Yuri sat on the deck of the ship, calmly sipping her tea as her latest batch of ‘recruits’ toiled away at making sure the ship lands in port properly. It was a long journey, one which forced her captives to endure many hardships. As it turned out there were a few occupants on board when she stole it in the chaos of Romulin Island, what with the devastation she caused from afar as well as the epic scale melee between Djazz Hyperion and Raine which ultimately seemed to have ended in Raines humiliating defeat at the hands of the formerly deceased Pirate turned possible Vigilante. Yuri hummed to herself as she calmly poured a cup of tea, one which was hot t the point of steaming for her ‘friend’ the young girl belonging to the family toiling and on the very of starvation and dehydration behind her.

Drink you tea dear, and be sure not to spill any… we wouldn’t want a repeat of last time right?” Yuri said cheerfully as the trembling child took the saucer and cup with shaky hands. Vision of cruel laughing and the crack of a whip while her horrified parents watched in impotent rage stung at her mind. She focused all of her efforts on taking the saucer and cup with steady hands and taking a small sip of the burning hot liquid. She could feel her tongue burn already, as if it hadn’t suffered enough on the ride thus far. However through trial and error she had learned it was best to endure her pain in silence, lest she give the psychotic android any more reason to harm her or her family. The girl in question had seen much better days, one eyes was forced closed due to swelling, and there were numerous lash marks on her back from the whippings she had to endure. Her formerly plump and pamper face was now gaunt and withered due to malnutrition. Her arms and legs were covered in bruises where at one point her parents had attempted to overthrow Yuri and force her into the sea only for the cruel woman to use their own daughter as a human shield/club. After that they were all compliant.

We’re almost there, oh I can’t wait to go to the arcade, and won’t it be fun? What would you like to do first Emily, perhaps some rides or getting some of those famous snow cones… or wait you were on a diet correct? I suppose you could serve to lose a few pounds. Same goes for the rest of you. You should be thankful I gave you the chance to have all this wonderful exercise~” Yuri cheerfully giggled as she sipper her tea and looked back to the terrified slaves she had running the ship. Like their daughter they were bruised, beaten, and weary. On the verge of collapse and fighting exhaustion with only the thought of what this madwoman would do to their daughter if they perished. Yuri was manipulating them like puppets on a string by using their beloved daughter as a hostage.

I Think Emily and I should freshen up, come along dearie, let’s leave the grownups to their work.” Yuri exclaimed clamping a painfully tight hand on Emily’s shoulder and leading her into their room. She wasn’t worried about the others, the explosive collars she had rigged up on their necks were enough to keep them in line, and aside from even the fact she held their daughter hostage. Yuri sat down at the dresser and snapped her fingers expectantly. Like a good and obedient girl Emily grabbed a brush and began to diligently brush Yuri’s hair. Over the course of their journey Yuri had taken immense pleasure in breaking the girl down. Consistent cruelty with intermittent acts of kindness served to instill in the girl a severe Stockholm syndrome; she just needed one more push to break her entirely.

You’re a good girl Emily, enduring all these hardships for the sake of your family, its touching, really. I know it may not seem like it but I do have a heart, it’s just… I’ve seen so much cruelty, so much callousness; I suppose it’s darkened me without me even noticing it. But you, why I dare say I’ve even grown fond of you.” Yuri exclaimed in a sincere sounding tone. Emily continued to diligently brush. Yuri nodded in approval at her work and produced a bright and healthy looking apple for the girl. She fought with every instinct to leap on it, waiting for Yuri to nod for her to take it and gently passed it to the girl. Her stomach growled, and when Yuri nodded again she devoured the entire thing, core, seeds and all in less than a minute. Yuri pulled the girl close and began to gingerly stroke her head while producing another for the girl to devour. She didn’t even care how patronizing it was, real food, real fruit, and it tasted better than anything she could even remember.

Emily, sweetie, I need you to know. I don’t want to hurt you but I feel that I can’t lie to you, not such a nice and honest girl like you. Those inhibitor collars I fixed your parents with, they have a receiver in them, it records what they say… and I’ve heard something disturbing. Here listen.” Yuri exclaimed as she produced the tape recorder and turned it on, immediately the voices talking could be recognized as her parents’.

“-To hell with this. If we leave now while that bitch is distracted with Emily in her room we can get out of range. Soon we’ll be close enough to swim to shore; there we can find help, get rid of these collars, and move on with our lives!”
“But what about Emily?”
“Emily is dad for as far as I care, I’m sick of being hungry and treated like dirt. She can have the brat for all I care, I’ve seen the way she hangs close, those looks she gives the bitch. I swear she's getting actual food, and she never thought to share it with her parents. Well to hell with her then, she can burn for all I care now. Besides, we can always make another when we escape.”
“Right… of course. The disgusting child, how dare she hog all the food to herself! We’ll make sure our next child is raised right and knows her place.”

Emily was in tears by this point; Yuri gently held her in a hug and patted her back. Of course the entire recording was false, she had rigged up a speaker to augment her voice when recorded and made it mimic the sounds of her parents. If the girl were in a right state of mind and not suffering malnutrition she’d recognize that. However Yuri had been whittling her will and mind down, filing and shaping it into what she wanted for the last few weeks, there was no way her addled brain could properly think things through.

There there its ok. I know it’s rough, but the world is harsh, and cruel. That’s how I got here, I’ve been betrayed, manipulated, and ripped apart by the ones I love too. That’s why I feel such a connection to you, we’re the same. Used up and tossed away when we’re no longer convenient. Don’t worry though, I won’t what happened to me happen to you, I’m going to help you, right here, right now.” Yuri cooed softly rubbing the girls head some more. Emily looked at her, confused, tired, hungry, and desperate.

R-really?” She asked, sniffling and wiping away a few tears.

Of course. The only way to make sure no one can hurt you is to harden yourself. And I’m going to give you the POWER to do just that. I’ve never put an explosive collar on you dear, because I knew you were good, unlike your rotten parents who would toss you aside so callously. Here, this is the remote to your parent’s collar, the red button detonates them, and the green one will unlock them and set them free. Let’s get you cleaned up and then we’ll go see them. I’ll leave their fate entirely up to you.” Yuri explained as she stood up and sat the girl down and undressed her. She quickly and diligently washed her with a sponge, getting the dirt, grime, ad dried blood cleaned off, combing her hair, and making her presentable. A nice dress which Yuri had custom tailored for the girl to fit in all the right places and that was made by hand was fit on her, and it perfectly covered up all the whip marks and scars.

Alright then, let’s go see them.” Yuri exclaimed as she led the refreshed girl out onto the deck. Her parents were huddled over the side of the ship, working to lower a dingy into the water now that they were close enough to row to the Island. They stared in shock at their daughter, who stared back in horror at her parents who were just like Yuri said, readying to escape and leave her behind.

E-Emily what are you? Come l-let us all escape; we were readying the ship for you as well!” The father called out desperately reaching for his daughter. She shrank away like his arm was a burning brand, hiding behind Yuri.

Y-You we’re really going to leave me! After everything I went through for you!” Emily spat, pain and anger in her voice. Yuri watched the display with perfectly disguised horror and sympathy.

N-No, I was readying the ship for you, but… why do you look so rested, and relaxed? H-Have you been eating real food? Have you really been holding out on us child?!” The father spat back, anger swelling in his voice. Yuri had pulled a similar trick with the parents, telling them that once they got near the island she’d let them take their daughter and a dingy and flee. Now it looked to Emily like they were abandoning her, the child had fallen, right into the manipulative hands of Yuri.

Get out of here you monsters, go! I never want to see you again!” Emily spat, the father reached out, but a violent glare from Yuri told him otherwise. He lowered his head and glared at his daughter as he lowered himself and his wife into the water.

Fine, stay with that monster you ungrateful brat, you won’t be missed!” He shouted as the boat hit the water and they began to row off. Yuri hugged the crying child and wiped away her tears with a handkerchief. She walked t the edge of the ship so they could both see her parents rowing off. And then she handed the remote to Emily.

I won’t choose for you my dear, it’s your choice. Will you let life walk all over you, or will you take what’s yours, and punish those who would spurn you?” Yuri asked, watching the girl shift her gaze between her parents sailing in the distance, and the remote in her hand. Emily’s face twisted into an expression of hatred and anger. Yuri smiled as she pressed the red button. A faint beeping could be heard in the distance, followed by woeful screaming and then finally a small explosion. After it passed, the dingy was gone, and the last Vestiges of what Emily was were destroyed. She watched the distance with cold, dead eyes. From here on out, she would be putty in Yuri’s hands.

Come along dear, let’s get prepared, we have a whole day of fun prepared. Rowe Island has grown fat and lazy since they lost their protection from the Government. Lets stir things up shall we?” Yuri asked walking ahead of the girl. She gave one last glance to the fiery ship before it vanished beneath the waves before turning on heel and following obediently.

Yes Mistress, whatever you desire.” She replied as the two of them managed to dock the ship. Yuri had everything prepared for her fun, but she told Emily to stay with the ship and ensure that it doesn’t get stolen. She was technically speaking the rightful owner of the ship, so any paperwork could be easily taken care of by the former aristocrat. She also gave Emily a list of chores to do around the ship to keep her occupy. Once that was completely she left some instructions for how to lure others onto the ship and how to quickly and easily incapacitate them. She might get a bit hurt in the process but Yuri saw real potential in her! With any luck she’d have some additional captives to return to and Emily would be well on her way to becoming a manipulative sadistic monster like herself. Yuri stepped into the island; it had certainly changed quite a bit. Gone were the fangs of the Fearsome Snow cone Shichibukai and his government masters. Rowe Rowe had lost its bite; the ‘big names’ that roamed the island were but a shadow of their formers selves. Sure it still ran itself, and sure you had to be careful. But this place was not the exciting terror it was before. Perhaps it was time to show this island what REAL terror, what REAL fear was.

Hehehe~ we’re going to have so much fun.” Yuri giggled to her as she casually sauntered into the crowd, searching for the best place to start the madness.

Sakura considered her adventures on that not so secret anymore marine island to be well mixed sounded good enough to describe things. On one hand she was paid to get to fight some members of a yonkou’s crew and have a ball overall. Buuut, much like all things in life, the actual experience turned out to be the battle equivalent of landing a seemingly hot date only to find out that when it came down to it, a lot of their promises and bragging collapsed under the expectations of reality. And just like they would shrivel up in multiple ways, her grand party turned out to just be beating on some pirate who was too misogynistic to attack a woman and then having some shadow come by, grab everyone and bail.

Letdown? Most definitely. She distinctly recalled spending a good amount of time pouting at the indignity of it all, even if the marines were good enough to pay her for her time anyway despite the whole thing being a bust. Far more helpfully, the old man also helped her out with finding yet another thing to occupy her time and a potential lead in hunting down her wayward pony! Apparently there was this island known for being a pirate gathering spot, and on top of that it got taken over by a Warlord! Now normally that detail would make the place a bit off limits like but said warlord ended up getting canned over some insane stunt so the whole place was free game!

And unlike the Yonkou incident, she wasn’t going into this with overly high hopes, the challenge would come more from numbers than quality and having carte blanche to go wild on an entire island was plenty fun in of itself. Even without that reasoning, Sakura had another reason to at least pass by; the island was known for being trouble and if there was one place that Blinkie could have landed where her craziness wouldn’t raise a big uproar, it would be the island of chaos. Of course the fact that the island wasn’t a smoking ruin already did suggest that her crazy pony girl wasn’t there but a lead was a lead. Maybe one of those pirates had met up with her?

“Ah, but that means that I’d need to remember to not beat them up too much….” And that sounded like it would get annoying fast, especially when people started lying to try to avoid the beating. Hmm, well she would cross that bridge when she came to it. For now, her ship’s mast was still serving as a good enough lookout for her to see that the island remained not on fire or in absolute chaos despite losing their leader and minder. Well she didn’t see that one lasting beyond today when she got done; it wasn’t often that there was an island filled with people she could pummel without a care and she was going to abuse it to the limit!

A feral grin crossed her face at the thought of the fun ahead, and between that and overall impatience, well why would she let her nice ship dock on such a wild island when she could easily reach the shore from here? She braced herself on the mast, leg muscles bulging as she shot herself forward like a rocket, another kick in the air keeping her on target to crash right into the rough street that made up the outer circle, the impact having enough force to smash the earth apart and send people scattering from what to all appearances was a cannon or bomb crashing and exploding. In that aspect, the cloud of dust she had kicked up was proving to be quite handy to give her a suitable dramatic entrance.

That grin just kept getting wider and wider, sharp teeth itching for that taste of blood and violence but no, there was an art to this, she couldn’t just slice everyone apart just yet. Even now the braver pirates were gathering to see what had landed, but then something like this probably wasn’t that big of a shock on a pirate island. Seeing a girl crouched in the small crater, hood covering most of her face might have been a bit weirder.

“Hello pirates of Rowe Rowe! I’m sure you’ve heard that Izuru has lost his position, which makes all of you fair game again! But honestly I don’t care about that, I’m just here to burn some frustrations and have fun. I hope you can make good playmates~”

Contrary to popular belief Chaos was not something you just started willy nilly. If you wanted to maximize the impact it took a lot of careful planning, positioning, and set up. Sure you could start a fire and watch the flames engulf everything, but if you just set one randomly it might not take on its own, or the local fire fighters would be able to douse it before it becomes the blaze it could have been. But with a bit of patience and careful planning you could cause even a tiny spark to become a raging inferno that consumed the lives and happiness of all those around it. Yuri was at the planning stage, simply walking around and plotting out her course.

Much as she had suspected Rowe Rowe Island had lost a lot of its bite with its founder having lost his title. The big names that sought refuge from the persistent pursuit from the Marines had up and left, off to find some other hole to mingle in between legendary brawls and wars that shook entire islands or the whole world to its core. What was left was a sizable collection of B list rookies, strong in their own right compared to the average man but laughable when compared to the monsters that used to roam freely. Thus far Yuri hadn’t noticed many that would be able to give her pause, as her abilities made her particularly hard to harm or injure. Many of the islands more benign attractions, such as Snow Cone Land had all but dried up due to the sudden loss of security. Why take your children there when Justice land offered the promise of family fun with guaranteed Marine protection. Sadly this meant her initial plan of causing a big scene by kidnapping a child and dangling her precariously from the top of a Ferris wheel or tying her to the tracks of a roller coaster was not going to be as effective.

As she pondered the best way to cause a scene like a blood lusted angel from heaven her prayers were answered. A sharp whistling sound caught her ears, and scanning the skies she saw a blur incoming from above. Yuri wasn’t entirely positive it wasn’t a bomb of some kind, and even if it was the blast wouldn’t harm her, but still better to be safe than sorry. She quickly took the initiative and ran away, rounding on a corner and turning to a cloud of steam out of sight and flying away. She quickly reached the top of a building a medium distance away and watched with morbid fascination at the newcomer. She could just make her out and she began to run the profile through her databanks of known figures.

Hmmm, scanning, target identified; Sakura Sakisorou. Bounty Hunter, threat index of 120, known for being proficient with armaments haki, her extensive use of the 6 forms superhuman martial arts, and her tendency for extreme levels of violence, sexual depravity, and collateral damage. Currently a forerunner for the position of Sea Knight. Interesting, sadly she's a bit of a bad match up for little old me. Chance of success with frontal assault… 20%, significantly below acceptable standards. Hmmm, chances of success via long ranged assault… 60%, still below acceptable parameters. Chances of assassination while distracted with engaging other targets… 75%, meets acceptable risk factors. Oh my, she's made quite an entrance already, perhaps if I egg some of the more reserved fighters to engage I could cause her to become distracted enough to kill her safely. Yes I think I shall do that~” Yuri said to herself, cheerfully identifying and calculating her odds of success against the feral bounty hunter. With a puff of steam she zipped away, far away from the melee. While their master had abdicated his post, many of the guards that ran the island were veterans of the grand line. While none of them had what it takes to challenge a lot of the big names, as a group there were a highly trained and disciplined lot. Yuri had previously identified the leader of one such group and put her her best terrified face. She ran up to the man, tears rolling down her eyes and clutched desperately at his fancy suit coat.

P-Please help! Th-th-there was some strange woman who fell from the sky, and she said she was just going to start killing everyone. It was over there… I think she was some kind of famous person, she called herself… S-Sakura or something like that, she looked like she was ready to go on a rampage!” Yuri whimpered, sniffling and wiping away the artificial tears rolling from her eyes. The guard didn’t particularly care about the child’s well being, but a threat to his bread and butter, now that was a cause worth fighting for. It wasn’t soon until the sounds of screaming and fighting would reach his ears, no doubt from a few pirates foolish enough to engage Sakura, that he confirmed the child’s story.

Alright, we’ll handle this. I want all units to advance to sector 3, we’re dealing with a big time bounty hunter, bring you’re a game and heaviest ordinance. We’ll show this Bitch and the world no body messes with Rowe Rowe Island and walks away.” He shouted into an ear piece as he sprinted towards Sakura’s location. Yuri watched him run and grinned to herself. The pieces were in play, it was time for her to take her position. With another burst of steam she disappeared and flew off. This time to the top of a tall building a long ways away from where the melee was happening. It was a bit hard to make out the exact details, so Yuri was forced to zoom in one of her eyes to get a better view. The fun was about to start, and she had to time and line up her shot perfectly if she wanted to maximize the casualties.

Sakura Sakisorou!! You gotta lotta guts showin up here and causing and scene. However I have a feeling that once we skin your corpse and hang it as a warning we won’t have any other meddlers causing us problems!” The lead guard announced as he held an oddly futuristic rifle in his hands threateningly. It hummed to life, and he was soon joined by 4 other men in similarly sharp looking suits. The wielded a variety of odd weapons, some melee, some appearing to be a gun of some kind. A scan of observation Haki would Tell Sakura that each of them was also pretty danged tough, and that they had no intention of being kind enough to fight her one at a time.

My name is Benson; I run this place while Izuru is off settling his own affairs. We’ll show you we don’t need the master’s help to take care of a small time bounty hunter like you! But this is a legit establishment so I’m gonna give you 1 chance, just 1 chance to walk away from this. Hit the road, NOW, cause if you don’t, me and the boys here are gonna turn you into a pretty little stain on the ice ya hear me!?” He shouted leveling the weapon at the bounty hunter. It began to hum and chilled air began to roil around it, apparently it was some sort of cryogenic weapon, no doubt crafted in honor of the former warlord Izuru. From a distance Yuri could make out a few of the weapons details. It was a nice piece of technology; those government connections could get you some nice toys. If it survived she would love to take it apart and perhaps even integrate them.

Well then Miss Sakisorou, show me what you can do~” Yuri exclaimed cheerfully taking a sip from a cup of tea, and watching the show about to unfold.

Of course Sakura knew and fully expected that her landing was going to draw attention; given the island’s reputation, it would have been horribly disappointing if no one found it wise to see what had managed to crash into the ‘street’ – okay no, that was not a street. What she saw from the docks was a street and she might have decided to go there since it clearly went straight to the middle of the island where she knew the good stuff was supposed to be but that would have required the effort of changing directions in mid air and Sakura could admit that she just got lazy about things in the end.

That and there was a certain charm in walking to the center, gradually dealing with the challenges that got tossed her way as the pirates and mooks did their best to stop her from doing – well doing something, she didn’t even know what she was going to do since she didn’t know what she was going to find besides a good deal of fights. The meaningful pirates had probably left after Izuru lost the island’s protection unless they were kind of stupid (which was quite plausible at that) but there might still be some notable ones lying around….

Oh wait, the crowd was trying to say something. She should probably try to listen to them in case they mentioned something of wor- okay no she couldn’t even finish that thought without laughter bubbling up, never mind. “Heya minions! Don’t mind me, just exploring and stuff, everyone needs a hobby and all that.” And she was quite ready to walk about her way too, she could tell that everyone here was the dregs of the island even without the briefing she had gotten from the old man but nope, pirates were not known for common sense or knowing when not to try poking the fluffy kitten before they got eaten. A particularly suicidal one got right up in her face and what the hell couldn’t these people afford toothpaste?! No wonder he was missing most of his teeth, tooth decay was a thing people! The dentist is the real scariest thing on the seas.

“I dunno who you are pretty kitty but there’s a fee for being on this island and the bosses don’t like it when people can’t afford to pay.” Oh he was still talking and why was he still in her way being all disgusting?

“I’m just going to cut you off before you dig your hole any deeper. Let me worry about your bosses okay? I’m not here for the appetizers anyway.” And with that Sakura walked around him and continued on her more or less straight line to the center of the island after a show of magnificent restraint that might well have held up to extended testing except that the guy had to reach out for her again. Yep, definitely one of those types who only learned from actions. Sakura heard the tone of anger and enough of his first word to get the gist of things and chose to skip to the end.

The sound he made when Sakura backhanded him into – and through – a wall was quite satisfying. The rest of the crowd’s laughter and jeering wasn’t bad either even though it meant that clearly, they still didn’t know who she was exactly. Honestly, what would it take to get a bit of respect and recognition around here anyway? Ah whatever, that was part and parcel why she was going to investigate and probably smash up this island. For now though, there were some benefits to relative anonymity along the lines of avoiding pointless rumbling, so she could enjoy the fun kind of rumbles instead.

On that note, onwards to victory! Well, another attempt at it anyway and she even made it a couple of blocks in before she got interrupted again! She figured that it was probably because she was in a nicer area with some solid looking buildings; it looked like she wasn’t in the decent area proper but she was close enough for the guards to challenge her. Ah well, more people to slap silly. Or that was the idea until their leader managed to completely surprise her.

“Wait, hold up a bit, I think we need to talk a bit first.”
A more reasonable person might think that Sakura was reconsidering charging into an island that was supposed to have some decent enough people there. Those people clearly did not know Sakura one bit but that was part of why she needed to have a moment first.

“What did you call me exactly? Did you, actually know I am? As in legitimately know my name?” Sakura was practically bashful, scuffing the ground at the likely unintended compliment but that’s what made it special! “Do you know how long I’ve been travelling around the Grand Line, constantly running into people who had NO IDEA who I am?! It’s like I didn’t punt a cyborg enforcer through a clock tower, or beat up that nutty usurper, or take down that Switcher candidate! I mean, I’m a bloody supernova in threat! Everyone knows the pirates with over 100 mil bounty but me? No one ever remembers me!”

This was probably a first for this group, having a bounty hunter be legitimately happy about something they said. Especially when it involved threatening her but on some things, Sakura’s standards were quite low and recognition seemed like it was going to be one of them. “But all of you came out in full force just because you heard I was here! I mean, I’m going to kick all of your butts because you guys are kind of mediocre but hey, I appreciate the whole taking me seriously thing and just for that, I’m going to take you on properly instead of monkeying around the whole fight.”

Honestly Sakura didn’t know why they were bothering with threatening her off when the very fact that she came here meant that she didn’t care one bit. They all felt confident enough – she’d fix that soon enough – but Ice boy junior in particular felt…calculating. That and very wary, more than he had any right to be, especially since he kept getting a bit more nervous as her thoughts drifted to pummelling them. Interesting, there was something there, something involving another haki user and an explanation for how they thought that they might win this fight. Most definitely something interesting.

“So! Take your best shot, it would be sad –“

The spray of bullets and what appeared to be some kind of ice beam crazy shot through where she was – and that ice beam shot through where she was a bit later, most definitely something fun going on there – but while that Benson fellow could follow her (for all the good it did given how the beam just flaked off of her coat courtesy of a hardened inner lining) the same couldn’t be said about his minions, or they might have managed to begin reacting before she ended up using one of the gun wielders as a shoulder rest. Hmm, looked like a machine gun, yep, that was a no go.

“If you all dropped too easily.” And she made sure to give them her best slasher smile. Some people needed the crutch of Conquerors to scare people; Sakura just needed herself. Her shoulder rest was especially frozen up but that might have more to do with how she might have gone stab happy on his back for that time it took for them to notice her.

Far, far too slow to be trying to play with her like this.

Benson scoffed at Sakura’s brief ego trip, how could a woman with such a childish personality rise to the rank she was at now. The world was just fill of freaks dead set on being famous it would seem. Still he was in charge here and he needed to out this mad cat down before she tarnished the Reputation of Izuru any longer. Their boss may have lost the rank of Shichibukai, but he was still one of the most experienced and dangerous pirates on the seas damn it. Rowe Rowe was his turf, and come hell or high waters Izuru’s men were going to defend the boss’s turf to the last man.

One of his men let loose a spray of bullets, wanting to shut the loud mouthed bitch up once and for all. Benson added a pot shot as well, a low powered setting to give her some more incentive to move, but with his keen instincts he knew what was about to happen to the man. Just a split second before Sakura vanished he fired a shot straight into the air. The bolts of icy liquid solidified and formed a large icicle that shot downward at Sakura where she had stopped to stab at his subordinates back. The man grunted in pain and stumbled forward awkwardly, the Kevlar lining of his suit proving just strong enough to stop the nails from piercing, though he was going to be feeling that in the morning for sure. He rolled to his feet a few yards away and panted for breath as he aimed his machine gun at her. She was fucking fast, though Benson had seen through her movements and placed an massive ice spike to fly down and aim to impale her right then and there.

You’re on our turf now, don’t get cocky.” Benson warned gesturing to the ground which was now covered in a wide layer of extremely slippery ice. He had found the time to fire a blast at the ground when Sakura was dealing with the ice spike, now just finding stable footing for her would be tough. Benson and his men however were not only used to the ice, but their shoes had been especially equipped to grip into the ice. They weren’t Izuru’s men for nothing. Two of them lashed out with a sword swing, cutting the very air and sending out a dangerously sharp Rankyaku wave. Following behind the wave was another wearing a boxing glove that seemed to have a strange device attached to it. He thrust his fist forward at blinding speeds, electricity coiling around his fist from the device and aiming to shock the woman in addition to the fast strike. The last of Bensons honor guard was wielding a massive pair of shields, one in each arm. He had circled around the woman, shields raised and ready to block any attack from virtually any angle, and even reflect it back towards her if she tried to attack him while he moved to shoulder charge her from behind.

While all this was Happening Yuri smiled, her eyes capturing the details at a distance and recording both Sakura’s and the guards movements. The data she was receiving was quite valuable. Once she had enough to fully comprehend their abilities she would strike, swiftly from range and without fear of reprisal. That was how she liked to fight, by eliminating any potential threats whatsoever. She went over the information she had collected.

Subject Sakura Sakisorou: possess what appears to be a high quality armor coat, along with built in claw based weapons, according to reports stolen from Marine Intelligence briefings she employs sea stone as a weapon likely her claws are made of the substance will have to watch out for that. Masterful use of the Soru 6 powers ability. Current speed and use of said technique is beyond my capabilities. Pattern appears to be using said abilities to ‘jump’ in front of behind adversaries, using it to startle and unbalance. Prognosis, assume attacks will come from directly in front or behind and react preemptively. Calculating approximate range per use… impressive distance, it will be difficult. Vertical evasion preferred option. Subject does possess mastery over Geppou air walking techniques as per previous observation, however in an aerial battle I would have the natural advantage as her focus would be split between combat and maintaining the walk.” Yuri commented to herself, recording her observations and the data to her digital memory for future playback and review.

Subject Benson: unofficial leader of Rowe Rowe Islands security forces while Izuru is away. Noted for having reaction time equal to or greater than Subjects Sakura’s Soru technique. Based on observation and detailed playback his reaction preempted Sakura’s movement, implies he possesses skill in Observation haki. Appears to be a ranged fighter, specializing in environmental manipulation, skilled in tactics. Will have to watch out for him, chances of survival via direct contact confrontation… 68%, just below acceptable standards. Chances of success via long ranged assassination… 74%. Not a huge increase, his ranged capabilities may surpass mine and his observation powers would allow him to react far faster than a normal human would to my sneak attack. Not to self, must find way to shield myself from mental probing, Observation abilities proving to be a substantial roadblock to my success. However when taking into account damage he will likely take in the fight against Sakura, it should prove no issue for me to eliminate him along with her.” Yuri added, creating a new file and for Benson and detailing all the information she was observing about him.

Subject group, Bensons honor guard, aside from general fighting abilities they lack any exceptional powers aside from rudimentary knowledge of the 6 forms martial arts and notably advanced physical abilities, likely due to training. Given the nature of my Cybernetic body and abilities chances of success via direct confrontation… 95%. It is doubtful any further analysis on their abilities is necessary unless new information comes to light. They pose no threat to me.” Yuri added filing away the information on Benson’s men in her mind as a tertiary threat at best. With her initial analysis of the date complete she poured herself another cup of tea, sadly it had gone cold in the islands thematically chilly weather. She took a short breath and blew on the surface of the rich brown liquid, steam quickly heating the cup to just below a boil. She inhaled deeply the refreshing and relaxing aroma of the tasty and enriching beverage.

How wonderful, there is nothing quite like a hot cup of tea on a cold day. Now then, Miss Sakura, Mr. Benson, please continue to adequately entertain me.” Yuri cheerfully exclaimed to herself taking another sip from her cup of tea and watching the brawl below. There was little doubt in her mind Sakura would be victorious, however given the number and nature of her opponents she’d no doubt take damage, and wear herself out. When that happened, she’d be little more than a fly that had fallen into her web.

For all that Sakura was seemingly not taking them with any manner of seriousness, she was at least paying some attention to them. Not all that much just yet, but they did deserve some for not being all bleeding out and stuff right now. So far she had already gotten some interesting info from them; for starters, at least one of them was wearing some durable armour, from the feel of it when she poked the guy, it felt somewhere around steel level? She could work with steel. Assume that the others had some kind similar protection and scale up hits to suit, fair enough, she’d just have to not play so nice. Or aim for the unarmoured portions, that was a thing too but she’d decide as she went along, not something that needed that much thought.

Much like the giant ice spike falling down towards her, and how did that guy shoot it so fast anyway? She hadn’t even stopped yet! Clearly, someone was a cheating cheater who cheats. Well it wasn’t as if Sakura played fair either, for example, why bother dodging the ice block when she could just step forward a bit and nudge it from the side just so, the shift in direction making the ice spike bounce off target and roll towards that guy with the tower shields to keep him occupied for a bit. Ah, now what else did they have? Ooh, staggered blows, clearly they didn’t want her just super speed running out of the way of everything they tossed at her. Right, raise intelligence levels slightly. Oh, and the frozen ground, well that made her ice rolling pin roll all the faster but now she had to deal with sliding everywhere.

“Hey, you gave me an ice rink? Nice!” Should she care? She probably should but honestly if these clowns thought that an icy floor would stop her, she might need to notch some intelligence point off again. She skidded forward, seemingly not having any real issue keeping herself stable mostly because much like she could tell that their boots were made to walk on ice, she had a better sense of balance and being fully capable of just skating instead of running. She leaned all the way back, her head nearly touching the ice behind her and letting the two cutting waves fly over her, where she got to see her ice log flying right back at her just before it got diced to pieces by said shockwaves!

Well, well, that was unexpected and most interesting. What did that shield guy do? Well whatever it was, he was rushing at her faster than she could skate forward – hmm, maybe that ice was going to be a problem after all. Welp, time to step it up just a bit. Sakura’s motion suddenly came to a total halt, her upper body springing back up like one of those bobbing punching doll things now that her legs were literally glued to the ice – why these people thought that they were the only ones who could cheat, Sakura had no idea – and from the look of Mr lightning hands, Vanilla Ice was the only haki user –

“Ooh, that’s a good one, Vanilla Ice! Because you’re like a vanilla wannabe Izuru!”
Sakura happily talked on even when fisticuffs punched her at ridiculous speeds in the chest, probably realising quite rightly that if he aimed for her head, Sakura would just tilt out of the way. Too bad for him that for all the lightning and bullet speed punching, it was like punching a mass of super metal that also didn’t conduct given how Sakura only moved back a little. Would he realise that Sakura moving back was weird if she’d managed to stop herself before he – nope, he got stomped in the chest first. Ah well. “Bye Mr Lightning Hands!”

Unlike the bullet punch, her own kick actually did send her skidding back mostly because she’d unstuck herself from the ice, using the momentum to spin around and roundhouse kick the shield guy right across a shield apparently. Now Sakura expected him to get pushed back, maybe he’d stand up to her since she wasn’t trying that hard, but she didn’t expect to get pushed away herself and had to use her hand to turn a potential tumble into a one handed flip – good thing she had claws or doing that on slippery ice might have been messy. Buut, since it wasn’t, she did another one to shift herself to be able to see all of them.

“Heeey, what was that?! That felt cheatier than Vanilla Ice trying to predict me all the time. By the way, where did you get the boots? Might borrow a pair when I’m done with you guys.” Always good to remind people that they weren’t as clever as they thought they were, especially when they had silly thoughts like actually being able to win this little scramble. Hmm, should she mention that outside of Benson, none of them had enough sheer force to actually make her have to dodge instead of bullrushing through everything? Nah, let them find that out when it was the most fun for her.

Benson paid the bounty Hunters rambling no mind; she could call him whatever she wanted so long as she died in the end. His men were keeping on the offensive, settling back and covering each other like they were supposed to and trained to when one of them was injured. The machine gun toting Honor Guard had already started to catch his second wind while the others went on the offensive. He stood up, easily bracing an balancing himself on the ice he was so familiar with, and leveled his machine gun. He’d have to use a higher end tactic this time. He flashed his comrades a look and they shared it with a glance.

Rang!” The swordsman called out, slashing the air and sending a Rankyaku wave at Sakura, mostly to get her to either dodge or block it. The Gunner lined up the muzzle of his assault rifle and began to fire a full power barrage at Sakura, again even if he missed it was irrelevant, as it was just a ploy for his comrade the shield bearer to get into position and reflect the bullets at Sakura’s back, adding his own force to them as well. Benson aimed into the sky and fired off a hail of ice spikes that fell around Sakura. Not hitting her but aiming to box her in and obscure her vision.

Let’s see you get out of this, Ice Cage Hell!” Benson shouted. The result of those 3 attacks combining created a large maze of ice spikes, filled with bullets ricocheting around wildly inside with increased force and unpredictability. The very Ice walls themselves have a reflecting effect to them, which caused the bullets to pinball around and aim to hit Sakura from all angles. Benson leveled his rifle at the Icy house and fired off one final shot after all the bullets had been bouncing around in there for a bit.

Crystal Tomb!” He roared as the pulsing beam of frozen particles hit the maze of ice and caused massive ice spikes and spires to blast out of it in every direction, filling every nook and cranny with creeping jagged ice. Even if it were Sakura she’d be in trouble if that hit her as the ice either impaled or encased her in a Medium Range Area. Benson and his men got some distance from the growing ice tomb and lined up again, they were panting, a bit winded from throwing out so many big attacks so quickly.

Meanwhile Yuri watched with just a bit of awe. Their teamwork was fairly impressive. Had it been her she might have been slightly worried, though ice was naturally a poor choice against her. She sipped her tea, feeling the chill from the newly formed frozen kingdom even from here.

Ohhh, quite impressive, still I doubt it will be enough if my estimations on Miss Sakisoru’s abilities are even remotely Accurate. However even she must be feeling something from that and besides I wonder if she’s realized the true terror of Benson and his men by now. I’m glad I’m not down there, it looks rather cold~” Yuri exclaimed gleefully updating her internal database with the information gleaned from Benson and his men’s attacks as well as Sakura’s evasive and counter attacks. While that Ice Maze may have enclosed the entire are in vision obscuring Ice Yuri’s X-Ray Eye was more than enough to pierce its veil and clearly see all f Sakura’s movements inside. She was getting some valuable data, and according to her calculations it would be soon time to go make her move. She just had a few more contingencies left to put in place.

Okay, there was clearly a bit of a strategy shift going on here involving none of them being stupid enough to get into close range with her after she sent that punch a mook sprawling. Fair enough, it wasn’t as if she needed them to come to her, she’d just go to them. Plan in mind, Sakura make her way forward, absently backhanding away the shockwave with a blackened hand while skating forward. The bullets she didn’t bother much with, just ducking low and letting the spray pass over her, it wasn’t as if she was concerned about a few shots trying and failing to get past her clothing.

Now the way the swordsman in front of her kept adjusting his position, that one was far more telling and Sakura shifted to the side with him, not at all surprised at the spray of bullets bouncing back where she was. She was going to have to do something about that shield guy, he was getting annoying now with all the bouncing from odd angles and she was supposed to be the bouncy one! Oh yeah, it was time for the pain to start up and her spirit was quite aligned with her as she leaped forward, claws ready to rend – and got blocked off by one of those ice spikes. “Hey Vanilla Ice, wait your turn!” The ice got some scoring but otherwise was still intact, fine, she’d just punch it properly – “Hey!”

Ooh, so that was the idea, more bouncing bullets. Right then, Sakura wasn’t putting up with this nonsense; the best way to deal with random stuff like this was to just walk onwards at a steady pace, if the attack had no reason, it actually didn’t have very good chances at all of actually hitting her and it wasn’t as if a couple bullets of a swarm would do more than annoy her as she was. Getting out of this ice maze was actually the bigger issue here and she was sorely tempted to just level the block and be done with it, but while she was impatient, she wasn’t an idiot. Icy boy and company were obviously aiming for a death of a thousand cuts kind of deal and she wasn’t about to make it easier by overdoing things. Nope, the best way to manhandle the wannabe wolves was to just pace herself and play with them like the patient feline who waits for the prime opportunity to go for the kill.

Even if the bullets smacking into her hardened body were still annoying. At least each shot that met her was a shot that was no longer bouncing along the walls and making such a racket! Not so much of one though that she couldn’t hear the loud snapping and cracking of ice, the noise enough warning for Sakura to leap off the ground before a bunch of ice spikes ended up making things a bit more bothersome – she did not know if any of those people had the sheer force and skill to legitimately damage her and she wasn’t going to gamble on the one most likely to be able to do it.

Easier said than done granted given the rapidly spreading icy spike hell, the floors, the walls, and she was still in this stupidly large maze! And was it growing bigger! Okay, that is it! I can’t believe I’m getting pushed to this but the other options are a bit too much right now.

The ice tomb itself kept on growing, the sheer chill pulsing out but the loud cracking noises from within weren’t stopping either; in fact, they were getting louder and louder, the cause revealing itself soon after in a loud explosion of ice crystals and what appeared to be ludicrously long black claws stretching out, the hole in the ice and the flaking off frost telling a tale.

“Okay, I’ll admit that I might have underestimated you goons a bit; making me actually bother with breaking this out…it was supposed to be a kind of epic debut you know? But if this is what I have to work with….” More of the black hands twisted and slithered out, a pair walking on the ground and carrying one Sakura, sitting on what was now visible as her hair like a throne. The arms twisted around her, broken spikes of ice still in some of them, told the story; Sakura simply used her hardened hair as both shield and sword to smash her way through instead of bothering to dodge at all.

“Really though, congrats! You get to be the first people to actually see this one!” More of hair overflowed from her scalp like a black river, locks twisting into approximations of claws, pulsing with the kind of power that a fellow haki user wouldn’t be able to help but notice; Sakura wasn’t playing around anymore and the claws stretching from where she was to rend and tear at the group was going to make that obvious. “I think I’ll call it Shibari Strangle. Close enough to what I’m going to do to all of you for trying to turn me into a popsicle~ No, seriously, do you know how much it sucks getting all crushed? I mean, the pointy bits couldn't actually stab me but that does still hurt! And there's probably some medical stuff about not getting compressed and all and now I'm going to have to find a sauna or something to get thawed out and I swear, if you gave me hypothermia I'm sticking you in a freezer! This is the kind of thing having a giant plushie pony is good for.”

For all of her complaints about essentially near getting entombed, it should be noted that her hair was clearly perfectly fine to reach over and break someone, even if Sakura herself was stuck trying to get feeling back into her body. Well feeling besides the whole giant bruise thing - and it wasn't even the fun kind!

Benson and his men stood back, admiring the dome of jagged solid ice that would form Sakura Sakisoru’s tomb. It had been a short but harrowing fight, Benson was tired, he had pushed his reflexes and his wits to the limit to deal with her, but he and his men had come out on top with no casualties. He let loose a sigh of relief before his breath caught in his throat. Instead of vanish completely in the cold embrace of ice he felt her life force surge. She had survived, somehow…

“Men get back; we’ve going to need to bring in some heavier fire power.” Benson grumbled leveling his Cryo Rifle at the ice dome which was starting to creak and splinter. His men weren’t’ sure what he was talking about, but knew better than to question him as they retreated. The dome began to shatter, powerful blackened limbs of gargantuan scale bursting forth. Sakura climbed out of the icy prison, chilled and covered in shards of flaking ice but looking little worse for wear. At least to the other side. Benson could tell even she had felt that one. Perhaps that’s why his intuition was sending up red flags and warning signals.

“Yeah, felt that one didn’t ya. Goes to show you that you ain’t nearly as hot shit as you think you are. I’m a frickin snowflake compared ta the boss. He’d rip you in half with his bare hands without even needing ta resort to his powers. Young bloods like you should learn your place.” Benson taunted, stalling for time as his men backed away. The swordsman, boxer, and the gunner finally turned and ran, off to follow the boss’s orders, though the shield bearer remained to act as the bosses shield.

“Sorry boss, ain’t lettin ya take on this monster bitch alone.” He chuckled readying his shields. The limbs burst forwards and in a flurry of deft movements the shield bearer batted them aside. He could feel his arms throbbing from the recoil, he focused primarily on deflecting the limbs, rather than sending them back, meaning he was able to get out just enough of a defensive position to bat them away and keep the boss safe while he caught his breath.

“Remind me to give you a raise when this is over chuck.” Benson laughed as he leveled his rifle and fired a blast at the ground. A massive wall of ice sprang up, forming both a shield and a means of obscuring her vision. It’d also freeze any hair caught in it in place pinning it down, though Sakura could still easily detach the hair and grow more. Most importantly it gave the duo a bit to get some distance and revaluate their tactics. Not to mention resting, besides by this point she would be feeling the real threat, hypothermia. In this world the cruel truth was people would always be weak. Even if a man could punch a mountain into dust, 2 weeks without food and he’d be starving to death, 2 days without water he’d be dying of thirst, 2 minutes without air and he’d be suffocating. Some things just couldn’t be ignored, and for Sakura who had been breathing in the frigid air as a result of Bensons Cryo Rifle she’d be feeling it for sure. Lungs contracting harder, reducing her breath and blood flow, which when mixed with the building fatigue of having to fight and exert herself would be having a more pronounced effect.

Yuri grinned as she captured the data, watching as Benson’s men left the fight to do something, perhaps they were simply fleeing for their lives, or Benson ordered them to realizing they’d die otherwise. Either way that left just Benson and one more to face down a now infuriated Sakura. Yuri grinned, it was going to be a blood bath, and she didn’t need haki to sense the blood lust from Sakura. She could practically taste the anger in the air. The rage and anger of others, their tears of suffering and fury, it was oh so delicious.

“Interesting… bio-feedback aka Life Return. It would seem she’s acquired several new abilities currently undocumented. Calculating reaction time… fast, as fast as her normal body, and it regrows quickly too and the range is impressive. Add to that it gains a significant boost thanks to her mastery of Armaments. Quite an amazing combination, however…” Yuri focused her eyes on Sakura, her X-Ray vision piercing her skin and muscle to look beneath. She could tell she had taken a few good hits in.

“Early stages of hypothermia, lung capacity reduced, bruising and hairline fractures, Benson and his group’s combination attack certainly pushed her, no wonder she’s going all out!” Yuri exclaimed excitedly, having acquired even more valuable data. It would seem the time was just about right; Benson and his men had been admirable pawns, rushing in and getting Sakura to play and lay out her cards on the table, chipping away at her and slowing her down. Granted now Benson and his men had scattered, she’d need to expand the blast radius in order to catch them too. While Benson’s men were of little threat killing them would ultimately prove to be beneficial to her goals. Yuri took special note of the movement of those hairy limbs.

“She seems to have adapted them for use as grappling and crushing. I’ll have to make a note of that if she survives.” Yuri added, commenting to herself. She deviated a bit of her computational processing power to calculating and creating a predictive movement model for her hairy tendrils. After several seconds of intense computation Yuri had devised a mental algorithm for calculating the undulations and movements of her hair limbs. According to her latest calculations she could successfully slip out of them using the algorithm with a predictive 85% rate, with a 5% margin of error. Yuri took another sip of tea and watched as Benson and his companion hid from Sakura to recover. They had managed to put some distance between them and her. They knew of her lateral movement, so they had wisely hidden out of sight beneath an awning fair distance from her that prevented line of sight from the air. Sakura would be forced to exert even more effort if she wanted to chase them down, or perhaps she would cut her loses and give up. Either outcome benefited her. If Sakura left then Yuri would be free to continue her rampage mostly unopposed. Benson would still pose an issue however she was already working on plans for him.

Benson and his goons ranting or whatever they were up to went in one ear and out the other, Sakura far more concerned with the stirrings of emotion that her annoyance was sparking. These clowns did manage to do enough to make her actually invest time into the fight and by her usual method of operation, that meant that she was going to jump into things full bore – Sakura did not do half measures after all, she was either not in the mood at all and lazing her way through, or she was going to have fun to the fullest and run wild.

These poor fools chose to push her and were going to learn just why they should not have done that. In fact, from what she was feeling from the Icy one, he was already realising that to some degree; for all his words, he couldn’t hide his feelings, not from her. Of course the very fact that they were backing away and he was ordering them off for some nonsense that she’d need to keep an eye out for was enough to make that obvious. Unfortunately the annoying shield one was still present and making a strong case for why Sakura was going to rip off his arms. Ah well, the more time they wasted, the closer she got.

Did she mention that she was running forward? Of course she was, she was actively getting mixed up now and that involved going on the offensive instead of letting these clowns get to act. Clearly these people were forgetting that they weren’t faster than her. Her hair wrapped around her body entirely, the black sheen absent as her thick strands rubbed feeling back into her body, her limbs looking like oversized claws thanks to the hair, making her resemble more of a crimson furred beast as she practically dashed forward on four limbs, the manic gleam of excitement on her face.

“Young bloods? What are you an old man?! Why in the blue seas would I take the advice of some rodent scurrying about even as he’s running his mouth? The very fact you can talk about having a place so easily, that you can casually accept being less than a gnat to someone else, is why you and I will never live in the same world!”

Far from the anger one would expect, her voice rung with budding excitement, genuine interest in the current events and a stark shift from her dismissive boredom. Sakura was still a bit annoyed, but far more than that, she was fired up, the thrill of a real fight, the bloodlust that fuelled her, she could actually feel her blood pumping harder, the adrenaline in her veins now and it was glorious! No wonder Blinkie picked this up, just feeling all of your cells in perfect agreement on a task was the kind of high that would get addictive very fast.

She saw the wall coming before Benson even started and her legs bulged thick with muscles and hair as she launched herself up at a diagonal, hair retracting then digging right back into the rising wall to shove her even higher and to the other side before it even got to full height, Sakura’s stride quite on the ridiculous side with how far her hair could reach.

“You’re a follower, the kind of person who needs to hide behind something to ever get things done; your gun, your mooks, your boss. You’ve opened up your spirit yet you’re still so blind!”
Two limbs shot ahead of the retreating pair and retracted, yanking Sakura along at high speeds and letting her overtake the pair. She knew that Benson was still reading her and that was what she wanted right now; she had a point to prove to this mouse.

“Power in numbers, if we get clever we can slow her down with the weather – those were your thoughts right? Besides the silliness in trying hypothermia against someone wearing a bunch of furs, you’re treating me like a normal person. You idiots would break under a bit of cold, but those of us who have the will to keep walking forward? You’re going to have to do better than that.” Sakura was not the kind of person who delved into monologues which was why as she talked, her hair was forming fists with fingers pointing forward, and then her hair became a blur. She knew the shield guy could barely fend off her hair by itself, how would he handle it when her hair was moving too fast to see properly? Benson though, he was the real target; that kind of ego on someone unwilling to back it up? That one needed a beating and Vanilla Ice also needed to learn how to really use observation. For example, not deciding what to do until the last moment. On top of using your own observation to counter it and bringing things back to base ability.

“Tell me, did you end up waking up your spirit due to someone scaring the life out of you? No way someone so weak willed got it the other way. I’m kind of curious and well, might as well get it while you can still talk.” It wasn’t as if those suits were going to stand up to the force she was bringing after all, and it wouldn't be much of a party if she didn't at least acknowledge them managing to get her excited about things by giving them some appreciation.

What was it about the best laid plans? Benson swore to himself as Sakura managed to zero in on him quicker than he thought. Of course much like the egotist she was she was doing plenty of talking. Which was fine for him, it gave him and his subordinate plenty of time to prepare, both mentally and physically. In addition his other men now had plenty of time to prepare the special surprise for Sakura. She could keep talking for all she wanted. Sakura unleashed a relentless assault of bullet speed finger pistols at the two of them. Chuck hadn’t dropped his guard from the start so he was able to fend off the blows, just barely. Benson however had slightly more options at his disposal.

Go ahead and talk all you want loudmouth, but at the end of the day, if you try to measure up to the big guns, the guys who REALLY run the show, that’s all you are, talk.” Benson quipped back as his body went loose and he began to sway and twist, fluttering like the piece of paper and evading the near constant barrage of attacks from all sides. He pushed his observation haki to the limit, fueling his speed and reflexes to the maximum, to the point where he could even evade her bullet speed strikes. All the while he continued to reply to her.

Yeah go ahead, call me a mook, a pawn, a glorified guard dog. The difference is that I’ve seen enough of the world to know that I can’t play upstairs. The New World was too much for me, and if this is the extent of your ability, it’s too much for you as well.” He spat back, slipping under another strike while Chuck’s stalwart guard deflected another blow. All the while Yuri watched on, she had gotten a bit more data, but sadly this looked to be as much as she could acquire. According to her internal computations, now was the ideal time to strike, when all parties were fully investing their focus on one another.

An impressive last stand, but ultimately futile. It would seem you’ve outlived your usefulness to me Benson. Rest easy knowing that it will all be over soon~” Yuri chuckled in a polite feminine tone as she stood up. She looked down at the scene far far away and smiled. They were so busy fighting they’d never see it come, especially not at this range. Well perhaps Benson might but he was so preoccupied with his evasive dodging that he could do nothing to stop it. Yuri smiled sweetly, a dim glow building beneath her eye patch.

Oh well, it has been fun, but now it’s time for you all to die~” Yuri sang as her eye built to a blinding glow in a second and then fired. A refractive surface in her crystalline light focusing lenses splitting the high powered laser beam into a deadly array of lethal lights. They reached their destination faster than anyone could possibly react to. Sakura and Benson would have with their observation less than a microsecond to react, and even then they weren’t the target. The glaring flaw of observation haki was that its predictive nature was tied to intent, and Benson and Sakura were so focused on each other they’d never seen the explosions until they were already upon them. Yuri wasn’t even aiming for them specifically, but the area around them. The prismatic bolts impacted and the world turned to hell, explosions rocked the city, spreading and fanning out in massive amounts of collateral damage. Yuri grinned like a maniac as she continued to fire, pouring her cybernetic fuel into the attack to maximize its lethal potential.

Eheheh HAHAHAA WAAGHAHAHA YES DIE, SUFFER, BURN!!!” She screamed to herself as the rain of lasers continued unabated for a full 20 – 30 seconds before she felt herself running dry. Finally she stopped; steam and smoke pouring from her eye socket and her eye patch flipping back down. She slumped over, spent and reveling in the euphoria that only death and destruction could give her. She gave a lust shudder, holding her arms and hugging herself.

Ohh baby, was it as good for you as it was for me?” She asked the city as she gazed upon the blackened craters and fallen rubble that littered an exceedingly wide area. It was like some sort of natural disaster had struck, which it had. Benson had no way to dodge the onslaught and had been bounced around in the explosion. Chuck, while able to hold his guard up, was unable to stop the fearsome blasts as well. His Shield couldn’t handle that much damage, and the large size of the explosion wrapped around everything. Though the two were still alive, after exhausting themselves on Sakura and taking a few hits that slipped by they were in no condition to move, let alone fight. As for Sakura…

Oh... she actually lived, though it would appear that she has taken a considerable amount of damage. Should I press my luck with another volley? No she likely will quickly regain her senses and triangulate my position. Best to pull back and ready a second salvo at a new location.” Yuri commented to herself as she shifted into a cloud of steam and rose high up into the air, suspended almost effortlessly above the destruction. She began to put distance between herself and the location she had fired from. When Sakura got there, by the time she recollected her senses, all she’d find was a fine porcelain tea cup, kettle, and a quite little spot where her fight and the destruction had been seen from. Meanwhile Yuri had flown into the air and away, stopping when she was once again a long range away. While remaining in her cloud like state it would be quite difficult for Sakura to differentiate Yuri’s steamy form from the clouds in the sky.

Now then miss Sakisorou, what will you do? Yuri thought to herself, forming enough of her head to watch the girl and see what her next course of action might be. This was what she calculated, to be the ideal location for a fight. Yuri didn’t need to expend energy to maintain her flight, while Sakura would be forced to balance that sky walking 6 powers technique and he offensive repertoire. In order to even touch her she’d need to invest even more mental strength into maintaining her haki, and Yuri had plenty of other defenses she’d need to chew through before she could even start taking damage. Couple that with the damage Sakura had already taken and the fatigue by this point starting to slow her down, and her odds were climbing.

Chances of success via direct confrontation… 72%. Chances of success via Ranged assault… 84%. Chances of success via subsequent long ranged assassination… 94%. Miss Sakura I do believe the odds are slipping ever out of your favor. The death of an up and coming bounty hunter such as yourself is sure to stir the pot. Even with the threat looming of the Bright Eye’s war this world has grown stale, stagnant. Someone needs to shake things up" Yuri thought to herself as she mentally reran the numbers for her success against the bounty hunter. While she may have been no match for her in an outright straight up confrontation, by utilizing every resource available to her, and waiting for the right moment to strike, she had not only leveled the playing field, but given herself an edge on her adversary.

The tides of battle had shifted quite drastically in the moment that Sakura had stopped monkeying around quite so much; she had to add that bit in since if she really wanted to end this now she could have just flicked one of wider reaching attacks at the clown instead of going with the finger jam, but it was still quite inevitable at this rate just how things were going to end.

“Mhm, keep on talking second string, your words miiight have slightly more meaning if you weren’t running yourself ragged just to stay alive right now. You do realise that I haven’t really been exerting myself right? Sure I’ve been putting in effort, but I can keep this up all day. You on the other hand, how many more of these bursts of energy do you have in you, two maybe? You’re slowing down so much faster than I am, and when your normalcy catches up to you, poof! Then you die.”

Looking back on things a bit, that might have been a bad choice of words given that the world became a bunch of light and explosions and what the hell that hurt. The first blast tossed all three of them away and did a number on Sakura’s hair, mostly all the singing in the locks but clearly it wasn’t quite that overwhelmingly strong if she still had hair; she knew adding that haki coating was a good idea! This didn’t help with the whole getting roasted thing again though – honestly, what was it with her and attracting stuff that would end up leaving her well cooked? Granted, she certainly didn’t have to worry about hypothermia now…..

By the time the what was probably a lazer barrage ended, the city was in shambles and Sakura was slightly jealous that someone beat her to smashing up the island. She was also moderately singed but all the charred blackness wasn’t as bad as it looked! No really, most of it faded away because Sakura was competent and just coated her entire body again, unlike the eternal minion who was actually quite blackened and smoking.

“Hmm, so how are things going for you now Benson? Bet you wished you didn’t get cold feet and give up upon getting some kind of challenge in the New World huh? Maybe you’d have learned enough there if you stuck around to walk off the lights of pain and breaking stuff.” And just to prove her point, she had her hair pick her up for her to lounge in it like a fuzzy throne. It totally wasn’t because she needed to recover a bit and hair didn’t have any muscles or pain receptors or anything that was being all burning and charred right now. On that note a limb tapped her back to bring up a bit of blood and ash and stuff that got lodged down the wrong hole.

“Right, so while you stay here and die like a normal person, I’m going to go play with the clearly more interesting one. Maybe the marines will put you back together when they scrape you off the ground. Maybe you’ll realise that you’re projecting your bitterness about not being to hack it with the big boys on everyone who might overtake you and prove you wrong. Who knows? Find out next time, or maybe not; it’s not as if any story is going to follow a quitter.”

During all of this, a couple of Sakura’s hair limbs were extending outwards to find a not completely destroyed something to grab hold off. It was pretty obvious looking the blast patterns where the shots came from, and the fact that it was one of the few areas not blown up right now made it slightly easier to figure out. A couple more hair claws slammed into the ground for bracing, accidentally on purpose slamming into the chests of Benson and shield guy. Hey, she did say that no one cared about the quitters. With a shove and probably a couple of crushed chests, Sakura threw herself forwards, doing a demented hair spiderman stunt to the top of the most likely building.

Then she jumped to the building next to it because that one was empty.

Now this one was a bit more likely given the whole tea set and all. “What the hell, did I get sniped by an upper class twit or something? That’s just embarrassing. No seriously, you don’t just shoot me to declare a game of hide and seek – wait no, that’s actually a bloody awesome way to start a game of hide and seek, carry on. Did I get that right? Since we’re doing the whole faux nobility thing apparently.”

Now there was the problem of finding her sniper in the midst, wherever she was, it was out of her effective range and who knew where she’d gotten off to in the time it took Sakura to get over here. There was nothing here but clouds and people who were far too weak to be able to actually wield that level of destructive force and get out of dodge so fast.

“Now I’m remembering why I don’t play this game often….”
With nothing to do she hopped from building to building, hair limbs letting her swing high and low as she did her sweep of the area – although she was reasonably sure that she’d have to wait until her sniper tried for another shot to get a better idea of where to go.

Yuri continued to watch Sakura from above and afar. As she had calculated the woman’s effective range of detection was insufficient to her current location, as a result she was forced to hop around from building to building in a vain attempt to uncover her would be assassin. A sly grin crept across her face as the steamy cloud began to reform itself into Yuri. Sakura was clearly injured; the multiple fractures and internal lacerations she could see with her X-Ray eye told her that. All she needed was a few more good hits and she’d be at her limit. She quickly crunched the numbers on the successive attack, and came to the conclusion that with her current fuel reserves she could afford another 4 discharges like the one before.

Alright, switching to maximum spread, calculating range and location via trajectory and patterns of movement and…” Yuri’s body finished forming and waiting till Sakura had just touched down in another area that had been mostly untouched y the earlier blasts. The townspeople were reeling, first there was the fight between the local guard and the infamous bounty hunter Sakura Sakisorou, then suddenly it looks like the Marines had just dropped a buster call out of nowhere and leveled several city blocks. A twinkling pink ray of light dropped down at Sakura’s feet at the speed of light and enveloped everything in another blinding explosion. The difference being that instead of a barrage of large blasts, this was a single immensely powerful explosion, large enough that nearly a mile was engulfed in the blast radius.

The people didn’t have long to scream as their flesh was turned to ash and the air in their lungs ignited from the sudden increase of heat and light particles. Yuri smiled; she could hear the sirens and the wailing of the people in the distance down below. As she suspected while she managed to catch Sakura in the blast, the woman was as infuriatingly hard to kill as ever. Still while it was not quite as hard as her last shot at the woman she still would have done a good it more of damage, and at this point the consecutive hits and their toll were becoming increasingly obvious on the woman. She crunched the numbers yet again, but this time realized that her odds of success via a direct confrontation had increased to the point where it was a valid tactic. Besides that she had attacked from afar and below, Sakura would now likely have enough data herself with her current tactics and begin to figure ways around them, that and she was running out of city to effectively level.

Unlike before Yuri didn’t bother to hide, floating to hover above ground level just within range of where Sakura landed and where her observation could reach. Smoke and fire was roaring and filling the sky the smoldering ruins of the once tranquil and profitably amusement park reduced to a crater of smoldering slag and ash.

Pardon me Miss Sakisorou; I hope my introductions weren’t TOO harsh. But given how famous you are I wanted to make a good impression on you. You made a lovely puppet and test subject, fighting with Benson and his men so I wouldn’t have to deal with him, all the while you were wearing each other down. Of course there was never any doubt you’d best him, it was merely a matter of when and how much he’d wear you out. It was quite funny to see you all floundering and fighting about haplessly hehehe~” Yuri greeted in a polite and jovial tone with an effeminate giggle. She performed a cute little half bow in the air at the prone rubble covered form of Sakura below.

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Yuri, and I am here to kill you and cause just a teeny bit of mischief and mayhem. Well I have the mayhem part of my duties fulfilled; I suppose all that’s left is to rend the flesh from your bones. I know you’re tired and I can see that you have quite a few fractures, rips, and tears inside of you but maybe if it’s not too much trouble could you play a bit longer? It’s no fun when they don’t struggle you know~” Yuri said with another polite giggle as she floated closer towards the woman and then tucked herself into a ball in mid air before spreading her arms and legs wide. This was accompanied with another severe blast of steam which exploded outward in every direction, burning anyone unfortunate to get caught in the sizable blast radius, scattering and blowing away rubble and ruins, and filling the air with vision obscuring thick steam. Yuri flew back into the air above the medium sized steam cloud and used her X-Ray eye to peer through the dense heated steam.

let’s see, eenie meenie minie moe, catch a tigress by the toe, if she hollers slit her throat, eenie meenie minie moe~” Yuri sang to herself as she quickly saw through the rubble and awaited Sakura’s counter attack, provided she could still move.

Sakura had already known that she was going to have to wait for her sniper to make another move to find them barring any blatant mistakes, so when she saw the glint of light again in her peripheral vision she instinctively stuck her hair between her and the incoming blast, wrapping herself into a fuzzy cocoon. Of course the explosion ended up taking out another chunk of the town, the force of the explosion sending her ball bouncing away a bit. Just a bit, Sakura wasn’t in the mood for a tumble and promptly gripped the ground as soon as she touched down again, popping the top off one of the many random odds and ends she kept in her jacket and taking a shot of gin.

It didn’t take a genius to realise that a bunch of other people just got themselves flash roasted yet again from that stunt and once again, Sakura needed to regrow some of her hair to replace the singed strands. “Huh, that was a bit weaker than the last one. Come now, don’t tell me that you’re running out of juice so soon? You aren’t even fighting!” It was pretty damn obvious by this point that her sniper was in the sky, and given that all she could see was clouds, well experience dictated that she was dealing with yet another weird devil fruit. Those things were far too common for something supposedly rare.

At least her sniper wasn’t bothering to hide anymore for whatever reason, forming out of what looked like some kind of mist into a small blonde haired girl with a weird eye. “Well you certainly got my attention although you were a bit too enthusiastic for the rest of the audience. They’ve gone and gotten a terminal case of the dead and all. Nice to actually meet you though, the lasers were fun the first time but they really aren’t that hard to deal with once you know to actually keep an eye out for them.” Annoying to react too, but yeah, she was paying attention now.

“So you just wanted to cause some chaos huh? I can appreciate that but you know, if you want to properly appreciate randomness, you’ve got to get yourself mixed up too! Being an observer is just dull, clearly you need to experience the full spectrum of the chaos of battle and since you’ve gone and gotten me all hot and bothered, I’ll be happy to help you out!” Sakura wasn’t even being sarcastic or anything, she spoke with full jubilant earnestness as two hair limbs shot her up and above the mist – nope, that was definitely steam, steam dome. A steam logia fruit? Ooh, well this was going to be fun. Of course her hair got a steam bath but it could probably do with the cleaning and it wasn’t as if follicle damage was a concern when you could fix up your hair style on a thought.

Now what to do with the observer? That one didn’t even need a thought, as the sniper popped out of her dome, quite a few hair limbs descended on her form, spread out to cut off any escape even with steam twisting shenanigans and effectively blasting apart the steam with nary a care. And the ground. Unfortunately Yuri had done her job a bit too well and Sakura wasn’t exactly willing to play around when she’d already gotten tumbled about whole day. “Hey now, slitting my throat is bad. Do I need to give you a spanking? Because I’ve got lots and lots of hands for that. Well if you're still alive anyway.”

And more importantly, she had a lot of could bitchslap a logia limbs to keep that gothic lollita at ground level where she could reach her. She'd rather not have to go chasing a logia in the air, that was just a recipe for frustration.

Yuri smiled down at Sakura a she attempted to box her in with her spread of hands. Such a simple minded tactic. The fact that she was talking and attempting to lecture her about repetition was especially ironic. However alarms were going off in Yuri's computational processor. She snapped her fingers and unleash another, much higher level burst of steam in every direction. The omnidirectional wall of steam impacted Sakura's fists of hair, which seemed a lot stronger all of the sudden and began to punch through. Yuri was correct in blocking this way, her steam wall wasn't able to fully withstand the assault, with the portions coming towards her crumbling under the pressure, however it bought her enough time to form her Steam arms which could handle the rest. In addition given how close she was Sakura would get caught in the initial omnidirectional AoE burst, and as a result would quickly start to lose feelings in her legs. This would make it much much more difficult for her to evade her follow up attacks from the giant steam limbs about to drop like meteors on her, though her hair could still pull her along if she chose.

One such massive hand swung wide and scooped up Sakura's Hairy hands, easily corralling and containing them all given the sheer different in both volume and scale, not to mention the power was actually a bit higher as well thanks to a glowing from Yuri's steam empowering prism. For Sakura it would be nearly impossible for her to get the thread trapped in that medium area back, they were solid only when Yuri wanted and intangible otherwise, and unlike her body Sakura’s haki couldn’t actually capture the raw steam. It was like trying to grab the water, if the water was also alive and sentient and actively fighting you. And that one’s only one of the several medium area masses Yuri was forming. The rest loomed over Sakura and the entire area around them.

Oh my and here I thought you were just a pretty face, but you’re funny to. Honestly talking about repetition when you’ve been using the same tactics the entire time. I’ve already studied your moves, and even taking into account any additional tricks up your sleeve I have a good estimate of your full capabilities which I could extrapolate based on gathered data and trending analysis.” Yuri resp0nd slamming a few of her medium AoE steam limbs down where Sakura was. Event with her Soru there was little to no way she could avoid them all given both their number and scale.

Besides…” Yuri giggled flexing one of her steam hands before slamming it back down on Sakura. Sakura would find that not only was its pressure and power equal to her haki, it was far more difficult, if not impossible to block with her hair. The steam would become thin and vaporous and slip between each individual hair before resolidifying and smashing into Sakura, or else just lingering around her face forcing her to either hold her breath or inhale the burning steam.

Mine are bigger than yours~” She added cutely before sweeping a hand across in 60 degrees around her, smashing and swatting Sakura and anything else around her in a violent display or raw might. The sheer heat she was putting off would also be making it difficult for Sakura to see anything clearly, making the world woozy and hazy as the beginnings of heat stroke set into her, once again as much by tangential exposure to the steam as it was her actively having it breath in the burning gas. Yuri continued to hum pleasantly, just one of her medium area hair limbs was enough to contain Sakura’s hair, enveloping and binding any new growths that attempted to form. What’s worse is they were holding her by the hair tightly; her movement was limited as long as she kept her current mass of hair active. She would have to abandon it and recast it if she wanted to have her freedom of movement back.

Ultimately you’re going to lose this fight miss Sakisorou. It would be easier on yourself if you just gave up. I’d suggest suicide, after all, once I get MY hands on you, oh the things I will do. You have such lovely skin; I wonder if I peel it off and turn it into a nice coat would your armaments hardening remain intact and active? Ohhh that sounds like a fun experiment. Be sure not to disappoint me now~” Yuri sang unleashing another sweep of her multitude of hands at Sakura. With how large her hands were, and how Sakura had set herself up to be caught by the hair, things like speed and accuracy were utterly irrelevant, she was dropping building sized steam limbs on her like they were going out of style. And the more Sakura attempted to block with her haki, the more damage she’d end up taking, from the power breaking through or through breathing it in. She wouldn’t even be able to locate Yuri without expending even more focus on using her Observation Haki. She was going to have to change tactics fast or SHE WAS GOING TO LOSE THIS FIGHT.
