Profession: Primary profession: Carpenter A Carpenter is someone who makes a living crafting things such as ships, submarines, buildings and other physical structures with expertise and materials not privy to non-carpenters. Carpenters are the only ones capable of creating ships with techniques. A carpenter is proficient in the use of the tools of their trade as weapons, and have no maximum rank limit for martial techniques involving these tools.
Furthermore, carpenters are able to use techniques that enable the rapid construction of basic, temporary structures such as walls, bridges and ladders. Carpenters have access to certain additional traits.
Secondary profession: Smith A Smith is a man or woman who makes weapons and tools out of metal. Generally swords, since they fetch the best price, but it is in no way limited to this. Making cannons and parts for inventors is also part of their business, and they also get good knowledge within metallurgy.
Inventor An Inventor is a man or woman with knowledge in how various mechanical devices work. They have good insight in how blueprints work, and can upgrade weapons, build gadgets and battle engines if they have enough materials.
Weapon Specialist A much more general fighter-type profession, a Weapon Specialist is someone who has to a large or small degree devoted his/her life to the mastery of a single weapon or weapon type, such as Swords, Axes or Whips. This profession applies generally to melee weapons.
Position: Maintenance man/ janitor
Physical Appearance Height: 205cm Weight: 100kg Hair: Black Eyes: Dark brown Clothing/Accessories: Wears a loupe on his left eye, and a pair of thick safety goggles over that.
When on-duty, Uncarayne wears his uniform as per regulations, although there always seems to be sawdust or metal shavings on him somewhere. Off-duty, he tends to wear a large bandoleer (with his family name on it in large noticeable letters) in which he keeps the tools of his trades, a work apron, thick pants, and good safety shoes; he goes shirtless when off-duty, but sometimes throws on a padded poncho if it's cold or raining. His hair is short and kept stubbly to keep it out of his way.
General Appearance:
Uncarayne tends to stoop a little due to his comparative height, and usually keeps his hands in his pockets unless they're needed elsewhere. He maintains a constant half-grin on his face, and always wears his Marine cap whether or not it's needed--it keeps the sun and the rain out of his eyes. He lopes and nearly never ever stands up straight when there's something nearby to lean on or against.
The Character Personality: Uncarayne is full of bobance and bounce; he's got a smile that invites everybody to come sit down with him and have a nice glass of froth and a chitchat. He loves kicking back on a boat and watching the waves roll past or the stars drift by, he loves jumping off a ship onto a new dock and meeting all the locals and hearing all the stories to be heard, he loves whittling bits of wood into tops and toys, and he loves his job and whistles tunelessly all day while cutting and carving and brushing and buffing up things around the ship. His favourite position on the ship is on the mast, from where he can see everything!
Uncarayne maintains a constant aura of careless cheer, only occasionally broken by surprise or danger. He maintains this is because it's a natural reaction for a small-island boy towards the sights and wonders of the world, but it's also because he's found that breaking down and crying aren't very useful reactions when you're about to get eaten by an angry monstrous rat.
Uncarayne has a great deal of pride in his handicrafts, though, and anybody who insults his work without cause tends to end up having to show cause.
Hometown: Shells Town, East Blue
History Early history The O'Briens are a family of carpenters and smiths and have lived on Shell Town for a long time, possibly even before the time of Gol D Roger; and they have always been carpenters and smiths there.
Uncarayne was born 28 years ago, the youngest of three, and was promptly brought up to be a carpenter just like Dad and Mom and Big Brother and Big Sister; they lived nearby their grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins, all of whom were similarly brought up in the woodwork and metalwork trades (even if some of them did eventually grow up and go off to be other things). It was a very communal life: everybody learned together and grew up together, practicing again and again so that they would be better than others. Uncarayne never competed, preferring to whittle his bits of wood into birds or dolls, or carve people's faces into them, rather than spend all night chipping away and getting wood dust all over him and then have to go and shower again.
It was during his apprenticeship to an uncle of his who had no children that Uncarayne got discipline hammered into him--to bear the O'Brien name with pride as a carpenter or a smith, his uncle was adamant that Uncarayne would no longer be caught taking naps when other people were training or practicing, would no longer be allowed to sleep before he had completed the required quota of work for the day (there was a lot of on-the-job training involved), and most certainly would not be allowed to put a wooden dummy in his bed and sneak off to spend the night in parts unknown staring at the stars all night.
This was also how Uncarayne got his first encounter with the Marines, who often bought swords or other things from the O'Briens, and this was how Uncarayne developed his easy smile and guileless manner, because the Marines were as mixed a bunch as any: some were good and lawful and polite customers, and others threatened to burn the workshop down if they weren't given their things for free. It was all part of the job to know one from the other and to find a way to steer the others off to the more imposingly large cousins and uncles.
At length O'Brien's apprenticeship ended, when he was finally worthy of calling himself a O'Brien. He promptly announced that he was off to join the Marines and sail the world.
His family, who had seen it coming a mile away and had had plenty of time to shrug and/or console themselves (and he was not the first in the family to run off to sail the high seas anyway), said sure and sent him off, clutching nothing but a family bandoleer with a set of tools, a change of clothes, and a locked puzzle box from his uncle that would, the uncle said, only be openable by him when he was as skilled with wood and metal as the uncle was. Between Shell Town and Karate Island Uncarayne spent a fair bit of time in between assignments fiddling with the puzzle box from his uncle, though he never seemed to manage to find the mechanism to get it open. Slightly frustrated, Uncarayne began attacking the box more heavily with chisel and hammer and nails, attempting to understand the box more fully. It wasn't until after he'd passed through Karate Island that he realised the hidden joint in the box, and soon after settling into his new quarters he tested out his new theory. The box opened, revealing a small slice of fruit - charred around all the edges - and a congratulatory note from his uncle. The note added that the slice of fruit was all that was left of a DF that had got caught in a fire a few years earlier and had been salvaged, which was why the edges were all burnt; but the uncle didn't want it for himself and so had decided to give it to Uncarayne.
Naturally, Uncarayne ate it at once. Uncarayne drifted around the Blues for some time, alone or with small ad-hoc crews, until he encountered a fellow Marine, Eve Senba, during the Siege of Goa by Captain Whisper; some time after that the two of them rode on a ship with the Jacks of all Trades across Reverse Mountain into the Grand Line, where Uncarayne signed on with the crew. Shortly after Uncarayne signed on, Jack died - purely coincidence! - and Uncarayne went with the crew to Sicilie in search of his killer. While there, they fought and defeated the Mafia, avenging Jack's memory. A short time later, Uncarayne was summoned to Las Arcadas by the Cipher Pol. There, he and Eve Senba were instructed to bring about the arrest of Arcadas, an ex-shichibukai. While there they met William, Raine, and Suhov - who was aiding Arcadas in her escape. The ensuing battles nearly destroyed the entire artificial island, but they won their victory.
Abilities and Possessions Combat: Uncarayne prefers not to fight, and tends to do it defensively - he mightn't land the first strike, but he definitely aims to finish it. He's been in his share of bar brawls or "disagreements" with bad customers, and it's always about knocking people out before they can take the whole place to pieces. That said, though, he figures the least fuss is when no fighting is done at all, and through the whole thing is always perfectly happy to stop fighting and go off with his opponent to a bar for a drink.
Weaponry:
- Four composite steel hammers (ball-peen, knife-edge, dead blow, and claw). The handles of the hammers terminate in screw-like joints, enabling them to be attached to any screw threads of the correct size. There are ring-like attachments on the handles.
- One thick leather glove with ridged ferrocerium alloy pads on the finger tips and ridged steel pads running all down the inside of the thumb from fingertip to knuckle, as well as one Breath Dial in the palm of the glove that contains flammable gases. When the flammable gases are released and the ferrocerium pads are rubbed against the steel pads, they can act as flints and ignite the gas!
Items:
- One nice leather bandoleer with O'Brien stamped on it. It has pouches to keep his hammers, and other various carpentry/ smithy items (iron nails and thumbtacks, graphite pencils and pens, and sandpaper (total weight about 10kg)) in, as well as small, bright orange, rubber bladders along its edge. When fully immersed in any liquid, the rubber bladders immediately inflate with air, providing enough buoyancy to keep Uncarayne afloat. Unfortunately, the size of the inflated bladders also severely restricts motion, and they must be completely dried before they can be deflated again.
- Unusual Stick - Upon first looking at this, it seems just like a plain, stick that's a foot long and has no leaves or branches comming off of it. However, everytime that the character looks at it it's shorter than the last time, this process continuing until the stick is so small that it's not even visible. By their next storyline, however, the wooden stick appears again at it's original length, just to start growing smaller again upon each look. The character may try to get rid of the stick all he wants, but he'll always (unwillingly) find it again, even in the most random places.
- The Power of Friendship!!! - The character finds in their possession a picture of their crew or all the people important to them in general together. Once per sl, when looking at this picture the character no matter how badly beaten gets a shonen boost that allows them to continue to fight at full strength for 3 posts before all the effects kick back in again from the beatings.
- Parallel Uni-View Master - A red pair of toyish stereoscopic glasses with corresponding reels that can be inserted through the side. The object earns its name because of what the stereoscope reveals; the wearer perceives his events, surroundings, and fellow people as if they existed in another existing canonical universe (for example, when viewed through the Bleach reel, a swordsman might be viewed as wearing a dark kimono, and their sword might appear to resonate an aura of power.* A Slam Dunk reel might cause characters to be perceived as though wearing basketball jerseys, glistening with sweat. A Kill la Kill reel might... uh... UH.)
*Of course, this is limited solely to perception.
- Little Red Sticker - says "Good job!" Go stick it on your fridge, or something.
- Rhythm's Headphones - Salvaged from the ruins of Las Arcadas. Bright bubbly pink in colour and decorated with white skulls, these headphones block out any and all sound while being worn, with the exception of any techniques, items or abilities that may rely on sound. However, the funky music that they play is so lively that the one listening to it finds themselves much more energetic, gaining +5 speed.
- 7th Anniversary Raincoat - A marvelously well-made, water-tight raincoat (available in yellow, pink, or black) with a trio of Blue 7's across the back. It is not only incredibly stylish and incredibly lucky, but also can be used for a variety of purely aesthetic pseudo-utility purposes.
- One 6-foot (183cm) solid titanium pole. Each end has a hollow section with screw threads and ring-like attachments.
- Four 5-foot long, 0.5in diameter composite steel chains with carabiners at each end.
- A Laconium ring and sheath, both attuned to Uncarayne's own bio-electric frequency. The ring is sized for Uncarayne's fingers, while the sheath is sized to securely wrap around his hammers' handles.
The attunement is such that when a certain amount of pressure is applied to the ring, an electromagnetic field pulls the sheath back to Uncarayne with a force equal to his own Strength from up to Medium range.
- Net Bomb: A brittle canister that contains a net of Wapometal threads. On impact, the net unfurls to wrap around whatever it hit. Because the Wapometal "remembers" its constriction, the net constricts around the victim on its own! The four corners of the net are weighted down with heavy Laconium hooks, which will return to Uncarayne when he applies pressure to his ring with a force equal to his Strength rating.
- Small Rubber Head: Uncarayne was the last person present at the party. In fact he was there obnoxiously late, still there while the elf workers were trying to clean the place. As a result, he was given what could only be described as a consolation prize and pushed out of the door- a small rubber head with the likeness of TenGoulupukki.
However, despite it's useless appearance, use of it in tandem with him devil fruit will reveal an interesting ability. If he takes it with him when he flattens himself on a surface, it will be left behind where he unflattens himself, appearing as a portrait of the goony deity. This image is roughly six inches by six inches, and is extremely sticky, resulting in whatever touches it being stuck in place for a short amount of time. After one post, the stickiness wears off, and the person or thing stuck to it will harmlessly detach.
Naturally, this can only be used once per SL, and the rubber head will reappear on Uncarayne's person between threads.
- Of Mice and Crumbs: Uncarayne gift from his Santamas Hero comes in a tightly wrapped satchel. The satchel contains crumbs which once per thread can be sprinkled on person, object or location. Once settled, a horde of mice will suddenly swarm the crumbs for two posts regardless of the situation and then swiftly depart after. These mice are a vicious sort and will attack anything that tries to deny them their sprinkled crumbs, besides Uncarayne.
This gift cannot be scooped onto a new character.

- "Ham Cat Bobble": You can only use Reversal for Defensive Techniques.
- "Super Suit Mode Wall": Just for clarity sake, probably want to declare it's resistant to Rank 27 damage.
- "Super Suit Mode Pinbal": Costs add up to 30, so it needs to be at least R30
- "Handy Grab": If you're adding Disable, I think you can make the Tech feel a little more extreme through some sort of "crippling" instead of just grabbing. Same with branch.
- "Room Warmer": Medium Range techs require a Min Rank 28
- "Mock Ball / Taunt Ball": Quick question, I'm assuming this sound affects one singular target? Otherwise, this would be an AoE move.

Thanks for your input!
Ham Cat Bobble has been edited - it's now Disabling rather than Reversal.
Super Suit Mode Wall has been edited to clarify its level of resistance.
Super Suit Mode Pinball has been edited (and total TP used as well).
Handy Grab and Handy Grab Bashy have had their descriptions updated to include: "...making [the hand, leg, or weapon that has been grabbed] unusable until you get free or destroy the hand or box".
Room Warmer has been edited to Short Range.
Yes, Mock Ball and Taunt Ball affect only the target to whom the balls are stuck at the moment they begin emitting the shrieking, piercing noise.

Room Warmer Range needs to be Short (still says 'Medium')
Otherwise, sick character.

Profession: Primary profession:Carpenter A Carpenter is someone who makes a living crafting things such as ships, submarines, buildings and other physical structures with expertise and materials not privy to non-carpenters.
Carpenters have access to certain additional traits.Secondary profession:Smith A Smith is a man or woman who makes weapons and tools out of metal. Position: Maintenance man/ janitor Physical Appearance Height: 205cm Weight: 100kg Hair: Black Eyes: Dark brown Clothing/Accessories: Wears a loupe on his left eye, and a pair of thick safety goggles over that. General Appearance: Uncarayne tends to stoop a little due to his comparative height, and usually keeps his hands in his pockets unless they're needed elsewhere. Hometown: Shells Town, East Blue History Early history The O'Briens are a family of carpenters and smiths and have lived on Shell Town for a long time, possibly even before the time of Gol D Roger; and they have always been carpenters and smiths there.
- One pair of thick leather gloves with ridged ferrocerium alloy pads on the finger tips and ridged steel pads running all down the inside of the thumb from fingertip to knuckle, as well as one Breath Dial in the palm of each glove that contains flammable gases.

Devil Fruit Name: Taka Taka no MiDevil Fruit Type: Paramecia Devil Fruit Ability: The eater becomes a "Tile Person", able to perfectly flatten themselves and worn/held objects, and adhere to any dry nearby non-self surface that is not Seastone within arm's length. While adhered, they can move over the surface and onto adjoining surfaces, ignoring gravity. They can still interact with whatever they flattened along with themselves and if they let go/ take those things off, then those things become un-flattened and pop out from the surface (similarly the Tile Person pops out of the surface when they un-flatten themselves). They can't move over holes in the surface, and they (+ worn/held anything) retain their weight. Taka Taka no Mi (24+4) - Free DF Technique Type: Support Power: 0 Range: Melee Stats: N/A AE Cost: 0
| Description: Uncarayne's body can flatten itself and any carried objects (to between 0.5cm - 3cm). While flattened, he can adhere to and move over nearby solid non-Seastone surfaces within arm's length, ignoring gravity. He cannot move over holes in surfaces. He pops out of the surface when un-flattened, and any flattened objects similarly pop out when let go.
At r8, he can change the outlines of his body while flattened to become more or less angular. He can also have a wider range of thickness, ranging from 0.1cm to 10cm.
At r14, he can selectively flatten parts of his body instead of the entire body. Only the things worn or grasped by flattened limbs will be flattened. He can also be non-uniformly thin throughout the flattened areas, creating simple textures. He can also selectively un-flatten parts of himself and flatten them onto a different solid surface from the one currently flattened onto, reaching over gaps &c (although the sections over the gaps still cannot be flattened).
At r28, he can flatten himself or parts of himself without having to be adhered to a solid surface. However, because he cannot bend or curve when flattened like this, he is easy to tip over if fully flattened. As before, only items worn or held in flattened portions will be flattened with him. The textures he can create by non-uniform thickness become more complex.
