Breir watched as the kid left, "defeated" and yet he certainly didn't look that at all- in fact he looked even more determined then when he had arrived. A slight smirk formed on his lips, he had used Kings Haki .. it was weak compared to his own, but it was strong compared to most. The kid revealing he had that had piqued his interest. Slowly his good eye trailed toward Kamina's ship as he grunted and finished wrapping the wound on his shoulder, tugging the cloth up- it wasn't really bad, the thing had barely managed to bite into him. But it was enough that it needed some treatment, straitening his shirt he holstered the large gun and flickered- appearing with a light thud on Kamina's deck as he crossed his arms over his chest and examined his friend. His tone was a mixture of disappointed, and yet still interested as he thought of Gin as the kid left. "He's gone. He defeated her easily when he used Haki, but without it he was pretty helpless against so many at once .. kid relies on it way to much." Slowly his grin grew, "Still. I didn't expect him to have Haoshoku .. it's worth noting, he'll probably be dead in a few years- but if he survives and keeps that drive of his he may even catch up to me." His tone almost seemed a bit depressed at that thought; with the fact his injury meant that this was essentially his peak now- it was only downhill from here. It was grating, knowing that some young kid like that would still be able to gain ranks, power, and work toward his ambitions when he was stuck where he was. Shaking his head he sighed and simply looked around in search of a bottle of booze- letting Kamina dictate what he wanted to do with the Island since Gin had failed the test. "Where are the other kids?" He asked simply as he continued to snoop about for the stress relief of alcohol, obviously meaning the other martial artists, warriors, and so forth from many islands across the globe that had tracked Kamina down- or simply gotten lucky and found him, in search for training. Hell, he wasn't even sure how far into the testing procedure the rest were at- they had passed the basic trial but there was no way the 'Beast King' was going to train all of them. There was far to many, and Kamina didn't strike him as the type to want to run a damn Dojo. Edited by HeartOfLight, Aug 10 2015, 01:32 PM.

Kamina sighed, rubbing a hand on the shell of his den den mushi. It wasn't hard, he thought, for him to realize just how futile sending this one into such a place and hope for him to succeed. But, of course, Kamina didn't. His eyes stared boredom at the horizon, and his thoughts shifted towards actually wanting to have a swim; a funny idea, really, considering he never really liked swimming before. But then, you often missed the things you could no longer do after you lost them. He turned his head and his gaze flicked upward, just as the other man arrived, and Kamina fixed him with a cool stare, his green-blue eyes looking over the other man. He swept his right hand through his golden hair, which was beginning to fade to its natural white, before he blinked and the same could be said for his eyes, which were returning to their dark black. "Ah...I didn't really expect you to actually keep an eye on him; you didn't do the same thing for the others when I asked. You just sort of let them run off, and I found you under a tree guzzling a barrel of that stuff," Kamina stated in an amused tone, indicating the other man's clear search for the stuff he could always be seen drinking. "It's in poor favor, y'know, to get so drunk when conducting business; doesn't look good. You may just lose a client one day because of it," Kamina stated, a thinly veiled threat, albeit joking, behind his words. The other man was strong, but he was a violent drunk, the sort that Kamina actually had to defend himself against at one point. He just liked the fact that it took him a lot to get that drunk, but still it put worry on his mind every time the man was called for business. Even if the beast king was partially joking, the other man had to know that it was a very real problem, and had to know that part of that threat was very real. "You really have to learn to relax some other ways; a nice walk on the beach, a nice meal, maybe even a woman--or man, if that suits your flavor," Kamina stated, half mocking. The other man was probably used to it by now, really, with how much the beast king actually did it. More than that, Kamina was sure that the other man found his humor refreshing at times, as it always had some genuineness about it; and Kamina knew the other man enjoyed such things. He knew of the betrayal, and how this man had received his injury. "...More than that, I'm surprised you watched over him, because it was a man just like him that gave you that nasty injury," Kamina stated, motioning towards the man's leg, and then to his chest and face. "It was someone else who was trying to bring down the World Government from whithin, and struck you down as though you hadn't saved his life several times. ...Then again, that may just be why you have so much interest in him. Never mind." Kamina waved his hand, seeming to dismiss the topic entirely, clearly indicting that it wasn't worth continuing. Not now. He instead offered a smile, before nodding. "Ah, right. After they completely the preliminaries, I gave the a week to prepare for the next phase. Actually...they should be back some time today. And by 'back', I mean they'll be coming here, and not on the other places we used as testing areas," Kamina answered, nodding to the other man. Obviously, this meant that Brier's job was not yet done. "Tell me, how is...the Gaoh? Bringing that beast here was a perfect idea...even though it would likely slaughtered this guys in single combat. But that's why its not meant for that, huh?" Kamina stated, remembering the large lion-like beast that was brought over from an island much deeper in the Grand Line. He remembered when its mother had nearly killed Leander and Izuru, and even gave the beast king himself, with their help, some trouble earlier in their journey. It was, by no small definition, strong. |

He smirked, "I know ya' didn't expect me too. But he got my interest, even if it's only passing." He stated simply as his eyes slowly narrowed- locating a bottle of booze, and yanking the topper off as he took a heavy swig of it. Before his eyes slowly traveled toward Kamina, and he gave the man a sour look- "I'm to old fer' that kind of 'entertainment' you young pup. Maybe you should go for a nice relaxing swim?" He countered his friends threat with a veiled of his own- they both knew if Kamina went in, he wasn't coming back out after all. Still, it was all in good fun and he grunted simply as he sat down with a thud as the chair creaked under his weight as he took another swig of the rum, his gaze traveling upward as Kamina brought up the past. Slowly he leaned forward- and seemed to debate if it was worth continuing that line of thought or not, in the end he felt as if he should at least say something, but also knew he had no desire to make it into a true conversation ether. So he settled on leaving it at a single statement instead. ".. That boy, could become just like that bastard. But he could also become something far greater .. if he is led in the right direction. That's all." He left it at that, his wound itched as he reached down and rubbed the old scar's with a simple grunt before his gaze focused on the Beast King, listening to the man's explanation on exactly what he had planned for his students. Breir grunted at the notion his job wasn't done yet. ".. It'll cost extra." He stated, half-teasing and half very serious- if the man intended to use that beast that means that there was a real threat to both him and Kamina on this Island if they set it loose for the kids to try their hands against. He was all for making money, but he wasn't so old that he would risk a limb or two for free. Still, he answered the man's question rather simply. "Hungry. Where do you want it?" He asked- his eyes trailing toward the man as he crossed his ankles, "I can lead it there with a few tricks if you want it in a specific location- or would you rather just let it roam? The thing could wreck the islands ecosystem if we don't keep it under control." |

Kamina smirked at the other man's threat, arching a brow as he looked at him. "Ha, you may have been more spry on your feet in your prime, but you lost a lot of that when you took to sniping...and that injury, of course. ...I'd like to see you try," Kamina stated, his hair beginning to seemingly bristle, flecks of gold beginning to gather back within it. Kamina knew he was faster, and, when it came to power, he was also, naturally, the physically stronger of the two. With his zoan, it became even more apparent, but he was aware of the other man's haki and the level of it. If there was anything or anyone that could truly give him trouble in this island, and perhaps out of all of the people he knew, it was this man for sure. It would be fun testing just how well he could handle himself, but Kamina knew, at this range, he had the advantage; his friend wasn't nearly as good at close-range fighting, even if he was physically impressive. Yet, he didn't press any of these facts, and just left his reply at that; no need to think about fights that would probably never actually happen under any serious or sober circumstances. Kamina eyed the bottle in the man's hand warily, and even more so the chair. Honestly, he wasn't sure how well the poor construct could support the other man's weight, and was even more concerned about whether or not the other male was tipsy enough to not be able to catch himself. And, as funny as that would be, Kamina wasn't fond of picking on people with leg injuries who fell because of it. His eyes instead focused on the other male's, a serious notion passing through them. "Of course. I wouldn't expect you to handle something like that without actual payment. I fought it back then, and was quite a bit weaker, but it still poses a pretty serious threat to either one of us if we're alone. And, I must say, you're the one spending the most alone time with it," Kamina stated, nodding. He was concerned for the other male only to an extent. He was a strong one, but sometimes his drinking dulled his senses, and his injury acted up on it. That greatly lowered his actually ability to fight when either happened. Though, perhaps, he would take more care in this situation; he was hardly fool enough to treat a beast like that lightly. And then Kamina nodded again, taking the man's last few words more seriously. "...Indeed, those were my thoughts exactly. I'm not exactly fond of that, especially when, at the moment, we still need the ecosystem to thrive. But...you know more about the island--and animals in general--than I do, so I'll trust you to take it to a suitable place. Just let me know where it is; I'd hate to have these guys stumbling around, only to get eaten for taking the wrong trail," Kamina stated, thinking his mind reflective; he realized, with a firm quickness, that there weren't actually trails on the island. But that didn't really matter. The Beast King's eyes narrowed, and he arched his right brow, taking in the sight of the man's shoulder. He sighed, shaking his head. "See! That's just what I mean; that drink will be the death of you, one way or another," Kamina stated, his expression touched by dramatic exasperation. It was pretty clear that there was also hidden meaning behind 'one way or another', but he didn't bother to touch on it. It was a running gag that Kamina stated one day he'd end up killing the man because of all that drunken rage. "You have got to watch yourself better. But...maybe I should come with you when we lead the Gaoh away; someone has to watch your back, right?" It was troubling and true, but highly unlikely. The man wasn't that bad off just yet. More than that, Kamina was still interested in one thing. "...You know what still bugs me?" Kamina asked, not really expecting an answer for his clearly rhetorical question, motioning towards the bottle. "Why you go looking for other alchohol, when you always have that flask full of the stuff on you at all times. As long as I've known you, I've never seen you drink from it...and I've seen you drink a lot of alcohol," Kamina stated, clear genuine amusement in his face. "...What is it, some kind of Secret Potion?" |

A slow grin formed on his lips as he gave the man a curious look at the flickers of golden energy, "I think it wouldn't be so hard to catch yah' if I was sober yah' yellow monkey." He stated in counter, he knew very well the Beast Kings speed and power outmatched him (now)- but even if his body was weak, his Haki was one of the strongest there was and it wasn't hampered by his physical limitations- it would be an interesting challenge, whom would win if both went all out- but in the end it was something to be settled another time. Chuckling under his breath he took another swig of his drink before he slowly nodded as Kamina agreed for the extra payment- slowly cracking his neck as he rose up and stretched. The sound of bones popping and cracking filled the air as the man stretched and tested his leg lightly before nodding- satisfied it was in good shape for now as he silently debated a good location. "The island's got high amount of big predator's right now, the one the kid spared is probably the islands natural top-predator beyond the sleeper." He pondered as he slowly closed his eyes in thought, "I'll lead it up to the top of the mountain. There's alot of natural caves and big predators the island doesn't need up there that should keep it distracted for a time- and we can leave the Dinosaur that jumped me as a sort of gatekeeper up to it." He raised the bottle- chugging the other half of it that was left as Kamina spoke. ".. I'm not that old, pup. I could lead it." He then debated quietly as if in thought, "But with the other one skulking around, and the raptor nests that the kid stirred up, it may be better to have us both go I suppose. The entire Island is awake and alive- and hungry, now that the runt has pissed them all off. Pity he only killed a few things, makes our job alot harder- the kid is soft." He sighed before grunting and his eyes slowly trailed toward the man as he asked about the flask on his belt, and his gaze almost took a fare-away shade to it for a moment as his hand slid toward the simple iron flask with the design of a hawk soaring away, carved into it. ".. You said that drink is going to be what kills me in the end, aye?" He murmured quietly as he slowly lowered his hand from the flask. ".. Well you aren't wrong." He left it at that- figuring the beast king would be smart enough to at least understand to some degree; as he adjusted his belt and grunted as he eyed his shoulder. "It's fine ether way. The things teeth barely got through the skin." He explained as he stepped forward, the reality that the man's stamina and body density was immensely inhuman that much more evident- without even using Haki, most attacks barely did anything to him- that included the jaws of a Tyrannosaurus and Raptor Hybrid that ambushed him. He left it at that. "You ready now? If we wait till night it'll just be harder." Edited by HeartOfLight, Aug 10 2015, 03:23 PM.

Kamina left it at that. He had his own guesses about what was in that flask, and, judging by how the other male reacted to the situation, perhaps it was best to pry. In the end, it didn't really matter whether or not he would be able to confirm his guesses, and so he didn't bother putting much effort in trying to figure it out; perhaps it was better this way. What concerned Kamina more was the fact that his ex marine friend, who usually asked for his payment up front, didn't even bother this time around. What exactly was he thinking, behind that gruff demeanor and disinterested facade? While he seemed to claim that he cared very little for the newcomer, but it was very obvious that it was more than just a slight interest; he actually seemed to be thinking about something. It was clear, based on what Kamina already said, that this man would obviously have some bad memories stirred by seeing someone like Gin, but it seemed that this was a special case, with lingering thoughts attached. More than anything, perhaps, Kamina may be able to convince the other male to help develop the young man's haki, should he fail Kamina's more physical training; it was the least he could do, and it was fairly easy to give a referral to a teacher. "My thoughts exactly," the beast king said, looking away from Brier, speaking as though he was talking to no one in particular, even though it was very obvious he felt the same way about how Gin could turn out, in response to what the older man had said earlier. "...Alright, I know how tough you are. You don't have to remind me just how capable you are at keeping yourself alive, friend. I'm just glad you're aware enough of the danger to at least not take any chances and accept my offer to come along; I'm sure not many of your clients would do the same," Kamina stated, smiling. Admittly, he sort of hoped something unexpected or dangerous would happen, just so he could get himself back into top form. The kais only knew how much he wasn't interested in turning out like his brother, who had spent his time away from battle, and had actually managed to become weaker than him, even though he had the massive head start. He was fully aware of the difference in their strength now, and, more than anything, it amused him to no end. Perhaps it was time to put all of his strength and skill to the test once again; something he figured his brother was doing at the moment. "Yea, I'm ready. I don't exact-" Kamina began, stopping mid sentence as he was cut off, turning his head to stare at the horizon. "...Ah, I see. She got back quite a bit faster than I expected," Kamina stated, a smile spreading across his face. Clearly, someone expected had arrived, and, more than that, this person seemed to be important to some level. Kamina's eyes trailed the deck, before resting a few inches in front of him, and his body was tensed; as if he was preparing to battle for his life right then and there. And then, just like that... "~Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaster!," The strange female called out in a soft yet, strangely at the same time, rumbling voice, before she appeared in front of the beast king, nearly crushing him in a tight hug, before he vanished, appearing near Brier and staring at her with no small amount of amusement. One thing that was immediately striking was her size; she was easily ten feet tall, even towering over the massive Brier, and had deep blue eyes and tan skin. Her hair was cut surprisingly short, the same light blue as her eyes, and she had two horns jutting out of the side of her head. She was part fishman(woman), and her incredibly sharp teeth gleamed as she looked towards the beast king, her attire very similar to the white and gold gi set he wore, save for an undershirt in place (perhaps for censorship reasons). Despite her size, her body was striking, even noticeable when convered in the gi, clear muscle distributed perfectly in a sleek and very curvy feminine frame; honestly, if she were normal sized (and perhaps didn't have those sharp teeth), Kamina would be more likely to go for her. "...Rhea. You're back so soon. Strange to see you here, honestly. Is there a particular reason why you are here already, when you were supposed to be here several hours from now? How...was that even possible, by the way...?" She simply smiled, before trying on a more alluring expression, which sort of failed because of those teeth. It was sort of like having jaws hit on you, if jaws actually had a rocking body. "I swam," she stated casually in response, as if this was the most normal answer ever. And, for all involved, it sort of was. And was completely believable. Kamina almost told her to stay there, because they had to leave on business, before a thought occurred to him; a terrible, nasty, awful thought. "...Alright, we're going into the wilderness for some training. I was going to tell you to stay here, but, out of all of the people vying to be taught by me, you rank highest in physical ability, so I don't think it would be too terrible to bring you along," Kamina stated, trying to consider whether or not this was actually a good idea. Eventually he settled on yes, before nodding to the other male. "Alright Brier, lead the way. I'm sure we'll be able to keep the pup safe with our combined abilities," Kamina stated calmly, before jumping off the boat. Edited by SvenFold, Aug 13 2015, 11:51 AM.

Brier grunted as the boat rocked a bit with the woman's landing and yelling; shifting his footing just slightly to retain balance as he crossed his burly arms over his chest- a brow arching slowly as he examined the young woman that had appeared before them. ".. I don't remember her. Then again I don't really remember any of them, I just set the traps and made sure they didn't die." He chuckled dryly before his gaze slowly traveled toward her- his Haki was careful, measuring the girl before he slowly nodded. Seeming satisfied as he grunted and turned, looking toward the jungle- ".. She should be fine long as she sticks close." He agreed simply before he burst forward after Kamina, expecting the girl to keep up. Landing with a thud on one of the few branches capable of keeping his weight up he simply cracked his neck and reached down, unbuckling his gun to ensure he was ready- glancing to Kamina and the girl before nodding. Satisfied before he shifted, it was as if his entire bearing changed as his eyes hardened and his Haki swept the entire Island- it took in every single life sign, their power levels, their levels of aggression, and more. ".. Hn. It's moved." he stated simply as his eyes narrowed to the south-west, the beast was fast- faster then it had been before. How was that possible? His mind quickly went over the possibilities, but he couldn't think of one- it had only been here a few days, there was no way it had gotten this much faster in such a short time. So how? .. He supposed they would find out. "This way." He stated simply- and with another burst he leap from the tree, leading as he carefully leap from branch to branch, it was fairly easy going at first- however as time passed within several minutes that changed. The vines themselves snapping outward, slow to Kamina and Brier, but the girl possibly not so- however Brier was not a master of these plants and animals for no reason. Raising a hand a slim seed shot out from his hand before a pink mist exploded outward, right before the tendrils enveloped any of them there was a hissing noise as they fell back from the mist. "Devil's snare .. what the hell is going on?" His tone was not quite concerned, but there was certainly confusion. Devil's snare stayed in dark places- they were in the Islands caves, not in the middle of the damn jungle where sunlight hurt them. What could have driven it from the caves? Slowly his eyes trailed back toward Kamina as he halted where he was- odd, within the middle of the Jungle. Which meant it was important. "We may have a problem, pups." He stated in a slightly worried tone, which for him- said alot. He used his Haki- paying more refined attention this time, and realized the oddities. "Everything's .. wrong. The entire island is alive and terrified. I though the runt just pissed the island off, but something even has the Goah running scared, Kamina. Enough that it ran at beyond top speed for its life across the damn island." His eyes narrowed on the beast king- because if something made the Goah scared, then it was reason to worry. It took alot to make a predator scared. A powerful predator like that scared? .. That was a problem. |

Kamina wasn't surprised. Brier rarely took any interest in anything other than booze, and the occasional ramblings Kamina went through. If it weren't for how often and fervently he saw the man guzzle the stuff, and the amused facial expressions he had whenever Kamina gave hi shit, he would have thought the guy was devoid of personality at all, especially with how gruff and stern he was when they first met. Then again, during that time, Kamina was a highly wanted pirated who had disappeared, only to show up on the former marine's island out of nowhere. That might have brought a bit of tension to the entire thing. But it was for this reason why Kamina had figured he didn't exactly pay attention to the people who came to seek his training. Some of them were pirates, one in particular having quite the bounty, at one hundred million or so, and being...incredibly violent. The rest were mostly people with no real affiliation, and were, for all things considered, fairly unimportant to the rest of the world, and were likely to just get bounties slapped on them for working with Kamina, something that the beast king knew Brier hated; dragging respectable, law-abiding citizens into situations that put them under the World Government's eye. And Kamina was sure that HE was sure that, if Kamina went through with this World Government terrorism plot, it would only get worse for them, even if they weren't aware just yet. Still, Kamina was glad that, after looking her over with what Kamina could only assume was observation haki, he was pleased with what he saw, and figured her capable. Not like that was necessary, as Kamina was very good with the knowledge of weight, balance, and movement, and was quite capable of seeing one's physical abilities even in the most minor movements of the body; haki really did make these people soft and dependent. Kamina was already perched on a branch not far from the one that Brier had picked. Rhea was lagging behind, clearly slower than the Beast King, but certainly quick enough to catch up with the large ex marine, deciding to land next to Kamina, shaking the branch they were on, and greatly testing the strength of the large tree. "...What?" Kamina stated, unsure of what he was hearing. "....What?" Rhea repeated, even more unsure of what SHE was hearing, and mimicking Kamina in order to sound more grounded. The truth was that she had arrived late, and did not actually hear what either had said up to this point. Kamina gave her a rather bemused gaze, before it shifted into mild annoyance, before looking back at his friend. "It moved? What do you mean 'it moved'? This sort of thing has never happened with you; normally, if you want a beast to stay in an area, it stays there," Kamina stated, not so much indicating that the man got worse at his job, but that there had to be something amiss. And he was right. The other man moved, and Kamina followed quickly after him, quickly catching up and moving at his left flank, being sure not to overtake him, and to have him properly covered, just in case something went wrong. Meanwhile, Rhea, whose instincts were ready this time, was able to keep up as well, if only with difficulty, taking up a position close to the large marine's right flank, opposite Kamina. It was obvious, even to her, that things had gotten serious. And then Brier stopped abruptly, causing the beast king to stop on a dime as well; unfortunately for Rhea, she wasn't nearly as prepared, and ended up flying forward, and would have continued if Kamina did not reach out and grab the fabric of her gi, holding it in place and keeping her from going any further; he had no intention to let her get this far ahead. Not with the expression that was on the ex marines face. "Be careful; control your physical abilities. You're amazing, and have the highest chance of winning based on those abilities alone, but you really lack technique..." Kamina stated shaking his head. He thought, thinking to himself, that it must have been odd to see how he was holding the female wotan, and, now that he looked down, he was getting quite a nice view; but he released her. Falling, she grabbed a much lower and sturdier-looking brach, using it to swing her body upwards and landing on the branch Kamina was on, staring at the ground. "Sorry mastery, forgive my incompetence," she stated sullenly, her voice ringed with self pity. Kamina sighed, before looking towards his marine friend. "Get it together, prospect; now's not the time," he didn't even bother to remind her that she had not yet won the right to be called his student, and to call him master was not fit for the situation. Yet, he had done it many times before, and she did not seem to want to think any other way; all the more worse if she failed, he thought. The next round was not a test of power. And then the ex marine said something important. "What? It had the Gaoh running? Beyond top speed?" Kamina thought about that for a moment. He was aware the thing was fast, but the marine had said it as though it was moving far too fast for any natural phenomenon. Except, perhaps, one; adrenaline. It was well known adrenaline had a lot to do with people putting on extreme bursts of strength, speed, or durability, and it generally only happened in situations of extreme stress, where such things were needed to get out of it. Which means, based on this line of thinking, that it was likely that something had scared the Gaoh so much, that it put on a burst of adrenaline to get away. But that wasn't the worst part. The really kicker was that it was necessary to put on this burst of adrenaline to not get away, just because of the way adrenaline usually worked, as stated. That was not good. Kamina's eyes met the narrowed ones of the other male, and Kamina gritted his teeth. "The Gaoh can use Haki," Kamina stated, not sure if the other male even knew. It wasn't a fact that he wanted to let any of the prospects know, but it seemed necessary to bring it to the other man's knowledge, in case he didn't know. "...Just like his late mother. I didn't tell you this before because--and don't shoot me for this--I kind of didn't want to pay that extra bit of money I knew you would bust my head for. Sorry," Kamina stated, holding up his hands in surrender. "...But could you tell me what its level was? And if it was activated? I don't know if haki gives off any sort of signal or whatever, but you may be able to use that to trace where this big beasty is," Kamina stated, unsure of whether this method had any merit, but locking eyes in seriousness with the other male regardless. "Umm..." The wotan perked up, her eyes shining. "I-I can smell it out! I have a good nose," She said seriously, pointing at her nose furiously. It didn't really look like anything but a regular female nose--scaled to size, of course--but apparently she had a strong sense of smell, so it had to be useful. Kamina considered this a few seconds, before nodding, inhaling and exhaling deeply, before opening his eyes again, which turned into two pools of green-blue. His hair was already spiking, changing into a gold coloration; he was transforming. "Yes...I think we can all aid in this sort of thing. My senses are pretty strong when I transform. Alright, let's see where this goes, shall we? Let's all have each other's backs." Techs Used

Brier's eye twitched and his hand visibly twitched toward his Gun, as Kamina admitted that the thing could use Haki. ".. God .. damn it Kamina." He murmured as he took a slow breath and rubbed his face, raising his hands as he tried to think. "I'm doubling the cost for this. You deserve worse, that explains how it got out- I lined that fence with Ultrium, nothing can break that metal except a hand full of things. Haki, is one of the." He stated in a rather annoyed tone, before he slowly took a breath- "But that makes me even more concerned. It's a physical powerhouse. It's smart. It has Haki strong enough to rip Ultrium apart to escape from something." He left the next bit unsaid, though he was sure they were all thinking it. So what the hell scared it so much that it ran for its life? He glanced to the side, "I can sense the Goah .. it's across the damn Island. I can't .. sense whatever the hell scared it." Noting the young woman and her statement about her nose, he knew it was true-fishfolk had incredibly strong senses generally, rivaling a Zoans in many cases. Slowly he took a breath before he crossed his arms over his chest- "Hold on before we go rushing off. I need to think. If the Goah is pumped on Adrenaline, then we need a plan- or she may die." he did not state this gently, in fact he was questioning even bringing the girl, even with them. Slowly he tapped his foot, thinking hard. Could he shut down the Goah's Haki? Generally anything that was a Commodore or weaker, he could shut their Haki down- and weaken the Haki of anything stronger. But he didn't know how strong the Goah's Haki -was-. Slowly he rubbed his face before taking a breath, he had several green pops he could use to help control it as he had before, but he didn't have a portable unbreakable fence he could just manifest ether. ".. We need to get it to the mountain peak. But we don't know what has hurt it to this extent ether. Kamina- I need you to keep its attention when we get there. Girl, you stay with him- close. I can't keep you safe, I have to set the traps to catch the fucker n' make it stay down .. we can't try to bring it up there conscious with something even stronger then it hunting the area." Even as he talked his mind was racing, trying to think of any beast that could make the Goah- now with Haki, frightened. Even in the New World, the options were limits. A Selthroth? A Baskilier? He hated not knowing, because he couldn't prepare. Shaking his head he made sure Kamina agreed to keep the beast busy, before he turned and his Haki honed in on it. "I'll track the Goah .. you two use those noses of yours to make sure to keep tabs on anything that comes near us. Anything that doesn't smell like plant, insect, or dinosaur- say. If you smell your favorite scent .. definitely say. And stop breathing." He didn't know if it was a Baskilier or not- but better to warn them ahead of time, the better question was how the hell it got on the Island. Ether way- the goal was simple now, and he flickered forward, ignoring the slight sting in his leg from pushing it with so many uses of Soru. They had bigger problems right now then his old-man-pains. |

Kamina knew Brier would be mad. What he hadn't expected, however, was how calm he was about it. Maybe he had misjudged just how drunk the other man was, or perhaps he misjudged how reasonable he could be. Then again, he had always really been reasonable, , and perhaps Kamina had simply been projecting the attitudes of Frosty and Smokey the Bandit on him, expecting a completely unneeded burst of anger that would end in a bunch of mistakes being made that would, now that Kamina considered it, be much more likely to get them killed. Kamina admitted that the fact that he hadn't added this information to the other man's collection was a terribly one, and cursed himself for being more cheap than worried about the safety of everyone involved. He didn't, however, imagine that the Gaoh's haki had developed to any point that was troubling, though, unlike the beast's mother, as it was still fairly young. And that concerned Kamina, even if he didn't mention it; what had caused its level of haki to develop so quickly? It didn't even have the ability to harden even the tiniest part of one of its claws not long ago, so what happened? Perhaps, just like it running off of adrenaline, it had awakened more of its power in order to escape. Wait. Escape? From the cage? Obviously it had to, so what made it rush into doing something like that? The thing had scared it enough, that it could not only enter the cage, but also put enough stress on the beast that, in that moment, the strength of its haki increased. It wasn't a terrible idea, Kamina thought, as haki was generally awakened in much the same way; a lot of stress, and a need for such power. "That's not what I meant," Kamina stated, shaking his head. "I meant can you sense where the Gaoh actually used haki, if at all. Because its haki wasn't nearly as strong as that when I checked on it not long before; and its species isn't exactly known to be quick to learn it. It was struggling," Kamina stated, clear implication in his voice. What if it wasn't the Gaoh that broke the fence. What if it was whatever was chasing it? What if the Gaoh simply used the opening to get as far away as possible; or, more likely, burst through the already damaged part, surprising what attacked it, and managing to escape. "I feel like, if we know where the Gaoh last used haki, if at all it did, we should be able to find out the general area where the beast likely is." It was smart enough. Kamina raised a brow, before nodding in agreement at the plan. He could handle that much. More than that, there seemed to be the possibility of a beast that used poison to fill up an area. Which was interesting, to say the least, but nothing the beast king couldn't handle. It did, however, make him wary of fighting it directly, given the fact that he was most deadly at close range, and would keep in mind not to touch something that was likely so poisonous it tainted the air enough to be deadly in proximity alone. He obviously didn't want to touch something like that, and have his hand burnt off. He didn't need to be told that, and he was sure his friend was very aware of that much. The had a clear understanding of each other's abilities, both in directly combat and strategy. However... "Rhea. He means poisons. If it smells like your favorite scent, its likely some sort of creature's natural hunting genes at work; lures you in, makes you want to smell more of that scent, then kills you with the poisons within it," Kamina stated, moving through his words quickly. Rhea, however, seemed deadly serious, nodding her head, narrowing her eyes as she looked over the area. "I'm ready," she stated in response, her muscles tightening and her body bent forward in preparation. And they all moved in unison, with Kamina's senses on high alert. They assumed much the same formation as before, with the wotan sticking much closer this time, Kamina on the left flank and her on the right. Clearly, things wouldn't go terribly if everything went as planned. Yet, as Kamina knew first hand, and even the ex marine, who had lost so much because it hadn't, that it was unlikely. "Don't underestimate her, Brier; she's one of the top contenders for my training. Though her technique is lacking..."
"...She has tremendous physical ability. Enough to rival some of the strongest around. She won't be a total hindrance. So don't worry so much about her, because I know that'll get in the way of you're work, friend," Kamina stated, slightly amused. But it was the truth. He had tested her doriki and everything. The only issue was that, unlike him and Brier, she didn't have the technique to back up all that, and she was no expert strategist. It seemed as though all that natural physical talent was missing the honed and decisive ability that two of his other prospects had. Notably, that marine who wanted to play savior. |

Brier debated the question Kamina posted as they dashed forward, Haki didn't leave a 'residue' from where it was used. But, the clash of something that powerful surely had to leave an imprint, Kamina was right- perhaps a section of the Jungle that was dead? He noted it, for now they needed to get the Goah under control. Dashing forward his grip in the wood increased as he nodded lightly- "I know she's strong, Kamina. But she's inexperienced. To many kids die over stupid mistakes .. so make sure she -doesn't-." He said this rather bitterly as he moved, likely connected to the fact that she was already likely to become labeled a pirate despite being a innocent but powerful girl- having her die for similar stupid reasons made him just as angry. Still, he put it to the back of his mind as he dashed forward- and it didn't take to long, with the occasional fire of a pistol, or punch from the other two, to clear the way of anything that may get in the way. The path was fairly easy to get to the beast, and he arubtly stopped as his arm shot out as the signal to halt- silently thanking the heavens with how his leg ached. He wasn't used to using Soru so many times in such a small space, not for many years. He hated to admit it- and never would vocally, but Kamina was right. He was getting rusty. Still, it was no time for self pity- he silently raised a hand and pointed, though their noses could likely locate it by now. Far to the left the beast was curled- barely visible in a cave in the side of the mountain. The massive Lion stirred, as if sensing the presence of the other two as he sucked his teeth in annoyance- "Go. Keep it busy .. we don't have long. I have a bad feeling. I can't stay hidden and shut down its Haki at the same time, and me staying hidden is more important for this to work. So be careful." he whispered shortly, before he disappeared. But it was obvious he was not gone, as he carefully began to plant the seeds and slim metal disks in the area- he had to do it perfectly, and time it even more so or this would go even worse. However, the answer to Kamina's question became fairly evident as the beast rose up slowly- and its eyes immediately locked onto the pair despite the distance. Observation Haki. It's lips curled slowly as it recognized Kamina- and a bellowing roar blasted from the beast, shaking the very ground beneath them.

"Indeed. But that's where I come in," Kamina stated, answering the man's concerns. What was important, for him, was to keep his mind set on the task at hand, and not so much with her; he understood his wish to keep young one's safe, but it was also experience that helped them develop the best way they could, and not babying them. "Your greatest nemesis will not show you mercy. The world will not show you mercy. And I would not be making it any easier by showing you mercy," Kamina stated, just loud enough for the others to hear, but clearly to himself, not saying his phrase to anyone in particular. He understood what path they needed to take in order to overcome any real danger; any real problem in their life. He understood what the world would take them through, and the sort of things that would happen to them, just because they were strong, sought power, or even followed him; he was done babying those that tried to take the path of power, and done trying to baby those who chose to put their lives under his service. He would help them as best he could, but he expected them to evolve to protect themselves as well; and he would be more than willing to offer such assistance in making that a reality. He was always a big softy, no matter what he tried to make himself seem like. And that was concerning, as it could very well put them in danger if he didn't get his head together. And then there was the Gaoh. They locked eyes for the longest of moments, before the beast let out a roar of challenge. Kamina simply flexed, his body tensing, before he heard a large, incredible, horrendous roar from behind him, which caused him to turn his head ever so slightly, his focus still primarily on the beast, to see the large wotan at the ready, her own body tense, and her eyes locked; the roar had come from her. It was funny what seaking dna could do to the fishfolk, he thought for a few moments. Still, the challenge of the three beasts were clear, and Kamina, knowing that he needed to get the beast's attention, dashed towards it, watching as Rhea followed closely after him. Their movements went into the trees at the far side, just as the wotan flung a small bullet of water at the beast, Kamina himself following after her. Hopefully...he would take the bait. "Well now! Haven't you gotten big! Let's see if all of that size will mean anythin' this time around!" The Gaoh was not a beast that liked to be taunted. |

As the Wotan released her own Roar, the lion bristled- before it charged. The Water bullet blasted forward and slammed into the beasts steely hide, and mostly just pissed it off. Even with the woman's incredible physical strength- her technique was lacking, and the beasts hide was as strong as steel. The blunt force went through the skin, and caused some light bruising- nothing more. But it did get its attention, alot like shooting someone with a rubber bullet. It snarled and spun, and that Haki once more came into effect as it seemed to be predicting the Fishwoman's next move to guard, or dodge- and the paw altered course to counter as the claws shot out to dig into the woman's side. It was not likely to work, but the Gaoh was not ignorant of Kamina's presence ether. This was evident when, without looking and relying souly on its Haki that it seemed to be using driven by pure instinct, its tail lashed out like a massive steel bat the size of a street light pole- and just as dense. The whip of metal-like flesh shooting out to try and catch Kamina off-guard by thinking it was attacking and focusing on the fishwoman, it's monstrous strength coming to bat as even Kamina or the Fishwoman's strength in comparison was faulty. However, it appeared that beyond its immense durability and power, it was not the fastest, nor was it capable of immense reflex- at least to Kamina this would likely become obvious within these few short motions. The only reason it was able to react to two opponents so well was the amplified Haki that it had somehow gained. The roar it bellowed as the claws and tail lashed out aimed with Haki, filled the space of the area as the wind of the creatures power lashed out and caused several bushes to uproot and go flying just from the back-flow of air. Brier glanced up and muttered in annoyance, he needed to work faster. Quickly he slid the next set of disks down and planted the seeds as he dashed around the "battleground"- he needed to cover every inch of the fields edge or this wouldn't work. A single weakpoint could mean the beast could just rip its way out of it all over again. He moved as fast as he could while remaining hidden, silent and shielded from the powerful grip of the beasts senses and Haki. Gaoh Techniques & Notable Traits |

Kamina had expected this, from what Rhea had told him. She was inexperienced. In fact, she was not actually a practitioner of fishman karate, and merely tried to mimic it from all the times she had seen it used. To little success. While was certain that 'bullet' of water would killed any normal person, this creature before them was considerably stronger, and would not be felled so easily. It did amuse Kamina to think, for the briefest of moments, how far this creature had grown, as the beast king had remembered when it was nothing but a cub. That was when he took took the life of his mother; that was when the beast had set its sights on him. But then, Kamina had not been the one to land the felling blow...not like it mattered. It was he who had caused this beast's maternal figure to get sliced by the ice man; a feat that would not have been possible if Kamina hadn't done most of the heavy lifting. Such was life. Or, at least, his. An electrical aura surrounded the beast king as he focused on the Gaoh, his eyes narrowing. His senses had already alerted him to its approach, and the inevitable attack, and so he could feel his senses stir as it approached. It seemed to have, for the moment, ignored Kamina in favor of attacking the girl who attacked it, much to the beast king's dismay, which caused him to tense, his body braced and ready to move as the beast had made motions that indicated its impending assault, flinging his body towards the beast, aiming a punch at its paw in order to knock it aside. However, this was no normal, run-of-the mill punch, bearing incredibly force that, combined with the beast king's partial transformation and his own natural strength, should have been more than enough to match the beast's strength. It was a powerful move, key in his martial art, and something he had been working on during his time on that mysterious island. Surely, it would do quite a bit more than knock it away, and even with the immense stamina that the creature had, this was going to hurt. Badly. Kamina had used his super sense in order to counter the beasts observational abilities, and had attacked a part of its body that would, undoubtedly, be hard to dodge with the momentum placed behind it. Kamina was aware that he would likely not be able to strike it, with all that force behind it, without himself feeling a bit of pain, but it was more than worth the effort of saving the girl from being cut in half. Good students were hard to find, and even if she wasn't quite 'good' just yet, she certainly had potential. And that potential shown in that moment. The girl acted almost immediately, seeing the situation unfold. The beast was faster, she knew that now, but Kamina had placed himself between her and it already as they were retreating. While it was nice to let him save her, as if she was one of those damsels in distress in those hero movies, she didn't have time to allow one of her fantasies to play out; It was time to act. Even her master would have trouble against this thing, and she didn't intend to weight him down by constantly having to be saved. And so she focused, her senses sharpening on the level of the beast king, and she acted--slower, and with much more difficulty--lashing out with her own punch, mimicking the motion that her idol had made, re positioning herself in order to strike the inside of the beast's paw, just out of reach from its claws, punching inward, just like him, in hopes to stop the force. Kamina's eyes widened. He knew her mistake. She had assumed that their level of strength was still equal. But, in his transformed state, she would be overpowered. Especially given how much more skill he had; her technique was clearly a far weaker, cheap imitation of what he used. He almost didn't want to look, but his enhanced senses wouldn't allow him to escape what would happen, and he couldn't, for fear the beast did something unexpected. This was a problem. "...God dammit Rhea.." He changed his punch into a simple grapple, using his quicker speed to move and try to use his force to stop the oncoming attack, changing his tactics in order to try and have the wotan's force stop the attack, rather than do any real damage. His hair, during this change, was growing rigid, and a much deeper gold; he was transforming in the act. He was growing, and his features were becoming more ape-like. Rhea gasped. This was, in fact, the first time he had transformed in combat. Unfortunate. He had hoped to not use it in front of the prospects.
Worst case scenario? He gets slashed or bitten. But it was better than seeing her die. Kamina Techs Used Rhea Techs Used

Anger. The beast's anger seemed to radiate from it as the beast's claws lashed downward- only to have it miss from a powerful blow slamming into it from the opposite side, its Haki not strong enough to keep up with the beast King to its anger. Of course, to its luck- the female was stupid, and tried to punch it instead of dodging and letting the momentum carry it. The resounding impact of a several-ton ball of steel and iron flying through the air to meet with the fish-woman's fist, filled the air, and by that- a crack. The punch was minimal, barely notable compared to the bullet before, it would feel like a normal person trying to punch an incoming car that was going at moderate speeds. As it slammed into the fist it would have laughed- if the initial hit from Kamina hadn't rattled the beasts bones to its core, it was a durable beast, but the beast kings punch had definitely left a massive bruise. Still, its immense stamina and power- Kamina was incredibly strong, but the beast was still stronger and more durable. It hurt, but it was able to shrug it off much as a normal individual would shrug off an incredibly strong punch, it knocked it on its face, it hurt- but it was hardly down. Still, this signaled that with Kamina's arsenal he could beat the beast into submission without too much trouble. Still- it would not be that simple as when Kamina's arm wrapped around its neck, halting it from bisecting the fishwoman, it snarled and showed its intellect. When a normal beast was in a chokehold it tried to shake the offender off, that didn't really work. The beast instead, dropped its head- and raised both paws as one would try to cover its head, but the claws were raised and exposed. If Kamina didn't get off, he was getting a back full of iron-piercing and shredding claws, each the size of a small sword rending into his flesh. The beast was not amused by the powerful, but still weaker monkey on its back. Brier frowned at the sight, he knew the beast would be an issue- but he had underestimated it a bit as well. It seemed the Haki awakening had done more then granted it Haki- had it gotten stronger from whatever it had encountered somehow? To many unanswered questioned. He dashed forward, almost done- just a bit more. Don't you get shredded on me you pups .. Edited by HeartOfLight, Aug 17 2015, 04:35 PM.
