I am still far away from grandmaster but I would like to know about it. Does it only help to make much stronger techs or does it affect freeform too. Also, how does it affect the techniques.

From what I understood and got reassured on this, it works like arms haki in that there is a base technique (for gm that's r28) that let's all your other techs hit none solid substances. So basically once you activate the base tech, anything you do can hit logias or cut explosions or whatever it is these cooky kids are doing now withat the trait.

and unlike haki there is no counter defense against grandmaster. A haki devil fruit user can counter a df striking technique with a high enough defensive haki technique, there is no such defense against grandmastery. The drawback is that haki can affect paramecia class users with body altering effects while Grandmaster can only strie insubstantial/elements.

In addition GM can be used in normal single offensive tech lines started at rank 28 I believe. How this plays into the rank of the technique I do not know but if you only want to grandmaster a single line of branches it makes for a more efficient method of AE management as instead of needing to ativate and maintain a completely separate tech you can use the same effect while performing an attack technique.
