Assassin

The Assassin profession gives stealth skills, the ability to move silently through areas without being detected. It also gives general poison knowledge. An Assassin generally has little actual combat experience, since their victims don't fight back, and as such don't fare that well in a true fight. Assassins are able to create poisons that debuff, and have access to stealth techniques. Additionally, they will be proficient in small weapons such as daggers or blow darts.

The Thief is a job closely related to the assassin. They both provide stealth capabilities, though a Thief gains lockpicking skills instead of poison knowledge, can generally know their way around the ways of barter and trade, and pickpocketing. Thieves don't have it hard to find 'underground info' in most cities, either.

Hair: Relatively short ginger hair that’s spoked backwards.
Eyes: Dark green.
Clothing/Accessories: James’s typical attire starts with bandages wrapped around his abdomen, reaching up to just below his pectoral muscles. Over the top of this he wears an open black long sleeved jacket that’s a very dark blue, appearing almost black.

His choice of colour continues onto his lower half, where he typically wears skinny jeans that are designed to give a good amount of flexibility for the wearer. Finally, he wears lo canvas shoes with no socks. The final part of his general attire is a bandana around his neck.
General Appearance: James has slightly tanned skin and a slim build, he doesn’t have a lot of muscle but he has enough not to look like overly thin. He has a relatively low degree of fat due to a strictly controlled diet from his family along with his ongoing training.

His face is quite youthful and generally clean shaven, rarely allowing stubble to grow. He is usually seen with a smile on his face, he enjoys his work and just being around people so it comes naturally. His eyes seem to be knowing and friendly most of the time, but when the times comes he is capable of appearing somewhat intimidating.

The Character
Personality: James is a generally polite young man, brought up without much in the way of socialising he can be a little shy when interacting with others. He finds it easier to avoid it when he can, but once a conversation has started he won’t try to escape as it’d be rude. Generally at least, if the conversation is embarrassing then he may well try to escape.

His nature is fairly gentle generally, he wouldn’t hurt a fly if it isn’t for a job and he isn’t under attack. He was always taught that you should never go hurt another unless you feel it is needed. He was however, taught that stealing is fine so long as the person isn’t poor, as is raiding an empty house if they are fairly well off.

Yet, when he is hunting a pirate his gentle nature takes a backseat. He won’t go for the kill but he will go in to try and ruthlessly disable the target, through whatever means he deems necessary to get the job done.

He loves researching poisons and new lock picking techniques, as well as developing his own. He sees it as an art form and greatly respects those at the forefront of the respective fields. He sees them like rock stars and A list celebrities and will show his fanboy side if he meets one.

Hometown: Red Line
History: James was born into a family of bounty hunters, they weren’t elite in their field, but they were they were efficient and skilled enough to have a good regular income with few injuries. Though the latter was more to do with them not taking jobs outside of their reach, or near their limit.

The conception of James was actually an accident during a drunken celebration. But whilst he wasn’t planned he was loved by his parents in their own way. His parents decided to decline jobs that would take them away from the base of the reverse mountain. Whilst one parent went on a job, the other looked after the baby James.

He grew up learning the craft of his parents and the unusual way they practised it. They spent a great deal of time learning about the art of killing, so they knew exactly what they could do which would fall sort of killing. It also made it easier to develop advanced poisons that could be quite devastating on sturdier opponents.

His parents were very cautious about bringing him along on jobs, he didn’t seem particularly talented at fighting and his body seemed rather unremarkable. They didn’t tell him this, but they knew he knew so throughout his early and mid-teens they just continued his education. It was when he turned 19 that he was allowed his freedom, he was told that he was provided with a ferry fare to a blues of his choice, a jitte, and his very own knife that doubled up as a comb. He wasn’t sure which to choose so he flipped a coin twice to decide, ending up with East Blue.


Abilities and Possessions
Combat: James’s combat style is generally focused on evasion, deflection and quick strikes rather than blocking and using heavy strikes. He’ll generally try to take down an opponent bit by bit rather than rushing a fight. He doesn’t go for kill shots generally, instead trying to weaken an enemy by any means necessary. Another key part of his combat style, is that he will try to utilize stealth and rarely staying in the same place, using the environment to his advantage when he can.

An iron folding knife that doubles up as a comb.
An iron jitte with a red handle.
Items: Five sturdy glass vials, a lock pick set.
This golden thread bag contains eight special treasures
- An exclusive limited edition 8,000,000 beli note which glows in the dark. Can be spent as normal currency or kept as a momento.
- A pair of extra sparkly sunglasses fashioned in the shape of the number 8. This attention demanding eye-wear can be used once to boost the fame reward earned in a future SL by 8%! Afterwards they lose their appeal.
- A Get Out of Impel Free card. This black and white piece is not official and every Impel Down jailer has seen one and knows they are not real. However, any other jailer or law enforcer may pause for a moment to consider the validity of the item, giving an opportunity to get away with a small crime.
- A rolled up poster requesting help to find a missing Admin. The 'Where is the Unspeakable?' poster is unable to state last known whereabouts but does apologise for an inability to hand out Eye rewards until he is found.
- An ancient dusty silver bracelet with the words Raftel inscribed on it several times. Characters in possession of this item have an 8% better chance of uncovering clues in the New World to find the lost island.
- A coupon from Bubbly Bill's Ship Coating offering a free ship coating on Sabaody. Bubbly Bill is able to offer a bubble coating in any color of the rainbow.
- Pink candy wrapped in a foil with the number 8 on it. When eaten, the candy brings out the inner potential of a character based on the following;
If 50 SD earned and below, the character gains 40SD!


- A stylish orange sweatshirt with the number 8 on front and back from Doskoi Panda. This item makes the wearer just a little more charismatic and more convincing when talking with mooks. However it is only fashionable on Autumn islands and has no effect when worn out of season.

During the struggle on the ship some of the wood chipped off! Gained from that were three pieces of wood that were oddly chipped into different shapes, for James and Aya the wood chips look like the number 2, however Uno for winning seems to have been blessed with his own name!

Escape Artist (1 Trait) – Being a wily little bugger, the thief is a master of escaping from tight spots and difficult situations. Any debuff to the thief's speed is halved in duration, and they can easily escape most forms of restraint, such as being grappled, shackled, tied, etc.

Two minor issues still need to be fixed and this can get approved. Put in Red Line for birthplace and since this is already using the stealth technique revamp it would normally need the 'Silent' effect in order to be usable (which is a min. r14).

Right now, I'd suggest removing the 'move in silence' part and replacing it with something like 'moves quieter'. Also it's power would be 4.
