Morose of Foosha (techs)

Character: Morose
Request: Techs of the character need reviewed for new tech rules compliance as well as new tech idea review
Changes: I don't believe the techs the character currently has are compliant with the new tech rules. The rule changes also seem to have made some of the techs pointless to have.

  • I want to get rid of the knife throwing tech.
  • I want to rework the melee knife technique and brain bun techniques to be rules compliant.
  • I'm not sure if the self buff ready to order is right or not
  • I need some guidance on how I could go about creating a very specific type of technique:
----- I want the character to be able to extend their knife and from the tip a beam of energy extends from in and twists about like a string. The user can then move his arm and the string will spiral about at his command and cut the things that come into contact with it.
----- visually it will look and work a bit like a whip but it will be made of the energy.
----- my preliminary thought for its creation would be to get a tech with a short shockwave and then gattling. The beam of energy could then be a continues stream of centimeter thin shockwaves. The pliable nature similar to a string or whip could then come in as a direction change effect of somekind in combination with the arm movement of the user.
----- I want the tech because a normal or bladed whip weapon would not match the character concept of a chef using his kitchen knives to cut things. In time, I would want to increase the rang of the whip as well as try to add materials it can cut through.

You're a lot better off doing this as the free update scoop allowed by the patch, rather than a char/misc topic. I'll answer your questions as best I can, though:

Personal buffs are rank 14 minimum now, so your existing one is not applicable.

That technique sounds like it would be a specific type of shockwave, and would likely be rank 28 minimum due to its behaviour. It's not really something that would work well on this system though, so you're much better off finding a kitchen utensil that can be used in a whip-like manner instead.

Sounds like I'll be scooping then.

I had one more tech idea I wanted input on:
I picture the character as being relatively small, agile, and evasive.
One of his chef traits is the option to have a tech that grants a supernatural type of power based on a food he consumes to acquire the power for a time. The example was a pepper to breath fire.

I'm wondering what sorts of foods and powers were used/passed in the past and if any of the foods used gave a supernatural advantage to mobility or slicing things up.

One idea I had was maybe jumping beans that could make the consumer jump really high, but I'm not sure if that's really necessary since jumping unrealistically high already seems to be possible for characters.

Fire breathing would be the best example, and other elemental effects would be easy to come by too. It's rarely used, so I can't think of any examples.

Jumping beans would probably work, but like you say it's not really something that will have much of an impact.

Since this is not a discussion topic, I will be closing this topic now.
