Account Name: Fantro

Basic Character Information
Name: Damian Ayrton

Nickname: His close friends sometimes refer to him as Ayr (pronounced “Air)

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Affiliation: Marine

Rank (Commendations): 0

Achievements:None at the moment.

Position: Petty Officer

Profession:

Weapon Specialist
A much more general fighter-type profession, a Weapon Specialist is someone who has to a large or small degree devoted his/her life to the mastery of a single weapon or weapon type, such as Swords, Axes or Whips. This profession applies generally to melee weapons. Characters with this profession have access to certain additional traits and may create "Stance" techniques.

Smith
A Smith is a man or woman who makes weapons and tools out of metal. Generally swords, since they fetch the best price, but it is in no way limited to this. Making cannons and parts for inventors is also part of their business, and they also get good knowledge within metallurgy which allows them to make custom materials or mix new ones together.

Physical Appearance
Height: 162cm (5'9)

Weight: 114.7 lb

Hair: Some would say that atop Damian's head lies a nests for seabirds. Although this is, of course, an exaggeration, it does resemble a nest. Damian believes that appearance is not something to spend too much time dwelling on and allows his hair to naturally grow out. He rarely tampers with his hair and if he ever does, it's at most a few gentle strokes with a comb. Damian's hair is not too long, but not considered short either. Due to him only consulting a barber every couple of months, two strands of hair located near and on both sides of his face have grown exceptionally longer than the rest of his hair. Several strands of hair also tend to grow outwards and away from his head and have a "droopy" look to them. Damian's hair color is black.

Eyes: His eyes are light blue and under certain circumstances (due to tricks of light), they can appear to be glowing.

Clothing/Accessories: Although Damian does not care very much about the appearance of his hair, he does take into consideration every smudge and tear on his clothes or uniform. He believes that a soldier's uniform can tell you a lot about their personality. As a "petty officer," he wears a standard white marine vest. His apparel also includes the standard marine hat and tie. While on duty, Damian avoids carrying too many accessories with him, but he does always keep his trusty katana by his side. He also wears the standard blue jeans and Marine footwear.

Fun fact about Damian: Sometimes when he's alone, he likes to wear his marine cap backwards and pretend that he's a vice admiral, controlling a huge fleet of marine ships into battle against a pirate army!

General Appearance: At a first glance, Damian may seem like the quiet, insecure type. He keeps his head down while on duty and often avoids communication with fellow marines, only speaking when needed. His posture is almost always perfect, whether he is attending a celebratory feast or patrolling the decks of the ship. Although he can be well secluded at times, people can always tell how he is feeling from his facial expressions. His mouth is usually turned upside down in a small frown but occasionally, under the right circumstances, he can break down into uncontrollable laughter or have a huge grin on his face. His skin is quite pal due to Damian usually spending his time inside the cabin of the ship. He originally had quite tanned skin but ever since he was recruited by the Marines, the golden tanned color began to fade away. Unlike other Marine officers, Damian has the build of a relatively skinny teenage boy. His legs and arms are quite skinny but muscle is still noticeable (due to the years of working as a servant/slave for the pirate crew and bandits). His chest is relatively flat and doesn't protrude much out of his body. If somebody were to describe Damian's build in two words, it would be slightly-built; someone who is slightly-built is thin, not overly tall in height, and does not look very strong.

Quote from a fellow officer: Damian, I can't tell whether you'll enjoy my joke or stare at me with a blank expression...Ah well! I'll tell it to you anyways!

Damian

The Character
Personality: To an extent, Damian is an anti-social person. He rarely speaks and when he does, it seems as if he's forcing the words to come out. He's often considered the "outsider" and he finds it hard to fit in with other people. Although he often keeps to himself, if his or somebody else's honor is tarnished and embarrassed, he will take action. During intense fights (whether it be with pirates or other crew mates), he often releases all of his bottled up emotions with a barrage of fists (and sometimes ferocious hacking with his katana). This is the case when he around people that he dislikes or do not know very well. When he is in the presence of his nakama, things are completely different. He is more open, socially active, and even happy to throw in a joke or two into the conversation. Damian greatly cherishes his time with his nakama.

Hometown: Syrup Village, Gecko Islands (East Blue)

History: Damian was born in a quiet, peaceful village named Syrup village. Life was difficult yet enjoyable. Damian often looks back during his time spent at the rural village and wonders if leaving to join the marines was the right choice. His parents, Evelynn and Marcus Ayrton, were both caring and gentle adults. Marcus was a smith at the local forge and Evelynn worked as a bartender at the town pub. Each one of them always seemed to have a smile on their face and lived life to the fullest.

At the age of 6, Damian was recognized as a child prodigy in the town and his father, Marcus, oversaw his development as a smith. At the forge, he learned how to heat metal, bend the metal, and other various techniques. Although Damian spent most of his time in the forge working alongside his father, he also had several hobbies that he would often use as a way to unwind at the end of a long day. He loved collecting sea shells by the shore, playing “pirates and marines” with other children in the town, and reading books filled with crazy adventures, evil antagonists, and terrifying monsters.

Sigh. “Even the best of things will eventually come to an end.”

It was a cloudless night when all hell broke loose. The young boy woke up to the sound of loud footsteps outside of his house. His ears immediately perked up as he leaned the side of his head against the wooden wall to try to tell what exactly was going on. After a few moments of listening to the repetitive rumbling of footsteps, he decided to take a peek out of the small circular window located beside his bed. At first, he couldn’t believe what he saw, so he rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times to make sure that he wasn’t dreaming. Although all of his instincts told him to hide back underneath into his covers, his body wouldn’t budge. He could only watch as the mob of bandits marched down the gravel path, silently entering homes along the way and exiting with huge bags of what appeared to be jewelry, belongings, and anything that could be sold. Finally, after what seemed like eternity, his body returned to his control. He immediately leaped off of his bed and rushed into the hallway only to stop abruptly. The man currently ransacking the kitchen turned around to see a frail, little boy quivering at his feet. Damian immediately turned around and tried to escape but soon noticed his legs were kicking at the air and felt a large hairy hand clasped on his shirt collar. A moment later, everything became pitch black as a he was gagged had a bag shoved over his head. The last thing he remembers from that day was the sound of his mother screaming as she awoke to notice the intruders within their home.

In the following years, he worked as a slave for the bandits. His duties included fetching them food and water, cleaning their clothes, and polishing their weapons. Eventually, the bandits grew bored of him and decided to sell him as a human slave. A year after being placed on the market, he was purchased by a pirate crew going by the name of “The Cursed Pirates”. Their captain, “Morgan Joliano,” was a pirate that enforced discipline and order amongst his crew. After seeing the potential within Damian, he decided to personally train him in the basics of weapon usage during combat. To his amazement, Damian improved drastically in the following months. Morgan decided to celebrate his new disciple’s success with a huge feast. What the captain didn’t realize was that a Marine ship was currently scouting the area nearby for a different pirate crew that they were pursuing. Because of the party, the crew let their guard down and were ambushed by the Marines. All of the pirates were either captured or killed during the fight, except for Damian. The marines noticed that he was a slave to the pirates and gave him a chance of redemption: to join the Marines and enforce justice throughout the seas. Although Damian was saddened to be separated from his mentor, captain, and friend, he reluctantly agreed. As for Morgan, he died during the fight, but not without taking down several other Marines with him.

Abilities and Possessions
Combat: Damian prefers to avoid conflicts with others, but if he is backed into a corner or if something or someone he loves is threatened, he will show no mercy to the opponent. He is quite an aggressive fighter and often finds himself on the offensive.

If Weapon Specialist is your primary profession, take off the 2 last sentences of Smith as it wouldnt gain that bonus as a secondary.

Regular Tech Points are 16.

You're missing traits, if this is because you want to save them, put the 3 general in fated and the 1 professional in intraining. In any case please peruse our traits page.

The Katana should be noted as iron and only needs to be in Weaponry.

A vest, hat and tie are nice. But I would also advise wearing pants and shoes. :)

Please include his physique in General Appearance. Skin tone, build.

Good luck on your first character.

I see that you have 3x of the Fate of the Mighty trait. You need to mark it down to your Stats, as such:

Stamina: 17 (8+9 from Fated)

After you've edited that, this seems fine for flagging.

Would I have to remove 9 Stat Points from other Stats because I'm adding 9 to Stamina?

No. The 9 points you get from Fated are boosts - they do not count as Stat Points or SD. So you can just add them.
