Maggy was intrigued when she found out Kelly had no link to this guy, whoever he actually was. It was a bit of a shame because it would have made things easier, yet now she’d been stuck with a piece of information which she couldn’t get her head around and due to having been made to be all serious by her flashback she didn’t quite know what to think of it all. It was yet another bad guy with some ability to turn into animals, which made her wonder if there was some sort of conspiracy going on, like all the animals taking over people and uniting or something. “I feel we’re missing a big chunk of this puzzle…” She thought about it a little bit. Perhaps they had a leader who was orchestrating all these attacks, after all she’d never heard of things like this till her adventures with Tam had begun, and yet now they were springing up all the time. Plus if they guy had nothing to do with Kelly then he certainly did with someone else. She stood up in accordance to the request of people there, and began to walk towards the door with her partner, wondering how exactly she’d manage to figure it all out. “Surprises are usually great” She couldn’t wait for whatever it was that she was suggesting, it was going to be great. However, being how she was, she also didn’t want to wait for it, and sow as already bursting to know what this stranger had in store for them. Perhaps they would also give them the ability to become animals, or maybe she’d show them a sort of weakness for them. Whatever it was going to be, she was raring to know. As they walked out she looked back at the building, making a mental note of the place as to make sure she wouldn’t forget it like she did with everything else. Once back on the boat, Tam wasted no time in grabbing the alcohol and Maggy wasted no time in grabbing the food. She’d managed to learn a few dishes which didn’t include human remains, as although it was fun to collect the ingredients for them, she’d heard that this sort of meal was good for the skin, which she of course worried about, despite having the most perfect skin you’ll ever see. They didn’t have the best of cooking equipment however she had a gas canister and a fire with a pot, although she was pretty sure they had an over hidden away somewhere. Still she enjoyed cooking. Occasionally poking her head out of her room, the captain’s quarters, she thought about how to reply to Tam’s question. She’d seemed nice, if not a little confident, not that there was anything wrong with that, some of the best people were. “She’s nice. I can see why you two got along” She smiled and got back to cooking, throwing the odd spice into the mix whether it was needed it not. She planned on making something rather spectacular, as she usually wasn’t allowed to cook because she was a safety hazard or whatever, she hadn’t particularly listened. A few minutes later she walked back onto the deck with two plates, one in her right hand and one on her arm. It was kind of warm so she rushed over to a table nearby to Tam and dropped the plate in her hand down before moving her arm away a little to drop hers down, followed by placing cutlery accordingly: knife on the right of the plate fork on the left. She then looked down at her masterpiece rather happy about it. Each plate had an equal sized slice of fish, cooked till it was pink and just beginning to turn brown with a few drops of lemon over the top, with a side of salad including tomato, lettuce, onion and cute new potatoes. “I’ve never made anything like this before, I don’t know how it will go… But dig in!” She smiled. Until either one of them learnt how to cook properly or they found a chef, they’d have to live off make shift cooking or restaurants. The problem with the latter option is that all the posh places annoyed Maggy as they were always in your face and saying stupid things like “May I take your order”. NO! Go away, it’s my order, I’ll ask for food when I want and you won’t be taking it. That was probably why they had to go to cheaper places most the time, meaning the stuff there wasn’t that healthy, although they’d had a few decent pub meals before. “Hmm… Could have done with more seasoning” After taking a bite and realising that the fish (most likely salmon) was although well cooked, it needed some more salt to it. She couldn’t be bothered to go and grab a barrel of it, and she didn’t know where the grinder had got to. Actually she did, but she wasn’t going to tell Tam where she’d put it. She’d keep her little kit of torture devices on the low to surprise the girl when she was prepared for some sort of interrogation. “I smell burning…” Standing up and walking over to her room, she wondered if she’d turned off the gas cooker, and if not what would be the repercussions of leaving it on for too long. She soon found out the problem with doing that was you ended up melting through the base of another cooking pot and it had to be thrown out once it was cold enough to actually touch. A few moments later she started running out of her room, using a cloth to hold the pan as she moved towards the edge of the ship and threw it over the edge – there were most likely more hidden away somewhere else on the ship anyway. The fire was now out so she wouldn’t be destroying the ship that day, but she certainly knew Tam wouldn’t be so happy, although hopefully she didn’t notice as she was enjoying the meal so much, or so she hoped. Walking back over to the food she sat back down and tucked in again, wondering what was exactly bothering him about it, until it finally clicked in her mind what it was. “Not quite a rib of meat, but it’ll do. Fish is good for you, so I’m happy to take a break from the other stuff. I’m proud of this meal” |

Tam looked apprehensively at Maggy's meal for two reasons while Maggy darted around doing her one-woman Laurel and Hardy routine. Reason number one: Tam was an incredibly picky eater, and when it came to fish, cod was pretty much the only one she wouldn't turn her nose up to despite never having tried any others. Secondly: She didn't want to know what kind of shit Maggy had slipped in there. There could be human brains in it for all Tam knew. Her stomach complained at her hesitance with a loud growl. She hadn't eaten since a basic lunch of a sandwich. She swallowed her pride and cut off a tiny piece and put it in her mouth, braced for the worst. She went into a sudden state of shock and started choking on the piece of fish. "Since when can you cook?!" she shovelled the rest into her mouth in less than a minute and sat back, surprisingly satisfied as she washed the food down with a swig of alcohol. "That was surprisingly good. Bit of practise and that skill could be pretty useful." She took another swig. "Look, it's really late, and Kelly said to rest up, so..." she stood, and walked to the hatch to her room. "I'll be turning in." She opened the hatch and descended the ladder into her room, closing and bolting the hatch behind her. She'd had the bolt installed when she caught Maggy sneaking into her room to sniff her panties and molest her in her sleep, though that last one was a presumption based on conjecture. She looked to her desk; nuts, bolts, tools and scrap metal scattered all over it. Various unfinished devices sat on its surface; a watch that refused to move no matter how much she wound it, a morse code emitter that wouldn't correctly time the intervals, and her age old project of a wrist mounted dart gun that lacked the parts to sense muscle movement as she had envisioned. Among all this was the garrotting cord and its pressure sensor she had pilfered from a trap back in Tellwin City, that she could think of exactly nothing to do with. With a yawn, she stripped down to her panties and sat on the edge of her bed, rubbing her eyes. It had been strange seeing Kelly again. Their goodbye, the last time she'd seen her, had felt very final. It had had a pretty major effect on Tam and her life choices, and she was still confused about parts of it. She slowly turned over, lying on her side on the bed, her breasts flopping down against her arms and the rough sheets. Maybe Kelly was right, they did look bigger, she thought as she drifted off... Dreams came, as they often did. She barely remembered any details of them, only that they always showed the faces of the people she'd killed, haunting her, and often the hulking figure of Claire Roberts in her half-spider form. Tonight's was different, though, as instead of being met by pirates and monsters she instead found herself confronted by a familiar punk girl. She was wearing nothing on her top half but a plain black bra and the choker, the one Tam had given her as a parting gift. Her bottom half was covered by the same pair of trousers she'd been wearing today. Tam was sitting opposite her, completely down to her own purple underwear. Alcohol bottles surrounded them, some empty, some full. The pair both held two cards, and five lay on the ground. A game of poker. The pair each showed their cards, and Tam groaned, while Kelly grinned evilly, flashing her teeth as she laughed like a supervillain. "Booyah! C'mon, Tam, take it off." came Dream-Kelly's voice. Dream-Tam hesitated, but her hands went to the clasps of her bra and undid them. Dream-Kelly whistled as the garment joined Dream-Tam's T-shirt and trousers on the floor. "Niiiiiiice..." Dream-Tam's blush deepened her already rosy cheeks. There was a short, awkward pause, before Dream-Kelly started to move in, and Tam's vision of the dream went blinding white. Tam's eyes slowly worked their way open. Light was shining through the porthole above her bed and straight onto her face. She squinted, and yawned, stretching out on the bed, her hands brushing the headboard. Groaning, she squeezed her eyes shut, curling up into a ball. Nope, no use, no more sleep for her. She groggily turned and dropped her feet over the side of the bed, pulling a small bottle of whiskey from its hiding place underneath it and taking a small sip from it to wake her up. She recapped the bottle and hid it, then blinked a few times before standing up and peeling away her panties and redressing herself, tossing her old clothes from where they lay discarded on the floor into a laundry basket in the corner of the room. She pulled on a pair of black panties, and thought for a moment before reaching for one of her C-cup bras. Putting it on, she sighed. "Never mistrust Kelly's boob vision." Her breasts were noticeably too big for the cups, spilling out over the top. She went braless so much she'd never noticed. She'd need to restock. A small smile played at her lips. Maybe Maggy could use them, presuming Kelly was right about her being a B. Abandoning the bra, she pulled on the outfit she'd got from her Dad, the skirt, the socks, the boots, the sleeves, the revealing top. She ran her fingers through her hair, holstered her guns and climbed up onto the deck. From the sun's position, it was maybe around nine or ten, which made sense. Tam's body clock liked sleeping in. She looked towards Maggy's room, and decided she could sleep for a while more. Tam left the ship and went to explore the island a bit before their noon meeting with Kelly. After over and hour's worth of wandering, she found herself outside the post office, and she walked in. It was empty but for the person behind the desk. He was reading a thick looking book. Tam walked up to him, and he looked up in a bored, can't you see I'm busy? kind of way. "Don't s'pose you have anything addressed to Tamerarius Hilaris?" He cocked his head, as if to say Do I really have to get up for this teenage girl in a slutty outfit?, but dragged himself to the boxes at the back and rummaged a bit before pulling out a letter and passing it to her under the glass. "Anything else?" Tam thought for a moment, "Uh... stamps?" he slid them towards her, and she gave him a coin. She took the letter and the stamps, thanked him, and left. She pulled open the envelope and read as she walked. The date at the top read the fifth of May, three days prior. Tam, the letter began... I hope all is well with you and Magdalene. Did you manage to find your friend? Did anything else exciting happen? All is fairly standard on my end. Nothing but sneak thieves and tax evaders. Not that I'm complaining, but we seem to be flat out of spider monsters since you left. Victoria Roberts is still in hiding, but I think anyone would be after discovering that one of their parents was a killer who took out not only many people, but members of their family. Mr. Tony Sykes' funeral passed yesterday. Very few attended, fewer truly understood why or how he died. Only that woman that Magdalene got on well with, Delphilia Oaks, seemed truly interested in the matter, and harassed me for half an hour about it. The official story is that he died of food poisoning, but I doubt anyone truly believes that. The lengths we go to to make sure people aren't up at night terrified to death of the fact that Devil Fruits really exist... The cleanup crew also finished work on the Roberts' house. It looks as good as new, and is now up for sale, along with many of the possessions therein. So in all, everything's quiet. Just plain old normality. Be sure to send a reply soon, I feel I'll die of boredom without your unusual nature to keep things interesting. All the best, Élise Au Juin P.S. I've enclosed a copy of the photograph Beatrice took of the three of us. Tam smiled. It was nice to hear from Élise, a member of the Women's League on Ketsuraku Island. They'd basically lived together while she was in Tellwin, and had agreed to exchange letters to keep in touch. Tam pulled the photo out from behind the letter. It was slightly faded, but it was still easy to make out three girls standing in front of the harbour in Tellwin City. Tam stood at the front, a huge grin on her face and her arm around the shoulders of a slightly awkward looking girl with navy blue hair. That would be Élise. Maggy stood slightly to the right of them, from the perspective of the photographer, naturally paying no attention to the fact she was having her photo taken and looking off to the side at God-knows-what. She slid both the letter and the picture back into the envelope and returned to the ship. Once back in her room, Tam took up a piece of paper and a pen and went to write her reply, but hesitated. From what Kelly had said, surely there'd be more interesting stuff to come. No, she'd write her reply later. Instead, she grabbed her journal from her desk drawer and began to write in that, scrawling the date and beginning her entry. Well, we found Kelly. She's in good spirits and definitely still a pervert... She kept writing for quite a while before finally remembering her appointment and closing the book, placing it in the drawer and returning to the deck, walking up to Maggy's door and knocking. "Maggy, you awake yet? We've got to meet Kelly soon." |

“Only my best for you dearest” Maggy shot the girl a grin before finishing off her own meal. It was indeed decent, and she could live with that sort of food if she managed to make it again, not that it would be a substitute for her thirst for blood quite literally. She was happy with the compliment she was given and there was no way that she would be forgetting it any time soon, and would happily bring it up whenever she needed to use it, most likely to win an argument. “Alright, enjoy your night! I guess I’ll sleep too then” With that she watched the girl go to her room, and she began to formulate a plan. A while ago she’d made herself a secret hatch entrance to the girl’s room meaning at any time she wished she could simply go and see her. She’d heard the lock go and was tempted to slip into her room via her own route and marvel at her through the night, but she also knew she herself needed sleep and although she could work on little sleep, she needed her beauty sleep. With that Maggy entered her captain’s quarters, her room of marvelousness. Slipping off her boots she dropped onto the ground barefoot, wiggling her toes about to enjoy the softness of the carpet, the small strands of material reaching between each toe and cooling them and comforting them after a long day in high heeled boots, just like every day. This sort of thing had become a funny little ritual for her, a moment of bliss before she had a nice sleep with a nice dream. Walking over to her soft double bed she picked up one of her two long pillows, separating the stack and revealing her pyjamas. A few more moments later and the bloodthirsty psycho stood there in her pyjamas, they were light blue and had little brown bears on them. Originally they’d been normal bears but after Maggy took a crayon to her clothing they now were all missing their heads and spewing blood everywhere. Her top and bottom half of her clothing matched, both with the pattern, the blue background and the length reaching to the wrists and ankles on her arms and legs respectively. On her feet were bunny slippers, handmade by her after she found the two on Ketsuraku island and decided they’d make nice slippers. It had been a lot of effort gutting the two and making sure not to cut their pelts, but the finished result was great, and they were super soft too. Replacing her pillow to be stacked two high again, she looked at the duvet, the long bump going down one side which would have looked a little like a person was in her bed if not for the fact it was completely flat. She threw back the covers, revealing one of her prized possessions she had on the ship. Jumping into bed she snuggled up to her “Tamerarius Hilaris body pillow”. It was a normal looking version of her apart from the same crayons used for Maggy’s pyjamas had also been used to draw on demonic horns and wings, an interpretation of what she expected the girl to look like when going full demon form, whenever she eventually did. “Night night my sweet princess” She curled up to the pillow a little more, practically spooning with it now, and shut her eyes, blocking out all her thoughts of wanting to go check her mini fridge and find something to eat. She could hear the head of some guy she’d found calling to her, yelling her name, asking to find peace in her stomach. Of course she loved the cries and it merely worked as a lullaby to help her to sleep, she wasn’t even hungry after a meal like the one she’d had. Just like many of her other dreams, Maggy woke in a room of crimson. Streaks of it covered the wall and it all seemed to be spinning. In front of her she could make out shapes, humanoid shapes. She could hear their yelling, all mixed together. Some yelled for mercy whilst others wanted to be put out of their misery, and of coupe she would oblige. This was no lucid dream though, and her control over it was very minimal, however her inner thoughts were showing her a scene of massacre, and as the people were torn to pieces she couldn’t help but wonder how long these dreams would go on for. The scene changed, however it was clear she was still in a dream due to the high amount of red, and she didn’t have that in her room unfortunately. This time she was outside on the ship, although the name always escaped her. The sky was read and the clouds were black, there was a warm wind carrying the rich scent of blood and it made her mouth water. As she looked about she could see a creature with horns and wings beside her, the brown hair of hers was defying gravity slightly and her clothing was different, a lot more revealing than before. Tam had become a demon, and she was bringing about the end. Maggy’s eyes opened and she was back in her room. She cursed loudly at her bad luck, wishing she’d been able to keep it going for a little longer. A sigh left her mouth, she wanted to experience them both more, in fact she wanted them to happen, although the first Tam had told her not to do. They weren’t allowed hostages and if they did get some in the form of pirates they had to stay alive. A great shame really. Listening out she heard movement outside and realised that the demon girl was already on her way out, although she hadn’t said bye or anything. She pouted a little and sat up in bed, another good day awaited her. Still in her pyjamas Maggy walked over to one of her drawers and pulled out a small plastic cup, containing a tooth brush and a tube of toothpaste. Walking over to her fridge she opened it and took a deep breath, allowing the smell to wake her up a bit, before pushing past the odd item inside to find a water bottle she’d stored away. Pouring it into the cup she put some toothpaste on the brush and dunked it in the water, and then began to scrub at her teeth. She could taste the bacon flavour of the toothpaste, she preferred it to mint which had been another option when purchasing her living equipment. After cleaning up her teeth and leaving her room briefly to clean the cup out in the ocean, she returned to her sanctuary and stored everything away, going up to her wardrobe to have a little look for something to wear. The wooden construction was full to the brim with different types of clothing and outfits. Usually it was a challenge to decide what to wear, but knowing they were going to meet Kelly at a pub she decided to wear something casual. She pulled out a low cut long sleeve t-shirt and some skinny jeans, along with black underwear and some black socks. She wasn’t emo or anything with all the black, she merely liked the colour. As she finished changing into her clothing and slipping on her boots she heard a noise outside, the sound of her beloved returning and attempting to wake already alert woman. She poked her head out of her room and smiled before leaving her room properly, shutting the door behind her and walking across the floor of the ship. She was excited to learn what exactly they would be seeing at this pub. Perhaps it was an underground armoury which contained loads of weapons, or maybe it was some sort of dungeon where they kept people they captured, or whatever other uses they could find for a place like that. “Of course I’m awake. Are you?” She questioned the girl as if she didn’t know the answer, although it was of course in jest (mostly). Feeling a little peckish she walked over to the table where they’d left their dirty dishes and noticed she hadn’t finished off all her salad the night before, and so quickly picked up a fork and skewered a potato, tomato and a little bit of lettuce too. She looked at the beauty of it before sticking it in her mouth and then throwing the piece of cutlery to one side. It wouldn’t be enough to keep her fed for long, but if they were going to a pub they could get something to eat there. “Alright let’s go. Say, what do you think she’s going to show us?” Edited by Gigasheep, Aug 25 2015, 09:35 AM.

Tam took a moment to take in Maggy's look for the day: surprisingly casual. Smelt of dead rabbit for some reason. Her voice showed few signs of tiredness. Tam sometimes wondered if Maggy even needed to sleep and just spent her nights peeping on various people and imagining violently disembowelling them. Maggy's answer to Tam's already answered question came quickly enough, “Of course I’m awake. Are you?” Tam looked down at herself, "So it would seem." “Alright let’s go." Tam started walking down the gangplank, leading the way towards the pub (which she'd taken the time to locate during her little stroll earlier). "Say, what do you think she’s going to show us?” Tam thought for a moment. "I have no idea. Knowing her, it could be anything from a pot of gold, to her favourite drink, to her collection of exotic fluffy... you know what? Forget it." The town seemed fully awake by this point, not that it had been empty earlier. People were milling around the harbour the Odyssey was docked in, going about their various tasks. Haggling, loading, unloading, browsing vessels, taking pictures... Being from a harbour town herself, the bustling feel of the area made her feel at ease, like she was back home. The Pirate's Bounty Inn stood proudly on the seafront, so it took them not very long at all to reach it. Walking through the door, Tam was immediately confronted by warmth, the comforting smell of alcohol and the sound of lots of people talking to each other. The place was packed. Tam scanned the room with her eyes before finally spotting Kelly, waving her hand in the air from the bar. Tam manoeuvred her way through the crowd of people in the bar and dumped herself in the stool that Kelly had just pulled her bag from. Kelly was dressed the same as yesterday, but her hair was different. Same style, spiked differently. Random was kind of her thing. "You made it!" she spoke loudly to be heard over the noise. "Oh, I couldn't miss whatever world-ending scheme your were cooking up if I tried!" Kelly laughed. "What are you wearing, by the way?" Tam went a bit red. "Long story. From Dad." Kelly raised her eyebrows but didn't question. The barkeeper, a guy who looked quite young, early twenties maybe, walked over to them. Kelly yelled to him, "She'll have a randy nudist on the beach?" "I'll what?!" the barkeeper looked at her with a smirk. "It's a cocktail." Tam rolled her eyes. Why couldn't anyone call their alcoholic shit something normal? "Does she want it here, or...?" Kelly simply shook her head, and the barkeeper nodded and walked back to start making a drink. "What was...?" "Long story. You two come with me." She stood up and started pushing through the crowd. Still confused, Tam followed hot on her heels. They walked through a door into a room marked 'TOILETS', and Kelly closed the door behind them, the noise of the rest of the inn now muffled. Tam took a quick look around. Long rectangular corridor, door on the left marked 'GENTS', door on the right with faded text reading 'LAIDES' that had red writing scrawled over it reading 'BITCHES'. An out of place looking grandfather clock stood at the end of the room. Kelly cleared her throat. "Oh, God, I hate how fucking busy this place gets around noon. Throat fucking kills." Tam paused. "So... what are we doing by the toilets?" "What d'ya think?" Kelly grinned evilly. "YURI THREESOME!" she went to jump at Tam, who jumped backwards just as she realised Kelly was only pretending to jump at her. "Nah, I'm shitting ya. Fantastic reaction, though, first class." Slightly annoyed, Tam asked, "So what ARE we bloody here for then?" Kelly pointed past her. "See that clock?" Tam looked at it, "Yeah?" "What time is it?" Tam looked. It was around twelve, she knew, but the clock said half eight. "W-well... it's twelve o'clock." Kelly nodded encouragingly. "Oh? And what time is it definitely not?" "Half past eight?" "Good, great." "So... the clock's broken?" "It isn't fucking broken. It just isn't showing the right time." "Whoa, okay, no need to be rude." "What time did school used to start?" Tam tilted her head. "Half eight?" Kelly stepped back and said nothing. Tam had a crazy idea. She walked up to the clock face and rotated the hands, the long one to the twelve and the short one to the three - three o'clock. When school ended. There was a click, and the door on the front of the clock clicked open, revealing a passageway behind it. "Still sharp, Tam." Kelly gave a thumbs up, and ducked into the passage. Tam looked towards Maggy, still confused as all hell. "After you." Edited by Ludus_Defectio, Oct 30 2015, 02:28 PM.

Maggy followed happily behind Tam, looking about at all the buildings and people and occasionally looking down at the girl’s backside just because it made her happy. She had no idea where to go so she was trusting that her demonic friend had a vague idea, otherwise they’d merely walk in circles for a while and eventually conclude they were lost. As much as she liked the idea of being lost with her, they also had a meeting to attend and she generally liked to be on times for things like that. After a little while of walking they finally came across a bar which apparently the right one and she was dragged inside. The place had a typical bar feel, with the slightly dim lighting, with a lot of people crowding around the bar. The majority were male, however there was the odd female milling around. She was used to this sort of place, having spent a lot of her youth enjoying drink alongside alcoholics and people trying to drown their sorrows. It was a rather enjoyable place to spend time in a place filled with such sorrow, but here it didn’t seem to have that same mood. People were happy… Odd. “I’ll certainly have what she’s having!” Maggy smiled at the barkeep who didn’t seem to share her sense of humour. Still a drink was a drink and this one sounded rather interesting. She was looking forwards to seeing what exactly the drink would end up being, however then she was instructed to leave the bar and follow Kelly to wherever she wanted to take them. It was a little bit too busy to easily follow them, but she knew that she wouldn’t lose them, she had a mental link with Tam which meant that she could always sense her. A moment later and they were stood in the hallway to the toilets. It seemed simple enough, although why they were stood around in a place such as that one was an odd question. It might have merely been for privacy however she suspected something else. Maybe she had actually eaten a devil fruit herself and gained those animal powers like the others and so was showing it to them here to not cause fear to anyone else. Although it was more likely she had one locked up somewhere. As she yelled some random stuff, Maggy realised that Tam would have to be shared if she didn’t disagree, and she wasn’t very good at things like that. Her guard went up and she bared her teeth, although due to them being friends she didn’t make any offensive moves. A moment later Kelly was hastily admitting that she hadn’t been serious about it – Just like I thought, now move along. She knew she’d need to keep an eye on this oddball, although she had a few intriguing factors which would make her want to focus on her, not just because of her attraction to her partner. For example the tattoo’s and the hair, plus there was a chance she was a demon too. As she thought about it the two of them began talking about something or other, nothing too interesting thus she didn’t pay much attention to it. There was some mention of school which practically disgusted her. Not many people had talked to her back then and so she didn’t like those memories. That gave her an idea, if those people had been so horrible to her then maybe she should have tracked them down and let them know why that was a bad idea. If they were heading to her home at some point then perhaps she could find something interesting or useful. She was pretty sure she used to keep a diary so perhaps their names could have been in there or something like that, which would aid her assault on these people a lot. Getting back to the point, people had avoided her when she was in school, and it never bothered her but she still liked the idea of getting revenge and giving them the odd nightmare, if they survived her assault. As she planned on how to get to each and everyone one of them, she noticed a doorway open up in front of her through a gap in the clock. It seemed to be a passage which led to some sort of staircase or something which was a little bit confusing to her. She hadn’t seen the gap there before, so when had it appeared? After a little thinking about what the cause of this gap in the wall was caused by, she decided that it must have been created by demonic magic, coming from the two of them combined as they both were demons. She’d concluded that this Kelly was a low ranking demon, and actually a slave to Tam who was leader of all the others. There would have been a massive duel where they all fought to try and see who was strongest, and through strength and ability, the leader of all demons had been elected. What followed was a little hard to work out though, she’d come to the surface for some reason and now didn’t have access to her full power. “Yeah sure. This is all very intriguing isn’t it?” The idea of going into a secret lair which had magically appeared was all very weird. She looked at the doorway and then ducked inside, following a little corridor before reaching the stairs. It wasn’t very well lit however so she didn’t know if she’d fall going down the stairs. Stepping carefully down the stairs she made sure not to lose her footing, following Kelly and making sure she stayed in view. She had reached the bottom of the stairs already and so was waiting for the other two to follow. Eventually she reached the bottom of the stairs and entered the room, looking around and inspecting the room she whistled. “Pretty interesting place you guys got going her. Not seen something like this for a while. Brings back memories really” |

Tam ducked into the passage behind Maggy, closing the clock door behind her. She heard a whirring sound, maybe the hands spinning into a random position. She noted a green button labeled 'RELEASE', which was one of the main reasons she wasn't panicking about being stuck in a tunnel with a perv and a psycho. At the bottom of the stairs, the corridor opened out into a large stone room. Stone floor, stone walls, stone ceiling. Looked like a dungeon, until you saw the huge glass tank of water up against the far wall, plus a number of soft chairs scattered around and the large round table in the centre of the room. A large cardboard box sat in the corner. Tam, Kelly and Maggy weren't the only ones in the room, though. A chubby girl floated in the tank, except from her hips, where her legs should have been, a huge blue tail sprouted. Another girl with bright white hair (an albino?) was clad entirely in metal armour other than her bare feet and hands, a blue cape flowing out behind her. Another girl was in a tank top and had shaved the hair down on the right side of her head. Tons of bracelets clinked about on her wrists. There were guys too: one guy was dressed formally, black trousers and a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, plus a purple waistcoat. His eyes were a bright ruby red. Another guy wore a long blue coat clearly designed for winter. Tam took a step back as she laid eyes on a guy in a hawaiian shirt and shorts who had a thick tail sprouting from behind him and a shark's head. A fishman, clearly, but Tam hadn't seen one before. The barkeeper from upstairs walked through a door at the side of the room carrying two drinks in martini glasses on a tray, which he set on the table. The whole group was chatting happily, but turned to look at Kelly, Tam and Maggy as they entered, going quiet. The guy with the waistcoat and red eyes walked up to Tam and looked at her uncomfortably closely. "Well, well." his voice sounded strangely high in pitch, smooth. If snow could talk, it'd probably sound like him. Tam could see his teeth - round and sharp, all identical. "You've dragged some unusual people in here, spike, but these two seem far too normal for you." the girl in armour walked up behind him, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him away, reprimanding him like a mother. "People have personal space, Ruby, and you are to stay out of it." she looked at Tam. "Nice guns. I recommend shooting him as revenge for such an insult." The guy in the long coat grunted. "I second the motion." 'Ruby' looked part offended, part scared for his life as he addressed Tam again. "No! Please, I meant nothing by it!" Tam just stood there giving the whole lot a funny look until Kelly finally decided to take charge, clapping her hands together and moving between the group and Tam. "Right! Okay, so... Steele, if you could just... let Ruby go, we can get on with this? Right?" 'Steele' obliged. "Okay, cool, good. Introductions." she turned to Tam. "We don't use real names here, okay? Code names. So, I'm Spike. You're Bolts," she pointed to Maggy, "And she's... uh... what works for her?" Tam nodded knowingly, "Blood." Kelly nodded. "Fair dos. Blood. Why not? Ahem, anyway, everyone else in the room already knows each other. You've already know Ruby and Steele..." she pointed to the armoured girl and the red-eyed guy. "Gal in the tank's Whale, the fishman's Dorsal. Gent in the long coat's Freeze, the lovely lady with half a haircut's Bat. Finally, our resident barman and owner of this fine establishment, Booze." the man grunted, clearly not pleased with his nickname. "Righty, that's everyone. Any questions?" Tam mocked thought for a moment. "Oh, right, I've got one. What the fuck is going on?" Bat laughed. "Oh, I like this bitch already." Dorsal nodded. "Spike, did you seriously not even tell them what this whole thing is?" Kelly shrugged. "Everyone loves surprises. Speaking of which..." she walked over to the box in the corner, still having not explained. Steele walked over to them and did so instead. "Essentially, we are all bounty hunters. A team. We share profits, and do a share of the work each." Tam nodded with realisation, "Oh! That makes sense. Ma... Blood and I have that kind of thing going as well." Steele nodded. "Yes, I saw the papers. Good job." Tam was slightly concerned that the whole code name thing had slipped already just from their appearance, but it probably wasn't that big a deal. |

Maggy liked the idea of secret meetings, but this felt like another level of cool. She could imagine a special meeting going on there where they discussed what they were going to do about those pesky pirates which kept attacking towns. The water tank was rather odd, and so was the girl inside. She’d heard rumours that fish people existed, but this attractive mermaid certainly proved that they existed. She looked like she’d eaten a little bit too many shrimp but that didn’t change the fact she was a rare specimen of uniqueness. Looking around she spotted another girl with a weird hairstyle and another in armour. It made her wonder if she had the ability to break that armour, but it looked surprisingly good for the bulkiness. Perhaps metal was back in fashion? She looked over the armour, questioning the lack of gloves or shoes, but forgot about it when she noticed quite how blue the cloak was, it was a good choice of blue. Moving onto the guys, she inspected them all. The one that stood out the most was the fishman. She’d never seen one of those either, and he certainly was different. He looked cool though, and she could imagine him being rather viscous in a fight. She wouldn’t have minded watching him tearing someone to shreds. Moving on to the next guy, he wore some more upper class clothing and seemed to be interested in Tam, however due to her pure power, he was warded away and even seemed to be begging for mercy. Show him no mercy! Aim for the head. Finally there was the guy with the long coat which although didn’t suit the weather, it looked good on him and so she wouldn’t question it. She’d noticed that the barman from earlier had walked in, but didn’t question it, and instead listened to what was being said. As she listened to the conversation she accepted the name she’d been given by her partner in crime (fighting) and smiled, she liked blood, so that nickname would be nice. The names of each person was being said so that the two newcomers would know what to call everyone, and she had complete confidence in herself that she’d forget every single one of them, plus she’d end up using Tam’s real name anyway. Now that that little interlude had happened, she began to think about what sort of thing could have been in the box which was being shown to them all. It could have contained anything from a bomb to a map of the world. Of course it could have also contained information on why they had all been called there. They were all bounty hunters she knew that much, but if they were hunting pirates then why would they need that much organisation. All pirates were just stupid, so why did they need a big group with a plan, simply plant a few explosives under them and victory was as good as theirs. Then again, what they lacked in brain they sometimes made up for in strength. Plus some had a little bit of intellect so she couldn’t bad mouth them all, just most of them. Now as conversation continued, she heard mention of herself and then their success as bounty hunters. Of course they had been successful, it was the beautiful Magdalene Dark and her partner Tamerarius Hilaris working together to take down great foes. How could they ever lose? They were both strong and if they ever came across any sort of challenge that was getting too much they had some demonic power in reserve to fight back. Overall they couldn’t and wouldn’t lose. “If you’ve called us here to kill some people I’m in” She hadn’t spoken much yet, so she felt like she needed to have some sort of input on the conversation, so of course she tried her best to show people she was more than happy to join the fights. She wouldn’t have minded a fight right about now, beat some people up and show her dominance, that sort of thing. Looking around to everyone in the room, she wondered if any of them would be worth duelling, or properly fighting, either worked. She was confident that she could win against any of them, although she didn’t know which she’d most enjoy fighting. Maybe one of the fish people because she wanted to know how exactly they fought, and also a little more about them. After all they were part fish, and that was cool. Thinking about creatures being half fish made the psychopath wonder a little, mostly how they had been created in the first place but also how their rights were compared to humans when it came to marines. She expected and sort of hoped it would be the same. She might have liked murder but she was no monster and she knew that all human creatures should have been treated equal, even if they weren’t full human. She felt this way because then she could have just as much fun when she murdered them and wouldn’t be seen as a racist or anything, she’d merely be a murderer which she loved being. “So… We all seem to know each other, but the question here is what’s in the box?” Maggy grinned from ear to ear, she had been thinking a little bit about the box for a while and because nobody had spoken about it she kind of expected everyone to have forgotten about it. Not only that but people might not have expected her to have noticed it, so now she got to surprise them a little bit with her observational skills, which could easily be transferred into the field of battle and justice. “Boxes are mysterious, it could contain anything from weaponry, to information booklets to cats which could be dead or alive. We simply don’t know till it’s opened.” With that she leaned in a little bit and inspected the shape of the box in case she could work out from that what it contained before anybody opened it. From the shape of it she really couldn’t tell, and until she found out it would bug her. She was gonna shout at someone if it wasn’t opened soon, however she knew better than to open it herself out of politeness. She was a very polite person after all. |

Just as Tam was beginning to ponder whether Maggy actually understood Schrödinger's cat, Kelly pulled something from the box and held it up for the group to see. It was a skintight suit, not unlike the one Maggy had been wearing when Tam first met her, with a hood. The torso part was dark purple, with black sleeves and legs barring a purple strip around the thighs, forearms and from the shin downwards. A zip ran up the right hand side starting at the hip. There was a symbol on the right shoulder - nut and bolt. "Tah-da!" Kelly exclaimed, beaming. "Compliments of Seamy!" Bat rolled her eyes. "Ugh. You don't seriously expect us to wear those?" Kelly gave her 'yup, that incredibly dumb thing is exactly my intention' grin. "I most certainly do. Dark colours, skin-tightness contributing to unhindered movement. Perfect for our upcoming mission." Freeze grunted again. "A mission you've been building up relentlessly for the last few days without actually explaining." Kel waved him down. "Eh, I'll explain it after. Now, let's see how these look on a person!" she looked at the symbol on the sleeve and threw it at Tam, "That one's yours." Tam barely managed to catch it. The outer material was rough, and it had a fair bit of weight to it. She looked back to Kelly, who was looking at her. "Go on." Tam looked over her shoulder towards the entrance. No hiding spots there. Looked back to the rest of the room. No hiding spots there. "Honestly, you're disgusting." Steele approached Tam and gestured with a nod of the head. "In the corner. I'll cover you." Tam gave her a smile. She was liking this Steele girl. Reliable. Tam moved to the corner and Steel faced away from her, blocking her from view by spreading her cloak wide. Tam wasted no time as she pulled her top over her head and her skirt off. She replaced it with the new garment. Though the exterior material was pretty tough, the inside was lined with some really soft material, coloured blood red. As she slid the garment on, it became apparent that the suit fit nothing short of perfectly. The material pressed tightly against her skin, more snugly than uncomfortably, and the overall experience was like wearing a sleeping bag. The upper section of the torso came complete with built-in bra cups, which fit perfectly. She did up the zip, and as her breasts pressed against the material, two bumps formed on the front. Her cheeks reddened. She pulled on her belts and boots and heaped her clothes into a ball. She tapped Steele on the shoulder and moved past her. Ruby's eyes were glued to the small bulges on the front of her chest. "Tell Seamy I like the design." A small trickle of red left his nose, which turned into a gush as Steele's armoured elbow connected with his nose with a crack. He went down wailing, but everyone ignored him. "Well! As we can see the new uniform works, so let's all suit up!" It took a few minutes, but soon the whole group had negotiated their way into a suit. While she waited, Tam went to the table and grabbed the drink Booze had brought from the table and downed it in one. Immediately, she doubled over. "Holy shit! What's in that stuff, fermented gunpowder?" It was like swallowing liquid fireworks. It took her a second to get over the experience, but when she did Tam held up the cloak for Steel, who dressed last having covered everyone (but Kelly) from view as they changed. Tam had a quick look at the symbols on their shoulders. Freeze was a butterfly, Steele a dagger, Bat had a baseball bat (Which was funny, Tam had taken bat to mean the flying thing), Ruby had a gemstone. Booze had a martini glass, Dorsal had one of those bear trap things, Kelly had a tattoo pen and Whale (who still hadn't said a word) had a whale's tail fin. The only person without a symbol was Maggy, whose shoulder was bare. Bat cleared her throat. "Now's about a good time to get to explaining what the fuck is going on, eh?" Kelly nodded with a smile. "Right you are, Bat, right you are." she pulled a small envelope from the box the clothes had been in and waved it around. "Bug got back to me." now everyone was suddenly interested. "What did he say?" "What are they planning?" "You don't mean?" "Right, right calm down." Steele, as always, explained. "Bug's our espionage guy. We slipped him into the Nightshade Pirates a few months back and he's been doing some spying." It took Tam a second to remember. "OH, I remember. Last year, they tried to occupy Loguetown." "And they damn near succeeded." Freeze's monotone voice rung out. "No one member of that crew is anyone you should be taking on alone. They are that strong." Kelly cleared her throat again. "Right, yeah, anyway. The Nightshade Pirates. In this letter, bug said that Nelly's decided to have a little homecoming celebration." there was silence. "No way..." Bat's face showed equal fear and anticipation, while the others' faces showed dread much more prominently. "Yup, you heard me right." Kelly said with a grim smile. "The Nightshade Pirates are coming to Hitsuji Archipelago." |

Ohhhh, I get it. The penny dropped in Maggy’s mind as she suddenly understood why everyone had these names. Each name represented something about them, whether it be an interest or look or item they carried around. She hadn’t quite clicked on before but now she did. Damn it felt good realising things. Looking up at the box which had just been opened, she saw some clothing being pulled out. It was weird looking at it due to it being rather familiar, she wore it quite often, but this stuff was purple and had a hood. She hadn’t ever thought of trying to attach a hood or something; that would have been a good idea to have hidden her even better in the shadows, although it was now her style so she wouldn’t change it. Looking at the purple and black clothing, she saw it tossed to Tam who was told to change. A moment later she was stripping in the corner, the girl in armour blocking any sort of view. Maggy was quite tempted to try and sneak a peek, but that armour girl didn’t seem to want to budge, and the protection was plenty bulky enough to prevent a view without some difficult manoeuvre, and she was feeling on the lazy side. Instead she tilted her body a little to see if she could find an angle to see where she stood, and after realising she couldn’t she remained in her spot, sighing a little with disappointment and her arms crossed. A moment later the outfit was on and Tam was showing them what it looked like. It looked snug, leaving very little breathing room but therefore maximising flexibility for any sort of upcoming fight or something, which apparently could be a thing, otherwise what would the point in them be? She heard a brief shout from someone and noticed something in the corner of her eye but decided to ignore it… That was until her brain processed there had been a stream of red. She spun on her heels (heh) and moved swiftly over towards the heap on the floor. Ruby looked up at her hopefully, as if someone had finally acknowledged him, and in response she didn’t even notice that, instead crouching next to him and dipping a finger in the small pool of blood which had been created on the floor. After a brief taste she stuck her tongue out and made an unhappy noise, before walking back to where she had previously stood, completely ignoring the man on the floor. As she got back to where she had stood, she noticed a bulk of purple was pushed towards her. On quick inspection she realised in fact she had also been given an outfit. It surprised her a little that her and Tam were being given them, and even personalised at least for the demon, how had they known they’d be there? If there was someone that could make outfits that fast she wanted to ask them some things. She liked all the symbols on the shoulders though, they were a nice touch. Hers was blank most likely because they knew she worked in the dark and nobody would see her coming before their deaths. Nice. Slipping out of her clothing in the middle of the room, simply flinging her long sleeve t-shirt across the room, accidentally hitting someone. She heard a slight yelp and a crash, but paid no attention, as if something in her brain wasn’t telling her something about whoever had made the noise. Perhaps it knew it would annoy her? To remove her jeans she had to do that little jig/dance that many people had to do to get out of them, but eventually she managed to get them off (not before removing her boots though). Once that was done she quickly slipped on the new outfit, pulling it up her like a onesie and once she was confident it was on properly she did up the zip. “Looking good. No pockets though…” Pouting a little she dropped her possessions she’d been carrying, in the pockets of her jeans and any other hiding spot she could find, into the top half of the clothing, rearranging it a little so it didn’t really show. She had a knack for hiding things. Slipping back into her boots she began to make a few combat stances, including crouching, kicking and punching, the latter one she didn’t do often. Looking over at the nearby table she realised that her and Tam had both forgotten about the drinks, and so she followed the girl’s lead and had some of it. She took a small sip, and then another, and then downed the whole thing, wiping her upper lip with the sleeve of her fresh new clothing. “Not bad, I like it.” With that she slammed the empty mug down onto the table and stretched her back a little, allowing the alcohol to swim through her digestive system, if that’s where it even went. She’d found out from the multiple time she’d seen peoples guts that food went down the throat to the stomach and then kind of squished and went into the intestines. Intestines were fun. As she began to think about people’s innards, she was yanked back into the real world but a commotion starting. Something about espionage attracted her attention, and from what she could understand some pirate crew was being fooled by the bounty hunters. Pirates sure were stupid. “Did someone say pirates?” She’d only just realised, if they were talking about pirates then she could get excited. It could imply more killing of silly people that made mistakes, and were just asking to be beaten up. Kelly proceeded, talking about someone called Nelly… Wait… Didn’t Tam say something about her earlier? Before she could figure that out she realised what the next thing she had said was. Pirates were coming. With that Maggy leaped into the air, punching it at the same time and laughing maniacally: “WOOH! We get to kill some guys” She landed lightly and quickly made herself professional again by crossing her arms and lowering her head a little, as if she had been enjoying herself too much, even though that wasn’t even possible for her. Nobody could ever have too much fun, especially her. So they were going to fight some strong pirates were they? About time they got to have a slight challenge, although she was confident her and Tam would be able to wipe the floor with these lame-o’s. As she thought about how much she was looking forwards to killing some pirates, the thought from earlier returned. Nelly. Hadn’t her demon buddy spoken of that person earlier? She had joked about that person being someone evil or something, being related to the guy in the warehouse. She stopped moving for a second to really think and not allow anything else to take up energy in her body apart from her mind. If she’d said about Nelly… And Maggy herself had joked about some underground armour, and both had been true… Then that mean Tam had used her demon powers to see the future, and now they were rubbing off on the assassin herself! Perfect. |

Everyone's eyes were on Maggy, the crazy woman jumping for joy at the thought of a good old murder session. "Well, points for enthusiasm." came Dorsal's dorsal tones, which were swiftly met by Freeze's monotone. "Enthusiasm will win you nothing more than a trip to the morgue when you come against the Nightshade Pirates. They-" a shoe hit him on the side of the head, and he turned to the thrower. "Oh, shut the fuck up!" came the voice of said thrower, Bat, who had taken a seat on one of the plush chairs, her feet crossed on the table in front of her. "I've heard less doom and fucking gloom from fucking nihilists!" Tam looked to Kelly, who was watching kind of bemusedly as her rowdy mates yelled at each other, Freeze insisting they weren't taking this seriously enough, Bat telling him to, quote, 'calm his tits.' "Quite the team." Tam whirled, and found herself face-to-chest with Dorsal, who'd moved behind her. He was massive, easily at least a foot taller than her. Probably. The teeth and muscles didn't help the intimidation factor. He gave a light chuckle. "Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Tam swallowed. "You get nosebleeds up there?" He snorted. "Heard it." Tam shrugged as she backed away a step. "Well, that's all I got. But yeah, this is quite the team. How do they manage to work together?" Dorsal shrugged. "Search me." Kelly had joined in now, but she sounded more final in her delivery, "Both of you shut up before I chloroform you and tattoo massive hairy cocks on your foreheads!" Silence finally was restored to the room. Apparently that was a serious threat here. Kelly took a breath. "Okay, cool. So yeah, here's the plan. There're twenty douchebags in the crew, plus Bug." Ruby's weedy voice said, "Twenty one douchebags then." an impact sound, a yelp, and the sound of someone hitting the floor. Everyone ignored it. "We've got 8 regular crewmen," "Who are just as dangerous-" "Don't start, Freeze. Then there are the five scouts, who do recon work. They all use zoan-type Devil Fruits that turn them into cats." Not much of a response there. Apparently everyone here had already accepted Devil Fruits were real. Something clicked in Tam's mind. "Would one of them happen to be a persian cat?" All eyes were on hers, Freeze's ice glare being particularly intense. "How do you know that?" Wow. Nail on the head. That was why Kel had dragged them along to this little meetup. Tam decided to play it cool, shrugging. "Killed some arsehole who answered to a Mistress Noire and sported white ears and a tail last night. Me and Blood, that is." The look in Freeze's eyes was mostly disbelief, but there was some fear in there. "You're lying." A voice rang out from outside the group. A voice as beautiful and clear as a church bell, smooth as velvet, but powerful as a volcano. "She isn't." Everyone turned to the source of the voice. That source was Whale, the heavyset mermaid in the water tank at the side of the room. She didn't say anything else. Everyone turned back to staring at Tam, some at Maggy. Kelly broke the silence quickly. "Why do you think I invited them? Anyway, as I was saying-" Freeze was on his feet and walked up to Tam. He was taller than her, and look down his nose at her. "How?" He actually looked kind of angry. Tam moved her gaze to Maggy and winked with her left eye, then pulled her steel pistol from its holster and without even taking a moment to aim fired a shot past Freeze. It sailed through the air and hit an empty can of beer on the table, sending it flying into the air in Maggy's direction. Please, Tam thought, let her do something badass to that can. |

Maggy didn’t really notice the stares which were aimed at her as she thought about how she could kill all the pirates which had been previously mentioned. She hadn’t gotten to torture many people recently and was slightly missing it, so maybe she’d get some time with them one on one. If not then a little bit of a bloodbath was fine by her, as long as she got to have some fun and her opportunities weren’t taken away by the people that surrounded them, otherwise there would be quite a bit of trouble. People who kept her away from her next kill usually became her next target, with a few exceptions of course. She was an assassin after all, not a psychopath. The room quickly became a mess of shouting around the bloodthirsty lady, who didn’t pay them all much mind. She could have joined in at any point of course, but it was much more fun to just watch them argue and stress and shout. After a while of all of them shouting and stuff, Tam’s friend came along to try and quieten them all, with threats of rather interesting ideas. She hadn’t ever considered using chloroform, she usually just dragged people along kicking and screaming. Once the room had become chill, the tattoo lady began to explain how things were with the crew. Unlike previous crews which she’d faced, there were no weak underlings, but instead all of them had some sort of strength, worth of being a captain or something, or at least that was how she understood it. She paused and thought about it for a while, did she like the idea of it? Well… It was a challenge and she’d never been one to turn one of those down, especially if it impressed people, and by the looks of things these guys were pretty simple to impress. Everyone had swiftly turned to Tam as she announced that they’d earlier killed someone that was part of the crew. It came as a bit of a surprise to Maggy, but after the brief look of shock she corrected her face, making her mouth become a wry smile and slightly shut eyes to match. They were clearly impressed by her power, why wouldn’t they be? The pair were the strongest out there! She continued her musings for a while longer before the fish tank girl spoke. Maggy shot the fish girl a wink to show she appreciated the support. The audacity these people had, questioning whether what they had managed was true or not. It was good to have some people on their side. Still… The idea of killing all these people was becoming more and more like a reality, they were disagreeing with the great Tam and that shouldn’t have been allowed. As she thought about ways she could get revenge, she noticed a rather flirtatious wink from across the room, coming from her wife to be, the demon queen herself. Like some sort of mind reading genius, Maggy understood exactly what she meant. She was a little disappointed, but nonetheless she was certain it meant “Calm yourself, we can create a plot to kill them later, just play it cool”. In response the incredibly smart assassin nodded slightly, and watched as Tam pulled her gun. As soon as she heard the gunshot, she was ready to react. This was a display of skill and precision, a time to show these no-brainers how cool they really were, and regret ignoring their skill and ability. Maggy could clearly see the can as it flew off the table and towards her general direction, and although it was quick, she felt confident she was quicker as she lunged her had out last second. “Didn’t we tag team him or something?” Maggy grinned, her mouth reaching as far apart as it could and showing off her rather sharp teeth (at least the canines were). In her hand she held the can, despite having not moved at all to the untrained eye. She wasn’t trained when it came to moving her arms quickly, she preferred fighting with kicks and leg movements, however when it came down to it she could pull off the odd stunt, and grabbing a can out of the air wasn’t a massive issue. Tilting her head back, she attempted to pour any remaining drink into her mouth, and then threw the can on the floor. “I stamped right through his lungs!” She couldn’t help but laugh as she brought her foot down onto the tin, her heel piercing it and causing a weird crumpling noise which tin cans did. She turned her foot back and forth as if she was trying to scrape something off of her foot, and after she’d torn the can to shreds, she simply lifted it up with the front of her foot and lightly tapped it into the air, allowing her to catch the carcass of the drinks can. She then tore at it, piece by piece, allowing small pieces of aluminium to drop to the floor like leaves from a tree. “I’d have liked him to live a little longer, or atually put up a fight. Actually I remember him being kind of boring. Had more problems with that spider lady, but we blew her up so it’s fine.” She glanced at Tam, hoping she wouldn’t mention the broken leg incident. It wasn’t exactly a bad thing, she’d broken her own leg. That Elise couldn’t have managed it, nobody could even slightly injure the great Magdalene Dark! She smiled, her name was nice, it suited her well. She looked about, she suddenly had the urge to look in the mirror, she wanted to see how beautiful she was. She’d forgotten to bring a mirror with her because she’d been preoccupied that morning. Dropping the last pieces of the can, she walked over to the tank and smiled. It was a good thing the container reflected light. After a while of smiling at the container, she realised the girl inside might have thought her beauty was aimed at her. Maggy supposed it could have been, the girl was interesting and had backed them up. She gave her a nod and a quiet thank you, before turning back to the crowd of people who had been watching her and Tam carefully. What now? She paused for a moment, before remembering the phrase you were meant to use: “Ta-dah!” |

Tam, much like everyone else in the room, just stared and blinked slowly. Tam had been hoping for something as simple as stabbing the can in midair, but... well, this worked too. Typical Maggy, overkill. Tam cleared her throat. "We're good." She blew the smoke from the barrel of her gun and holstered it. Freeze quietly backed off, trying to let the action go unnoticed. Kelly broke the silence, clearing her throat. "Right, okay, thanks for that you two. But like I was saying, there were five scouts, now there are four. Ranked above them are the "Elite Four" - four people with varied abilities. Above them is James Liebert, the quartermaster. Above him, the first mate, Olivia Amber, and finally at the top of the food chain is Nelly Noire, the captain." She took a breath. "Twenty people, like I said, all dangerous, like Freeze is so keen on reminding us." "So, when are they getting here?" That was Dorsal. "Day after tomorrow, Bug reckons, which is plenty of time to get ready. Booze, what's the time?" Everyone turned to the well dressed slender man, who pulled a small silver pocket watch from his waistcoat, read it and replaced it. "Twelve forty-seven." Kelly nodded. "Right, I think we could all use a break." She flashed her gaze to Maggy. "Take a few minutes to cool off. Be back at one fifteen-ish" No one said anything, but Ruby made a quick walk for the door first. Dorsal followed after him, then Freeze, who shot Tam a glare on the way out. Tam held his gaze without blinking. He wanted a staring contest, he'd get one. Soon the only people left in the room were Maggy, Tam, Whale in the fish tank, Kelly and Steele. The would-be ironclad girl, still clad in her new bodysuit like everyone else, approached Tam and placed her hand on her shoulder. "Would you mind terribly if I stole you for a moment?" Tam shrugged. "Uh, sure. S'long as you you give me back." Steele gave a small smile and started leaving her towards the exit. "Don't you dare elope with her!" came Kelly's voice from behind them. "You leave Blood for her and I will hunt you down!" Tam turned. "I told you, we're not a thing!" A few moments later Tam and Steele were standing in a narrow alleyway running alongside the inn. Steele pulled a small box from her pocket. "Do you mind?" Tam checked the box. Cigarettes. "Oh, no, go ahead." Soon enough there was a smouldering piece of paper gripped gently between her lips. "My name's Rachel, by the way." Tam nodded and stuck her hand out to shake. "Tam." Rachel accepted the handshake. "A pleasure." She let out a puff of smoke, breathing calmly before continuing. "So, what do you make of this band of merry misfits so far?" Tam thought for a second. "In a word? Weird. But then... I'm used to weird." Rachel nodded. "Quite the character, the woman with you" "Hm. Way more than a handful. Always goes overboard on the violence. But I'd rather travel with her than that Ruby twat." she made a mock gagging noise. "Aha, also a handful." Rachel agreed, "We've learned to block him out, but his repugnant ways still annoy us." "Why d'you keep him around?" "Since he looks weak, the enemy go for him first, then he endures the hits until we can sort the enemy out." Tam thought about how many times he'd been hit in there. "Yeah, I can see that." Rachel took another puff from her cigarette. "So, what's Whale's deal? She doesn't talk much." "She talks when she needs to." Rachel said simply. "She's a woman of few words. Knows the right questions to ask, though, she can find out pretty much anything with enough time. She knows all our full names. I reckon she'll know yours and your partner's before you even go back in there." She sucked in more smoke which she slowly released from her mouth as she spoke. "I wouldn't mess with her though. She can find out a secret that'll end you and have her revenge, either by releasing it straight up or blackmailing you into being an errand girl for her. She's probably the most dangerous one of us." "Thanks, I'll bear it in mind." There was a short pause. Tam put her hands in the pockets on her suit and leant against the wall. "What about Freeze, what's his deal?" Rachel emitted another cloud. "I'm not sure. Word on the street would have you believe he's from a ninja cult, or the king of some grand secret organisation with a thing for melodrama. Probably all lies, no one really knows where he's from. Except maybe Spike, and of course Whale." "The plot thickens." Rachel dropped her cigarette and crushed it under her heel - her bare heel, mind. Tam winced. "That can't be good for your skin." Rachel looked up. "Oh, it's not that bad. I'm from Tamarisk, so I'm used to heat underfoot." "Tamarisk?" Tam racked her brain, thinking of places the merchants passing through Gray Town had mentioned. "That's in Alabasta, isn't it? Why'd you leave the Grand Line?" "What, are the blues not supposed to be as good? Even though you can travel without a log pose and live at sea without unexplainable weather?" Tam shrugged. "I dunno. Just seems like a lot of effort, having to survive the Calm Belt to come back here." "Sometimes, effort pays off. I like it here. It's that simple." "Fair enough." "Anyway," continued Rachel, changing the subject as she pointed upwards, "It looks like it's about to rain, we'd best get inside." Tam followed her finger towards the grey clouds gathered above them in the sky. "Yeah, good idea. Best make sure that Ma... that Blood hasn't killed Spike yet." And so, the duo made to reenter the bar. |

Maggy smiled, the can was in pieces and people didn’t seem too eager to make any snide comments towards her or Tam anymore. She knew they were a deadly combo, which is probably why she was so excited when Kelly explained their whole situation and the people they would be facing. It was a large crew by the sounds of it, and each person would most likely be suited to sorting out specific people. For example, because she was so quick and beautiful, any of the slow men she could take out easily, with a wink and then a few quick stabs before they could recover from infatuation. As she daydreamed about tearing a ship to pieces, she noticed people were filing out of the room. She pouted, had she scared them all away or were they off to somewhere? Shrugging, she walked to the edge of the room and leant against it, slowly lowering herself down until her backside lightly hit the floor, the coolness of it coming as quite a shock, although she didn’t show it on her face. Her left leg lay flag against the floor, whilst she pulled her right one up to her chest and hugged it slightly, resting her chin on her knee carefully and vaguely looking around. There weren’t many left in the room. There was the mermaid in the fish tank who was keeping quiet as usual, and Kelly, whose codename had already been forgotten by Maggy. She exhaled lazily, thinking about a few things. Of course she wanted to go and stalk Tam, but she was safe with these people, so it wouldn’t have been to protect her. No… She wanted to stay by her side and have some fun like usual, however it appeared they would be in the midst of combat instead, so she would have her time then. “Hey… Tattoo woman, if there are so many dangerous people, what are you planning on doing about it? I’m sure we’re enough, but seeing as you’re so convinced it’s a risk, what do we do about it?” It appeared to catch Kelly’s attention. Usually being spoken to did that, but Maggy had been thrown into a primary school and told to play nice. If she were to get along and work with these people she’d need to get to know them. It would have been nicer if it was just her and Tam taking these pirates out, but it appeared it wouldn’t be possible, so learning about them seemed to be her only option. She might have been the solo queen, the beauty of sea, the deadly lone wolf, but she knew how to co-operate, sometimes. “Hmm? Wouldn’t you like to know?” Tapping her nose, Kelly seemed to want to play a little with Maggy. Didn’t she know that she was taken? A smile crept up on the assassins face, she could wait. Perhaps she’d take this time to get to know her a bit better. Before she could ask anything however, the tattoo artist continued: “That doesn’t look half bad on you girl, but you could use a bit more meat on you, especially around…” She didn’t notice Kelly lifting her own chest to signify where the weight would be useful, as she was too busy internally celebrating. Finally someone could see how gorgeous she truly was. She didn’t get many compliments like those from Tam, not yet at least. She was always too busy making things, or drinking or generally avoiding small talk, which wasn’t too much of a bother to Maggy as it just meant she could spend more time watching the demon without her noticing. The comment on how weight wasn’t missed either though, she was proud she could remain so thin with little effort put in, all because of her natural talent at everything. “Finally, someone gets it! I naturally stay this weight too, isn’t it great?!” She was rather excited she had met someone with a similar interest to her, that being herself. They could both see how great she really was, which excited her. She studied the two people in the room, having almost forgotten the one in the water for a moment due to how quiet she was. A moment later she continued: “You don’t look half bad yourself. The outfits are well made, although… When do we get to see it on you my pretty little friend?” Maggy was currently pointing at the girl in the tank, her index finger lazily pointing at the water container. Her finger was bony like the rest of her, her skin pale too, however her fingernail was averagely long, and almost perfect in colour too. She was proud of her nails, she had kept them healthy and well for the most part. The comment seemed to be noticed, however after a brief stare from the fish woman, eye contact was lost and she lazily turned in the water, moving slightly to go back to her business. Maggy cooed to herself, she had at least expected a slightly friendly response, but being almost ignored was rude. She let it pass, she had a while to get to know her after all, and once the job was done she wouldn’t have to see her again. “Not a talkative one then? That’s fine, it just means you’ll be even more deadly in combat. I’ll bet you’ve got a nasty right hook to you, ey?” She chuckled to herself, a little friendly banter might make things easier. She hadn’t spent years dissecting brains and torturing people to find nothing of human interaction. She was of course very educated on this, as well as all other subjects in the world, for she was of course very intelligent, the smartest in fact. "The person who can offend Whale enough to get her to punch them deserves an award. She's not the physical type. But hey, if it's physical you're after… Then I'm afraid I already have a girlfriend, sorry." Maggy wasn’t sure but she was pretty sure she saw a wink in the middle of her monologue which she couldn’t help but nod at. She could respect a healthy sense of humour, it was good to relax sometimes, which was why she was always relaxed, whether it be whilst drinking a pint whilst on the ship, or displacing someone’s spinal cord. “I see I see. Well… That’s a shame, I was looking forwards to seeing that punch, but who knows, maybe someone in that pirate crew might be like… really annoying or something. Like, with some really annoying face too. Gah I’d love to beat someone like that up right now, and jam my fingers in his e-… Yeah.” She paused for a moment and then added: “Well I’m also taken so… Nyeh!” Maggy cheekily poked her tongue out at Kelly, who seemed to be enjoying their conversation. As the assassin tried to think of something else to ask, she heard commotion coming from outside the door. Wherever everyone had got to, it appeared they were now coming back, which was a shame. Still… She had time. Edited by Gigasheep, Nov 21 2015, 04:49 PM.

The tavern was bustling and loud, even more so than when Tam and Maggy had first entered due to people taking shelter from the rain. The sound of people talking and the smell of alcohol filled the air. Tam felt a small pang of jealousy; her pub had never been this busy. She looked to her left, at Rachel. "You go on ahead!" She yelled, Rachel just about hearing. "I'm going to get a drink!" Rachel simply nodded and continued carving her way towards the toilets while Tam changed direction and approached the bar. Behind the counter was none other than Booze himself, now changed back into his waiter's uniform, as well as two other identically dressed people, one male, one female. The woman approached her. "What can I get you?" she asked loudly. Tam thought for a second. "Rum!" the woman nodded and set about pouring her a glass. Tam took some time to look around her, at the people. Quite a few guys' gazes were finding their way to her, looking her up and down. Tam felt her cheeks slowly redden. A clunk on the bar in front of her alerted her to the glass of rum being provided, the waitress holding up five fingers. Tam reached into one of the pouches on her belt and pulled out five hundred-beli coins, placing them on the table. The waitress gave a thumbs up and took the coins, proceeding to the next customer. Tam took her drink and left the bar. She took a sip of the orangey-brown liquid as she headed for the toilets. As the door closed behind her, the noise of the people became muted and Tam could finally hear herself think again. She leaned against the side wall and took another sip. Funny, she thought, how Kelly would've taken to bounty hunting too. Given her natural mistrust of authority, it was funny she would be bringing in lawbreakers. Tam did it mainly because of her parents, a marine and the pirate who decided to mess with her life. Kelly... now Tam thought about it, she didn't think Kelly had ever mentioned her parents. The door to the male toilets swung open, and out walked a man, early twenties by the looks, with long black hair. He wore tight trousers and had his shirt open, revealing a very well built torso. Tam averted her gaze, her cheeks flushing again. She took another sip of rum. "That looks good on you." Her gazed snapped upwards to him. He was smiling warmly. "That outfit. It really shows you off. You look really good." Tam blinked. This guy was... hitting on her? "Uh... thanks, I guess." She expected him to leave after that. He didn't. His gaze was fixed firmly on her - and on her eyes, not anything else. He moved in slightly closer. Tam took another sip. "Listen, I have somewhere to be right now, but would you like to... meet up with me later?" He pulled a small card from his breast pocket and slid it up her left sleeve. "My address. Eight O'Clock. Think on it." He winked, and left through the door to the pub proper. Tam just blinked. Had a total stranger just walked up to her, in a public toilet no less, and ask her on a date? Her first date at that? Still slightly shellshocked, she downed the last of her drink and placed it on top of the clock, and pulled the card from her sleeve. The address was an apartment, by the look of it - it had a apartment number. The card itself was rather plain - white text on a black card, no decoration whatsoever. She turned it over, and there, engraved in an elaborate white font, were the initials Q.B. She realised she hadn't got his name. She wondered if she'd actually go to meet him. Strangers weren't usually good people to meet up with. She shrugged - she'd decide closer the time. She pocketed the card and turned the hands on the clock to five o'clock, and the door opened with a click and she entered, the door locking behind her. As she stepped out into the room, she observed that everyone was here. Even Booze, who'd changed back into the skintight uniform Kelly had provided. Kelly noticed her immediately. "Aha! There you are, Bolts! I thought you'd run away." Tam walked closer to the group and stood right at the back, between Rachel and Ruby. "Who are you kidding, you know I can't run for shit." Kelly smirked. "Well, we're all here now. We may as well just get the last bit of the meeting over with, no real point in waiting. Any objections?" Silence - a resounding 'none'. "Awesome. So, According to the info in Bug's letter," she held up a piece of paper, presumably the letter, "The Nightshade Pirates intend to waltz right up the the front door and tie up their ship in the main dock, here in Haiiro Village. They're the types to expect people to grovel at their feet and beg after they take out the first few attackers. So, naturally, we're gonna completely ignore their entrance, and we're gonna try and catch each member alone, and take 'em out before they know we're there." "We're gonna start at the bottom of the ladder and make our way up. We'll take out the crewmen, then the scouts, the Elite Four, then the quartermaster, the first mate, and the captain herself. Now, we've been given plenty of info on each crewmember, which I'm gonna tell you guys now so you can be prepared in case we find out anyone else's been sent ahead like the scout Blood and Bolts took care of." Eyes briefly flickered towards Maggy, or Tam, or both one after the other. "If you turn your attention to the wall on my left, your right, you'll see that we've got a picture of everyone in that crew, plus their name, rank and abilities." Everyone's gaze turned to the board that Kelly must have fixed their during the break, twenty pictures stuck to it with pushpins. One had a big red 'X' drawn on it. It was a face Tam recognised - the cat she and Maggy had killed. One other picture caught her eye. Second from the right on the top row. Quentin Brown. She knew the face. Q.B. "I saw one of them upstairs!" Tam blurted out. All eyes turned to her. "What? Who?" asked Kelly. "Just before I came down, I was standing outside the toilets, and I saw Quentin Brown." There was a moment of speechlessness. "What did he do?" Tam blushed a bit, but held up the card he'd given her. "He asked me out." Freeze glared. "Well, that's interesting." That was Kelly. She looked worried. "They wouldn't normally send a crewman ahead..." came Freeze's voice. Tam looked back at the board. His list of special abilities was blank. Kelly answered her question before it was asked. "The crewmen are all just normal guys who're really good in a fight. The weakest in the crew by a mile." There was a short pause. "The break was actually kinda pointless, now I think about it. I've already said all the stuff I wanted to say today, I was gonna go over the plans tomorrow. So... meeting adjourned, I guess? Oh, but Blood and Bolts, you wait behind." Slowly, the place emptied out once again, except for Rachel, who'd approached the board and was looking at it studiously. On the way out, they all grabbed their clothes from the various locations they'd been discarded to. Tam followed suit, grabbing her bundled up clothes from the corner. Probably wouldn't be good to change into them in this weather. Kelly was walking for the exit too, beckoning Maggy and Tam to follow her. "We'll go to my place, it's more private, then we'll talk what we're gonna do about your date, Tam." she gave a light wink, but she was clearly more worried than she was letting on. Maggy sat there on the floor still, her eyes only moving when somebody new entered the room. Each time she would inspect the person, try and remember if she had seen them before, and then went back to looking at the floor, tracing her finger along the floor. To the normal person it would have looked like she was mindlessly running her finger along the floor, however in actuality she was drawing a pentagram on the floor, in the hope that she could perform some sort of ritual. She kind of hoped she would be able to summon Tam back via this sort of action, seeing as demons reacted to drawings such as that. After only a few seconds (a few minutes) surely enough the demon arrived, her hair and clothes looking a little damp but nothing too unattractive. Maggy paid little information to these factors and instead stood up, still leaning against the wall. It was polite to stand when a lady entered the room after all. As she finished standing Kelly announced to them all that they were ready to start. The presentation from the tattoo artist was surprisingly dull, with little in the way of prompt for them to go wild and kill everyone. She mentioned a plan of taking out some of the pirates but the assassin’s attention had not been there, instead on the outfit which Tam was still wearing. Of course every other person in the room was wearing the same, and some of the men actually looked half decent in it too, their abs showing off (on those that had any). Despite the men looking alluring, she knew that the best looker in the room was her partner in crime, and nobody could disagree with that. All these people in this room just reminded her of a party she’d gone to a while ago. A little mission to try and “sort out” some people. She could remember it clearly, as if she was just making it up on the spot. She could clearly see the shocked faces and could hear the screams. Yes, it had been rather fun. It reminded her a lot of the room they were in right now, mostly because it was busy with lots of people in outfits. She smiled and looked back at Tam, vaguely recalling there being a sole survivor from her assault on the posh party, it hadn’t been her, but if this was that party it would be her. She didn’t really care about anyone else. Due to her infatuation with the demon, she almost didn’t notice the comment about a man asking her on a date. A pirate at that?! Gritting her teeth, Maggy pushed off from the wall and walked towards the painting which depicted the crew. The man they were all pointing out seemed one of the cocky types, the ones which said they were the best but had nothing to show for it. She sighed, to think any man had the nerve to try and take her lady from her, at least Tam didn’t accept. Soon after that little interlude, people were walking out of the room, only a few remaining. Kelly beckoned the dynamic duo over to her, probably about a genius plan she had to send the two on a mission to sort out the crew on their own, of course she knew their power, so of course it would happen… “Excuse me? Say what?!” Maggy stood there in disbelief as she tried to understand what had just been said. Tam was going to go on a date with that dirty man, who couldn’t even dress properly? Even worse, it was whilst under the expert assassin’s surveillance. She couldn’t just let something like that slip, it was just wrong. No way in hell was there any chance she would be going to a house like that. If needed, she would happily ground the demon to prevent her from leaving. “So… What’s the plan?” They were now stood outside, away from prying eyes/ears. They’d made their way out of the bar rather quickly after Maggy had complained, mainly because she’d dragged them out there so she could clear her head. The idea of Tam going on a date was just absurd and she couldn’t be dealing with it. “Well, she meets him, keeps his attention, and then you sneak in and try to fuck him up when his guard's down." If anyone had have looked at her face, it would have been clear she disagreed with the plan, it really did bug her. She just didn’t want to accept that it was a good idea, mostly because it wasn’t. Although the demon could hold her own, it still felt wrong to be allowing someone else to have her acquaintance for something like a date. “I don’t like this idea… But as long as nothing weird happens and I can keep a close eye on things, I guess it could be permitted. Plus I like the idea of getting a little revenge for him having the nerve to try and steal Tam from me.” She spoke through her teeth, holding back her anger. She knew they wouldn’t have it any other way, and it could certainly prove useful. Plus with her nearby it would mean that nothing weird would happen, nobody would even get to lay a finger on her. Sighing heavily she looked up at the bare sky. It was rather dark due to the rain clouds, however for now the floating sheep had stopped their watery assault on the island. The cool winds brushed her hair, letting it swish around lazily; she could imagine it looked great, just like she did, because she always looked great. She couldn’t really believe that she’d agreed to such silly idea, but at the end of the day if they were to take down these pirates they needed to start somewhere. She'd get to kill the guy, although it meant putting her lover in danger. She paused… “Wait, what if I go instead? It keeps Tam out of danger and we have no need for a distraction, plus couldn't she kill the guy by herself anyway? But anyway, I could just put on a wig and it’d be perfect. Look, I can even do an impression!” Another pause… “My name is Tam!” She grinned, it sounded so similar that she surprised herself for a moment, although quickly realised that she shouldn’t have been. Why would she be surprised by her natural talent when she showed it off all the time in all that she did? Everything she did showed her prowess. Edited by Gigasheep, Nov 26 2015, 01:32 PM.
