Actually, now that she thought about it, not that she was much, she could tell that something was up with her lower leg, although again, she paid it no mind. Instead, she continued to tear through the marine ranks, grabbing the nearest man to her and pulling him into her other hand, balled up into a fist. Upon shattering his jaw and forcing it back into his head, she threw the now unconscious man into a crowd, of three other marines, following the attack up with a swing with her guitar, hitting each of them with entertaining thuds in the side of the head, the four unconscious now falling to the ground. She seemed to be making a habit of throwing and following up though, she needed to mix things up a little bit.

As another three gun wielders fell to colourful arrows being implanted in their bodies, some marines began to realise that the redhead wasn’t the only issue, turning to try and make an advance on the rainbow haired girl at the back. About six in total, two with swords, one with a club and the rest unarmed began running towards her, too many for her to snipe in quick succession. In panic, her first shot missed, as did her second. By the time they were close she only managed to take out one, the leading sword wielder who got an arrow in the throat. The others seemed mildly disheartened, but not enough to stop charging, raising their weapons to strike. Mae only just managed to dodge backwards, now having to try and flee.

“DON’T YOU DARE!”

A voice bellowed through the cavern, as two of the man at the back of the group, both unarmed, found their heads being thrown together, a crushing sound able to be heard as they dropped to the ground. Sneering slightly, the redhead continued charging, trampling over the men who were now out cold and on the floor. Continuing the back up, the rainbow haired girl fired off another arrow, catching the other sword wielder in the arm, causing him to drop his weapon and drop back behind the group accidentally. The moment this happened, he dropped unconscious, a solid punch making contact with the back of his head, and then a hand pulling from behind and throwing him down.

“I SAID… DON’T!”

The three marines only just managed to turn in time for the club wielder to have his face broken, the brunt of a guitar falling upon it with the force of immense anger, enough to shatter a normal person’s bones. He fell to the floor as the men raised their weapons, a sword and both fists. Turning away from an archer was a bad idea though, as the swordsman swiftly toppled to the ground, an arrow in his back and another in his neck, his breathing suddenly very weak. The unarmed man froze, as the redhead approached him and picked him up by the throat, pulling him closer and growling as his eyes rolled up into his head out of fear and the lack of oxygen to his head. Needless to say, this didn’t matter to Raine as she pushed him down into the ground, his face smashing into the rocks below foot and cracking the floor. Her face briefly twitching, she approached her partner, attempting to cool off a little bit for a second.

“You ok?”

Her breathing was still heavy and angry, but she managed to offer a hand out to her partner, helping her up to her feet and brushing her off. She squeezed her hand lightly, before turning back towards the marines who were beginning to move in on them. In the distance she could make out some sort of fight going on between Nakashima and a strong looking marine, a weird light emanating from their brawl. She supposed she’d take out those in her way and then take a look. So… Time to crush some skulls.

“RUN IF YOU WANNA LIVE!”

This was an empty note though, as right now, as she allowed her anger to build and embraced it, she planned on hunting down every single one of them and crushing them into a dust. Sprinting forwards she drew back her fist, getting in close before most could prepare themselves and punching the first marine she got to in the chest, noticing that two around him fell too one after another as an arrow arrived in their bodies. She hadn’t been keeping count of how many had fallen, but there was the odd body strewn across the room, many of which weren’t even marines. She could see a few of their captors in the midst of a fight, capable but nowhere near as efficient as her and her partner were.

The next man she targeted looked to be a little younger than the rest, perhaps a new recruit or something. That didn’t matter to her, he’d chosen the wrong profession after all. Still, he had a lot to learn so she managed to not kill him, grabbing him by the arm instead and crushing it, then spinning around and throwing him at another nearby man, their screams loud and pained. She smirked slightly, rushing another man as she began to realise she was being surrounded, punching straight downwards and knocking him down. Her breathing was heavier now, she was getting tired it appeared, and no doubt Mae was feeling the same with the effort it’d take to draw her bow and fire. In fact, this was true, for although she was able to take out anyone that made their way towards her with a slight higher level of confidence, she was slowing up.

Thankfully, the marines didn’t seem to notice this, their confidence wavering despite their captain still being alive for the moment. Perhaps he would be her next target? No, Raine wanted to make these men suffer. They dared to attack her, and they dared to not kill their damn captors yet! In fact… Running towards the circle around her, she aimed at one of the pirates from before, the marines quickly breaking their circle around her and trying to move away from her. Unfortunately one such marine didn’t quite escape, and was quickly grabbed by the shirt. He screamed in fear, and the redhead growled, slamming her head into his, aiming for the bridge of the nose and causing his screaming to stop, probably unconscious like the others. Once near enough to one of the pirates who was currently fighting a marine with a sword, she brought the unconscious man to her front and barged into them, throwing the fighting men to the floor. The pirate looked up in surprise, only just making out a fist flying towards his face before he was out of it. The marine he’d been fighting quickly crawled back and scurried behind allies.

“YOU’RE ALL GONNA PAY”

Raine was still extremely mad, and she hadn't even noticed the small scrapes, bruises and cuts she'd received from slight swipes and slices from the marines. When she did, she'd naturally get a whole lot worse. Only one captor remained, with another nearby having been stabbed by a marine and having bled out. He would naturally be her next target, and then the remaining marines which surrounded her would die too. Only about twenty were left, but it felt like more to be honest. Many were scared and disheartened, no longer charging in, instead hanging back away from them, even from the pirate captor which remained. This was perfect…

Sheathing both blades, he stepped a couple feet back, and lifted two lightweight blades from the large pile of gear in the back of the cavern. Not wanting to risk his own weapons, these would have to do until he found something better, or figured a way to best this new issue. He still had his trump card, though he'd rather not use it so early in his journey.... After all, he had just entered the grand line - if a mere Lieutenant could force him into a corner, he wouldn't last long...

pushing against his ribs softly, they were indeed cracked. That would be a pain throughout the rest of this. Testing both legs and arms, those bones seemed to be in tact - at least enough to continue fighting. Resting as he tapped his legs, the swordsman caught his breath, and began to realize he had been baited into this situation and had once again let his opponent dictate the path of the fight.

Gritting his teeth, he met the Lieutenant's eyes, and knew he would win at the end of this, though what worried him was the amount of damage he would take throughout the fight. His speed was only just better, and would only serve him as an irritation, and the swordsman could tell from his opponent's build that he was the weaker one of the two - those gauntlets must weigh quite a lot to begin with.

Pushing off his back leg, the swordsman dashed forward, and around his opponent. Narrowly dodging a punch, he realized his opponent was quickly becoming accustomed to his speed - something he had actually anticipated though hadn't thought would occur so quickly. Jumping back as he felt the heat from the glowing steel, he skidded to a stop, and was unsure of what he could do to get past him.

Theoretically, he could just wait the gauntlets out - after all, the dial would eventually run out, and at that point, the Lieutenant would be at his mercy... Shaking the idea out of his head, Nakashima was no coward, and wouldn't weasel any type of victory like that. He was quickly running out of ideas, and feeling very cornered as he saw an opening.

The lieutenant's attack had a massive blind spot - If he could get into it, he could deal some serious damage and retreat before he was in any danger. Repeating the same charge as before, he sidestepped the punch and slid into his opponent's blindspot smoothly. Thinking he was in the clear, he moved for a wide swing, looking to lop off an arm and give himself further openings.

Before the swordsman could react, he felt his flesh boil, and he heard a scream. Later, he would register the scream as his own, currently however he just knew he had to get away. Attacking wildly with his borrowed sword, the low quality weapon melted instantly against the red-hot gauntlets, and molten metal dropped onto his opponents arm, causing him to loosen his own grip.

Jumping backwards and clearing a large space between the two, Nakashima had tears in his eyes as the excruciating pain slowly subsided into a constant painful throb. Ripping loose his tie, the swordsman grit his teeth as he wrapped it tightly around the wound without looking. He knew if he looked at the injury, he would panic far worse and push himself further into a corner.

"You... faked the... blind spot...." The swordsman spoke through labored breaths as he struggled to deal with the pain. "Co...ward...."

"Trahahahahaha" The lieutenant cackled "Yet who is the one wounded and on the verge of death?" meeting his eyes, the Lieutenant's eyes hardened "You destroyed a marine base, and killed marines who would make me look like an ant, yet this is the best you can do? And here I was afraid. It seems the World Government has underestim-"

Finally pulling the pain in, Nakashima slid the glove out of his back pocket, and slid it over his wounded arm. Given his plan, even with the severe burn, he could still accomplish this rather easily. Tossing aside the half melted sword, he drew his rapier, and stood.

"This battle... Is over." Nakashima spoke quietly, though his words seemed to echo.

Despite Rylan's proof of dominance throughout this entire time, he hesitated. Looking into his opponent's eyes, They were calm and rational, not the eyes of someone who just took the sort of damage he did.... "Cut the crap Nakashima! It's over! Surrender yourself and your crew and I can let you live! You can't defeat me!"

Smiling arrogantly, the swordsman reached into his pocket, and jingled a small bell before rushing forward with newfound speed. "GIVE ME VICTORY OR GIVE ME DEATH!"

A moment passed, the marines slowly backing up but remaining silent. Raine was breathing heavily, but she currently wasn’t moving, perhaps trying to regain some sort of control, or trying to recuperate from the extreme amount of pressure she was putting on her body. Mae had an arrow ready, but was yet to draw back the bow, as she too remained quiet and listened. The only sounds from that group which could be heard were the occasional groans and moans from beaten marines, as well as the remaining captor cursing.

Suddenly, the redheads head turned direction, as she began turning towards the pirate who stood alone. The marines apparently weren’t quite sure why she was going for her own as such, but it certainly was a worry for them. A crazily angry individual who seemed to be willing to kill anyone in front of her… That was scary. She became even more so as she charged across the room towards the remaining pirate, grabbing the exhausted man by the throat and throwing him straight down to the floor, his head hitting the ground with a thud. She growled as his eyes rolled back into his head, smacking him into the ground many more times until eventually she felt satisfied, rising to her feet and taking a huge breathe, before letting her body drop a little bit, and then catching herself just before hitting the ground, sprinting forwards into a cluster of marines.

The first one found himself flying towards a nearby rocky wall, crumpling to the ground soon after making contact with it. The second found himself flying towards the ground, a fist planting into his face and flinging him onto his back. Meanwhile another two dropped near the back of the group, with Mae still detached from the group and so capable of picking off a few without much trouble. Raine was the bigger issue of course, so she could remain only a small problem and pick off those she needed to.

With a mighty roar, and a huge amount of her energy, Raine crashed her fist into a group of marines, knocking two down and one straight out. One quickly raised his sword in defence, cutting straight through a lower part of her top and a little bit of her skin, albeit hardly enough to even bother her. Nevertheless, it drew blood and that made her mad. Smacking the weapon aside without catching her hand, she was upon the man quickly, punching him firstly in the neck and then in the head, slamming him into the ground over and over again. The marine next to him tried to crawl away in fear, however he quickly found a firm grip on his leg, and then she swapped targets to him instead, smacking him in the chest only though, not killing him but crushing a few bones most likely.

“WHO ELSE?!”

By now only ten marines remained, with the butterfly girl having taken out a few more. They couldn’t help but back off even more, with five of them at first turning to run, before the first turned and fled. Roaring in anger, the redhead clambered up and charged after them, scooping up loose rocks from the floor and throwing them full pelt at the marines. Most escaped, but two fell to the rocks, and another two fell to arrows planting themselves in their backs. Now… Now it was just one marine left, although he didn’t seem completely aware of his current situation. The woman roared in anger, hefting her guitar and charging at the man. Whether he had fiery fists or not, she still planned on taking him down.

Whilst he focused on Nakashima, the redhead attempting to strike the man from behind, raising her guitar and hopefully slamming it down onto his back to throw him off guard. Of course there was a good chance he’d notice her, and at which point she would attempt to dodge backwards, raising her bare hands to block any incoming harm whilst flinging her weapon to the side. From here one of two things would happen. If her attack made contact, then she would dodge to one side and strike at his ribs in an attempt to cause some major harm. However if he turned and swung at her, then she would be flung presumably backwards, her hands scorched and her anger only rising, as well as her exhaustion levels. Naturally something else entirely could happen, but that’s just the fun of it all isn’t it?

Despite the bells' magic speeding him up, Nakashima was just barely fast enough to avoid the Lieutenant's punch. It was so close, he could feel the heat brush his face gently. Luckily, this was a situation where 'close enough' worked out...

Swinging his rapier backwards, he pierced his opponent's calf's and leapt towards the rear wall before the lieutenant could retaliate. Taking advantage of the situation, Nakashima attacked similarly for some time while, out of the corner of his eye, he could see his comrades making mincemeat of the left over marines. It wouldn't be long before this lieutenant was cornered and dead....

Dancing around his opponent, he could see the confidence fall from the Lieutenant's posture. He wasn't so sure victory was certain, and he was wary of the gloveNakashima now wore. Uncertainty and fear slowly climbed up his stomach, threatening to clamp around his heart. Nakashima, seeing this, went for the kill, knowing exactly how to end him.

Charging forward with confidence, Nakashima sidestepped before a large bellow erupted from behind the Lieutenant. Distracting both the swordsman, and the lieutenant, it was of no surprise that he saw Raine charging in blindly, swinging her guitar around like a madman....

Sliding in closer to the lieutenant, Nakashima made his move. He could see the man tiring out from swinging those heavy gauntlets around, and took advantage of that. Tapping his glove against his opponent's gauntlet made it mystically double in size. The reaction was instantaneous as the lieutenant tried to avoid the swinging guitar, and the gauntlets new weight slowed him far too much.

Nakashima heard the deafening crack of bones before he saw the shape of the lieutenants maltwisted spine pressed firmly against his skin.

Sheathing his swords, Nakashima returned the glove and bells to their rightful locations before kicking the lieutenant in the stomach - hard.

"That's for burning my arm."

Turning to exit the cave, he motioned for Raine and Mae to follow, intent on ransacking the base as well, both for gold, information, and notoriety.

Raine grinned as her attack did more than just off this guy’s guard. With his oversized and frankly stupid gloves, the redhead’s guitar came crashing down onto the Lieutenants back with a sickening crunch. Nobody was left conscious apart from her, Mae and Nakashima to hear the sound or see the sight of his spine breaking, yet she was still happy to see this man fall. After a kick to the stomach, the marine toppled to the ground, his gloves slowly stopping their glow and becoming dull. Smirking, she too added a kick to his stomach, before dropping down to her knees and hammering multiple punches into his torso, dropping her weapon next to her.

It took a while, but eventually the redhead began to calm down, although it was obvious she was still seething. Most the bones in that marine’s torso were now broken to some degree, although she could hear his faint breathing, meaning he’d probably survive. She wasn’t sadistic, but she was glad he was, just so he could suffer like he’d tried to make them suffer. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a cigarette, lighting it with her lighter and then hefting her weapon, throwing it across her back. After a few puffs, she threw her still lit deathstick onto the man’s unconscious body.

“Fuck you…”

With that, she brought out another and lit it, smoking again and walking off towards the caves entrance where Nakashima had headed off to. Mae swiftly joined her, her harp over her back and her arm wrapped around Raine’s. The redhead pulled her in close and took a deep breathe, trying to relax a little bit. Naturally she was still tense, and later would probably need to properly wind down, instead of pounding a marine to snot. She wondered what would happen to them now, Lieutenants were no mere feat to defeat, and to have some special gloves like those he had to be pretty high up and important. Oh well, the guy deserved it.

It took a while to get out of the cave, although she was thankful the bugs left them alone. She would have been aggravated if they’d tried anything. Eventually they reached the cave entrance though, as she shielded her eyes from the burning sun. It was still bright out, and with how bright the island was naturally it took a while for her eyes to adjust. They did though, and for eventually managing to escape, alive at that, it deserved a drink. Putting her cigarette out underfoot on the grass, she reached into her pack and grabbed a bottle of Drum whisky, popping the cap off and taking a few large gulps, sighing slightly after doing so. Looking over towards their butler looking friend, she held it out to him.

“Want any?”

She was feeling generous. If he wanted any she’d naturally pass him it, and then wait for it back, before offering it to Mae. She happily declined, which was fair enough. She didn’t drink much, and when she did it was always something a bit sweeter. She didn’t take alcohol that well anyway.

“So now what?”

The Swordsman watched Raine's followed assault on the marine, and chuckled. They wouold get along just fine - which was good, considering they both had a bone to pick with a certain half-faced pirate. Nakashima couldn't really get a feel for the other rainbow-haired girl, as they hadn't had any direct conversations or anything similar. She seemed rather competent with her bow, which was always something a close-quarters fighter could use. The more he thought about it, he realized how dangerous a pair the two women truly were. Turning, he continued his way out of the cave

Nakashima pushed his way through the cave - His arm was throbbing pretty badly now, and he was having trouble focusing. Luckily, the oversized bugs left them alone for the quiet walk out. Usually, the swordsman would be well on his way to finding a way off this island, considering the trouble he caused, though with his struggling in his two most recent fights he knew he'd need some help, or at the very least - information. If he could find some files or something similar on notable pirates or marines active within the Grand Line and New World, it would be a huge leap in getting him prepared.

Stepping out of the cave, Nakashima was momentarily blinded. The impressively bright sun, reflecting off the white sands of the island, was torture to his eyes which had become accustomed to the dim light of the cavern torches. Shielding his eyes, it took him several seconds to be able to open them without any pain. Sitting next to his new comrades, he examined them both for the first time outside of a rushed environment. Both were rather attractive in their own right, the rainbow haired girl moreso than the other. Shrugging the thought out of his mind, he realized Raine was offering him a drink.

Smiling widely, he chuckled as he took the bottle "Now you're speaking my language!" Taking a deep gulp of the smooth liquor, Nakashima was already feeling much, much better. Smiling, he passed the bottle back, and watched them partake in the amber liquid momentarily. It was then Raine asked what he planned.

"This wasn't my first tussle with the Marines..."

Continuing, he explained the events of United Teriyaki States, his temporary alliance with Annabeth 'Asylum' Hooverfield, the deaths of Lieteunant Jonathan, Commander Hiraku, and the Commodore. Annabeth's framing of him and the irritating cat-woman who had been such a hindrance.

"...Which is why I've become a target here in the Grand Line. Pirate and Marine alike want to test their mettle against the blade of one of the two new superstar rookies. After all, I've been a pirate for quite a short amount of time, and my first bounty is nearly 100 million beli..."

He drifted into silence and let his comrades fully absorb the reality of who he was, and what they would be getting into traveling with him if they did decide to stay together. Nakashima wanted too. Comrades could be useful, and these two had plenty of time to betray him in the cavern. He'd also like to find Jack once again - Having a swordsman nearby would have been immaculate in his training. He was worried about the other swordsman, given the circumstances of his disappearance. Calm had ran like a coward, Jack however had never made it to the cavern. Again, pushing the thoughts from his mind, he spoke up, addressing the task at hand.

"My plan is to attack the military base. Given the size of the island, and the idealisms of the locals, I doubt there would be anyone stronger at this base specifically. On top of that, they knew I was here, and believed I was responsible for the death of a Commodore. They would have sent their strongest."

Again, he gave them a second to absorb what he had just said, this time however he didn't let his mind wander and give them time to object. Continuing on, he explained why

"As of now, we share a goal: Killing that bastard who humiliated the lot of us. We have no information on him though, and need to gather some. Given his activity on this island, they should have a Dossier File on him in the base. Not to mention, files on any high-ranking marines or pirates active within these oceans would be huge for us."

Sitting down next to Nakashima and taking her drink back, she glanced to Mae who shook her head, and then took another large gulp, allowing the burn to slide down her neck, smiling slightly as it did so. Raine then sighed heavily, looking down over her body and finally realising to the extent that she’d been pushing herself. Pretty much her whole body was stained red, an extreme contrast to the white rocks and grass beneath her butt and feet. Her clothing was torn and stained, her knuckles were busted and bleeding profusely still, and she was pretty sure there was some internal damage done too. Reaching into her pack again she grabbed a water bottle and began pouring it over her hands, wincing as the pain finally kicked in.

“That’s quite a tale you’re weavin’ there Shimmy. Can’t say we’ve managed to avoid the marines entirely either. Had a bit of a punch up with them back in the Blues. But… Can’t say we’ve taken down a whole base either”

She continued to wash her hands with water until she was satisfied, and then moved on to cleaning up her guitar. Surprisingly it still remained in good condition, but she knew she’d need to clean off the blood and bone fragments either way. Wetting down a piece of her top which was actually clean, she began scrubbing the weapon instrument clean, pondering about this Nakashima guy quietly. To rise to almost 100 Million in one sitting was no mere feat, and put her on edge slightly. Heck, she only have a single Million on her head. She’d been going all out in those fights though, so… Had he been holding back? Perhaps it would be best to try and control her rage when it came to him, although he seemed pretty alright so far.

“As long as you don’t screw us over, I won’t have a reason to break your legs. I don’t care the number on your head, just who you are”

Mae leant round the redhead and began nodding, agreeing with the statement. In all honesty, bounty was just a number, and the only thing she liked about it was to see the marines slowly grow more and more scared of her, raising her number just to try and protect their arses. She hadn’t seen the number grow yet but… It’d come with time she was sure, especially with their goal in mind. Find that betraying son of a bitch and sort him out, one way or another.

Finishing up her cleaning of her weapon, she laid it down on the ground for it to bask in the sun and to dry off. Although it had a proper protective glazing, she still didn’t want to risk the wood and metal expanding and rusting respectively. Plucking a string or two, she made sure it was in tune, before throwing her pack to the ground and beginning to rummage through it. She stopped suddenly though as Nakashima suggested attacking their base. Toying with the idea for a moment, she allowed a grin to grow on her face.

“Sounds like you’ve got yourself a plan there”

Perhaps they could give it a shot, although she wasn’t exactly the type to attack a whole base… Actually, yes she was. Pulling out a fresh pair of clothing for herself, and then another pair for Mae, she listened to the swordsman’s plan. She’d almost forgotten about that masked moron that had thrown her about and knocked them all unconscious before, having been too focused on the fight with the marines. Thinking about that monkey man made her blood begin to boil, her only controlling factor was that he wasn’t there right now for her to hit him. Slamming her fist into the ground and cracking the rock beneath, she smirked.

“I’m not one for sneaking into places and stealing shit, but if it means getting that banana eating shit-stain back for what he did, then I’m in. I’ll crush his skull in my bare hand like we crushed those marines”

She frowned slightly, noticing that her hand was bleeding again. Cursing under her breath she reached into her bag and grabbed some wraps, pouring some of her whiskey over each hand and then wrapping them up tightly, growling slightly in pain. She knew it was the safest way to do things though. Once tight enough, she went back to drinking, until she’d finished off the whole bottle. With a grin, she threw it behind her, hearing the satisfying smash against the rocks. She had no clue how they would manage to pull off this plan, but she was damn ready to give it a shot.

Nakashima was thankful for the pairs' understanding, yet suspicious of it too. People who truly didn't care about things such as bounty, or outer bullshit were few and far between. While many spout out about 'it's who you are that matters' not many held true to such a belief. However, Nakashima didn't feel any need to become threatening. If nothing else, the two would serve as a stepping stone to his rise in power through the Grand Line.

Smiling as recognition flew across Raine's features as she remembered Hyena D. Roofie, Nakashima knew he would have them as partners at least long enough to exact his revenge. Perhaps the trio would become friends... Nakashima shrugged - he had been alone for so long, that friends might slow him down at this point.

Though despite his sultry attitude, he couldn't help but feel at ease around these two. Raine was such a polar opposite of the cool-headed and calculated swordsman, that it was hard to believe they got along at all. Mae was quiet enough to be completely invisible if she wanted, and Nakashima found himself forgetting about her entirely until her rainbow colored hair bounced into his peripherals.

Standing and brushing off his clothing, his arm seared with pain as he moved it. Pulling out his own bottle of traditional sake, a weaker brand then he liked, he popped the cap, and pulled loose the wooden sheath of his sword. "Here goes nothing...." Biting down hard on the sheath, Nakashima poured the alcohol over his wound, circling his arm slowly as his eyes began to water, and small beads of sweat began to show up on his forehead. The pain wasn't as bad as he had expected, but was still excruciating to say the least.

Catching his breath as the bottle ran dry, he tossed it aside, and slid his sheathe back into his belt. Wiping away the tears that had formed, he smiled at his comrades, and motioned at the tracks in the white sand, there were tons - likely from the marines who had come before.

"Let's just follow these I guess. I don't really know where this base is." Nakashima shrugged, and waited.

Raine watched as the swordsman copied her actions and began sanitising his own wounds, pouring alcohol over it until and only just managing not to make much of a noise. She grinned at him and got to her feet, with Mae doing the same a moment later. Waiting for a moment, she listened as the man explained the simple task of following the footsteps back to the marine base. She supposed that would be sufficient, and nodded in approval.

“Give us a second, then I guess we can give that a shot”

With that, she made her way behind a rock, carrying their neatly folded clothing with her and placing it on an outcropping of rock. Picking up Mae’s dress, she threw it to the girl who caught it, whilst the redhead began working on her own clothes. As soon as she had hidden herself behind the rock, the rainbow haired girl emerged once again, no longer wearing her previous clothing but now wearing a long dress going just past her knees, with the top half a soft black, and the lower part a foresty green colour, with black vines across it. On her feet she wore dark black plimsolls, and on her head a large pale straw hat with a flower on the top.

Meanwhile, Raine had just about managed to change clothing, and a little while later walked out, now wearing a tight fitting light grey t-shirt, some baggy full length dark blue trousers, her normal pale coloured sandals and a number of brightly coloured hairbands on her wrists. Having folded up all their old clothing, she was stuffing it all back into her bag as she made her way back towards the group, pausing once she got there to scan the tracks again.

“Alright, here’s the deal. The marines wouldn’t have known we were in their on their own would they? I didn’t see their place in town, so I’d say there’s a good chance someone sold us out. I don’t know about you, but that makes me… Really fucking mad…”

She clenched her fists and looked over towards the town, her breathing getting heavier as her mind began to focus in on what she’d love to do to the inhabitants of the town. Someone there must have seen their bounty or something and reported it, unless that scumbag Calm had decided to sell them out. She had a feeling not though, it must have been a town member.

“I say, we pay them a little visit… Then we can ask them for some directions, as well as set them straight… Sound good?”

Naturally it wouldn’t take too long to take a little havoc to help calm her down, and even with her ankle now hurting a little bit. She’d almost forgotten the injury again, but the bandaging she’d received whilst unconscious must have been pretty decent. Not waiting up for a response, she began trudging towards town, gripping her guitar strap a little tighter as she began thinking about just what sort of chaos she’d like to wreak to get her own back. Mae seemed hesitant, and looked back hopefully towards Nakashima. Either he’d try and help calm down the angry redhead, or he’d join in.

With the women hiding behind their rocks, Nakashima didn't bother averting his eyes - he couldn't see anything regardless. Instead he took a moment to look around, and try and get a layout for the island. He had been so rushed in coming down here in his rage, that he had forgotten a fundamental rule of strategy - always check your exits. Had the marines waited for them to exit on their own accord, they easily could have bottlenecked them in the cavern with only the single exit he could see....

Sighing as he realized how much growing he had to do before he could stand a chance here in the Grand Line. As Raine came forward and began outlining the likelihood that someone had ratted them out, Nakashima got a pretty damn good idea who had done it. Pure white-hot anger could be seen crossing his face, though he didn't let it take control of him - not this time. "Follow me. I know exactly who ratted us out."

It didn't take the trio long to get to their destination. Nakashima stood in front of the small building, and took a moment to compose himself. Kicking in the door, a small surgery table was thrown across the room. Apparently they had tried to barricade themselves in. "Show yourselves you fucking cowards!"

Nakashima knew it had to be either the Doctor or the man who had welcomed him to the island. Though, it seemed they were friends, and he wouldn't be surprised to find them both here. Sliding his rapier from its sheathe smoothly, he was pretty pissed at this point.

There were two doors in the room they were currently in; turning to Raine, he offered the option to her: "Would you rather split up and check all 3 or go door by door?"

For once, Raine actually paused, turning her head slightly towards the swordsman. So he knew who had sold them out to the marines hey? Well, it’d certainly save unnecessary killings, although for how long she didn’t know. But, at least for now she would comply, allowing Mae to catch her up and taking her hand. It was unlikely she would go crazy and attack someone whilst holding her partners hand, so that would help. She couldn’t help but feel like the town’s people were still to blame, for not stopping whoever it had been in the first place… But specific circumstances called for specific actions, and she would see once they were there.

The walk to the town didn’t take too long, and before long they were weaving in and out of the colourless buildings. It was a miracle Nakashima could remember his way around, although it could have been a fluke for all she knew, having lost track of where they were almost instantly when entering the maze of duplicate houses. Once at the front door, their butler friend swiftly kicked out, throwing the door open and scattering a table across the room. It didn’t take much effort to realise this had been a poor attempt at hiding away, like the traitorous rats they were.

“All I can really say is… IF YOU’RE I HERE YOU’D BETTER DUCK!”

Releasing Mae’s hand, the angry redhead charged forwards and grabbed the surgery table, hefting it above her head and facing towards the closest door in the room which they hadn’t gone through, and threw it full pelt. With a loud smash, it crashed into the door and threw the wooden structure off its hinges, the table continuing its path into the opposite wall. If anybody had been in the way there, well they certainly weren’t anymore. In fact, they’d probably be a red mush against the wall with the force of which it had hid the wall, leaving a cobweb of damage on impact. Roaring, Raine charged into the room, looking around swiftly to see if there was anyone to pound on.

The rainbow hair girl watched in awe. It had been a while since they’d been in a proper fight, and certainly nothing as destructive as today’s fights. Deciding that it would be best to stick to Nakashima’s plan, she moved over to the next nearest door and carefully turned the handle, noticing it wouldn’t budge. Frowning slightly, she drew an arrow and stuck it into the lock of the door, stabbing at the overly basic mechanisms a few times before the lock merely dropped off. Not quite as scary as smashing the door off, but… It did the job. Pushing the door open, she drew her harp and readied the arrow, aiming it at about normal persons head height and crept into the room, looking about to see if she could find anyone. If she saw anyone, she wouldn’t hesitate to shoot, although not to kill. On the other hand, if Raine saw anyone her natural reaction would be to charge the person, knock them to the floor, and crush their ribs, even if they did turn out to be innocent.

Nakashima watched on in mild interest as the two women took two separate doors. Their unique ways of opening their doors intrigued him, though neither surprised him much. Taking on the final door himself, his rapier moved like a blurred as he cut the lock and handle out of the door, letting it fall to the ground with a satisfying clunk.

As the door fell open, Nakashima's eyes scanned the open room. Finding nothing immediately, he scanned more thoroughly, and still found nothing. Turning, he went to investigate Raine's room when a loud crash echoed out of the hole where the door was.

Sliding into the room smoothly, the scene played out in front of Nakashima. He could only see Raine on top of a body, pounding away. Scanning the room to check for other dangers before approaching his temporary comrade, Nakashima lightly placed his hand on her shoulder - The man's face wasn't even recognizable at this point, let alone his body. However, Nakashima couldn't seem to calm the woman down. Stepping into the hall, he motioned for Mae to come, and he decided to look through the rest of the building while the two handled anything they needed too.

Stepping out, Nakashima glanced quickly through the room Mae had been in. There were a couple of human-sized containers he saw that might be hiding someone but he doubted it. Just to be safe however, he walked through and checked each individually. Finding nothing, he walked outside and awaited the women. He couldn't figure out why neither the doctor nor the greeter had been here. Shrugging it off, he wanted to get to the marine base as soon as possible and get off this island. The sooner he could put this day behind him, the better it would be.

Raine, as had already been noticed, was currently slamming her fists consecutively into the chest and face of the man laid on the floor. She hadn’t caught a glimpse of his face before knocking him to the floor, and had simply just laid into him, her anger remaining at uncontrollable levels. Blood could be seen coating her fists and the body, and it wasn’t until she heard a familiar voice that her angry slowly began to recede.

“I don’t think that was him”

The redhead frowned, her fists still raining down onto the body for a little while longer before she stopped, sitting back slightly and breathing heavily. Quickly, she threw one last punch at the man, before rising to her feet, brushing off the crimson from her hands and looking around the room. She’d almost forgotten where she was there for a moment, but when she remembered… She couldn’t help but feel her anger return. Putting her foot under the body, she kicked slightly and rolled it over so that they could no longer see the disfigurement which she had caused.

“Then where the hell is he?”

She couldn’t help but almost spit those words out, pulling out her old clothes and wiping her hands on them as she did so. She really couldn’t stand backstabbers… And where the hell was Nakashima? Heading back towards the door, she threw her bag across her back again and walked out of the building to find the swordsman, noticing that he didn’t seem particularly drained of energy or anything.

“Is he not here?”

She couldn’t help but feel like he’d led her on a wild goose chase, and although maybe not intentional, it certainly aggravated her. Who had she been punching back there then if it wasn’t that backstabber that he’d told them about? She hissed slightly, grabbing a cigarette from a pack and lighting it, leaning against the building for a moment and thinking things through. Should she even feel bad for what she’d just done? She didn’t know, although right now she wasn’t. A moment later Mae walked out too, standing next to the angry redhead for a moment, remaining quiet as to allow her to cool down slightly. If she interrupted her cool off period she wouldn't calm properly and it'd end up with her taking it out on another innocent later down the line. She couldn't blame her though, and she was completely used to her anger. Raine merely continued breathing in the cigarette for a bit, before stamping it out on the floor and waiting for the swordsman to answer.

"What now then?"

The redhead continued, hoping to get a useful answer. In all honesty, she didn't know what to do with herself. She was more than happy to break down a few nearby walls to try and find the backstabber, but doubted she'd actually find anything, and would just cause chaos for no reason. Not that she was totally against it or anything. The marine base... It was perhaps a good idea, but she wasn't so sure if she wanted to without some revenge.

One perfect eyebrow arched high as Raine's anger was clear. Despite the reputation following the swordsman, this woman seemed undaunted by him. Irritation prickled throughout his body as he thought of the best way to answer her questions without causing an issue. The eerie silence of the town was wearing on his nerves. Something was wrong.

"It's quite possible that was him, or at least one of the two I had in mind."

Pausing before continuing, Nakashima's eyes scanned across the city, and still - nothing. No movement, noise, or people. Only wind flowing through the alleys making an eerie whistling sound that dragged against his nerves. His hands moving to his weapons, Nakashima's uneasiness only grew as the time did.

"Now we need to get to the base, get what we need, and evacuate. This dead town is bad news."

Nakashima didn't wait to begin heading for the aforementioned base - there was too much on the line at this point. The last time he had taken on the marines this publicly, he had one of the most powerful people he had ever met at his back, and now he only had these two women. While powerful enough, the three of them would be in serious trouble if any backup came.

It was a short walk to the base, which was also abandoned. Going a more peaceful route, Nakashima simple opened the door, and walked inside. Nakashima glanced through the various signs across the walls and followed the one he felt would lead him to what he wanted.

Opening a door labeled 'Documents' Nakashima found several filing cabinets. Starting on the left side, he opened them and began scanning for anything Monkhat related. Given the man's disastrous face, the monkhat was all Nakashima could really remember. Scanning through the next drawer, something caught his eye.

"Eve Senba..."

Opening the file, he read through it quietly. A Rear Admiral who rose to power after obtaining the powers of the Goro Goro no Mi, a powerful lightning logia. His hands tensed as he read further through the file. This. This is what he needed to become stronger.

"The Goro Goro no Mi... I'll make it mine."

Pocketing the file, Nakashima returned to the task at hand and continued scanning through. As he continued to find nothing, his irritation grew. Moving on to the next filing cabinet, he continued his search...

“Two?”

The redhead growled slightly, aware that this was going to be an even longer day than she’d originally planned. Right now she just wanted to find that traitor and tell him what she thought… With her fists… A lot. As she made an effort to re-bandage her hands, no longer bothering with the disinfectant and instead just wrapping her bloodied hands. Sighing heavily, the pushed off from the wall, and lightly took hold of Mae’s hand, who seemed more than willing to hold hers, albeit she kept thumbing her knuckles.

“Dead town? Hm, it will be after I find that son of a bitch…”

Still, if she’d taken out one of them then there was that to be happy about she supposed. Finding the other would be her priority though, and she was already planning on hunting them down before Nakashima began walking off. Dammit, she wanted to… Ugh, if this proved a waste of time she was really going to beat the guy, she didn’t even care. Her grip tightened on her partners hand slightly, but quickly loosened when she realised she might hurt her, and instead tutted, following the man for the sake of getting a much wider level of revenge. She wasn’t about to drop it, but her burning anger shone a whole lot brighter towards that weird monkey man, than some random doctor that might not have even sold them out.

The walk didn’t take too long, especially as once they’d figured out the direction they didn’t even need to follow the footsteps to the base. Raine was still angry, but nowhere near as much as she had been before. She’d been sort of sulking the whole way there, but with Mae’s company she’d been able to calm enough to not punch the swordsman, for although he tried to play it cool she really wasn’t a fan of that. Just… Ugh, at least he wasn’t boasting or anything, otherwise that sword was going somewhere painful for him.

It had been a while since the redhead had seen a marine base, especially close up. For almost as long as she could remember, her mind-set had been to avoid the stupid blue caps and their stupid bases. Yet here she was, walking straight through the front door. The first thing that became apparent was the lack of marines. They seriously hadn’t sent even their receptionists to fight, had they? She scoffed to herself, walking around in the vague direction of where the swordsman had gone as she scanned the walls and rooms for anything interesting, finding nothing but the general boring marine stuff.

Eventually she came to an ajar door though, listed as “Documents” which naturally was what they had been searching for. Peering through the door, she noticed their ally looking through files, slowly getting aggravated as he didn’t find what they wanted. Strolling in, she wrenched open a draw and had a look inside, flicking through the files until she discovered something of interest. It wasn’t a person, but instead a file covering information on “Devil-Fruits”. She scowled slightly, wondering where she’d heard that before. Maybe something from back on Drum, but in all honesty it just sounded stupid. Flicking through, she found nothing important, and shoved it back in the draw, however not before she heard a sound behind her. She spun quickly, only to realise it had been Mae, pulling a brightly coloured fruit out of her bag.

“Is that… One of those?”

Raine, despite now being in the Grandline, knew nothing about the fruits. The only thing she knew, was that they were famous for granting strength of sorts, and she only knew that because she’d just read it in that file. Perhaps… Perhaps it could be useful for something. But, when had Mae got her hands on one of those? Fortunately she appeared to be reading her mind.

“I found it in the caves, it’s so bright and pretty…”

The redhead smirked slightly, before turning towards the swordsman, wondering what he thought. Perhaps he’d know a little bit more about the stuff, although if he didn’t she would forever brand him as useless, not that she wasn’t already planning that. She was making a bad habit of hating on people before properly getting to know them, but… Whatever, he was a pain in the backside in her opinion.

“Any idea what this is?”

Ahhhhh

Turning round, Raine noticed that her rainbow haired partner had broken in to another one of her dazes, the bright colours apparently causing her to get rather excited, and most likely too overwhelmed by how cute it was. Personally, she didn’t find it cute, but… It was bright, and she knew Mae liked bright things, so she wasn’t about to burst her bubble. Well, she wasn’t going to. It appeared something else was going to instead.

“Ew, ew ew! It tastes yucky”

“Wait… What if it’s poisonous or something?!”

Turning even more pale, the usually angry woman began to panic, quickly snatching the fruit from her partners hand and placing it to one side, taking a hold of her and dragging her in, holding her face in her hands and searching for any signs of danger. She didn’t seem at all ill, apart from finding it a bit gross. Perhaps it was just a weird fruit native to the island, which had gone off by now or something. She wondered… Opening the draw again, she grabbed the file and began flicking through.

“What do you know about… Devil Fruits? Apart from their shitty naming”

Seriously, had they been named by a three year old? And what was with them having literally the word Devil in? Sure, she got fruit, but… She began to worry slightly, but retained her composure. Seriously, at a time like this why would Mae decide to suddenly do that? More importantly…

“Mae, are you feeling ok? Ill, healthy, strong?”

“I’m just fine, it just tasted gross. Just a normal completely off fruit is all, it didn't cause anything evil so...”

The redhead frowned a little bit, but relaxed a tiny bit, awaiting a response from Nakashima. They needed these files, and although there was no rush with all the marines having previously been beaten to a pulp… Well yeah.
