Name: Caesar Von Black Nickname: 'Black Caesar' Age: 32 Gender: Male Race: Human Affiliation: Pirate Bounty: 75,000,000 Achievements: Profession: Martial Artist
A Martial Artist is someone who specializes in hand-to-hand combat, completely or very close to unarmed. They usually have good insight in the aspects of weight, balance and movement of the body. Characters with this profession have access to certain additional traits and may create "Stance" techniques.
Thief
The Thief is a job closely related to the assassin. They both provide stealth capabilities, though a Thief gains lockpicking skills instead of poison knowledge, can generally know their way around the ways of barter and trade, and pickpocketing. Thieves don't have it hard to find 'underground info' in most cities, either.
Position: Captain of the BLACK DREAD Pirates
Physical Appearance Height: 6'7 Weight: 250 lbs Hair: Caesar's hair is a beautiful shades of brown altering from pecan shades to syrup locks. Each of the twisted bits of Caesar's hair differ in color based on the age of the roots and whenever they were locked. The length of Caesar's hair is on average the center of his back and chest, with newer locks being at much shorter lengths. On average En keeps his hair wrapped to avoid it from getting in his way in the midst of combat Eyes: Caesar has beautiful ice blue eyes, that can easily be mistaken for a softer shade of sapphire. The soft shape and tint of his eyes makes him look lazily. Clothing/Accessories: : Caesar tends to focus on more on practicality in terms of dress to better suit his combat style. Favoring pants with a fine fit to them and a bit of luxury in terms of their pockets and hidden compartments. The numerous number of pouches and zippers he has differs from each pair of pants however. For him it works best when attempting to
Caesar's most distinguishing factor seems to be his rather lengthy jackets, which are used to cover his shirts most of the time. The main thing about Caesar is that his jacket is thick and bears some odd symbol on it's back most of the time, ranging from two bears high fiving to a shark breakdancing. The color of his shirts worn underneath are often different depending on when and where he's going, but the lengthy jacket is always roughly at length to his shins.
Caesar tends to wear thick boots making it easier for him to move over tough terrain while still maintaining balance and movement. The overall weight of the boots are difficult to handle in softer grounds, but better suited for areas with differing friction.
General Appearance: Caesar is as physically fit as one would come to expect based on his height and weight. Having decent muscular tone and a standard mesomorph build, Caesar is everything that one would come to expect. While not bulky and overbearing, Caesar is noticably larger than most shinobi. His overall size and build make him come across as a bit more 'dashing' compared to his overall style and attire.
Caesar's natural skin tone is slightly darker than most other members of the men and women of the South Blues mostly due to the nature of his mother's race. While his build and overall build are based on his father, his definitive traits and most noteworthy features are from his mother. This is often why so many people tend to make note of his natural attactiveness.
HI
The Character Personality: Caesar believes himself to be the best there is at any given moment and won't stop until the rest of the world knows it. A loss to Caesar is a setback, a victory is a stepping-stone, and everything inbetween is just a detour. For all of the huff and puff that the man generates, he is every bit as willing to back up what he says without a moment's notice.
Caesar is more than willing to listen to people who makes anything worth his while, it just so happens that his morals are slightly off based. Believing that he is always in the right regardless of situation or setting. It's this attitude that makes for his 'slightly' heightened bounty and status as a 'thief' despite only stealing after he's made the fair offer for his targets life instead. Afterall, Caesar is a pirate not a monster.
The finer things in life are what drives Caesar. The dream of making the world pay, making a quick buck, and carrying on the legacy that is his greatness are just a few of his fine selling points. On the off occasion someone understands his outlook though, Caesar is not so above it all to let them share in the adventure. For the brave and the bold who become his allies, Caesar is always willing to protect them and will do everything within his power to accommodate them should the need arise.
As a person Caesar is reckless, harsh, caring, and always willing to make sure that everyone knows where he stands before things go crazy. The idea of 'reading him like a book' is something that anyone who's ever met him can admit to. This also makes him very harsh towards traitors and people who would mistake his 'acts of kindness' as a symbol of weakness. At his core Caesar is a pirate for a reason, something that he is quick to remind the less than accepting rivals of without a moments notice.
Caesar is a very firm believer in using ones strength to fight for what they believe in. The spirit of a rebel would make him a great leader, were it not for the fact that he's as corrupt as twelve politicians robbing two politicians. This being said he has no problem helping out the little guy every once in a while, so long as there's something in it for himself and the little guy isn't in his way. As such he has a very hard time dealing with people who would give up on themselves or aren't even willing to try and fight for their beliefs.
Hometown: Briss Kingdom, South Blue History:
How long has it been since we rose this flag? I can't remember... All I remember was one second I was free... And now... The memories begin to clash together when I think of the dead and dying... Everyday is suddenly blurring together... ... How long has it been since we rose this damned flag? -Sleeptalking
Once upon a time the men and women of Briss Kingdom had faith in their rulers. That was a very long time ago, back when the Marines were the symbol of justice and freedom, and the only thing to fear in the seas surrounding the Kingdom was the occasional wave coming a bit too high. But that was some thirty-something years ago.
Back when Caesar was just an embarrasing little thought that his father had when he met his mother on her 'maiden voyage' from Amazon Lily. A formal exchange in which the women of Amazon Lily went to each of the major villages of the Blues in an attempt to find suitable trading partners and possibly locations for some of the younger women.
It was then that Caesar's mother and father met, and luckily enough for him nine months later he was born. With his mother having a job to do, and very little room for romance in the midst of it. Caesar was left in the care of his father. Luckily for Caesar, he was better off having a father who's entire life's work revolved around him mending a giant wall that the King had errected in an attempt to better 'protect his country'.
For a while Caesar believed it. He believed it all the same that every other man and woman from Briss did. Even until the early teenage years when Caesar would get most of his fun from trying to scale the wall like some sort of madman, he never knew just how much the wall was never meant to protect anyone. It was a mistake he would learn about too well with the introduction of the 'Briss Decrees' that would be enforced onto the island.
Briss Kingdom began to forbid trading, traveling, or even messages from being mailed outside of the island without first being checked by the members of the Briss Royal Guard. This wasn't an issue until the Kingdom began to believe it was being 'taken over' by outside forces and felt it was time to take back their country.
The Marine's influence was cut down to a fraction of it's former glory. The outside trade and influence of many of the neihgboring islands was almost stopped entirely. And in the end, Caesar being born of mixed race, was an outcast amongst the only home he'd ever known. Making many people believe that he was some sort of 'secret amazon agent' meant to take over the country from the inside out.
For the next couple of years, unable to find work, Caesar took to a more 'underhanded' method of making money. Sneaking ships in and out of the country, trading in illegal goods, and ultimately doing whatever it took to make a quick buck for him and his pops.
Unfortunately, that business only went so far. When a few of the local smugglers decided to turn on their 'commrades' Somehow all the blame fell onto Caesar, and he was the only person captured and given a trail for all of the illegal events. Assuming he admitted to being born so that he could spy on Briss Kingdom and it's inhabitants, Caesar would be free to leave the island with his father and released on all charges. On the grounds that he never return there.
Caesar refused. Mostly due to the fact that his mother and father loved him, and to accept their deal would make him out to be nothing more than a liar. Partly due to the unjust laws that were being placed onto the people of Briss simply because the Kingdom was losing more and more of itself in the constantly growing world around it. But deep down, Caesar refused because he knew that one day he'd have to accept that he wasn't able to be the man his parents had wanted him to be. That one day he'd have to accept that he had no place to belong. But that day wasn't today.
So Caesar was locked away at the age of twenty-seven. Locked away and thrown into some deep dark prison where the only meals he got were barely ediable, and the only reminder he had of the outside world was a single beam of light that shown through a prison cell. Being 'technically' not involved in breaking the law until he admitted to the bargin given to him, the Kingdom of Briss couldn't turn him over to the authorities. Over the course of the two years the Kingdom of Briss changed many times.
The laws came and went, and people did the same thing, but through it all Caesar was trapped in the prison with a single beam of light constantly reminding him of the outside world. However, after two years and six months of this. Caesar was blinded by a bag over his head and thrown out of the prison cell and in front of his father's home.
Having his only child back brought great joy to the aging carpenter, and for a while the two were happy. Letting the pain and suffering of the past go. It wasn't until his father's passing some three months later did he truly understand how bad things had gotten.
Over the year, Briss Kingdom had turned to hell on the high waters. They refused to import medicine, they refused to hire new workers, they even refused medical care for the local Den Den Mushi. Because of this Caesar's father was unable to maintain his health, and had fallen ill some time ago. The last thing Caesar's father made him promise, was that no matter what he'd always be honest to himself.
And that's exactly what Caesar did.
He was honest to the smuggler who betrayed him, even as he strangled the last bit of air out of his lungs. He was honest to the guards who attempted to stop him as he stole a ship, even being so kind as to simply break their arms while fleeing. Caesar was an honest and true man the whole while he led attacks across the South Blue that would have made even the most bloodthirsty pirate question their sanity. All the while telling himself that he'd always be himself, in a world where it could cost you everything.
Abilities and Possessions Combat: To say Caesar has no formal training in combat would be a bit of an understatement. Though he does tend to favor fighting with his body as a whole, on occasion he will adopt knuckled weapons to assist him, it's just a rare occasion that he does. In truth Caesar's fighting style is as reckless as he is, and often ends up reflecting the landscape when he's done with it. Weaponry:
[Dame Rouge] (Lady Red): A poorly made iron guantlet that covers most of Caesar's right arm. It has light padding, but is mostly meant to stop him from breaking his own knuckles when he punches, unfortunately it dents more and more with each blow.
[Mademoiselle Noir] (Miss Black): A crappy Black Iron guantlet worn by Caesar that literally only covers his knuckles and it barely does that. The amount of wear and tear on them pretty much makes them useless at this point.
Items:
Forget-Me-Lock
Caesar will find himself in possession of a locket. When opened, it unfolds four ways. There is a picture inside of each person he has lost, looking the way he remembered them at the peak of his happiness. Unnervingly, the pictures always seem a little different each time he looks inside them. Each Picture has a label allowing for others to see the names of the people within them and just what their relation is towards Caesar. Should another person besides Caesar try to use he locket, it simply shows the standard images of said person.
Once per SL, he may look at the pictures to relive a random memory of the things he has lost. After one post of incapacitating misery and sadness, an optomistic resolve to not repeat his mistakes will overtake him. At some point in the next 10 posts, he may weather one single attack that would otherwise incapacitate him with much less ill effect than it would have normally dealt, leaving him conscious.
4-Leaf-Clover-Crown
A crown woven of bright green 4 leaf clovers, said to bring luck to its wearer. While wearing it, Caesar will have all small chance events turned in his favor, Coin flips, restaurant reservation spots opening up, finding a 50 beli coin in the street... Caesar will generally be a lucky guy with this crown. Once per SL he can call upon its true power and maximize his luck. He gains a 5 point boost to the Fortune stat for 3 posts and becomes so lucky that no amount of bad luck can stop him during this time.
General Fate of the Strong (5 Traits) - By placing traits in Fated, you lock them until the next time you earn a trait. You may put as many traits as you have into fated. In the meantime, you get a temporary boost of (# of traits in fated, multiplied by 3) to your strength stat.
Specific Devil Fruit (3 Traits): Caesar has eaten a devil fruit which grants him amazing powers. In his case the Spin Spin Fruit
Professional Punching Mastery (1 Trait) - The character has attained mastery in one specific weapon or form of attack that they have Martial Proficiency (can make techniques greater than rank 14) with. All techniques using this weapon or form of attack are always treated as being four ranks higher for purposes of calculating their technique rank benchmark, though their actual rank is not changed. This benefit ceases to apply for techniques higher than rank 28.
Monster Strength (3 Traits) - This character's strength is boosted by 60%.
Devil Fruit
Devil Fruit Name: Guru Guru no Mi (Spin Spin Fruit) Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia Devil Fruit Ability: The person who eats the Guru Guru no Mi gains the ability to spin or rotate any part of their body on basically any axis, controlling the speed, torque and amount among other qualities. This also gives the user the ability to generate and control 'Spin Energy', gathered when rapid spinning takes place. This can be transferred to another object (such as touching an object and causing it to spin or turn with the same force). Because of the nature of the fruit, the user also gains a natural resistance to becoming dizzy. Other resistances they obtain is natural resistance to friction burn that may be caused as they spin at extreme speeds or attacking others, as well as any type of damage that can be dealt by twisting in general (Trying to snap a wrist, neck, or any body part by twisting it in a swift motion.)
Techniques Regular Technique Points: 207 Used Regular Technique Points: 176 Special Technique Points: 0 Used Special Technique Points: 0
Description: Southpaw is a stance in which Caesar leads with his left hand while dropping his shoulder to defend himself and prepare for his follow-up technique.
Description: A straightforward stance in which Caesar places both of his fist in front of him while lowering his shoulders making him appear smaller and harder to hit.
Description: A stronger version of Panther Patte, Panther Griffe puts an emphasis on strength, allowing for Caesar's blow to knock back unsuspecting targets.
Description: Panther Ongle is a technique which is a clear cut sign that Caesar has avoided playing around. Using his strength and preforming the same jab as Panther Patte, Caesar is capable of taking less than suspecting targets off guard due to the force of the jab itself creating a 'second wind' type of blow behind it, while carrying a knockback effect onto it. Making defense and evasion difficult.
Description: A strike in which Caesar applies a great deal of force behind his blow sending a shockwave that is capable of carrying his strength alongside it.
Ours Raser [Bear Shave] Branched from Ours Chiper (28) (+4PM) [32] Type: Offensive Range: Medium [10 Meters] Stats: -
Description: An advanced version of Ours Chiper, this technique brings forth a great deal of power behind it, leaving an area of impact for those unfortunate enough to be struck by the shockwave. The area of impact is roughly half the range of the technqiue and can only be experienced within the first three meters of the blow.
Devil Fruit Techniques
Guru Guru no Mi (4+28) 34 Type: Devil Fruit Ability Range: Self Stats: -
Description:The person who eats the Guru Guru no Mi gains the ability to spin or rotate any part of their body on basically any axis, controlling the speed, torque and amount among other qualities. This also gives the user the ability to generate and control 'Spin Energy', gathered when rapid spinning takes place. This can be transferred to another object (such as touching an object and causing it to spin or turn with the same force). Guru Guru no Mi: Pleurer Moteur (Spin Spin: Cry Engine) (28) Type: Supportive Range: Self Stats: -
Description: Spinning the lower half of his body at an intense rate, Caesar is capable of causing for the winds surrounding his legs to move at such a high rate that a small spiral appears beneath him. This tiny spiral has no brute force behind it and allows for Caesar to'fly' over an area.
Guru Guru no Mi: Furie Moteur (Spin Spin: Rage Engine) (28) Type: Supportive Range: Self Stats: -
Description: Caesar causes for his elbows and forearm to rotate in the opposite direction as his wrist and hands, both reaching intense levels to kick up winds around them. This causes a drill-like spinning to reach the levels of high force winds that grant the user's melee attacks a bit of extended range due to the winds around them, and Caesar's ranged punches now carry an intense wind behind them on par with a tornado in it's effects but not impact.
The drilling effect of the spin energy is enough to allow Caesar to effortlessly 'drill' through tier 1 material. While this technique is active, Caesar's punches are given the title of "Tordu [Twisted]" Representing his new strength. Due to the nature of this technique Caesar suffers a penalty to his AE while this engine is active, making his dodges cost an addition fifty-percent more.
Guru Guru no Mi: Frissonner Moteur (Spin Spin: Quake Engine) (14) Type: Offensive Range: Self Stats: -
Description: After landing any blow, Caesar is capable of using his 'Fissonner Moteur' to make it deadly. Once a blow has successfully connected, Caesar unleashes his 'Quake Engine' to cause for his fist to spiral upon the area of impact generating a great deal of heat in addition to the drilling effect of the Guru Guru no Mi. Due to the distance being point blank and an opponent not having the same 'Spin-Energy' as Caesar, this technique often burns into and often through an opponent.
Guru Guru no Mi: Dragon Rugir (Spin Spin: Dragon Roar) (14) Type: Supportive Range: Short Stats: -
Description: Spinning a hand at an accelerated rate and kicking up a great spiral of wind, Caesar is capable of using the winds generated from his palm to draw an opponent in.
Beli standarization seems to check out for the most part, though according to my calculations it should be: 500,000 (starter) + 12,500,000 (first 50 SD) + 128,500,000 (remaining 257 SD) + 6,000,000 (contest), which is a total of 147,500,000 beli.
SD remaining should be 63, if you're not planning to spend them otherwise.
Your subsized notoriety would be at 75,000,000 beli, but you can choose to start out without it. So that's just on the side.
- Your SD remaining was right the first time around. (assuming it was 1)
Techniques:
- Southpaw/Northclaw: stances are a trade-off between stats, with the net-shift being 0. (so, +2 Stamina, -2 Strength, for example).
Alternatively, write it as a stance for flavor, and make it a Personal Buff, which buff based on:
Rank 1-27 33% of technique rank Rank 28-43 50% of technique rank Rank 44+ 66% of technique rank
That poorly formatted copy pasta of a table.
And the third alternative is just flavor in rp.
- Panther Ongle: Speak's ruling on branches, more or less, is that the newest technique in every branch should be able to do everything the previous technique does. In this case, Panther Ongle receives a knock-back.
Rank can be the same for the technique.
- Ranges:
Ours Chiper- 3 meters is fine, although it's better classed as Short, which OPRP refers to as beginning tier ranged combat.
Ours Raser- 10 meters is somewhere between Short and Medium.
Ultimately, it's preferred to have a rough gauge on range (Short/Medium/Long), although I certainly can't and won't stop you from having a specific metric length.
- Notation:
There's nothing terrible going on here but, as Mastery increases benchmark for techniques, but not actual damage considerations, writing things as rank 28 is somewhat misleading. A common notation for a rank 24 affected by mastery is 24*.
- Technique Points Used: 4 + 4 + 24 + 24 (you probably want to note that the second bear tech is a branch) = 56.
Okay, fine, I actually have characters.

Disregard my earlier SD shenaningans, I didn't take the scaling into account at all, so what Shizuo said is correct and while I'm talking about flubs, the standarized beli was also not correct.
It should be 8,500,000 less, since those included a total of 17 SD from contests, which shouldn't be taken into account. That puts it at a total of 139,000,000.
Just to put my calculations on the table again, that's 500,000 (starter) + 12,500,000 (first 50 SD) + 120,000,000 (remaining 240 SD, not counting contest SD) + 6,000,000 (contest).

Basically the only important part of the notation is to make it immediately apparent what the technique's rank pre-mastery is. (For example, Ours Raser 28, Panther Ongle 28).
Painfully, there's a bunch of other people's standardization calculations up above. The correct one is the one treize came up with.

I used Treizes I believe, so everything should be in order. And edited the rank to be more apparent prior to mastery.
The representation of each technique is now in front with the benefits of my mastery applied afterwards ending with the new value located in the brackets, since the basic math of each technique is no longer required as a breakdown it should clean up the table a bit better.
You're using the beli figure (139m) that mockday arrived at.
127,500,000 (Total Beli Earned) (308 SD Earned overall) is what trieze has, you also have it noted on your sheet in the bottom spoiler, so it's just a trans-positional error.
