all black, they were probably hoping that they could find more interesting materials in his bag. This was, in fact, true as the bag held his blue coat. All 3 men had met pain and misfortune in their endeavors, including the last man who's head Kunugi had smashed through a wooden door of a nearby house. He had left the figure twitching and bleeding and another man had come along with a cup to collect the beautiful red blood.
Kunugi had a day to kill before the Log Pose reset, so he was in no particular rush. He was looking for somewhere to eat when a group down the street caught his eye. A bunch of rough-looking men walking around a young pretty girl. Kunugi thought that perhaps she was someone important and the men were her bodyguards given the way they seemed to shy away from her a bit, almost as if they were afraid of her. What really made them stand out though was that all of them were wearing full-color clothing. Outsiders perhaps? Maybe he could have a little fun with this situation. After all, he needed to kill some time, didn't he?
Sylvia thought this island could be fun, it was well known that people from here attack people because of their colorful clothes. This was the reason, she asked all them to wear clothes that had color, also allowing them to worry, by adding her little game into the mix. As they started to walk, she would find it boring nobody of rank or fun came out. This island was marine free, which was good news for her. She was not ready to take them head on. As they started to walk, they would see a man. As some of the men looked even more scared for a short moment.
She looked at them asking, to see why they became like this. "Is something the matter? You can't be that scared of this island." One of the few men that notice something would speak. "That man over there miss.........is a pirate, with a 75,000,000 bounty on his head." Sylvia would look at this man, he had white hair, as she would walk over to him, being amazed. Telling her group. "Act like your my bodyguard's. Also make it out, like if someone takes me, my father will give them money for my return. This should be fun." She was a noble, and rich, well she wouldn't be classed as that anymore because of her bounty but she wishes to play a game with this pirate. Sylvia would act playfully.
"Hello, are you a pirate?
" She would say with a smile. As her group would speak. "Miss, stay away from him, he is a pirate that would take you right away for your wealth." Sylvia would say acting playful she couldn't help it. "I'm sure he is a nice. Look at him, he has character unlike you." That would annoy them. She liked seeing what type of pirate he was. If he would try anything stupid. Sylvia was sure. She could take him, it was not like someone really could kidnap her. She liked having people think. She was weak. Then taking them down.
Kunugi hadn't expected the group of people to walk right over to him. In fact, the girl at the middle of the group actually spoke to him. That was peculiar. Most people tended to keep away from Kunugi if they actually payed enough attention to notice him in the first place. But there she was, standing in front of him asking him if he was a pirate and chatting with her bodyguards about how he was probably a nice person... He wasn't.
Kunugi put his arms behind his back and leaned forward smiling at the girl. Hmm... Kunugi muttered quietly, as if considering something. Suddenly Kunugi's arm shot out from behind his back. In a blur, the bodyguard standing immediately to Sylvia's left lost his head. Cut cleanly at the neck. The head rolled across the ground to Sylvia's feet. Kunugi's face had twisted slightly, his eyes narrowing and his smile becoming decidedly sinister. In his outstretched right hand Kunugi held a black, straight-bladed short-sword.
As the shock of what he had done slowly began to lift from the crowd around them in the street, a scream went up and people began to flee. As the scream sounded, Kunugi's eyes snapped over to the bodyguard to Sylvia's right. Spinning a full 360 degrees in an instant, Kunugi plunged the tip of the blade into the man's chest. His eyes shifted back to Sylvia. I do hope you aren't just some rich bimbo taking a walk. I'm awfully bored today, and these brutes of yours are really quite weak. Not very good sport if you ask me.
Sylvia would see two of her men fall in a matter seconds. It was shocking, she couldn't keep up with his movements at all. Just who was he? All she would do is smile, as she kicked the man's head away with all her group being scared. Still, wouldn't lose her playful tone. "Well, you killed two people in a matter of seconds, and you don't even look sorry." With that she had her idea, the moment he said that it was boring to him.
"Well, if you're finding it boring how about a game, but my games, are not simple, the rules can be anything we wish. It can be about how much we can kill or see if someone can catch the other, but here is the fun part. We both put something up, that we might wish to have from the other person."
Sylvia would start to smile, as she would say the last part of her game. "It could be you wish for me to buy you a new sword, or you could wish for something else, or the person's freedom, with the loser becoming a maid or butler to the winner, it can last one day or the rest of the person's life." Sylvia would say all this with a smile, thinking what he would do. She would wait, to see if he would wish to play and to see what he might wish to have. "We will make the deal only last one day if you pick any of them." Sylvia would look at him still being playful.
This wouldn't be the first time, that Sylvia has played her games, it was the reason. She had so many people with her. Who looked really scared right now, looking at the man that just killed two of them in seconds.
Kunugi listened to what the girl had to say. A game? Could be fun, he supposed. Something to pass the time, if nothing else. But this proposed reward for the winner of the game seemed dubious. The girl claimed that they could demand basically anything of one another for the period of a day... Kunugi didn't think the girl would be able to best him in a game like the ones she was proposing, but he didn't know for sure.
If the game had to do with killing or physical ability, he thought that he would probably have the advantage over her (though one could never really say in the Grand Line). However, Kunugi had heard of the Davy Back games, and knew that there were many pirate "games" that involved trickery and deceit. It was possible that the girl might have a particular game in mind that would give her an advantage.
Kunugi thought for a moment and then shrugged. Your proposal intrigues me, but I do have 2 questions for you. First: Who picks the game? Logic would dictate that since you are challenging me, I should pick the game. But, then it would be more polite of me to allow the lady to pick the game. My second question is this: After the game is picked, do we have the option to decline the game once the rules are explained? Or are we locked in once we have agreed?
Sylvia would hear this man speak, it was odd, she has seen many pirates, weak ones and cocky one's with him having a high bounty it was not shocking but he thought of everything. Many just think she is weak, and can't fight, but he even took the possible of her picking a game. He wouldn't be able to win at. He could become a problem if the wrong game was picked, as she would say being playful once again. "You're a smart one, I have played many games, but you're the first to ask them, two simple questions." Liliana didn't think it would be a bad idea, to tell him who she was, he might not know or care, but he can think of it. As a prize.
"For being the first to think about the game, and what it might in tail. I will give you three prizes. First, I am not from this island, My name is Sylvia Vermillion, and I am a wanted pirate like yourself, with a bounty of 80,000,000, a little higher, and your own, sorry." She would say with a smile, looking at him. "Your next prize is you can pick the game, but you must tell me, what you wish to have if you can win after you tell me, I will say my own order, I wish for you to follow."
"The last one is, you see the people with me. I don't think anything of them, they are weak simple idiots, that try to, well, you know pirates and when they see a girl like me. They get ideas, I don't respect them one bit, but all of them lost."
Sylvia was still playing her playful tone. As she would keep speaking. "Unlike you, they didn't ask anything about the game and thought it was already won, but someone who has a high bounty like you, and still taking into account that a random woman like myself could win with a trick, you have shown, you're nothing like them." Sylvia has faced NPC's and real characters in her game, but he was the first to think about it. All the mooks looked angry, but Sylvia didn't care about them one bit.
Kunugi's eyebrow twitched as Sylvia spoke. True she was complimenting him on being keen enough to catch her trap, but it felt a little like she was saying "Good job on not being as dumb as I thought you were." He couldn't help but get a little annoyed at the unspoken words hidden behind her cute-act. Still, Kunugi continued smiling politely as Sylvia continued her explanation. As she spoke, Kunugi slid his short-sword back into it's scabbard on his back waist, hidden behind the waist bag that held his coat and other sundries. It seemed he wouldn't need it any longer.
Kunugi was surprised to hear that Sylvia had such a high bounty. Even higher than his own... He would have to do something about that... And that thought gave him an idea. If he lost it would seem that Sylvia would want him to follow her order, whatever that meant. It was a pretty broad demand and didn't really tell him much. Still, he figured he could deal with whatever she had in store, so long as they set one more rule about the game. He doubted that she would disagree.
Sylvia Vermillion. I recognize the name. I seem to recall seeing your bounty poster, though I didn't recognize you at first. I really must pay more attention. Kunugi crossed his hands behind his back and turned to face away from Sylvia. Saying that you "Wish for me to follow" doesn't tell me much about what you are planning on having me do. So, I'd like to place one more rule on the game. I don't think you will mind though. The rule is, whatever we demand of the loser of this game, we cannot command the person to die or permanently maim themselves. I don't plan on dying on this silly little island at the entrance to Grand Line, and I am quite attached to all my arms and legs and such.
Kunugi turned back to face Sylvia. If you can agree to these terms, then I will tell you my own demand. Call me materialistic, but I prefer rewards that I can take with me when all is said and done. I will take you up on the offer to buy me a weapon. I don't much care what it is. It could be a pistol, or a short sword similar in style to the one I already have. Doesn't have to be fancy. Simple will do. I can find a use for anything such as this. I do have to ask though... Even though you are an up-and-coming pirate, can you afford to buy me something such as this? I would hate to make a deal like this only to find out you can't pay up in the end...
Sylvia didn't think of him as stupid even if he thought that way. "It's no shock you have no idea who I am. I was not a pirate when I first gained my bounty. Even now I don't think of myself as one." Sylvia would let out a small laugh from his rule, as she looked at him once more. "Aww, don't worry, I find killing someone that could be a little fun to me, would be foolish. I gain nothing from your death. I think it's more fun keeping people like you around." Sylvia would look at him setting rules. "Okay, if your rules are done. I will tell you my request."
Sylvia would listen to him speak. "I don't have much money it would be easy if you ask for something else, but I do find it boring you asking for something so simple, you can wish for anything of the person like here is my command." Reading about a pirate who is feared and strong, doing a stupid action would be fun for her.
"If I win, the next marine base you spot, you have to attack them wearing nothing, but your underwear, and say I was here because I lost to the powerful Sylvia."
Sylvia would let out a small laugh once more. "See my request can last for a lifetime, with you only doing one action, what would the world think of a pirate with your rank and title, doing something like this, and putting my name into it. Well, what would the world think of the person, that can make someone with your power do this type of action?"
Sylvia did this for a laugh, she could read on the way home. "It will also give me something to read on my ship, so please try to be a little better with your wish, so you better not lose, or your pirate rep will be gone, for a long time." Sylvia would say having a smile. Simple request, which could ruin a pirate image.
