Akemi was entering this under the assumption that any form of heavy hitting would be more on Elizabeth’s side while she’d hopefully be able to keep these people at least somewhat distracted until either reinforcements could arrive or said princess was able to lend her firepower to the situation. All the same, her opening salvo went well enough, all of the pirates gathered around the real threat were down and effectively removed from combat, but the problem was that the main threat was still there, completely unphazed by her spices – and not even in the sense that she had expected, with him blocking or dodging the streams, but the pirate had flat out eaten her spice and was completely unaffected. Not the diluted water streams, but her own spice, shot directly from her, THAT spice. And with that any hope of managing to do anything at all to him was erased; it wasn’t even difficulty in hitting him, they were flat out unable to so much as scratch him. At this point, her best option was to keep leading him away, keeping him busy. She’d already directed the others to scatter, and not too soon since the pirate had right after smashed the ground and sent all the cover toppling over – along her Akemi herself before she flicked herself back to her feet with her scarf. Her need to come up with something a bit better was forestalled by the advent of an obsidian wing bursting from the ground and yanking her close, only her knowledge of Elizabeth keeping her from panicking. Well until she was pulled underground, at that point it was only instinctively following her princess’s words and holding her breath stopping the freak out as she felt what it was like to be a super tunnelling mole. She thought that she was doing quite well on that front mostly, well until she finally got to see sunlight again and turned around only to see Elizabeth with quite a few changes. It said a lot that Akemi didn’t even notice the wings because of a far more pressing concern. “What happened to you?!” Heedless of how much blood was getting on her, Akemi caught her princess, helping get her onto the ship and with proper medical assistance. It was obvious at this point why she pulled them back; if the people on this island could damage her that badly, this was not the kind of problem they could possibly help with. It would be best to let the Admiral act with as little people in the way as possible. That and with Elizabeth in the medical ward, she needed something to do to avoid her inevitable panicking, and making sure that others were safe was the most productive thing she could think of to do. It did take over a day but given the sheer amount of blood – and she still had to repress a shudder as she recalled the sight of it all – it was a wonder that Elizabeth was even active at all. And speak of the devil, Just as she was pondering that, a familiar princess scooped her up and gave her the tightest hug she’d ever had, reminding Akemi a bit too much of those hugs her mother gave when she was worried about something. Her words more or less confirmed it, although throughout the whole affair Akemi had far bigger issues than a simple vacation. Still she could at least tell that Elizabeth needed some kind of distraction, and she could help with that easily enough. “Yeah, I might have had to tie her down to get her to stay still. She’s probably gotten almost loose by now so be ready for getting glomped.” She studiously avoided touching the rest of Elizabeth’s comment despite her red face, although if she was feeling up to teasing her, it was a good sign that things would get better with enough time and putting that island behind them. "But, since you agree on listening to your knight, I have a few things for you to try on while I'm working on a new dress for you...." And she'd happily help out with that however she could. -le exit post- |
