Jack stumbled out of the bar, falling forwards onto the cold and wet pavement. "WHoooooOOo" he giggled aloud as he lay there in a crumpled heap on the coddlestone ground. His feathered pirate hat was disheveled and dirty, his clothes were mottled and tattered with beer stains and blood, and the man just generally smelled of poor decisions and alcohol- although they were probably one in the same at this point. The pirate, realizing that he was piss poor drunk to the point he could barely walk in a straight line let alone navigate stairs, groaned for a few moments and contemplated just falling asleep right there on the road. After all, his doctor, Brycen, was surely just a few paces behind, right? The two had decided to get away from their crew for the night and unwind in the comfort of the finest pubs that Velvet Tip had to offer which, mind you, wasn't a whole lot. Even now, in his drunken state, Jack could see poor beggars and dishevled citizens slinking through the somewhat ruined streets of the rather large settlement. The man's mind couldn't help but process the recurring theme that seemed to follow him and his merry band of pirates, what was with them and decrepit old run down towns in the middle of nowhere? This was no better than Far Guinea practically! Even when they hadn't burned it to the ground! "Hehe, hic" Jack chuckled to himself, his face turning red as he remembered the events that had brought him to where he currently was. How did it go again though? The man could recall the recent past, i.e from his first sip of rum onwards- but not much before. In his current drunken state, the pirate could only grasp at straws. It had taken them maybe 2 weeks or so to sail from Loguetown to Cactus Island- their first stop on the Grand Line. It had sort of been, well, anti-climactic in all honesty, Jack had been hoping for something bigger and more impressive for when he arrived in 'The Pirates Graveyard' as some called it, a stark contrast to the 'Paradise' he had been told of growing up by travelers. Still, he and his crew had crossed over Reverse Mountain without a hitch save Clyde nearly killing them all by forgetting to raise anchor while they were shooting downhill at like, a million miles an hour. Jack let out anoher, "Hic" as the thoughts of the turbulence immediately made him nauseous. The blond groaned and rolled onto his back in the cold puddle he was laying in, "Unghhh, Brycen... Haaaaaaaalp" the pirate groaned whimpering, "Carry me please" to his doctor who he was fairly certain was right behind him- they were both escaping a horrid bar brawl after all, hence the pirates bruised and bloodied nature at the moment. Jack scrunched his nose up though as he felt a peculiar sensation on his skin: rain. The pirate's scrunched up face relaxed into more of a cool frown as his intoxicated mind processed the fact that in a few minutes or so it was going to start pouring cats and dogs on him. "Arggh, how far be our ship? Doctor Brycen?" Jack grumbled, hoping to get back to his bed soon on the SS Cory in the House. Cactus Island may have been a fairly uneventful place to be, but it still was dangerous for two rabble rousing ruffians like Jack and Brycen to be wandering the streets at night, drunk and causing a stir. No, it would be far easier for all parties involved if the two of them just managed to gather their bearings and return to the ship for the night. The pirate, feeling his eyelids grow heavy though, tired from the fatigue of the day and the depleting effects of alcohol, tried to keep himself talking to stay awake with his crewmate, "So then matey, just, er, where did the rest of the crew run off to?" Jack asked, straining his mind to remember something which, as a captain, he certainly should have been at least keeping tabs on. Issues like these were only passing things on the pirates mind though as he decided to keep himself awake by doing one of the things that he truly did best: talking. The pirate looked up to Brycen as he lay there in his own little puddle, the rain pitter pattering onto his face and frontal features, "Well, we made it to the Grand Line- now what?" he asked his doctor. The thought had been plaguing him for quite some time now, Jack wasn't quite sure how to answer it. True they had all escaped from and eventually outsmarted the evil zombie lich king Tolbjorn-Harambe to save the world, but that was just on accident and done in apssing. This was a completely different world, right? Jack didn't want to have to think about something as big and ominous as that, so he simply did his best to think more about how he was going to walk back to the docks where their ship was instead of thinking about all the crazy people they were going to start meeting- the types that put their merry band to shame. "Hey so, how many crazy strong people do you think we'll have to fight? Could we just keep running away like we did with Tolbjorn?" Jack asked his doctor as he got back up to his feet, not expecting the purple haired man to actually carry him, the sensation of raindrops splattering on his face had sobered him up a tad to that fact. Strange times. Jack sighed, a bit more melancholy than usual, perhaps due to his intoxicated state. The man picked up his hat and did his best to wipe off some of the dirt and grime- once they all reached a big city he was going to need to get a new one most likely. The one which he wore now was on its last legs after being flamethrowered and practicaly cut to pieces back on Desertia.... "Hrm, going to Alabasta would be fun, heh, maybe just going to any city that isn't a dump like this one or the last would be refreshing too" the pirate said before putting his feathered hat on once more. "Enough gab though, lets be off, matey" |

“And then I said… Fuck you! Yeah… Something like that” The doctor sat at the bar, a wide grin across his face and a drink in hand. He had that sort of look on his face that you only saw when he was around one type of person, that being anyone of the female persuasion. His eyes were trained on a rather attractive woman before him, who looked like she currently wanted to jump off a bridge, into a vat of acid right now. Naturally, Brycen didn’t see this, and instead wasn’t even reading her expressions, jumping to the conclusion that she was totally into him. Needless to say, a few moments later he found himself with a rather bright, red mark across his face, in the shape of a hand. He also found himself on the ground, in a puddle of what he presumed to be alcohol. “Hey, where’re you going? I’m single!” Another successful woo’ing session. The doctor groaned to himself, sitting up and ignoring the uncomfortable amounts of liquid across his back, opting to instead see what else there was to do around the bar. As it turned out, some guys were having a nice fun game of pin the dart on the donkey. He swung his arms around two of them and smirked at them, before grabbing a dart from the table and flinging it at a familiar looking man. Surprisingly, the dart hit his target, albeit a little higher than where the tail normally went. As he saw it hit, he roared with joy, as one of the men loudly complimented his throw. However in his excitement, he managed to launch the table which held the gentlemen’s drinks forwards, smashing them all across the floor. Whoops. Brycen yelped as he was thrown out onto the streets, landing heavily on the solid ground and groaning in pain. He suspected he’d have a few scrapes and bruises from that, although it wasn’t anything as serious as he’d previously experienced. His injuries had mostly healed from Desertia and their little incident with that woman out at seas. He wondered if she’d actually got his number… Fingers crossed. “Oh… There you are! I thought… Tssk, I don’t know…” The man rambled on in his drunken state, not really sure what he was trying to say to his captain. Slowly but surely, he crawled his way over towards Jack, deciding that getting to his feet would be way too much effort, and he didn’t even know if he could anyway. To anyone that was nearby, they could most likely just hear drunken complaining, grunting, and the ripping of clothing as the man in the lab coat, slowly shredded his clothes. “As far as you want it to be captain. Aye aye! Hagh! I need to stop drinking so heavily… Tastes of dirt anyway… Hey, can we get some of that good shit on the ship? You know… The expensive stuff. We’re pirates right? Just go and take some from… From… Somewhere…” Brycen hiccupped painfully as he finally reached his superiors side, laying basically face first down next to him and giggling to himself occasionally. There wasn’t anything really to laugh about, but perhaps that was the reason he was laughing in the first place. Who knew? He certainly didn’t, although he liked to think he did. Right now, he thought he knew everything, and would happily spout any drivel that came to his mind, as if it was the smartest thing ever said by man. “It’s simple my fine hatted man! We go… Get the women. Think about it for a moment would ya? We’re in the Grandline… The place of strong people to come and hit us with sticks and stuff, so that means… The women have gotta be hella fine here. Why else would you put up with being hit with big sticks? We ain’t running no more, we’re gonna take that beating as if we like it, and maybe even give ‘em one two as well… ” The giggled to himself again, trying to imagine the perfect woman in his head. For some reason, a rather familiar face came to mind, someone he had long tried to forget, yet had failed miserably. Right now he couldn’t figure out who she was, and she wasn’t even that attractive, but something screamed positive vibes at him. The screaming continued and began to become more and more intense, until finally the doctor realised that it was just a pesky bird squawking nearby. Damn wildlife ruining his fantasies. He was still stuck on the idea of there being many impressive women in the Grandline though: “Mhmm… I can just imagine taking down some big brute, and all of a sudden have more women hanging from my arms than I can carry.” Hearing shuffling beside him, Brycen looked up, enticed by the blurry movements of Jack. By now he wasn’t particularly listening to what he had to say, and instead was more interested in watching the bright colours he was wearing, and how they moved about. He could feel something inside of him as he watched it, building up more and more and about to surface. It felt familiar, and like it was about to erupt… His eyes widened, and then he proceeded to puke across the ground in front of him, only just managing to get himself up onto his knees before he did so. “Gwah… I didn’t need you anyway…” The doctor attempted to get to his feet, swaying a little and still unable to think straight. It was weird how much more difficult it was to act when no longer in the moment of a bar. He shrugged that thought off as he began wiping away any of the mess around his mouth with the sleeve of his lab coat. He’d regret that in the morning, but for now he just needed to make it back to the ship, or to somewhere… Who cared, as long as there were women, drinks and he could find his way back in the morning. Knowing his luck though, none of these criteria would be met. Oh well, time to do something stupid. |

Luckily kiztoria was able to navigate her self from the previous island to this island with little to no problem, I guess the weather helped as it was nice a clear all the way here from Romulin Island, But what a journey though. luckily for her Rain had enough supplies to survive on this small boat of his. leaving the helm of the boat she walked down to the deck to lower the anchor so that she boat wouldn't float away and then walked into the room where Rain was. She looked at him with a stern gaze thinking to her self how could a strong man such as him end up like this "what an arrogant fool" she spoke out in a cold manner as she left him in the room and headed out to the front of the boat. A few moment later Kiztoria decided to leave the boat to look for more supplies, after all it was better to be safe then sorry. Kiztoria kept on walking till she got to a small town, before she reached far enough to be seen, she slowly made her way to the shadows. she didn't need to sneak around as this was no enemy territory, it was more the fact it was the only thing she knew how to do and made her feel safe as people couldn't be trusted. She continued to sneak around until she got to the back of a building and judging by the noise and smell it as safe to assume that this was a pub of some sort, she looked around to check if it was safe as she suddenly ran and climbed up a draining pipe and up on top of the roof to get a better view of her surroundings, she would look besides her constantly until she reached the edge of the building. She would suddenly hear the noise of shouting and somebody being thrown out of the building as she quickly got down on all fours and crouched down to see what was happening. Peeking over the edge she saw a man with farther in his hat, he seemed to have drunken too much as he was rolling on the ground whiles talking to him self, well it seemed that till another man came out in the same state, they seemed that they where together judging how they spoke to each other. She listened to what they where saying and must of it was just drunken talk which came to mind, why was she listening in to a couple of drunks anyways? was she that bored? oh well. She watched them walk off as the sudden urge to follow them raised up, it has been a while since I tested my poisons out, she thought to her self in a forbidden manner. Walking away from the edge of the building she would randomly bump into a maid, blinking a few times the maid could only say a few words of curiosity before she was shortly met with a finger blade in her throat, Kiztoria moved quickly to gag the woman's mouth as she didn't want the woman's gasping for air to get any attention. It only took seconds before the life of the maids completely drained out, actually, now that she thought of it this was actually convenient, stripping the woman of her dress and belongings she put the dress on over the clothes she already had on, she removed her face mask and replaced it with a white rag, at least now she could freely move about with out being known. Quickly escaping the scene, she would slide down the draining pipe and make her way out into the streets in a casual manner, she would then follow the drunken men as they walked off, keeping her distance and a sharp eye on them, as she did she stopped at a fruit star and picked up some fruit "Why, thank you" she said in a cheerful manner, of cause it was all fake as the feelings in her was nothing but an empty void. she would carefully look behind her as she watched where the two men was heading off to. Jack staggered forwards a few paces, Brycen trying to do the same now as they both looked ahead down the street. The pirate didn't even know if he'd manage to make it back in one piece honestly, the last time he had been this drunk he had accidentally ended up mayor of a small town in north blue- anything could happen when one was completely hammered. Perhaps the worst thing of all was just how dizzy and tired the man felt, when his partner had thrown up upon seeing his bright clothes, Jack had been almost tempted to do the same. The pirate continued to take a few tentative steps forwards as his aching bones protested against him, "I swear on my good eye matey, I'd better not get back to me ship and be kept up all night by Cream and some local she snatched like an insidious siren!" Jack garbled, his voice barely comprehensible as it simply spoke what it felt like with no real filter to speak of. Oh, and speaking of filter, "-and another thing, we need more money! I don't know what in the blasted depths that woman was thinking blowing it all on a woodcarved figurehead, but we're almost out of gold form Desertia!" Jack complained, his mind still not letting go of the memory of Cream buying that ridiculous headpiece. The pirate grumbled as he rounded a corner. He hadn't been paying that much attention to where he was going, he had Brycen to do that for him- being the responsible one after all. Yet, soon enough, as the two men walked, they would see the stone cobbled streets of Velvet Tip become more rough and ruined. They were in one of the 'bad' parts of town, where memories of pirate raids and malicious crews were still fresh. Jack could occasionally see a few people huddled around a metal trash can, using it as a firepit of sorts, while children begged similarly drunk passerbys for whatever cash they could afford. Even in his drunken haze, Jack couldn't help but feel a tad bad for the people here, sure he had left a similar situtation in Desertia after nearly burning it to the ground, but to be fair, Desertia wasn't the starting point for every ambitious crew entering the Grand Line. As the two men walked in silence, Jack offered some more solemn small talk, "You think this might be us one day? Burning down cities casually?" the pirate asked his drunken doctor in a moment of clarity, yet, it soon passed as the blond pirate felt a strange breeze brush against the back of his neck, as would Brycen. The sensation caused Jack to stop. The pirate sniffed the air, it smelled like mint- or maybe fresh pine wood almost. The man looked to his doctor with a confused puzzle before the two would feel another breath of minty wind coming from their side. Jack would then silently look past his doctor at a small boarded up shop built into the streetcorner. "Hmph" the pirate said, walking over to inspect it further. The shop looked like it had been boarded up for years maybe, it was impossible to make out whatever was inside. Jack looked up at the sign, "The Mystery Lodge" he read aloud, just to make sure that he could read properly. The words were smeared and the paint nearly faded away, yet to a keen eye the label was unmistakable. For a few moments, Jack stared at the sign, his drunken mind pondering the pleasant scent of mint he had sensed from earlier. "Whaddya think they was sellin'?" Jack asked Brycen, curious himself about what the place might have looked like in its hey day. As the man listened to Brycen respond, he would look at the faded white and black door which was strangely enough not boarded up like the rest of the shop- in fact, it was instead slightly ajar. The pirate scratched his chin and looked around the area, had someone just left this run down dump and forgotten to close the door? Apparently not, as what passerbys there were seemed to just shuffle along without really caring about the strange little cornershop. "Hmmm..." Jack 'hmmmd' to himself as he considered his options. He could just leave and pretend nothing happen, close the door and think of himself as a good samaratin, or.... Jack looked up at the moon, guesstimating the time, "You still up for one last little detour before we head back? Zehahaha" Jack said before wheezing a bit in his drunken stupor and suddenly throwing up on the cobblestone street. Good god he felt miserable- maybe he really should have just headed back to the ship? Either way, another strangely sobering and comforting minty breeze convinced the pirate to think otherwise. A wide grin crept onto the features of his face as he grabbed the wooden doorknob to the shop and pulled it open to find: Dark. Wait, no. J Jack squinted his eyes as he tried to make out the inside of this random shop he was about to break into. It seemed as though the front door led to a dark hallway with a small light at the end, "Ooooh, shiny- maybe they've got some treasure hidden away, matey!" Jack concluded to himself as he began walking down the dark hallway, following the faint light at the end of the hall. "Come Brycen, we're investigating, captain's orders!" Jack stated before continuing with, "Leave the door behind us open, just in case we need to make a hasty getaway! Zehaha!" the pirate said, expecting the doctor to follow him. This would only take a minute or two, right? They were tough pirates after all, surely if there was some booty to steal they were obligated to do so? These thoughts were stopped by a loud 'Creeeeak' as the wooden floorboards under Jack's feet protested him walking along them. The pirate shrugged and carried on, even though the further he went, the more the floorboards seemed to groan less and less. How very strange... |

The doctor, having thrown up the majority of his guts, began to follow Jack around, cradling his empty stomach as he slowly but surely sobered up. Of course, he knew that wasn’t how it worked, and it was most likely just his mind tricking him into thinking that he was getting better, although the cool air outside might have been helping a little bit. He needed some food, and some more drink at that. Although something like water would have been smart, all that was on his mind right now was alcohol, but as he turned to go back to where he’d just been, he remembered why he’d left in the first place, frowning a little bit. “Sucks to be you! Heh… Wait, that means me too… Shit” Brycen continued to slur his words, following his captain with steady steps as he realised his mistake in laughing. Of course Cream would keep them up though, it was basically part of her daily agenda, along with cooking and cleaning the ship. Wait… Scratch that last part, he was just being misogynistic, that was Jack’s job. “Oi… You’re cleaning this up right?” The doctor staggered along still, unsure why you would even clean up the puke on the street anyway. Nobody came round here, and as soon as he’d began to walk away it was no longer his problem. Even if Clyde walked out those doors, slipped on it and gave himself internal bleeding, it still wasn’t his problem. Actually, it probably would be because the next morning he’d be the one patching his head up, as their other doctor on board the ship was too busy holding a grudge against him and having “special bonding time” with everyone else on board. Poor guy. Perhaps it would be best if, being the nice guy he was, he somehow got them to be friends again. Screw it, as long as he didn't die, it wasn't his problem. After a little bit of walking, the two ended up in the lower quality section of town, like when you go into a shop and always end up in that place that you really shouldn’t be and feel really bad for it. Or when you stumble across something you shouldn’t have in a cupboard you shouldn’t have been in. Wait... What? Brycen tried to push those thoughts to one side, instead thinking up a reply to his captain. Cities were pretty big after all, and he couldn’t think of any that particularly needed a rain of burning hot justice down on to their arses to teach them a lesson, well until he thought of one place. “We should totally do that now, this place is a mess anyway, what does it ma-… Oooh that smells nice” Once again, his focus was thrown off as the lab coat wearing man smelt something interesting. In all honesty, he had no idea what it was he was smelling, but Jack seemed to have a much better sense of smell than him, so he simply followed in his lead, stumbling occasionally despite feeling a little bit more focused than before. It didn’t help that his sword was strapped to his back, and that it felt heavier than ever before. At least it was a good workout, although it was really testing him when it came to balance, and not falling flat on his face and smashing his nose into a million tiny little pieces. The two soon got to an averagely sized corner shop, with a sign hanging outside the front. Brycen squinted, but was unable to make out what it said, and so waited on Jack to read it out to him, making him feel even more like a child than he had previously when saying all the stupid childish things that came to his head. What’s wrong with being childish you ask? Nothing, but in his current situation that wasn’t the word that came to mind. In fact, nearing the shop, as the smell intensified, so did this word inside of his head. The word began to get stronger, forming into a vivid and almost tangible being, before his very eyes, by the opening of the door. He began to drool, and walk slowly forwards in a zombie like fashion, before he heard his captains voice again, snapping him out of his trance, well… Maybe. “Treasure? Oh no Jack my boy… I’m certain that there’s much more than just mere treasure inside this building.” A grin spread across his face as his mind apparently completely cleared, despite still being intoxicated to the moon and back. Whether this was for the best or not was yet to be seen, but it certainly didn’t paint the doctor in a good light as he pranced along the creaky floor, thudding heavily with each bound and laughing all the way. He too could make out some form of light at the end of the corridor, and he was certain that it could only lead to one thing. Within moments he had overtaken “his boy” and was rushing ahead, despite actually now full on skipping. “I can feel it in my bones! Inside this building, there is what we seek…” Once he was far enough ahead of Jack, he turned on his heels, managing to almost fall over backwards in the process. He clapped his hands together once he’d steadied himself though, and leant forwards, almost as if he was about to whisper the truth of the universe to his captain, only to roar out his answer as loudly as he could, awakening any of the residents if there were any, most likely anyway. “In this building, there are many beautiful LADIES!” His grin widened even more, becoming more menacing and probably very creepy. Any of the “ladies” which he spoke of would have probably been repelled by this if they had have seen it. In fact, now his expression was a little bit more like that of a psychopaths, spotting his victim on the streets and failing to hide his dark intent. Naturally he had no ill intent for these females which he spoke of, but that didn’t stop him from being weird. In fact, the only thing that did manage to calm him down a little bit more was yet another session of bringing up his lunch, dinner and midnight snack, layering the ground nearby to him with his puke. He frowned at it, before turning away like it had never happened and fixing his imaginary tie, trying to act all professional. “Ladies, your knight has arrived” |

She watched carefully as the two men stumbled about in their drunken state. it seems that they where planning to head back to the shit, well that was until the blond one stumbled on a broken down shop, calling out to his friend they both entered the shop like two curious mice looking for shelter. But of cause the snake was always slivering silently in the darkness as she stalks her prey under the disguise of the dead maids outfit. Once they got far enough Kiztoria took off her disguise leaving it in on the moody floor as she walked up close to the building, she took a sneak peak in, all she could see was darkness which brought warmth to her heart, walking inside she would close the door behind her self as she would crouch down and blend her self with the darkness as she stalked the two drunken men from a far. one of them where being awfully loud, shouting things about knights and ladies, he sounded like a horny teenager that couldn't control his hormones. Whiles stalking about she tried her best to make no sound as she crouched and stalked about the shop, but no matter how hard she tried, the floor bored seemed to be too old and creaked lightly anyways. It was then the doctor fell close to her as she remained still like a stature or a scared rabbit that just saw its hunter. She didn't want to be seen and if she was to get one of them, the doctor could be the easiest but then again who knows what these guys are capable off. there where so many strong people in the grand line that one false move could cost her life. Regardless it was time, and whiles the doctor was distracted by the thought of soft skinned woman, she would use all her speed and agility to crawl around him and attempt to poke his leg with her finger blade, aiming for his ankle, which contained a poison that attacks the muscles and should make it slightly stiff, making it much harder to move. with that she would swiftly move to the other side of the room, hiding her self behind a few box's. As Jack, Brycen, and their unkown stalker continued to walk down the dark tunnel, they would all begin to be aware of things beocming rather... strange. Jack continued to smell a slight breeze of pine as he continued to walk along the creaky wooden floor of the run down shop- the memories of the night having faded away with the alcohol in his and Brycen's mind. Strangely enough though, the blond pirate found the scene to be slightly sobering almost, like by the more he walked the more his senses seemed to start returning to him more and more. This was a sensation that Brycen would experience as well, although, to what degree would most likely depend on how drunk he had gotten at the pub from earlier. Regardless, Jack couldnt help but suddenly feel somewhat curious about what the light at the end of the increasingly long hallway was. The light was still very much there of course, but no matter how far Jack seemed to walk, it felt as though the light was still so very very far away from him. The pirate frowned as his feet continued to walk along the wooden floorboards of the shop... Atlhough, the more that he walked along, the more he slowly began to hear the wooden floor beneath him creaking less and less, isntead becoming slightly more bumpy, unevern, and even natural in a way... "Oho? Why, I think we're getting closer me hearty! Come Brycen!" Jack said to his partner as he started walking faster along the shop's hallway. For some reason, the light ahead of them seemed to completely capture his thoughts, almost like it was calling out to him- Jack wasn't sure if his doctor felt the same way about the strange discovery, but the blond certainly wanted to see what was waiting for them now! As Jack walked faster and faster, he failed to notice how the black halls of the dark hallway were rippling almost as he and Brycen walked along, becoming more spaced out almost- like they weren't even walls anymore. Through it all though, there was that scent of pine, now with a deeper and more crisp scent that made Jack feel as though he were back in the forests of Greensland where he had grown up. However, as the pirate continued to walk, he began to notice some of the... strange... things that were occruing. For one, he felt a light breeze brushing at him from his side, as well as hearing the sound of leaves high above him rustling in the wind. However, it was only as the hallway began to gently slope upwards, of all things, causing Jack to stumble as he shuffled upwards, smelling the scent of wet grass, that he suddenly realized just what had happened. For upon reaching the top of the strange simulated hill did he realize that he was no longer in any simple hallway, in fact-
Jack's eyes widened as he stood atop the grassy nightime hill, the moon was shining bright from high above and seemed to illuminate the area with an eerie yet strangely calming aura of white. On the one hand, the sight of it all caused Jack to stare in amazement at how beautiful the scene was, yet on the other hand, he couldn't help but feel somewhere on the way home he and Brycen had taken a wrong turn. The pirate pinched his arm just to make sure he wasn't dreaming, yet sure enough the pain that rippled throughout his arm confirmed that this was all very much real. The blond simply stood there then, oggling the strange forest with confusion as his mouth hung open wide enough for an apple to fit in it, "I don't, I, what?" he stammered to himself before his mind began to reel in confusion. The pirate began looking around frantically, where there had been wooden walls, there now were trees stretching into the night. Where there had been a wooden ceiling above them, there now was a nighttime sky that sparkled with the brightest and most beautiful stars that he had ever seen! The whole revelation was sensory overload, and thorugh it all, Jack still smelled that scent of crisp pine, a scent which now permeated from the trees all around him. The pirate looked to Brycen once again before looking back the way they had came, "The door- the hallway- They're gone!" Jack said in a panicked manner, as, sure enough, there was nothing behind them save the sloping hill they had just walked up, with just the treeline beyond that. The pirate staggered forwards, his mind still transitioning from an adventurous and cruious spirit into one of utter confusion- where in the world were they? What was this place? As Jack thought these things, squatting down before falling onto his knees and grabbing his head in frustration, the pirate once more noticed a light ahead of them- except, it seemed much closer than when they had looked into the building from the doorway. As the man squinted his eyes, he noticed the light seemed to be flickering. Sure enough, upon carefully making out the scene ahead of them at the bottom of the hill the two were standing on, Jack could make out a small fire with a unkown figure sitting on a log watching it. The pirate frowned, but still felt that this was the very same light the two men had seen when they started walking down the hallway. Jack was at a loss for once despite being the captain of the meme team, "What, do we do?" Jack asked Brycen, looking for his take on the sudden change. The night was cold, and the forest ominous looking despite how beautiful everything looked. Perhaps the most concerning thing on the man's mind though, was how the door behind them had disappeared, the hallway having simply vanished. It was creepy in a way, the more that Jack sat there on the grassy hill and looked around at the forest around him, he couldn't help but feel like they were being watched... |

The real question here was, where exactly had he arrived? Brycen’s hyperactivity began to die down as he continued to walk, moving back into line with his captain instead of prancing off ahead. He wasn’t quite sure why he’d been so excited in all honesty, because as he looked around, and focused on the creaky floor, it became apparent to him that the only type of women to live here would be a lot older than he. His nose turned up a little bit and his head lowered a little bit, hoping that he hadn’t attracted any pensioners or anything, and that they wouldn’t notice him if he had. Unfortunately, moving along inconspicuously did not seem to be on Jack’s mind, as he was now picking up pace and making more noise with each step. The doctor picked up pace too to try and keep up, but found it a little bit difficult for some reason, as if one of his legs were falling behind. He frowned and looked at his leg, which on first inspection seemed fine, until he noticed a graze on the back of his leg. The only conclusion he could make was that he nicked it on something when walking through town, which was aggravating to say the least, as walking was becoming a chore now. If he hadn’t have noticed it though, he would have put it down to the alcohol, so he supposed it was best he knew now. That’d need some light bandaging later. Almost limping after his captain, he attempted to slow him down a little bit, in order to make up for his lack of mobility, to no avail. He sighed and continued onwards, lagging behind a little bit, mainly looking downwards to make sure that he could avoid any awkward confrontations. In fact, it wasn’t until he began noticing leaves beneath his feet, feeling a breeze against his face, and being forced to look up as he bumped into the back of Jack that he realised things had changed. Instinctively the man span round, his eyes trying to make out the hallway they’d been in, with no success at all. It seemed to have just completely vanished, without a trace, and he was struggling to remember what the hallway had been like in the first place. Inquisitively, he wet his wrist and breathed against it, before checking his breath. He’d expected to have found something strong and chemical like, but instead it was just the thick smell of booze. “Damn, that drink was strong…” He grinned at the sort of pun he made, before realising that now wasn’t the time to laugh, seeing as they were now lost in the middle of nowhere. His eyes darted around, trying to figure out if perhaps this was in fact just the buildings garden and they’d got lost, before concluding they would have seen it previously. Utterly dumbfounded, he staggered over towards a tree, inspecting it in all its glory. It looked like a normal tree, at least on first inspection, although something felt off about it. He could quite clearly smell the pine emanating from them, and it was perhaps that in particular which had helped clear his mind. Boy, what was with him and being intoxicated when things got important? Once he’d finished touching up the tree, he turned to Jack, who had spotted something at the bottom of the hill they were on. Brycen followed his line of sight, towards the fire down below, with a mysterious figure sat below, cooking some marshmallows or something like that. Although he couldn’t quite tell, the doctor was pretty sure it was a guy and not a girl, and so decided to withhold his excitement, and not bound down the hill to introduce himself. Although he could have been wrong, he decided to remain calm and think straight. “Well, looks like there’s no turning back…” He was surprised at how calm he was right now, but perhaps that was the alcohol slightly still in his system, slowing down his reaction time by a millennia. Maybe a little bit later he’d start to panic, but for now he was pretty chill. After having faced the king of undead, he supposed nothing would surprise him as greatly, although the world always found a way to prove him wrong. For example, that time when he’d told Cream that Clyde would totally not realise if she put some cheese in his food, and would do him no harm. Needless to say, he’d been left to do cleaning duty for like a week after that little issue. Seriously though, he’d never seen someone deconstruct a piece of food and then manage to coat every wall of the ship in chunks of cheese, like a toddler in a fit of rage. “Maybe asking the locals for directions would be a good call after all” He shrugged his shoulders and looked at the figure, before hearing a noise behind him. His head turned as quickly as he could manage, but only saw the rustling of a bush. His fist clenched briefly, before he passed the movement off as an animal or something. He was pretty sure he’d spotted some birds or something nearby, so maybe it was just one of them playing tricks on him. After all, it wasn’t like there were many people around anyway. It was just him, Jack and the mysterious fire guy down at the bottom of the hill, right? The doctor began slowly making his way down the hill, waiting up for the pirate captain to make sure that this was a good idea, before continuing. He winced a little in pain at the injury to the back of his leg, but knew that all in all, it was his fault for being clumsy. “It’s not that bad though, not re- AHHH” Just as Brycen began to talk to himself about not struggling too much, his leg managed to give out, sending him sprawling down the hill, bouncing and then turning sideways to the point where he then ended up rolling down at high speeds, shouting all the way. Although he couldn’t make out where he was, he could tell the light was getting closer, which just caused him to shout even louder: “SAVE ME JAAAAACCCKKK!” |

Kiztoria was pleased that her poison was effecting the doctor, seeing him slowly struggle as she continued to stalk them deeper inside the building. It was then her eyebrow raised as she soon found her self not in a building but inside a wired looking forest, what the hell was this? she thought to her self in a puzzled manner, still staying under cover so that the other two couldn't see her, she moved in closer to view what was going on. the two men seemed clueless as well as the ventured deeper. It was then she noticed a figure that seemed to look like a man cooking mush mellows close to a tree, how odd, looking at the other two she made sure to keep an eye on them as she sneakly made her way down closer to the man, for a better look, she still couldn't make him out. What was going on her exactly? first they where entering a building now they ended up in some wonder land from a book? she narrowed her eyes to make a better look at the man, that was until she heard a sudden yell, looking back she found that it was the doctor! She whelped suddenly in an unusual cute voice as the doctor rammed into her in his chaotic fall coursing the bush she was hiding in to erupt with leafs and sticks, with the doctor on top of her she remained there in a daze, wondering to her self what the hell just hit her, looking towards the doctor she found out it was them! shit she has been found! she would push the man off her in a violent manner and crawl backwards like a coiled snake, pointing her finger blade at them as if readying her self for them to attack her. |

Jack looked to his doctor as the two men considered their rather unfortunate and unsavory position. Perhaps the most startling fact though was how calm they had become after accepting the fact they were no longer on Cactus Island and were... well... wherever it was they now were. The pirate frowned as the other man brought up the possability of talking to the man sitting at the fire to ask him where they were. "I don't know, what if he's some crazy guy who just tries and murder our giblets- this pirate wants to make sure he's still a jolly roger after all" the man said, scratching his chin as he looked back down the hill at the figure who was sitting on a log staring into the fire. The pirate treid to make out more details about the individual, yet, the bright flames made only a black outline of the stranger clear- he couldn't tell anything whatsoever about anything else from up where they now stood. Deciding not to risk it, Jack shook his head, turning ot face his partner once again, "I say we take our chances with these woods- perhaps we just accidentally walked out the back door and ended up into this forest?" the man tried to reason- although as he said it aloud, he realized how foolish the idea surely sounded. Before the blond could say antyhing more though, he suddenly found himself staring at thing air, as Brycen began walking down the grassy hill towards where the stranger was sitting. Jack raised an eyebrow but decided to simply follow the doctor for once, better to let him get curbstomped by whatever monster was waiting for them and let the all-important captain escape, right? Either way, Brycen's leg seemed to suddenly give out, causing him to fall and start log rolling comically down the grassy hill towards the bottom where the figure was sitting in front of his campfire. As Jack began running after his friend though, he too would trip over his feet an fall hard onto his stomach, before rolling down the hill like a log exactly like Brycen. The two men log rolled down the hill before suddenly crashing into a nearby bush which cushioned their momentum- although only a little, as a new voice suddenly squeaked in surprise at being discovered. The blond felt himself being pushed away along with Brycen as a woman clad in dark clothes now stood before them, with a single yet very sharp and well used blade pointing at them. For a moment, Jack was genuinely surprised, he hadn't been expecting anyone in this forest save for him and Brycen. After this moment of stunned silence was over though, Jack's emotions and words returned to him. "Avast! A she-witch!" Jack shouted as he scrambled back a few feet, inspecting the newcomer with his one green eye. She certainly was a strange landlubber, that much was certain. With black and green hair, mismatching colored eyes, and a slim yet still rather musuclar looking build- "Arrrgh! She must be a mermaid! We should keep her since she'll grant us wishes and shit!" Jack exlcaimed, his heart suddenly beating twice as fast as he realized the gold mine he might have had on him. "Brycen, inspect the lollygagging ludicrous landlubber! I'd hate if our new genie- I mean friend were hurt because of yer tomfoolery! Ye bleedin' cockroach!" Jack wailed on Brycen, not wanting the totally boring and lame as hell doctor to ruin the crew's chances of getting 3 wishes from their newfangled mermaid friend. Returning his attention to the mermaid, Jack realized he had failed to ask a few simple questions first and foremost, "What's your name lassie? Are ye stuck in this godforsaken forest too?" Jack asked, wondering just what a mermaid was doing in this wonderland of all places. "Hmm... are you Scorpio perhaps?" a new voice said, coming from the fire. Jack whirled around on his heel as he heard the voice direct the question to the mermaid, "Shut yer yap ya old sea dog!" Jack shouted, but found himself losing his energy as the figure sitting at the campfire turned his gaze directly to look at the three newcomers. The middle aged man scratched his chin as he looked at the three: first gazing into the eyes of Kitzoria, then Jack, and lastly Brycen before looking back at the marshmellow he was holding above the moderately large fire. "You kids look hungry, come take a load off and have a marshmellow or two" the figure said, speaking with a certain sort of subliminal authority that made Jack forget his worries and fears and isntead calmly walk over to the firepit and silently sit on one of the logs surrounding the fire. It was... strange, for some reason the pirate felt calmed instantly when the stranger looked at him- he wasn't sure if Brycen or the mermaid felt the same effect, but Jack felt his anxieties and fears fade away as he stared into the fire. For a while, the blond simply remained silent, looking around the area a swell as the beautiful night sky above them with more stars than Jack ever thought possible. It was only after the stranger finished cooking his smore and plopped it into his mouth that he spoke again, "I'm surprised we have 3- I was expecting 2. That's a good number 2, it can be divided wholly, 3 always felt like a wretched number to me honestly" the stranger said with a momentary frown. Before sitting up a bit more straight. Jack hesitated as he sat there, "So... Um... who are you?" he asked causing the man to briefly snort before calmly answering. "I'm Frank, but I suppose you could call me Libra- or not, I'll answer to either honestly" the man mused as he thought to himself aloud. After swallowing his marshmellow fully, the man looked around at the three that had gathered once again before sighing and looking at his watch briefly, "Hmmm, 3am- four more hours I suppose. Now thats a good number, four, divides equally and whatnot- better than three, dreadful thing I suppose" "Welcome to my abode, how can I help you?" |

The rolling went on for an uncomfortably long time, until finally Brycen came to a stop in a nearby shrubbery rather roughly. The world was spinning for him, and a mix of dizziness and the lingering alcohol which was yet to completely passed, meant that he was not in a good way. Any attempts to talk for a few moments came out as slurred groans, and he couldn’t see straight as it was. However when that finally began to pass, everything became clear to him. In front of him, he could see a figure which he’d never seen before, with a very specific colour palette of green. He frowned, before realising something: “Are you an elf?!” Elves were always dressed in green, weren’t they? They had pointy hats, and odd green clothing which was usually skintight, and… Oh what else? He couldn’t work it out, but when finally his vision completely cleared and he could make out the woman’s face, he finally understood this was no ordinary being. This was no elf, for she was much higher than that. No, she was an angel. A rather dark and twisty looking angel, but nevertheless a beautiful angel which required his complete attention. As soon as this came to mind, the doctor hopped to his feet, throwing his arms in the air and shouting: “An angel! She probably has wings like Cream too!” Brycen continued to buzz like an excited school boy, looking her up and down, inspecting specific parts of her with great interest as if she were a specimen on the table. Her eyes in particular were something that interested him, and he understood heterochromia well enough to know that although unusual, this was no sign of anything transcendent. His smile grew wider though, for he knew he had found the perfect woman for him. In fact, things only got better when Jack yelled about her being a mermaid. Could this really be true? The man tried to hop around, before realising that he was in fact unable to due to his leg injury, which was annoying, but he tried even so, bobbing up and down on one leg whilst trying not to fall due to being on a slope. He’d always wanted to meet a mermaid, and although he saw no evident signs of his claim, it wasn’t like his captain was wrong very often, apart from those times when he was, not that he was trying to make that as his point. His actual point was that he was finally meeting a mermaid after all this time, and Tessa was not even close to comparing. Sure, their whale-lady was cool and attractive and all, but she was lacking some of the human features which this lady had. The sharp looking weapon she had felt a little bit dangerous to him, but that was fine, he’d work around that. “It’s not my fault my leg’s buggered. Has been since we got here. Blame the trees, they’re onto us I tell you” He was only half joking when he made his bold statement against the trees. If he had have been sober it would have been clear he wasn’t serious, but right now he was even confusing himself. He had a job though, and he would happily obey. Becoming a tad more serious, he offered out a hand to the woman who was still backing up little by little, like a cornered cat or something. He didn’t want to hurt her, but if she was ok with it, he would happily check for any injuries and help her where needed. Inspections were most definitely his sort of doctoring, and he was certain he excelled in it. “You’re not hurt are you?” He made sure to sound serious, and gave her a concerned look. She looked well built, but seeing as he rolled down the hill at high speeds, and undoubtedly weighed more, it was worth making sure she was ok. However, after offering her a hand up, whether she accepted or not, a voice could be heard from behind. Brycen turned towards, rather surprised having completely forgotten about the man who had been at the campfire. In a rather similar way to Jack, as soon as he turned towards the man, he seemed ready to sit down with him. In fact, pretty much as soon as he was called over, he began walking slowly over there, almost forgetting about the woman he’d been trying to help up. His mind became a little distracted too, no longer focusing on all the questions he had for her, and instead more on the fire, and some sweet sweet mallows. A few moments later and the group was sat around the fire, although who was there the doctor didn’t know, finding it too much effort to check. Odd. Instead he sat there, slowly winding in marshmallow after marshmallow, not really trying to swallow or chew them and so ending up playing the world’s worst game of chubby bunny, solo edition. He listened to the conversation, feeling relaxed now that he’d given himself serious diabetes with the amount of sugar he’d eaten. The guy called himself Frank, or Libra, which seemed familiar somehow… He couldn’t put his finger on it though, but he was sure if he wasn’t relaxed then he’d be focused on that. “Oh? Another… Numbers guy?” His mouth was still full of food, and he was speaking slowly, but he was getting his point across rather well he was pretty sure. He himself had always been quite capable with numbers, and to a degree they’d interested him, apart from in maths class of course. It was interesting to listen to him talk though, especially about time, and when it would pass. It didn’t make sense, but it was still interesting. Something caught his ear more though, as the man pointed out that where they were now was apparently his abode. This outdoors fire was his home? Odd man. “Your place huh? Don’t want a picture of your family hanging from a nearby tree or something?” It was only a suggestion, but for many people who lived in the harsh environment of the Grandline, that would be a mistake asking them a question such as that. Who knew, maybe this guy still had a home, and wasn’t just some homeless bum offering marshmallows out to people. |

Jack sat there awkwardly nom'ing on a marshmellow as he sat there with Brycen, the strange middle aged man, and presumably the mermaid they had just met. The pirate swalloed as he decided to go ahead and soak in the new information that he was listening to. However, the main doctor for the Maelstrom Pirates did bring up a good point, what exactly did this crazy old man mean by stating that he 'lived' out here? Jack had always known that life on the Grand Line would be terribly hard considering how many strong and scary powerhouses were roaming there, people who could munch on him and his entire crew like they were chew toys practically. Jack could see the image in his head, although quickly tried to shove it out just as quickly as it had come. Fortunately, it seemed as though that this Libra fellow was quite a relaxed man, by the way he spoke at least, "It's not much, I know, but it's relaxing- especially when outside the world keeps trying to rip itself apart... Not in half mind you, but into three pieces- that's a terrible number, three, I like two or four better..." the man said to himself before eating another marshmellow and giving out a small burp. "Enough of me though, surely there is something I can do for you? I don't usually get visitors this deep in the woods- well, human ones anyways" Frank said with a chuckle, causing Jack to blink before realizing that the question was aimed at him and Brycen. The blond, not quite sure what to make of the stranger's proposal, stammered a bit, "I, er-..." he said aloud as he tried to think of something to say after being put on the spot out of nowhere. "-Brycen help me out here" the pirate said, quickly turning his head to see if Doc Boy would be able to think of something witty and intelligent to say compared to the unsavory pirate. He was a doctor all, that meant he was smart, right? While Jack hoped Brycen was thinking of something to say after all of this, the man became aware of the stranger frowning slightly, "Hrmph, I suppose I can start you on the right path then... Let's see here..." the man said, putting his marshmellow stick on the ground before staring briefly into the fire. Jack watched as the man picked up a handful of strange objects: some blades of grass, some dirt, an acorn, a few flowers, and a few pinches of salt and other minerals. With this handful of materials the man stood up and walked over to Jack first, "Spit" he said. Jack hesitated, but complied witht he request, spitting up a strrand of saliva onto the pile of earthy objects. Frank then walked over to where Brycen sat and asked the same, "Some spit, if you will" he asked. Assuming that the doctor complied, the stranger would spin around abruptly and throw the materials into the fire. The campfire roared to life, growing four times as large while retaining its former heat. Frank said some inaudible mumbo jumbo has he waved his hands around, his eyes seemingly trained on the fire- but the more that Jack looked at them, the more it felt as though he was simply staring off into space. The fire began to change as Jack and Brycen sat there. The flames seemed to dance around, changing all sorts of colors in the process. Jack stared on in marvel, "What on earth..." he said to himself as he watched hte lightshow unfold. Frank seemed in the zone though, first turning his gaze to Jack as he spoke, "Ahhhhh, interesting... Saggitarius? I wasn't expecting that from a poor lad like you!" the old man said with a laugh before the flames once more changed again, this time to show a figure walking along. "You seem to be the optimistic one, no? I see great, great, great turmoil ahead for you boy, I shudder to think of the things you'll have to do- and wonder, will you truly be the same when you come out of the Maelstrom?" the man said, giving one of those creepy old guy stares right at Jack who simply replied, "Wut?" regardless, the man didn't waste too much time on the man and instead turned his attention to Brycen next. "Let's see now- oh, why, this one is easy!" the man said before laughing loudly, "Why even a blind man could see Aires living within you! That cheeky ram, so brave and so adventurous!" the man said waving his hand once more, causing a ram to appear in the flames knocking Jack's little flame stick figure out of sight. Jack frowned at that but shrugged it off, who knew how many mushrooms this crazy old man had eaten out here all alone. Instead, the priate picked up his marshmellow covered stick and started poking the ram int he flames with it playfully as Frank continued to speak. "I see... Oh dear, why, that is troubling. I see... you standing on the edge of a great darkness, one that consumes all it touches- you're making a choice, but you're forgetting something... Something important..." the man said. Jack watched to his alarm as the Ram in the flames grew and began to mutate turning into a dark shadowy creature that now stood towering over them all- as if it had fused with the very flames themselves. The pirate's eyes widened as the creature seemed to leer at Brycen, its souless red eyes narrowing in on the hero before reeling back and charging at the doctor! In a sudden motion of his hand though, Frank caused the flame to die down, returning to its normal size and color once more as just a regular campfire. -and with that, the man sat down on his log and started roasting some more marshmellows. For what felt like the umpteenth time that night, Jack went ahead and said, "Umm..... Wut?" The one yes pirate sat there with his marshmellow stick in hand blinking a few times as he tried to make sense of what he had just seen. Frank hummed a little hum to himself though and just went back to eating his marshmellow. Jack narrowed his gaze at the stranger, "Alright buddy, enough with the half-assed parlor tricks. Start shooting some straight answers or we'll keelhaul ye and make ye walk the plank! Where are we? Who are you?- and how do we get home?" Jack yelled. However, upon paying closer attention, he realized one very important thing. Frank had disappeared. They were now alone... Again. |

The doctor sat there nodding, not really sure what this crazy middle aged guy was going on about. Sure, it did seem a little relaxing, but they currently had very little around here, and the world ripping itself apart line made little sense to him. He’d not seen any massive holes in the ground recently, and although he knew not to take it literally, it still felt odd. Maybe it was something he didn’t know about the Grandline? Well, just another reason to be on edge around these parts he supposed. He didn't know as much as he needed to about these so called treacherous seas, but perhaps he was going to learn soon, seeing as they were currently in an impossible forest with some weird guy. Something was on the doctor’s mind and he couldn’t shake the feeling something was up. He was forgetting something, and he felt like he should tell Jack, but now wasn’t the time… He continued to ponder to himself, a slightly stressed expression on his face as he continued to fail at coming up with anything, to the point where he almost missed the rest of the conversation. Luckily he managed to tune back in, and just in time to completely miss the point: “Women, tell me how to woo them. I need it, I’m desperate! I mean… Well… Some advice would be nice” The older guy didn’t seem to hear him though, and instead went on with his own ideas, throwing a tonne of random stuff into a pot, as if he was creating some weird concoction for science. Apart from there wasn’t even a pot, and instead he was just cupping his hands, which was a little odd in all honesty. Things got even weirder though, as he walked over towards Jack and asked for some spit. What mystical thingymabob was this? Why was he asked for spit? Did he really mean it? Why was he off his head with silly ideas like this? Why had he not thought of this sooner to take DNA samples and then clone some of the crew members, training them to do his bidding? Considering the possibilities with Cream’s samples, he noticed the man now stood before him, asking also for some spit. His face turned mildly pale but he leant forwards nonetheless, building up a little bit in his mouth before letting it dribble down, managing to not put any power behind it and therefore just make a fool of himself. He raised his hand like a child in class almost instantly after, hoping to request the man to not take his bodily information and sell it on to a crazy scientist who wanted an incredibly strong, handsome and intelligent DNA. He totally wasn’t sorry if he’d just ruined a future adventure plan. However, as it turned out, Frank just chucked everything into the fire anyway, which made the doctor promptly drop his arm. “So… What was tha- Oh… OH!” At first Brycen didn’t notice anything, but then images began to appear, apparently telling the two something about themselves. He addressed Jack first, as he had before, talking about… Sagittarius? Another chill ran up his spine, despite the heat from the campfire and the chill atmosphere around them. Something about that… The man had introduced himself as Libra, so obviously he was into star signs and all that stuff, but the ability to then call the captain out on his, was… Impressive. Was he right though? Not being overly interested in that sort of thing, he’d not really bothered asking any of the crew their signs, or their birthdays for that matter, which was a bit rude of him. It was always good to have knowledge about your crewmates, even if insignificant as those pieces of information, before you could throw a party for them, or maybe it’d give you the edge in combat, because you know them a tiny tiny bit better. “What am I even thinking about…” The doctor muttered to himself, unimpressed at his lack of concentration, before focusing back on the fire. He could make out an individual, walking alone on a path, seemingly unbothered by the world around him, and so most likely was in the Blues from what he understood. Frank seemed to think otherwise, stating that this was a bad thing for whatever reason, although maybe it was because he was alone. Now that he thought on that, was it because the old guy was alone, and that’s why he was actually insane? That didn’t matter now though, for a ram decided to burst into the picture, blocking the view of anything else before growing in size and changing shape… The doctor cursed loudly as the beast lunged for him, yet somehow Frank got a hold of his campfire jutsu, and it quickly died down. Brycen had long since fallen backwards in fright, but now that he looked up and realised things were safe, he was at a loss for words. He heard Jack’s confusion too, for neither of them knew how to act with such an occurrence. Neither had seen something like this before, and in all honesty even the Lich seemed kind of… Less surprising in some regards. Just when he thought he’d not be surprised again, the Fire Nation attacked. “Soddin’ devil fruit users! I tell you, they ruin every fun moment. First they torture you with cookies, then they try and take over the earth, and then they spook you with fire. Screw you old man!” Brycen then too, noticed that Frank had disappeared. This was no ordinary Firebender it seemed, he had some other sort of powers… Weird. This had to be the work of a devil fruit though? Nothing else would scare him so. But, like a spoilt kid blaming hackers, eventually his rage cooled down, even if it was down to the assistance of sugar, in the form of more marshmallows. “Sucks to be him, he left his food behind!” He laughed to himself and threw one in the air, catching it in his mouth and squishing it between his tongue and the roof of his mouth. He was very confused, and something important he’d managed to forget, but for now he needed to keep positive in order to not have a breakdown. He thought they were away from all this stupid stuff, and back into the normal world, yet here he was, trying to be a doctor/hero, in a world full of alien like beings. What ever happened to just regular old purse nabbings? He sighed: “That was an experience… I don’t know how to tell you this cap’n, but I’ve got a terrible feeling about this. Worse than the feeling of leaving Cream to walk around town on her own, and crossing your fingers that she won’t get into trouble.” |

Jack blinked a few more times before he came back to reality. The pirate looked over to his doctor with a momentarily confused look on his face, until he noticed the bag of marshmellow hidden behind the log that Frank had been sitting on. "Huh, I was wondering where he kept getting those from" the pirate said, stanidng up from his spot and walking around the now regular campfire once again to pick up the more than half empty bag. "Interesting..." the pirate said to himself as he pulled one of the marshellows out of the bag and ate one. Instantly though, his eyes shot open and he proceeded to gag a bit, hunching over as he clutched at his throat before swallowing down the food and looking to Brycen with a flustered face, "I just realized something terrible!" the pirate said with a panicking complection, "These... These marshmellows..." he said, looking intesnely at the plastic bag. "-They're one day past the expiration date!" Jack yelled in a fit of despair and rage before dropping down to his knees. Curses, how could he have not realized it sooner? Jack surely had brought ten thousand years of shame upon his ancestors for failing to realize such a crucial piece of information. Still, once Brycen actually spoke his warning, Jack let the issue go. "Hmm, you may have a point- I bet this guy didn't even have a permit to make a campfire here. Highly suspicious if you ask me" Jack said to himself as he stood up and rubbed his chin. In all seriousness, Brycen brought up a fairly big issue in that Frank hadn't explained anything in detail about who he was or where they were at the moment- or, more importantly, how'd they'd get back to Velvet Tip and back to the crew. For all intents and purposes, they were on their own. Still, that man, he didn't seem to be evil, at least not evil like they had seen in Tolbjorn back on Desertia. Still, if Brycen was right, and Frank did have a Devil Fruit, then what on earth was it that could warrant the them all being transported out to the middle of this godforsaken forest? "Hmmm... Cleo said there were three types'a Devil Fruits, the first being some of that transofmration mumbo jumbo, the second I think was elements- what was the last one? I forgot, Zehaha" Jack said trying to remember the things that Cleo had told them about Devil Fruits back on Desertia. The man recalled that the woman had explained all three types to him, but for some reason, he couldn't figure out what that last one was. It was then though that Jack began to notice that their group was watched. Looking past Brycen, the pirate could see small little white humanoid creatures standing in the trees, rocks, and vines all around them. Naturally, this startled the man, who wondered if his sanity was already starting to break. The could hear the creatures make small chirping noises as they playfully bumbled around. The pirate wasn't quite sure what to think in al honesty. Jack opened his mouth to speak to his partner but felt something tugging at his pants, looking down, the man realized one of the same little creatures was tugging at him to come and follow. "Oh dear, more locals it seems- these landlubbers are a strange bunch I'll tell you that" Jack said to himself before deciding to go along for now and follow the little forrest dwelling creature as it began to lead him across the grassy clearing to the treeline once more, and, specifically, to a forest path where a small group of the white creatures were waiting, although they simply ran into the bushes and disappeared once the humans had come close. Jack remained silent for a bit as he walked on the forest trail, mostly because for all the strange and confusing events that had transpired so far, he still felt on hie guard- a good thing to be when you end up meeting a creepy wild man who gives you one day expired marshmellows and does some weird soul searchng stuff. Still, as the man walked along, he, as well as Brycen if he indeed followed, would eventually start to hear running water up ahead. Squinting his eyes, the pirate would see through the dark wood multiple lanterns swaying gently."Oh good, maybe its another campsite?" Jack asked Brycen before walking ahead and breaking through the treeline once more to find himself at the edge of a river. Jack froze as he saw it though, for resting on the banks of the river was a large-like boat filled with strange creatures sitting and chattering loudly, dressing in decorative clothing, holding candlelit lanterns to light up the area, and overall seeming in a festive mood. Jack's eyes continued to grow wide though as he looked on, wondering if his eyes were playing tricks on him. There were frogs which sat upright and croaked loudly about crop farming, a falming cat with bright green eyes, a one-eyed bird dressed like a samurai with full on armor and katana, a humanoid man with a long red nose dressed like a pirest of sorts just to name a few! "This... This is a dream right?" Jack asked Brycen as he stood there in shock and confusion, "This-This isn't real, it can't be, we must still both be drunk piles of filth lying on the ship somewhere, right?" he asked again, yet the feeling of one of the white creatures from before tugging at his leg told him otherwise. Before he knew it, Jack's legs were slowly starting to move towards the crowded barge, a loud voice coming from what looked like the long rednosed humanoid shouted, "All aboard! Next stop is the grand festival!" the creature yelled. The pirate looked back to Brycen again, "M-Maybe, maybe we should go? Heh, it could be fun?" he asked aloud. For some reason, the captain felt a strange childlike sense of curiosity and adventure rising up from within him- after all, it wasn't like they were going to get anywhere staying in this forest, were they? Cream and the others could wait just a bit longer, right? "Maybe someone at that festival knows how we can get home?" the man asked before looking beyond him at the dark forest path where they had come from, maybe that woman they had met would be able to come along too so that they could all get out of this place? That was enough to convince Jack, for now at least. The pirate approached the boat, where one of the frog creatures looked him over, "Eh? Some stragglers, eh? I've never seen you before, are you coming to the festival to?" the frog croaked with a green slimy frown as it seemed to look down upon Jack and Brycen- although, it didn't seem to mind the fact the two of them were human. Jack opened his mouth to speak but one of the other grogs croaked to chime in, "Has he got the toll fee though? Why, we're already crowded enough as it is!" the frog asked aloud. The other creatures in the boat slowly began to switch their attention from talking excitedly to the two men, staring at them with a confused expression. "Why, 'erm, no, we don't have any money on us I'm afraid, we're a bit lost you- I told you! The dirty ones enver have any money, get out of here boy!" one of the frogs croaked to interrupt, causing Jack to stumble back slightly in surprise. It was the truth though, Cream had blown the majority of their budget on the headpiece of the ship, and Jack and Brycen had used their gold paying for booze. Jack was about to give up on the whole venture when a new voice spoke: "I'll be their patron, let the two younglings on" Jack looked to see who had spoken:
The woman who had spoken looked human in her body structure, but that seemed to be where the similarities ended. She wore a mask of some sort, one that obscured her face and simply showed off white emotionlessness. Strange fox-like ears perked up on each side of the womans head, they twitched with the gentle breezes, confirming that they were idneed part of her anatomy. She wore an elegant flowing and flower desinged dress which shined in the moonlight. Finally, a white tail poked out from underneath her robes. Jack, to say the least, was awfully suspicious of the woman despite being awfully suspicious about all of this straight from the start- still, "Al-Alright then" he replied, causing the other creatures to grumble a bit before going back to their buisness and chattering. JAck looked to Brycen to get on the boat with him, the pirate sat down on what open spac ethere was left next to their newfound friend, yet the former remained silent, still trying to take in what was going on as the woman paid the red nosed creature a small handfull of what looked like salt. A few moments later, and the rednose had pushed off from the sandy shore with a long wooden pole, pushing them all into the current of the river. |

Brycen looked down at the marshmallows in his hand, staring at them intensely, as if they were causing him to contemplate life and all that he held dear. He sighed, looking at the sugary treats as if they’d betrayed him, as if they’d killed everyone he cared about and then brought him to his knees with a sword at his throat, and laughed in his face. How could such a delicious piece of food be so evil to him? He sighed again, before popping them into his mouth. They weren’t that bad to be honest, and getting ill from eating them would probably be about a hundred times better than putting up with a trippy old guy flinging fire at them. “I’ve had worse” A brief image of the first time he tried to cook for Florence flashed before his eyes, which he quickly swatted away, not wanting to bring back those memories. It reminded him of something else though, he really needed to do some cooking for the crew. Cream couldn’t be left to have all the fun could she? He doctor swallowed his remaining marshmallows and looked over towards Jack, who seemed a little worried as well, albeit by things which didn’t matter quite as much. He laughed at the man’s sense of humour though, knowing that it was people like him that kept crews sane and intact. Despite being a little odd, the man knew how to rally a crew, and captain it. It was a respectable trait. “She did? I wasn’t listening to be honest… She distracted me too much” He laughed to himself and rubbed the back of his head innocently, before noticing his captain become a lot more serious. Following his gaze once again, the doctor frowned upon also noticing the numerous beings watching them. This place was one creepy mess after another, and it made him feel highly uncomfortable. It’d have been a whole lot easier if he was still laid on the streets outside the back of the bar. Thinking about it… He could quite possibly be having an incredibly rough hallucination right now. However, whether true or not, Brycen couldn’t help but smile at the little chirruping creatures, seeing as they did seem sorta cute and all. A small “Aw” could be heard from the doctor as he noticed one tug on Jack’s trousers, encouraging him to follow. Naturally, Brycen was up onto his feet rather quickly, and swiftly followed the rather cute creature, alongside his captain. The two walked in silence along the rather scenic path, looking out at the forest with great interest. He wondered it maybe there was some great secret hidden away there, which someone was yet to discover. He smiled again, for although he was in a mysterious place, surrounded by possibly dangerous creatures, and had just had his fortune told by a hippie, he still felt rather good and positive, and a lot calmer than before. He felt like he was forgetting two things now though… “I don’t particularly want to meet another crazy guy with too much spare time and a serious need for a hobby…” Grumbling to himself, he watched as Jack pushed the branches aside, opening them up to the world of even weirder creatures, at the side of the water. His mouth was left agape as he simply stared at the variety of beings before him. He’d seen people with odd disfigurements before, and had helped them where he could back on Swiftbreeze, but this was something completely different. These beings before him, they weren’t human to begin with, and weren’t unfortunately afflicted with anything. No, these were all weird animals that he could see. He had no words for the situation, and just looked about for a while. Pinching the skin on his forearm with his nails, Brycen attempted to wake up from this obvious weird dream he was in, with no success. Seriously, what the heck? He took a small step forwards, getting a closer look at all the things in front of him, aware that he wasn’t the only one seeing them, meaning they must have been real. The Lich had nothing on these guys! Was… Was this the work of another load of devil fruits? Maybe these were all made of fire, just like the stuff on top of the campfire had been, or maybe these were all people that had eaten those transformation fruits? Or… Could it have been some crazy creation by some random mad scientist or something? “S-Sure…” Upon hearing Jack invite him to the festival, the doctor managed to agree to go with him. It all seemed so surreal, but they weren’t going to learn any more about their situation simply by sitting around all day, or looking blindly through the forest, with no knowledge of what could have been hidden away out there. A moment later, the pirate pointed out what he’d been thinking, as if he’d read his mind or something. Nothing would really surprise him anymore in all honesty, he was sure of it this time. Carefully following the man, he made sure to keep an eye on the boat, looking over the creatures in case they lashed out or something. As a representative of human kind, the pirate captain spoke to the animals, mentioning that although they were broke, they had no money, and therefore no idea what to do. Annoyingly enough though, the residents didn’t seem very happy, and shunned them both for being both dirty, and broke. Kind of harsh in his opinion, seeing as it was a literal frog telling them that. A scowl grew on his face, and he began to wonder if it was worth arguing about, or just leaving it be. He didn’t want things to escalate in all honesty, even if he’d always wanted to see what frogs legs tasted like, and would happily cook this one. “Ah geez!” Brycen jumped as he heard a voice behind him, and turned swiftly to see who it was. It appeared to be a woman, which put him in a good mood right from the get go. She had animal ears too, so he really couldn’t complain, seeing as they did have a sort of cute look to them though. The main issue was the mask though, as it meant he couldn’t see her face and tell if she was pretty or not. For now, he’d be civil, and once he got to see her, he’d decide what happened. “Thanks, milady” He smiled at her, and then hopped onto the ship after Jack, sitting down carefully next to him. The masked lady had gone quiet, which was fair enough. He didn’t know why she was helping them, but once they could talk freely he would have to thank her. Whether she was pretty or not, help from another individual was almost always nice. As he thought that to himself, the boat began to move, down the river to who knew where. And that’s when it hit him; he’d been forgetting, or more accurately, not noticing, something for a while now. They were going to a festival right? Well… Wouldn’t this then count as a date? With Jack? It wasn’t like he wanted to go there with him specifically or anything… Baka… Brycen grinned to himself, leaning forwards to see past the man. No, he’d decided, it wasn’t his captain that he wanted to go to this place with… It was the fox girl, who obviously hid a very beautiful face behind that odd mask of hers. |
