OOC: Reasons why I was late posting are a mixture of being busy irl and having to finish an SL with Dancer so I can begin my first SL with Maelstrom from the start without being skipped. Jack followed calmly after the other swordsman. He had no idea how strong this guy was, but he still looked forward to crossing blades with him. He also knew it would be good for his ego not to be stomped by a powerhouse like he did on Cactus island, which Nakashima didn't seem to be. That and the exercise would be so welcome after such a long trip at sea. He hadn't repaired Kaiyo yet though, so he'd have to use it like a wakizashi. He wondered if he'd be able to adapt easily in a fight or if he should just use Yugure alone. Arriving at the clearing in front of Nakashima, he drew Kaiyo first. "Excuse my sword, it's broken right now. Long story, but it's still usable. I'll do my best in any case.", and then he drew Yugure, comparing their current length for the first time. It seemed the balance wasn't too shabby, so he rolled with it. He certainly didn't want to project an image of weakness, but avoiding to address the obvious was part of a weak mindset that he despised, so he wasn't about to do so. It was time to start the spar, so Jack drew a deep breath and charged. He crossed his two blades together and raised them above his head to lend them as much strength as possible and then slashed downward at Nakashima in an obvious straightforward manner. Such an obvious maneuver would probably not work on someone experienced, but it was certainly a good way to gauge his reaction and see if he prefers dodging or blocking such moves. Though it didn't seem like it, Jack was aware that his sides were completely open for counters with such an attack. |

Nakashima eyed Jack wearily, while it wasn't the swordsman's usual nature to treat an opponent as anything remotely equal to him, his recent encounters have gone a long way in changing that aspect of his thought. As Jack mentioned the swords, Nakashima's mouth got a small tic of irritation. Did his opponent think him so weak that he could be bested by a broken sword. If Nakashima were being honest, he had no intentions of crossing blades with the man in front of him up until this moment. His real interest was in something he had read recently, a manner of combat used by swordsman against weaker foes in which you deflect attacks with the palm of your hand. It had interested him, and he felt that now was the perfect chance to experience it first hand. However, the sight of the broken sword changed his mind completely. Jack was either arrogant or ignorant, and both equally pissed the swordsman off. Nakashima saw the broken sword as a personal insult to both his skill and experience. He knew he moved at about the same speed with his new swords as he was used to, thanks to a little bit of practice on his journey from the blues. He also knew that when using one or the other he was faster or slower dependent upon the blade. His rapier, faster. His saber, slower. He awaited the attack patiently, watching Jack intently. As his opponent charged, Nakashima responded. Jack was faster than Nakashima had accounted for, which came as a surprise. His bigger build led the man to believe he might be slower, which seemed to be false. Whipping out his rapier, he decided to stick to Ittoryu for now, since it was what he had most recently trained in. It had been years since he worked on Nitoryu and he didn't want to draw his second sword unless he felt it entirely necessary. As Jack charged, Nakashima prepped for a straight on attack, though he was rather surprised when his opponent leapt into the air. Timing it as close as he could, he took a short leap backwards, and catapulted back forwards towards Jack as his swords were still in the motion of his own attack. Making two quick stabbing attack towards Jack's heart, he felt that anything other than an attack meant to kill would be an insult as a swordsman. When two men battled, they put their pride and lives on the line. It was an unspoken commitment not only between men, but especially between swordsman. Dashing backwards to create some distance after his attack, he smiled. He felt the cut in his shoulder, and realized he still had a lot to learn. It wasn't deep, and it wasn't even painful as the adrenaline coursed through his veins, but it was a clear sign that his timing could certainly use some practice. His dodge had been mis-timed, leading to his new wound. He stood straight, and rested his free hand on his saber, and prepared to counter the next attack. |

Calm chuckled getting a large devilish smile as jack said he had a broken sword thinking in his head "hahahaha he really is insane to use a broken sword against an opponent the question now is whether the other one can keep a cool head or not" to anyone else this would have looked like he was going insane or was on laughing gas but calm didn't notice it until a moment later until he finally said "I really need to stop drinking Ketsuraku Rice Wine who knows what it's doing to my mind." Calm kept looking onto the small match sighing as he noticed nakashima instantly getting mad that his enemy was using a broken sword and he could easily predict that nakashima was either thinking jack was arrogant or ignorant most likely thinking the sword was an insult which would be a good plan but it looked to calm like jack didn’t plan to break his sword anytime soon especially since he was a swordsman and didn’t seem to have a spare sword. He looked at jack as he crossed both his blades slashing down at nakashima most likely to test his habits and skill, Although all this was happening calm realized that jack knew that his sides were open to attack. He yawned as he saw nakashima get slashed an obvious mistake on nakashimas part for thinking he was gonna be slower based on his size and build and calm knew he wouldn’t have made this mistake especially considering his past enemies on hazard mountain. He had seen many beasts that were much quicker than what he thought they were on the mountain but he eventually adapted to it through both surprise attacks and attacking vitals. "This is more one-sided than i thought it was gonna be." Calm jumped down from the tree soon after getting rather bored of the fight and decided to walk around and explore which eventually led him to an area that he heard of before from locals known as the colorless catacombs and calm yawned walking in wondering how bugs would taste since they were giant now. Walking further into the cave calm saw a bunch of moths getting rather annoyed when they surrounded him making a high pitched sound till he was eventually yelling. "10 TON HAMMER" Pulling out a giant hammer that looked real out of god knows where he smashed it down on all the moths as it popped making a loud sound and scaring all the moths away until calm walked even further into the cave wondering if he would find treasure or some weird thing in the cave at least something that would be useful and not a even bigger bug that was the king of bugs or something as he laughed about it. "Yeah that would never happen that only happens in books." He walked further into the cave only for the light to slowly disappear until he said in the cave with it echoing "well shit." The lines of anger etched on Nakashima's face were obvious, but Jack did not spare them any mind. There was nothing he could do about the sword being broken, but acknowledging his opponent's anger about that fact would be even more condescending, so he only attacked in silence. He did not miss the fact that Nakashima only used one sword at the beginning, even though he had two. It was probably his way of returning the blow, but Jack did not want to be dragged into a reaction game, so he ignored that too. He wanted to see what this guy was capable of before showing off his own skills. His attack was rather obvious, and so Nakashima was able to avoid it for the most part, and the result was only a small cut on his shoulder. The counter that he came up with though took Jack off guard. He somehow had managed never to fight any rapier users before in his life, and did not expect that kind of counter. He had fought a Kukri knife user, and a saber user in that tournament Nakashima mentioned earlier, but no rapier users. What Nakashima did was the kind of thing that would be completely impractical using any kind of other sword, and so Jack did not expect it in the least. He figured his best chance at dodging would be to go sideways, and so he did, but the suddenness of it all made it so the side of his chest, under his arm, was cut slightly. Jack brought Kaiyo up above Nakashima's extended arm in a diagonal position, readying himself to use one of his deadliest attacks on instinct, since the opportunity for it arose so suddenly, but n the moment of hesitation provoked by his sword being shorter than normal, Nakashima, as if reading Jack's mind, or out of simple cautiousness, jumped back before he was caught in the trap. "You have good instinct." he complimented his opponent as he circled slowly around him. He was more than fast enough to keep up with the swordsman in front of him, but it was difficult to read his movement pattern, and it seemed Nakashima was insisting on letting Jack attack first. Jack was used to relying on the length of his O Katana for opening attacks. It provided the perfect reach for him to attack with confidence without being too exposed to risk, but now he had to make himself more comfortable with extreme close quarters. He sheathed both his swords then, and removed Kaiyo entirely from his belt, setting it gently on the ground, then he switched Yugure's sheath to the other side. This gesture would probably seem meaningless to anyone observing, that or they would think he was trying to provoke Nakashima further, but in his mind, the only way he would be able to stop thinking of how he used to use Kaiyo is if he forgets about it for the moment. Focus was more valuable now than ever. "Try to fend this off." he said as he jumped forward once more, this time determined to land a hit, unsheathing Yugure and slashing at Nakashima at the same time. Tech he almost used but failed

Nakashima watched his opponent's actions wearily. He had expected Jack to be better than him, though the man's reactions were easily on par with the Lieutenant he had faced, an altercation he had only survived thanks to the help of others. Based on the man's reaction from his attack, he was confident in both his own offensive and defensive skills, but had little experience against that of a rapier. Nakashima would have to think on the fly if he wanted to win, taking the one small advantage he had, and pressing it would not be in his best interest. He slowly began to mimic Jack's circling, making sure that his opponent never entered a blind spot. He was unsure of where to continue from here, not knowing anything about Jack or his fighting style, he was hesitant to go on the offensive, yet staying on the defensive could very well cause him serious injury. Long over his adolescent display of anger, he drew his saber. There was no point in limiting himself in this situation, and until he devised a strategy, the heavier blade would protect him much better. Nakashima nodded his acknowledgment to Jack's compliment, though through his eyes it seemed more a gesture of goodwill than anything. Nakashima was clearly the weaker one here, though he would never admit that out loud. Sighing loudly, he took a rather strange stance, his saber out front, and his rapier pointed behind him as if ready to strike the ground. He was just about ready to launch his first wave of attack when Jack spoke again, and then attacked himself. Pure instinct taking over, he crossed his swords to protect himself from the blinding speed. His swords barely made it in front of him, and even though they were there, Nakashima wasn't braced to defend, his body weight was out of sync with what he was trying to do. The strength of Jack's attack easily pushed back Nakashima's defense and cut into his opposite shoulder rather deeply. Biting back the pain, Nakashima made his own move in an attempt to dish out some damage. Bringing his saber up, he pushed downward on Jack's blade, locking the two hilts together to make it ridiculously inconvenient for him to pull it out of the wound. Using his other sword, Nakashima didn't even bother aiming for any vitals, he simply made multiple stabbing motions towards the center of Jack's body, hoping he left the man little option. "I see you're just as skilled as I've been told." |

As soon as they had arrived on the island, Raine was fully aware that this place would be one hell of a headache. It wasn’t because everything was glaringly dull, or the fact that the people here seemed obnoxiously friendly (that too though), and it wasn’t even the fact that the plant life kept getting in her shoes (and that). No, the redhead’s main issue here was the fact that she had no dull clothing or hair dye on her right now, and so alongside her rainbow haired partner, the duo stuck out like a sore thumb. Thankfully if anyone tried anything, she knew it wouldn’t even be a challenge to make more than just their thumb sore. After receiving directions from some glowing weird old guy, Raine and Mae had begun to make their way towards the main town of the island. Apparently it was situated right in the centre, which was just a pain in the backside if you asked her, why not have it at the side so that you could park your boat there and go and explore? As it was she was only on the island because she needed supplies, after they’d managed to lose almost all of those at Reverse Mountain… Such a pain. “I can’t believe we had to trade in half our stuff for some dumb pots of paint. If that old guy was lying he’s gonna have to deal with my fist in his gut” Pulling one of the pots of paint from her pack, she began bouncing it in her hand, throwing it slightly into the air as she inspected it. Nothing particularly interesting about it, but she supposed on such a dull island as this it would make sense that colour would be in high demand. It was problematic though… With bright hair like theirs, and bright clothing too… It just wasn’t practical to be who they were to be honest, but if anybody tried to question them… Yeah. “It’s not all that bad, I mean… Once we get a ship going we could always use the paint, make it all bright colours and stuff” You could probably see the stars in Mae’s eyes from a mile away as she began bouncing about a little more, a happy look in her eyes: the look of excitement. She wore a long black dress with bright red outlines, with her shoulder tattoo on show and her rainbow hair flying about in the moderate wind. Her black plimsolls weren’t exactly ideal for the fields they were strolling through, but then again neither was what Raine herself was wearing. That being a bright blue tank top, a pair of three quarter length blue jean shorts and some sandals. Upon their backs were their backpacks and instruments, seeing as they were musicians after all. “Well… Not long till we’re in town, think we’ll find anything interesting there?” Having to hike this far just to grab some food was a pain in the backside, so they may as well explore whilst they were there. But… She’d be seriously mad if there wasn’t anything to see, she hated wasting time, especially with illogical and stupid places like this. Seriously, who paints a whole island dull? Whoever it was, they needed a hobby. |

"I've been in here for days." That described calms emotions fully when you mix both complete darkness (that being calms greatest fear) and not just a dim light but not being able to see and mix that together with bad sense of directions and it makes for a bad combo and forced him to go into a cold sweat with him focusing more on smell and hearing than anything else until eventually he reached a bad smell and saw some light. (it's only been 1 hour in the cave but his sense of time went bad) Looking around as his eyes adjusted to the light he jumped to a rock and saw a bunch of human sized bugs with two in the middle of a ring that was made by rocks and that looked like it was lazily made and calm decided to watch the fight and for a minute he saw them fighting with one praying mantis cutting off a cockroaches head as it moved for a little bit after dying, calm was actually scared if they could do that to each other what could they do to humans. They all went back into what looked like pathways as he became more interested in them whispering to himself "I wonder how smart they are if they can already dig holes big enough for their own bodies." . Running into the pathway all the way on the right before he went to check the others he saw a giant opening leading to a spacious room with a fireplace in the middle as the only source of light as it shined off the bugs various features and colors with the brighter colors like green on praying mantises and even saw a few ground beetles although they were hard to see, the one thing calm could see a lot of was cockroaches it looked like they bred the fastest to survive and evolve with calm whispering to himself again "Damn things are hard to kill at normal size." . He went into the other pathways seeing similar rooms but one room was unique with human like weapons a couple looking like they were made out of horns and a couple of other weapons made out of materials wondering why they were even there if they weren't able to use them. He instantly started suspecting the Color Capture Crew since they were the only ones attacking people and would be the most likely to attack the town and steal all the clothing meanwhile calm saying "Damn that’s actually a smart plan." before planting his head on the wall and headbutting it "Why do you betray me brain why." . Getting over that note he left the cave thankful he found out some information that might very well help him in the future. Leaving on that note he headed towards the two as he called them “generic samurai” that were sparring he noticed two new people who looked like they just got on the island he walked over to them smiling slightly while holding out his hand saying "Hello i assume you're new to the island as well?" tilting his head slightly while asking that question. |

Jack was pleasantly surprised to see his opponent continue to fight through the pain. He grinned at first, but soon realized the trap he was about to get caught in... "I'm glad you think so!" he replied to the compliment absentmindedly, while keeping an eye on the rapier's movements. The first stab caught him only half off guard, so he was able to move away from it a little bit, though not completely, as the rapier pierced his insides at the extremity of his stomach. He was no doctor, but he was optimistic that his guts or liver weren't hit. The blood spilling from him was too much to allow another cut, but his only good sword was caught and retreating did not sit right with him at all. He was too excited now. It was one of those moments of clarity when thinking stopped and fighting instinct took over. "Mutoryu! ..." Jack let go of his own sword suddenly, and Nakashima's saber was brought down but its own momentum until it was as horizontally pointed as his rapier, and at that moment Jack proceeded to slam both of his opponent's swords with the palms of his hands to bring them together. "Alligator Jaw!" The saber's edge was already pointing vertically, but the rapier seemed to be tilted enough to draw some blood from Jack's palm (figured I can't assume it's in the most favorable position for Jack), but that did not stop him. He drove both swords with all his strength into a lock, or rather, as much of a lock as his own strength would allow. It was time to test Nakashima's power. All the while, Jack's own sword, Yugure, was falling towards the ground, and Jack was not one to let his sword hit the ground in the middle of combat, not after that humiliation he suffered at the hands of Erubiel, so he used the fact that the hilt had been forced down by Nakaahima when he blocked him before, and kicked it upward towards Nakashima, blade up. He didn't care where it stabbed him really, as long as it does stab him somewhere. Technique Used

It took the couple another few minutes to finally reach the town, and by then both of them were practically exhausted. A thick layer of sweat had built up on Raine’s forehead, giving it enough shine for a magpie to have a field day, whilst Mae was merely breathing heavily. The rainbow haired girl had a certain ability to just… Not sweat, which probably wasn’t good for her internal functions, but she didn’t seem too bothered by that. As they got into the town, a loud clashing of metal could be heard, which despite everything managed to peak the redhead’s interest. Turning the corner, the two were very soon greeted by a fellow. He stood a little taller than Raine herself, and had skin almost as pale as his long mop like hair. Usually when most people approached her, she would merely walk away or shout at them, but something about this man kept her at least a little calm. Maybe it was the height, but she didn’t know. Instead she actually listened to what he had to say, noting that he was new too. She supposed their bright colours gave them away, but then… If he was new why wasn’t he all colourful like they were? “Just got here a little while ago, planning on grabbing some suppli-“ The clashing sound could be heard again, and that’s when she peered past the man in front of her, revealing two swordsmen just… Fighting, in the middle of the streets. A small grin grew on her face as she toyed with the idea of just punching this white haired guy in the mouth, just to test if her sudden theory was correct. Of course, being in the Grandline she needed to be a little careful, and he hadn’t exactly done anything against her, not that it would prevent her normally. She’d been thinking that perhaps this town allowed fighting or even actively encouraged it, which theoretically would make sense seeing as those two were also in rather drab clothing and could be locals. “I’m Raine, she’s Mae” She pointed with her thumb to her side, where Mae stuck closely, assessing the situation before saying much. “What’s going on here? We allowed to fight who we want here or something?” Note

Calm looked at both the women who came onto the island first noticing the red haired one who had a rather happy expression. She was wearing a low cut blue tanktop along with a slightly darker shade of blue for her shorts and brown sandals as calm turned to the other one rubbing his eyes for a second from seeing so many colors saying in his mind "Damn thats a lot of bright colors." which very easily described her hair which was well… to say the least a fucking rainbow and it sure as hell messed with calms eyes to look at. He heard the women saying something about how she just got to the island and was looking for supplies but that was quickly blocked out by the noise of swords clashing as calm started getting annoyed at the sound to the point where he was about to jump in there and jab them both in the face with his staff until they shut up. He turned back to see a small grin on the red heads face which usually meant nothing good. Calm continued talking to them after finally noticing her grin disappearing just in time to introduce themselves to him and calm responded back with "I’m Calm" before he heard the redhead identified as raine asking about the two swordsmen fighting in the street "Nope sadly they just wanted to spar before they went to catch some thieves known as the Color Capture Crew which steal anything colorful then spray paint you as much with white spray paint as possible before running off. Also don't go in any cave you see unless you wanna fight giant human sized bugs and praying mantises that can cut off your own head with one swipe." the last part sounded rather creepy calms smile not helping in making it less scary. Yawning calm looked at the fight as he said "oh yeah idiot swordsman on the left is jack and the idiot swordsman to the right is nakashima although it looks like jack is about to win unless nakashima feels like taking this spar to more than a spar." |

Nakashima watched his rapier pierce Jacks stomach, and felt pride. At the very least, he could say he dealt out a fair amount of damage in return. However, as he went for another attack, it seemed that Jack caught his swords between his own hands. Frowning at the straightforwardness of such a move, Nakashima pulled on them slightly. Jack's grip however was far too strong, and they wouldn't budge in the slightest. Jus tthen, Nakashima was ready to try something completely out of the blue, though was interrupted by Jack's follow-up attack. Having kicked the sword directly at Nakashima's chest, it was all the swordsman could do to leap back, letting go of his own swords. the Wakazashi pierced the opposite shoulder, all but rendering that arm useless as he felt the arm go limp. His leaping back however, and Jack combination in tandem with it, put him in a better position the he could hope for. Pulling the blade from his shoulder with his free hand, it seemed they had changed weaponry. Steadying himself a moment, the years of training with his own Katana came naturally to him. His instincts had purely taken over, and this had changed from a spar to a fight to the death. Steadying himself with his new weapon, his eyes locked on to the target. His blade, almost an extension of himself, lashed out for Jack's neck. The blade would be next to impossible to stop, considering Jack's hands were full with different blades. Smiling in victory, Nakashima quickly realized something was amiss as the Wakazashi simply passed between them, a good 3-4 inchesaway from Jack's neck. Realization sprang into Nakashima's eyes as he remembered how much longer his own Katana had been. Shaking his head, he flipped around the blade in his hand, catching the blade, and offering the hilt to Jack. "I'm prideful, but not so much that I won't admit when I'm beaten." Nakashima spoke, his voice lacking any spite or venom. The fight had been truly eye-opening to how far behind Nakashima was compared to the world. It was then that two newcomers joined, Nakashima didn't bother looking in their direction, though he heard their question. "No, nothing like that. Simply a spar, we swordsmen love to test our mettle against each other." Nakashima looked over to see two young women, both fairly attractive. His first thought when seeing them, was that they could both become millionaires here with just their hair. Chuckling to himself at that, he went to retrieve his own swords and speak to Jack. “You don’t appear to be…” It took Raine another moment to realise that Calm was in fact his name, and not his state of being. She supposed it should have been apparent with that worried look on his face when looking at the swordsmen, although perhaps she was just taunting him a little bit was all, without saying it. She continued to listen though, apparently not too aggravated by her own goof, although it may have been down to the man again, his personality suiting his name. Needless to say it probably wouldn’t be long before that changed though. “Thieves hey? And bugs? This island is actually more interesting than I thought” The redhead began grinning a little bit, with Mae slowly catching on to what she was thinking. Instead of scalding her partner like most would have, the harpist simply bowed her head in acceptance of what was to come, and then began smiling again as if she wasn’t in any danger to begin with. “Beating up some crooks could be fun, one two and all that! I’m sure Amelia would have liked that” Oh yeah, she’d completely forgotten about that muscular chick back on Ketsuraku. It hadn’t even been that long since she’d seen her was the thing, but… It wasn’t like she was the easiest to remember, with only her build to be something of note. Shrugging that off, she realised that one of the men who had just been introduced as Nakashima was talking to her, pointing out it was merely a duel and nothing more. A real shame, she would have liked to have tested how far this Calm fellow could fly from a single hit, although she wasn’t quite that strong yet. “Well, in case you hadn’t noticed, colour is a big part of our lives. Mind if we tag along? I’ve got a tightness in my shoulders that only bloody punching can solve” She clicked her knuckles, but quickly stopped as she realised she was going a little far. She didn’t need to get angry or anything, although a little violence could be a bit of fun to be honest. Supplies could wait, she wanted to punch some crooks, and then maybe after she’d see to those insects. How big could they actually be? Nothing a big shoe wouldn’t solve after all, or a strong punch. |

The wakizashi actually stabbed Nakashima despite the randomness of the attack itself. For a moment there, Jack almost removed his hands before Nakashima, when he saw the swords flash upwards. He found himself grinning when the dust settled, though now he was vulnerable to attack. He made to flip the two swords in the air in order to catch them again by the hilts, but Nakashima's attack came sooner than he anticipated so he just stepped back. Somehow, the other swordsman stopped his sword a few inches away from Jack's throat, completely missing his mark. Jack narrowed his eyes in confusion for a bit before realizing that the reason was that Nakashima was not used to shorter swords. He chuckled, remembering that it had happened to him too in the beginning of the duel. He heard a woman's voice behind him then, commenting on their fight, and it was followed by Calm calling him an idiot. "It was a good fight." he responded to Nakashima, as he accepted his own sword and reciprocated the gesture, giving the other swordsman his weapons back: "But I think we will be needing some patching up before we can catch those color thief pirates you were talking about. Oh Yeah, I didn't mention it before, but I've decided to help you with that. It's the least I can do after you've allowed me to fight such a good duel." Jack turned to get a look at the newcomers then. He could have sworn that Calm had disappeared halfway through the duel, but there he was now. He had two women with him. Damn... I am an idiot indeed. He found himself two gorgeous gals to hang out with and here I was getting stabbed like a dumb-ass. Jack approached the one who had commented on their fight before, or at least, the one he assumed it was based on her voice and general attitude. "I would be glad to spar with you too sometime. Just now though, I should be finding myself a doctor to patch up this hole." Walking itself was painful now that the adrenaline subsided, much less fighting more. "What do you say Nakashima, your shoulder sin't looking good either. We can try to ask about the pirates we're looking for. Doctors usually know a great deal about people who get injured a lot, such as pirates. I'm assuming from what I heard that these two beauties want to help out too, so we can split up into two groups, we'll go gather information while finding a doctor and they can investigate somewhere else." Nakashima retrieved his weapons from Jack, nodding thankfully and re-sheathing the swords. Chuckling Nakashima agreed with Jack's comment wholeheartedly. Despite it having been a simple spar, more for them to warm up then anything, bot fighters had gotten into it pretty hard. Stretching his shoulder a bit, he could only imagine what his old doctor would say if he saw him like this. Nakashima then noticed that the boy who had been with them before the fight was here once again. Shrugging it off, he didn't particularly care about him, while the new girls were once again a valuable asset to his plan of revenge on this crew, and this entire island. Their colors being a fabulous addition as bait. Walking over and introducing himself, they didn't have much time to talk before Jack suggested they split. Agreeing, Nakashima simply nodded at the other swordsmen. He looked over his body, and felt that he had gotten out of that rather well-off, considering his opponent. He had been here longer than Jack, albeit slightly, though he had explored much more of the island, and while it was difficult to find his way around, he was somewhat confident that he could get them to the doctor. Motioning for Jack to follow him, Nakashima began making his way back into town. |

Jack gathered his other sword from where he had put it, and walked in the same direction as Nakashima. "We'll meet you guys back here after we finish." The pain had now fully engulfed his guts, and it would be a bit apparent that he wasn't too comfortable walking, but he soldiered through it. If he let something like this hold him back, he would have no chance in this sea. And besides, Nakashima was handling himself rather well, so it would be shameful for both of the if he showed weakness after having beaten him. All the while however, he was wondering if this guy knew his way around town all that well. From what he had understood from the color thief pirates story, the rapier user wasn't from here either, and had also very probably arrived that same day. While walking, Jack had his eyes peeled for any sign of a doctor's office. From his experience, such places usually advertised with signs and similar contraptions to attract patients, and were usually in the town's center. He figured this was as good a time as any to see if Nakashima was interested in joining him. "Hey Nakashima, by the way, I'm putting together a pirate crew. Until I arrived into the grand line, I was intent on roaming the sea alone, and fighting anyone worthy until I realize my goal, but I got myself into a situation the other day where some back up would have come a long way. It's where my sword broke. I figure if we put our strength together, we can survive better in this sea. And as a bonus, we'd pretty much both have someone to spar with whenever we're bored." They were now near the town center. Turning around a sharp corner, Jack glimpsed a big building which looked like it comprised of many apartments. "Come on, I think I see a few signs on that wall. One of them might be for a doctor." It was as Jack predicted. He read the sign aloud: "Dr. Housenpark. General Surgeon... This guy should be more than qualified, I think." Though to be perfectly honest, Jack had started feeling better already since he had the presence of mind to put his hand on the wound in his stomach and keep the blood from flowing.
