The ship rocked back and forth as Elizabeth stood on the deck looking over a notepad. It had been roughly a week since they finished filming the Princess and the Pepper, and 3 days since they departed from her home in yet another tearful goodbye. Akemi was naturally very sore still about the elaborate prank Elizabeth had pulled on her and Dani, though Dani hadn’t seemed bothered by it the least. That incorrigible mermaid was as bubbly as ever. Akemi had been pouting for quite some time and as an apology Elizabeth had told her she had a very special surprise for her but it was to be a secret until they arrived. Since they boarded the ship Elizabeth had seen very little of her “bodyguard” and what little she had was full of adorable pouting which Elizabeth couldn’t help but chuckle at. However now that their destination was in sight Elizabeth called one of her servants over to her.

Could you be a dear and fetch miss Akemi for me darling?” Elizabeth requested in an overly polite tone one typically wouldn’t use to talk to the help. The woman bowed politely and went into the bowels of the ship to fetch Miss Akemi. Elizabeth pondered the events that had transpired at the end of their shoot. They had an encounter with a Miss Yue Akame. She was apparently the sister of Zei Akame, and she was able to confirm the death of Akemi’s former captain. It was a tragic blow, but those wounds had healed awhile ago so much of the sting had been taken off. What was more painful however was Miss Yue’s devil fruit. The Pika Pika no mi, one of the highest of the logia classes. The former wielder of that power was another of their companions, a Sister Claire as she was told. Miss Akemi and Miss Dani were quite close with her but she departed from them for some more personal training. The implications of Miss Yue possessing such a fruit were quite terminal. Only 1 of each fruit could exist at any given time, as such Miss Yue possessing such ability meant that their other friend had passed away. How, why, and where were still a mystery, and one which Elizabeth was determined to solve for the sake of Akemi’s mental health. She had been pouring through Marine reports but had thus far been unable to find any report on her death. Claire was a fairly well known bounty hunter in the grant line, and possessing a power like that would have made her even better known. For her to have just disappeared like that… It would seem if she wanted to find any answers she might have to draw upon contacts from that questionable organization that she had encountered. She still had not given them her answer, and they had not attempted to contact or silence her so it would seem that they had kept their word.

Miss Elizabeth, I have found Miss Akemi for you.” Came a feminine voice from behind. Her servant had returned to the deck with Miss Akemi in tow. Elizabeth brushed those thoughts out of her mind. Now was the time to help distract Miss Akemi from her troubles, and she had just the thing for that. She turned and smiled to greet them both.

Thanks you Miss Wednesday. Hello Akemi! I hope you have prepared yourself, for its time for me to reveal to you your surprise~ I know you’re still a bit sour at the trick I played on you, but I hope this will help make it up to you. I bid you welcome, to Justice Land, the Safest Place on Earth!” Elizabeth turned and dramatically revealed the towering sign that they were approaching none other the famous Marine themed amusement park. The entire island had been converted into one giant get away. Roller Coasters, Tea Cup rides, and Log Chutes as far as the eyes could see. While Elizabeth and Akemi being devil fruit users would not be able to partake in most of the water themed rides they would have plenty of fun in the rest of the park.

Today I shall let you decide everything we will be doing here. I already have made arrangements and pulled a few strings with the Marines. We have express passes to every ride in the park, no waiting in line for rides, we can just walk right up and they’ll have a seat permanently reserved for us for everything! In addition I’ve reserved for private full course meals for us at all of the nicest restaurants. We’ll have chefs waiting on us hand and foot to serve us both the finest of foods available. Money is no object so you may play as many arcade games and take as many souvenirs as your heart desires. However there is a price for all of this...” Elizabeth’s face took on a rather grim expression as she moved in close to look Akemi in the face.

You have to pay, with smiles~ ON this trip there will be no frowny faces, so come ooon lets see that cute smile of yours~” “Elizabeth chuckled as she grinned ear to ear and pointed and turned the corners of her cheeks up into a wide smile. For the overly excitable Akemi there was no way she could properly hide her excitement for this trip. I mean this was Justice Land, one of the top 5 amusement parks in the entire world! It was unfortunate but their Friend Dani would be unable to accompany them. As a mermaid she had a rather fragile constitution when it came to being on land, and she had foolishly spent far too much time out of water. As such she was to be water ridden for a good deal of time for her body to recover. Still in a remarkable act of maturity she had told them both to go have fun without her and naturally to bring her back tons of souvenirs and pictures. The ship pulled up to the docks and the island was packed full of men women and children excited for a day of safety and fun. Elizabeth and Akemi walked up to the ticket booth and Elizabeth calmly flashed a badge, the Marine at the ticket counter saluted her and let them both pass. Stepping out into the entrance the entire park seemed to sprawl out endlessly around them. Cheers of childlike excitement erupted from everywhere as families were having a good time. Elizabeth was packing light, keeping just her umbrella and a small contingent of her guards, only 2 men and 2 women in black suits ties, and sunglasses.

Well then Miss Akemi, you’re in charge today, what would you like to do first?” Elizabeth asked calmly deferring their plans to Akemi to decide to give her a better feeling of being in control. In truth Elizabeth and gone to great lengths to reserve open availability for rides and restaurants for them in any order but she would easily heap praise upon Akemi for picking out everything to do in the right order.

Akemi was not in a happy place right now, and she hadn’t been for the past few days. Ever since Elizabeth revealed the sheer extent of her plotting back on that island Akemi had gotten angry enough that she flat out refused to even speak with her, and she hadn’t changed her mind yet. In fact, she very happily kept to herself the whole while, only surfacing when she had to; she had her own concerns right now. In her room of fabrics and clothing she spend her time stitching and sewing and making quite a few modifications to her supply of outfits for all occasions, She didn’t really need to do any such thing right now, but she would admit that she needed a distraction right now.

While her anger with the princess and her antics was pretty high on her list of things to be bothered about, she also had to come to terms with the conga line of bad news she got before they left; Zei had managed to make his way back after that incident in Drum Island, but he had died soon after. It did hurt to find out about that but then they had all suspected as much from the beginning. If anything, that provided some closure. Finding out that Claire LePew had probably died as well though was a bit harder to deal with. They’d parted ways with her in the best of health but there was only one devil fruit active at any one time. If Zei’s sister was the new holder of the Pika Pika no mi, by definition, Ms LePew couldn’t be alive anymore for the fruit to have been freed.

She was not going to go to Elizabeth for advice though, not one bit. Given her previous behaviour it was a coin flip on whether or not she’d give her any meaningful advice to twist it into something to embarrass her yet again to begin with! Just as the thought crossed her mind, she heard a knocking at her door, followed by the voice of someone that wasn’t the princess, which was the only reason that she bothered to open the door in the first place. Still she gave the woman a pointed look, figuring that odds were good that she was here on behalf of the woman that she wouldn’t talk too. And it turned out to be just that, a request for her to see the princess. She promptly took the door and started to close it, much like her response the last time she got that request but the servant interfered, insisting that it was genuinely important.

She wouldn’t believe Elizabeth, but she’d believe the staff, they were at least honest enough with her. Still, she took her sweet time getting ready and walking up to the ship docks, scowl fixed on her face, a scowl that got all the more pronounced when they arrived. She would have made a comment about how sour she really was but that would require her to speak to Elizabeth which she still refused to go without getting a proper apology.

And it burned far more than she could ever say that she still hadn’t figured out that’s what Akemi actually wanted. A real apology, not one of those half baked fake ones she’d heard her parents gave far too much. Her scowl moved to deepen all the same but then she actually saw the island they were parked in front of. A muted gasp was all she let out, but it was far more than she had said to Elizabeth in days as her expression shifted to one of pure shock. It was an amusement park, no, THE amusement park, the best attraction in all of the Grand Line! She ran to the edge of the ship and might have well jumped off if Elizabeth didn’t get in her way, wait was she still talking?

She tried so hard to glare at her again, at the bribery attempt instead of actually making amends but it was a nice bribe….against her will, even when Elizabeth let her face go, she couldn’t keep a bit of a smile off of her face. “Okay, coming here is a good bribe. I’m not happy that you’re trying to deflect, but it’s a good enough one. I’ll….think about it.” Oh she thrilled to be here, but this didn’t change the simple fact that Elizabeth still hadn’t even acknowledged that what she did was wrong, and she was too used to nobles doing just this to get away from admitting fault for it to really slip past her.

This wouldn’t stop her from taking full advantage of it though, not one bit, when people offered bribes, you milked them for all you could get away with without getting caught too deep. “We’re going on that ride first!” She yelled out with full childish zeal, pointing at the biggest roller coaster on the island. Because of course Akemi wanted to ride the craziest rides in the park.

As Elizabeth had expected Akemi was in a rather foul mood. Elizabeth had apologized several times quite sincerely but she refused to believe it. It was not however out of pure spit she was holding a grudge, but rather because it was easier for her to displace all her negative feelings on Elizabeth. Akemi had recently heard of the loss of 2 people who were close to her, and she was naturally displacing all of her aggression and anger at her helplessness of the situation on Elizabeth, using her as a scapegoat. Elizabeth was sharp enough to pick up on this fact and decided if it helped her mental state to displace the blame then she’d bear that burden until her wounds healed. As she had been hoping however Akemi’s excitable side couldn’t resist popping out once she found out their destination. Akemi was bubbling over with excitement which made it all the more adorable that she was attempting to keep up her pouty attitude. She pointed in the direction she wanted to go, gesturing to the largest ride in the park, the Commodore Comet Coaster.

Alright we’ll head there first, I hope you’re ready however, I’ve heard that this is one of the most intense rides in the park.” Elizabeth said with a slightly knowing smirk as they made their way to the ride. Just as she had said they walked right past the line that was roughly a 45 minute wait right up to the ticket booth. The front 2 seats of every ride in the park had been kept on permanent reserve for them both for the day. They both sat down and the bars locked into place securing them. The ride lurched forward slowly making its way around a bend and going up towards the incline. It was a very very tall steep incline that moved at a snail’s pace letting the gravity of the situation sink in on the way up. Higher and higher the cart climbed until a glance over the side would see the parks inhabitants as tiny ant like dots scuttling around below. The cart started to top out as the front of the train managed to crest the arc and Elizabeth and Akemi were treated to the first view of the drop, and what a steep drop it was, it was a good deal less than a 45 degree angle, meaning they would be nearly plummeting straight down.

Are you ready Akemi?” Elizabeth whispered as she reached over and held her hand out for Akemi to grab onto if she needed. The coaster slowly overcame the apex of its ascent and shot downward like a missile. They flew forwards at incredibly speed, Elizabeth’s large volumes of hair flying upward and whipping wildly behind her. Even she felt her stomach rise up into her chest at the speeds they were moving. The coaster bottomed out quickly and used the momentum to rocket them around the park, in total 3 corkscrew twists, 2 corkscrew turns, 4 additional rise and falls, and the dreaded triple loop de loop. A full 3 minutes of nonstop heart pounding gut churning thrills later the ride came to a stop at the station. Elizabeth had refrained from screaming, at least for the most part, ad stumbled out of the ride. Her hair was sticking almost straight up and she ran her hands behind her head and tried her best to smooth it out. She took a few trembling steps and grabbed her Umbrella using it as a sort of cane to lean on.

W-well that was certainly intense, I see you wanted to go all out from the start. What ride would you like to go on next? Perhaps something a bit tamer, the tea cups look fun…” Elizabeth was trying to hide her embarrassment about the fact that she actually did not do to well on overly thrilling rides. A large part of it had to do with the fact her devil fruit was one that was closely tied to the earth, and being disconnected from the ground so much was quite the jarring experience for her. She hoped Akemi wouldn’t pick up on this and put her through intense ride after intense ride as a manner of revenge.

Miss Akemi, if it is alright with you I should like to sit down for just a moment.” Elizabeth asked quite insistently as she sat down on a bench to collect herself and allow her stomach to settle. As Elizabeth watched the people walk by she noticed a few things. First there was a slight tension in the air, like everyone was walking on eggshells. There had been a lot of drama and turmoil at the impending Bright War as people had begun to refer to it as. Most people had come here today hoping to put their ears at ease. For this reason the attendance at the park was at record highs. The self proclaimed “Safest Place on Earth” was the ideal location to plan a family getaway. For if something did happen then the amusement park run by and full of Marines was the best possible place to be.

Alright then that is much better; now then what would you like to do Miss Akemi? Another ride or perhaps you’re a bit hungry. I’ll let you decide and lead the way oh fearless leader~” Elizabeth said delivering a polite bow to Akemi as if she were royalty herself. She had to try very hard to keep a straight face and restrain a chuckle from bowing in such a subservient fashion to her own bodyguard but anything that would help build up Akemi’s self esteem and ego was a good thing today.

Unfortunately unbeknownst to them all dark clouds were gathering in the distance. Many thousands of miles away a tragedy was taking place. Bright Eye’s himself was about to unleash and demonstrate the full terrifying power of the Flip Flip fruit and was about to kick start the war by turning this world on its head, starting with Neptunia Island.

“I haven’t gotten to go to a real amusement park ever; I’ve been ready for this for years and years!” Any anger she had towards Elizabeth for that prank of hers was at least temporarily forgotten now, this was practically a dream come true here and she was not going to be wasting the precious time she had, free to enjoy herself in crowds of people, with no bodyguards or parents or even worse, random criminals about to ruin her fun, playing with the silly kiddy rides, no, she was going big, bigger and biggest! Akemi grabbed the princess’s hand and practically did her best to pull her all the way to the ride, her eagerness more than enough for her to casually take advantage of being able to bypass lines with not a single shred of guilt.

The green coloured girl practically jumped into the seats, her face the picture of near manic excitement as she very impatiently waited for the rest of the slightly miffed people to board the coaster. The very fact that she was on a ride that needed a safety harness, actually needed on instead of it being there due to overprotective people, was a new wonder for her and could have easily been the most exciting part of the day on its own.

Then the roller coaster started to move. Not at the kind of breakneck speeds she’d heard about but a slow crawl to the top, and was it almost vertical? She grabbed onto the princess’s hand to make sure she had her attention as Akemi demonstrated that the harness was a wonderful idea by trying to stand on the climbing cart. “Look, look! You can barely see anyone from up here, they’re like tiny dots, I wonder if we’ll get high enough to touch the clouds or anything?” At this point she was sure that she would have fallen out of the ride from more than it being near vertical with how she was bouncing around and she couldn’t bring herself to care at all, not with them near the summit anyway. “It’s almost time, we’re about to go doooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The drop wasn’t anything like what she had read or even heard. It was far better than that, better than could be described in words, the best thing she had or it was the ultimate thrill, the climax of a story beyond compare, over and over as she screamed out in joy along the rides, bubbling laughter along the way as she did her best to breathe if only to not pass out and end up missing a second of this! She’d never had a thrill that was anywhere near this level and Akemi had decided that for giving her this, she could cut Elizabeth a break for her prank. Oh yes, a few minutes of this and she’d be willing to let a lot slide.

By the time the ride ended, Akemi was still hopped up on her own adrenalin, her hair wild and puffed out and a mile wide smile plastered onto her face as she literally hopped around the slow moving princess. “That was the best ride ever! We’re doing it again, again! Wait no, so many rides, ooh, are they all so much fun?! How about that bungee ride, it’s going even higher into the sky and dropping right back down, I’ve never bungeed before and that sounds like something fun, maybe I can do that with my scarf?” She was utterly oblivious to just how badly Elizabeth took the roller coaster and the already addicted Akemi was already looking for the next extreme ride, needing to be practically dragged to the bench.

“Noooo, we can’t stop now! There’s so many rides and so little time, I bet that –“

And like a switch was flipped, Akemi’s mood did a complete flip as she stumbled upon the memory of friends lost and one of the main things weighing her down came back in full force. “Mr Akame would probably have liked these things. He wouldn’t have said, but he seems like it. Or maybe it wouldn’t be that big a deal after being a super fluffy wolf….” She rambled on, tears building in her eyes unnoticed. “And Me LePue, she’d probably freak out a bit, I don’t think that she’s ever been on one of these either, but she’d do it anyway with enough asking, even if she’d probably be screaming all the way.” With her mood sent so high if only temporarily, she no longer had her annoyance to distract her and nothing to stop the sorrow. “But they both died, and all my friends, my freedom, everything goes away and dies because of pirates coming around and eventually you’ll die too, you care too much and eventually I’ll get into trouble or something and you’ll do something suicidal and end up getting killed and I don’t want to lose you!”

And the tears had started in full force, Akemi’s guilt and sorrow rushing out as she wailed by the bench, crying like she had never allowed herself to both for her image and to not worry those around her.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The sound of someone knocking on the door brought the marine out of rem and into the real world, well knocking was the polite way to say it. "That Banging isn't helping anyone asshole," the have awake marine yelled at the door as he buried his head back into his pillow. He managed to keep one eye open, looking out towards the window, the sun was out and bright as ever, not a cloud in sight. His bright orange eyes seemed to sparkle in this light before he shut it and turned his head back to the door. A moan escaped his lips, or more like a grunt as he sat up Indian style on his bed, his hair still in its bed head form. He clapped his lips together to get the dryness out of his mouth, he had been snoring the whole night and apparently caused him to sleep with his mouth open. The red haired marine stretched his arms up and looked around his room, a mess it had been. He really had been taking it easy for the past couple of days, this island was a marine amusement park after all, one of the safest places on earth. Also known as the most boring place on earth.

The door to his room was suddenly kicked opened, the door flying off the hinges as a large man wearing a marine Captain's cloak barged into the room. He was tall, taller than Lucas was, maybe about 8ft tall. He had a buzz cut and a face filled with scars, his left eye was missing. The man had large feet, the ground seemed to shake when he moved towards Lucas. The marine was just as surprised as anyone seeing this large man kick his door down and barge into his room the way he did. "Who the hell do you think you're talking to?" he said as he gripped Lucas's head with one hand and quickly took a strong step in the opposite direction before tossing the marine into the hallway. "Didn't I say get the hell up?" The man watched as Lucas's head was stuck in the wall. The marine dusted himself off and pulled his head out of the wall before collapsing onto the hallway floor. "I guess it's going to be one of those days huh Captian," the marine whispered under his breath as he awaiting the Captain to get to the point of his visit.

Elizabeth remained silent as gears made a startling connection in Akemi’s head and she began to grasp the gravity of her loss. For some time she had been displacing her sorrow in a variety of means. Overly enthusiastic to find and fight some invisible enemy that she could attribute all the wrong s in the world like the pepper demon, or displacing all of her anger on Elizabeth for the prank she had pulled. She had been desperately fighting off accepting or coming to terms with the sudden loss of 2 of her close friends and one would even go far enough to say mentors. Now that she had finally realized what had happened, and accepted it, like a bursting damn her bottled up emotions began to pour out. Elizabeth had to proceed very carefully here. Nothing she said would make Akemi feel better, but what she needed was some honest truth. From what she had gathered of the girls past her family was very well off and upper crust. Elizabeth knew all too well that such an upbringing was a double edged sword as the life of luxury also brought stifling restrictions on ones freedom and a lack of choice for their destiny. She was lucky enough that her family loved and supportive so hers was not one overly burdened. But she had witnessed firsthand how much strain it put on a youth. Her sister had such responsibilities thrust upon her and it drove her to anger and jealousy towards Elizabeth that might have caused a rift in their family had events not turned out as they had. Elizabeth turned to Akemi and wrapped her arms around the girl and pulled her into a gentle and comforting hug. She held the girl for a good few minutes gently patting and rubbing her hand on her back in a reassuring way before breaking off the hug and holding her hands firmly on the girls shoulders and looking her in the eye.

Miss Akemi, I cannot pretend to know much about Mr. Akame and Sister Claire outside of what I have been told. However if even half of what I had been told about them was true then they were good people who cared deeply towards you. I have no doubt they are in a much better place and watching over you even as we speak from up above.” Elizabeth smiled at Akemi to show that she was being genuine with her emotions. The first step to helping Akemi accept her loss is to reassure her that she was deeply cared for by those who have passed away.

I will not lie to you now, nor will sugar coat the truth my dear so listen close and take my words to heart. Yes it’s true I could die in the service of my duties. I do not pretend to be all powerful, and there are a great many more people far stronger than I in this world. And this world is also heading straight to a war that will be very very dangerous. And it is also true that there is a good chance I will have to fight in such a war. But that is entirely my choice. Mr. Akame and Sister Claire chose their path in life and chose to live without regrets, and now you must to the same as well. The world is and always will be a dangerous place. You can deal with threats and dangers in many ways, some chose to ignore this fact, treating every day the same and keeping their head down. Some shut themselves away in a desperate attempt to stave off the inevitable, however some choose to bravely face the unknown in search of adventure, or a better understanding of this world. For all my strength, for even my unnatural ability I am not a god my dear. I am mortal, no more invulnerable than you.” Elizabeth punctuated this remark by gently pressing the tip of her finger into the center of Akemi’s chest.

Despite that fact I am willing to do whatever it is I can to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Much like Akame and Claire if need be I would gladly give up my life so others can live in peace. And if I am honest with you, the thought o death does scare me. The truth is my dear that everyone on this world dies. I could die tomorrow fighting in some grand battle, 5 years from now with a simple slip of my step and a nasty fall on a coffee table, or it could be 60 years from now on a comfortable bed surrounded by my loved ones as I pass away from old age. Do not focus or fret on the inevitability of death, but celebrate the wonders and joys of life. Cherish the bonds you make in this world, for they are what will endure long after your passing. I am not asking you not to grieve over the death of Mr. Akame and Sister Claire, but do not let their passing dictate the remainder of your life. Lie of a life of love, adventure, courage. Take their mantra’s to hear and live on for the both of them. Look out here, what do you see?” Elizabeth explained gesturing to the people walking around the park with their friends, families, and loved ones. To the average person it looked like everyone was having fun and enjoying themselves, but to Elizabeth’s trained eye she could see otherwise. Fear was gnawing at the back of their heads, they were trying desperately to forget the troubles of this world and live for the day.

I see people, so many people who are trying to cling to what happiness they have. Mrs. Akemi, I fear there are dark times ahead, and dark forces are conspiring to throw the world into chaos. These people here, they have no power, no real strength to resist the coming tide on their own. What they need in these dark times are shining examples of chivalry, honor, and justice. They need a beacon to light their way and shine through the dark. Mrs. Akemi, you may not have noticed it but you have already acquired such a power. It is not your strength in combat, nor your devil fruit, but your kind heart. You can easily empathize with others, feel their pain and sympathize with them. You are honorable, brave, noble, slightly naive, but true to yourself and others. This world will need people like you soon, people who can show the word there is a better way than violence and fear. So chin up my dear, take what time you need to grieve, but do not let the pain of loss taint your youthful spirit, because with a heart full of love, you may overcome any obstacle in your path.” Elizabeth finished her rather lengthy philosophical debate. It was blunt at times, and some of the truths she spoke were harsh, but she did not speak down to Akemi like a child. She did not try to disguise the gravity of the gravity of the situation, but rather tried to emphasize the importance of showing her more knightly qualities. Once she had finished she wrapped an arm around Akemi’s shoulder and pulled her in close to lean on her if need be. She would sit and listen to her response, or if she needed more time to cry would offer a shoulder on which to do so.

In her current state, it took Akemi quite a few minutes to even notice that someone was holding onto her, in fact it only actually registered with her when she noticed that her head was actually pressing into something, her blurry eyes just making out the amount of pink to make it obvious that it was Elizabeth. This changed little, only leading to the depressed girl gripping Elizabeth’s dress tightly as she continued to weep, probably completely ruining the material at this rate. Still, she eventually did go from wailing to choked gasps and sobs, mostly because she had finally run out of tears to cry.

Then Elizabeth started to talk herself, her words honestly doing little if anything to help; hearing confirmation that her charge was as mortal as everyone else despite being a giant magma lizard wasn’t exactly what she wanted, neither was hearing the many ways she could end up losing yet another precious person in short order. And then after all that she was supposed to pick herself up and move on anyway? Akemi did still let her go on until she finally finished and looked up at her with red, puffy eyes that still carried her overall disbelief in her dull gaze.

“You know Elizabeth, for all that you’re freakishly good at a lot of things, you aren’t very good at cheering people up.” She deadpanned, still pressing more into her one armed hug. “I do appreciate you actually being honest but you’re going to have to convince me of that heart full of love part, even I’m not silly enough to believe that part of stories.” After all, for all that got mentioned, those books also had a pretty high tendency to involve slaying the villains with sharp objects, wits or magic, but it tended to involve some actual slaying and not trying to love the bad guys away. Still, she did have a bit of a point she supposed.

“It still hurts you know. I couldn’t help, didn’t even get any chance to say goodbye. They were just gone, and we only got to find out after the fact from other people. Well the same person in this case. But…….they would probably be happier if I was happier.” That one she couldn’t deny, both of them were kind hearted people. “And I would be a poor knight if I gave them more reasons to be worried about me. So I’ll become better, until I’m good enough that at least I’ll be able to protect those I care about that are around me, instead of being the one always protected.” And wasn’t that the reason she went on this trip, and accepted Mr Akame’s invitation in the first place?

She didn’t know if it was finally finding a way to make peace with things, that burst of hyper energy that she know knew was due to her getting an endorphin high off of the sheer amount of spiciness in her body that she was still not quite capable of controlling, she was feeling better whether because of or despite everything. Besides, she couldn’t go and tell Dani that she spent the whole time at an amusement park crying now. “And besides….”

She was certainly going to blame a lot of other things for this but really she just wanted some payback for once and there weren’t many things she could actually do to the princess that she couldn’t turn around on her. In retrospect, she’d probably regret planting a sloppy kiss right on her cheek, dangerously close to her lips, but when she gave Dani her version of this story later, she’d just have to edit out the less fun bits.

“I have the love princess with me, I’ll be fine!” And she was never letting Elizabeth live that cheesy line now. Neeeveeeeeerrrrrrr.

And so it begins...

A single woman walked out onto the deck of a mammoth sized marine battle ship. There destination was only about an hour from their current position, but it would seem as though at their current pace they would be 'too late'. The woman was growing antsy. You see, she had a very strict regime, and when her duties to her job got in the way of her regime, it made her... quite grumpy. She was used to working out for eight hours a day. No more, no less. This was after eight hours of quality sleep. No more, no less. Now she had far too much energy. She was jittery, anxious, and on edge. On top of that she lacked the endorphins that only a good -work out- high could provide. For now she could only seek solace in her concentrated protein super bar, crunching into the brick like candy bar as she tapped her foot impatiently.

Justice Island... a place of fun and leisure. But any marine knew what it -really- was. The tourist attraction was nothing more than a money sink; put their to help fund and maintain war efforts. Things like these were 'necessary' she supposed, but always ended up being more trouble than they were worth.

"Tsk... Bright-Eyes. That upstart bastard has gone and made a mess of things like this..." She said. She would much rather have been deployed directly to Neptunia to teach that bastard a lesson, but it seems as though the World Government had it's priorities. She was well confident that she could end this war all on her own; as the "World's Strongest Woman" she had a reputation to uphold after all. But no. She was being sent to deal with vandals, looters and rioters. Bright-Eye's display was a rallying cry for criminals, pirates and revolutionaries alike. To make a statement, many had formed an alliance to converge on Justice Island and turn the 'safest theme park in the world' into the largest bonfire in the world.

While the thousands of civilians were no doubt important, it just so happened that among the thousands of helpless was also a family of Celestial Dragons who happened to enjoy the theme park. Using their privilege to close down entire section or cut huge lines to get to the front and ride over and over again, they were nothing short of pests. Vice-Admiral Park himself was attending to their safety, and thankfully the man was robust enough to protect a hand full of high-class snobs, she hoped.

"M-madame Brawn..." a marine walked up with a Den Den mushi in hand, "It's Vice Admiral Park. He says it's urgent."

"Fine, give it to me," she said, snatching the Den Den mushi with little patience, "What is it Park. This better be good." She demanded.

"Admiral Brawn." the voice on the other side belonging to Vice-Admiral Park, Tycoon of Justice Island, "I'm keeping the Celestial Dragons occupied. It seems they have taken a liking to the glow-in-the-dark putt-putt... How long will you be?"

"About an hour I'm afraid. This thing is running on full cylinders." she said with a scowl.

"Ahh... everyone is on top alert... we know the attack on the island is to take place any time now!" He said. Rumors of their plans to attack had been long since intercepted by a Black Den Den Mushi. Even moving as quickly as they could however, they couldn't pre-empt the attack. The celestial dragons insisted that the theme park stay open as normal for their own pleasure, in spite of threat. This no doubt put thousands of normal, unaware citizens in harm's way.

"I've called in all the favors I could... Arena will be there before I will. I said he could have a head start." She said, her voice remaining cold and matter-of-fact.

"A h-head start? Arena!? The rejected warlord? How do you know him!? Last I heard he was quite cross with the World Government playing him for a fool.."

"We were old sparring buddies on account that his fat stomach could take a punch. Pedro wasn't happy when he found out that he wasn't considered a legitimate warlord but... the man can't turn down a challenge. I've said we would have a competition to see who could round up the most criminals. In spite of his grudge he couldn't refuse." Brawn explained. The woman hated to have to resort to a man to do her job, but just short of swimming there herself there was no faster way to travel the seas safely. While Pedro was a bit of a dull bulb, he was dependable in that whenever he got the itch of competition he was dedicated to his work.

"Ahh I see.." the voice of Vice Admiral Park cut out for a moment as the sound of the Celestial Dragons shouting orders in the background could be heard, "I-I have to go... please hurry!" he said, his voice sounding urgent.

"God Speed Park." she said, hanging up the Den Den Mushi and handing it back to the marine officer that had brought it to him. The restless woman attempted to still herself as the looked out at sea, waiting for the shape of the island to appear over the distance. While this was nothing more than a huge inconvenience to her, she hated that a bunch of thoughtless men were willing to put hundreds of normal people in dangers. What's more, she didn't want that bastard Arena getting the best of her... She knew she would never hear the end of it if she did.

------Meanwhile on the Island------
It would seem as though the islands guards had grown rather lax. After all, no one had anything to gain from attacking an amusement park! The one-entrance-one-exit island was running smoothly as it normally did, but already, countless criminals had made their way to the island. Disguised as civilians, they wandered about the park, enjoying the food and rides themselves until the moment that they got 'the signal'.

No one was clear as to what the signal might be, but it became quite clear as an object flew over the sky. This appeared to be nothing more than a bird; a News Coo which brought newspapers to those subscribed at sea. However, this one was giant in size compared to the others, had an eye patch and had a mischievous look on it's face unlike the other happy-go-lucky appearing birds of its species. Suddenly from its stork like pouch it dropped hundreds of papers, sending them fluttering down from the sky. It was quite the spectacle as everyone began looking up, wondering what in the world was falling!

As they began to fall to the ground like feathers from a broken down pillow, people would pick these fliers up to the ground... some would read it in shock, others with wide grins on their face. This was Bright-Eye's Propaganda Flier! A call to arms, a call for revolution and revolt! This was his declaration of war, spread round the globe.

A lingering few moments set awkwardly in the air as individuals looked about to one another. Civilians with no idea as to what to think grew paranoid with fear, marines that worked there realized that the worst was soon to come and the pirates and criminals who were poised to attack... well...

This was there 'signal'.

The awkwardness was broken by a scream! A pirate had boldly pulled the sword of a marine from his sheath and slay him on the spot in the of a crowd! He was not but a marine worker, and his poor mook life would have a violent chain reaction. Marines immediately sprung to action and criminals disguised as citizens took up arms against him. It would only take a matter of minutes for the island to descend into chaos, panic, violence, and bloodshed.

Meanwhile, Vice Admiral Park watched on, mouth agape as he had no power to intervene. He only hoped that his workers could do their best to contain the threat from the inside. He was stuck entertaining the Celestial Dragons...

"Are you out of your fucking mind?" the voice echoed through the halls of the floor. Lucas could see several people lined up on each end of the hall looking in his direction. Who wouldn't stop to stare of the situation, humans always have a sense of curiosity when big and loud scenes are presented to them. "You've got some balls kid, to pull this off today of all days too. I've got have a mind to wipe the floors with you then demote you back to chore boy." Lucas looked back at the Captain yelling at him, a gladiator of a man, ripped arm holes coming out of his Captain's cloak. The man was ripped as well, the white collared button down shirt he wore seemed to want to escape the clutches of his muscles. They pressed against the shirt to tightly the buttons were just moments away from popping out and striking someone with deadly intent. "Calm down sir, I finished all my work for today yesterday so I wouldn't have to be bothered today. I'm ahead of it all right now," the marine said as he stood up and rubbed his head where he had collided with the wall. There was a bump forming, something was gonna be sore tomorrow.

"What's the problem anyway? I doubt you needed to use such force," Lucas continued as he eyed the Captain. The marine walked passed the man, he was in his early 30s, eyes as green as emeralds with a golden buzz cut. There was a vein popping out of his head as he eyed the Lt. move pass him and begin to gather his things. "If it wasn't for the respect of the great Captani Turner, I wouldn't think twice about a twig like you. Look at you, pathetic, to think your moma had a son like you makes me sick," Lucas raised an eyebrow looking at the Captain with a smirk as if he knew what the Captain was really angry about. The marine chuckled as smug as can be, agitating the Captain's anger. "Something funny Lt.?" he asked in a commanding tone. "A few things actually, one being you Captain. To think a man in your position would still be holding grudges even after all this time," Lucas said putting his clothes on in front of the Captain.

"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" the Captain asked, his tone becoming less aggressive. Lucas button up his shirt just before sliding his arms into the jacket he usually wore with his suit. He looked as sharp as can be as he approached the Captain closely. "You lost sir, why can't you get over it? See, mom told me about you an her, thats right, "The Great Captain Turner" and I had a conversation earlier when I first got here. She told me about you and her and warned me to be careful. I actually felt sorry for you at one point, but that was before I was subjected to your wrath. Now you seem like a pitiful man who never got over the girl that dump him, so you take it out on her son, so sad sir." Lucas said gently smacking the Captain's face as he passed him by. "Don't worry about whats going on today tho sir, I know about the Celestial Dragon on the Island, The Vice Admiral has been to busy with the royalty to do anything else, how would I not know. And of course the Admiral heading towards the island, that's also become common knowledge amoung the lower ranked marines. Some of the boys were talking about going to see the Admiral when they arrive.

Lucas made his way out of the room and into the hallway, rubbing his head once again when he saw the hole in the wall he left. "Don't worry about anything tho Captain, I'll be on my best behavior while they're on the island, I won't embarrass you anymore than you will if you keep acting this way... sir. Well I believe I've got some patrols to do before the Admiral arrives," Lucas stated as he left the Captain speechless in the room. But before the marine could make it any further, a marine ensign ran down the hall yelling for the Captain. "Captain! Captain! he cried as he moved towards the room, passing it for a moment before his eyes realized the Captain had just been passed. He returned back to the room, clinching a piece of paper in his hands. "Captain, we have a problem! Look!" he said as he presented the paper to the Captain and watched as he read it. The man's eyes widen as he slowly looked up. Lucas looked back into the room with curiosity as one would normally do in a situation when a loud scene present's itself. "Bright Eyes, one of the four emperors has declared war on the World Government," he said aloud as he looked at the ensign.

"That's not all sir, we have reports of pirates on the island, they started moving once the papers fell from the sky. I think the island is under attack," the marine said as he looked to the Captain with hopeful eyes. The Captain just turned his attention to Lucas who simply nodded to the man. "Looks like I've got a job to do, and here I thought today was gonna be pretty uneventful," he said as he raced he way out of the building and into the chaos that was now Justice Island.

Elizabeth chuckled as Akemi seemed to cheer up; even if it was as a result of her somewhat cornball speech she was glad to see the girl in high spirits again. While what Akemi had said about her speech being less than confidence building was true it was undoubtedly what she needed to hear. Based on what she had been told she viewed Mr. Akame and Sister Claire as some sort of living gods. That was an unhealthy and unrealistic expectations, especially if she starting to deliver the same feelings towards Elizabeth herself. She needed her to understand that there was no permanence in this world, and that only by being proactive can any hope for peace and prosperity be achieved. Life was hard; it took work, and often sacrifices. However when people put forth their full effort everything did work out in the end.

Well then, I suppose that makes it your duty to protect this ‘Princess of Love’ now doesn’t it?” Elizabeth said in slightly teasing tone as she leaned over and kissed the girl on the forehead to fluster her a bit. After a bit more sitting and hand holding if necessary they were up and about again. Unfortunately the universe seemed intent to ruin their day. A commotion occurred when an overly large and somewhat grizzly looking News Coo carrier began dropping hundreds of papers all over the island. It was Bright Eye’s propaganda fliers. A sinking feeling took root in the pit of Elizabeth’s stomach. There was an eerie tension, and Akemi would feel her reach over and squeeze her hand tightly as if to brace for what was next.

Akemi… I believe we’re about to have out vacation cut short.” Elizabeth said with a tone of grim determination. She reached out with her sense of touch, a wave of understanding expanding outward through the ground; she could clearly see the layout of the park and those inside it. It felt like the world had gone mad at once. The first shot was a man grabbing a Marines sword and cutting down some poor hapless Marine before he could react. After that chaos erupted, pirates had infiltrated the island disguised as civilians and now that the fliers had fallen they were all causing chaos at once. The poor civilians were being caught in the middle. Elizabeth needed to help try and contain the situation; the highest priority would be to get the civilians to safety. To do that she would need to get their attention. She looked around and noticed that the Park had a den den intercom system set up for making site wide announcements. She needed to gain access to that, but likely the only one who had unrestricted access to that was the Park’s head of operations. Likely a Marine, if she recalled correctly it was a man named Park, a Vice Admiral. She had read a news article on the park that mentioned him a few times. Elizabeth turned to Akemi and grasped her shoulders to keep her calm and focused.

Akemi, we must help these people, pirates have stuck inside and are causing chaos. When we need to do is help the Marines any way we can and get these people to safety. If you can do so without taking a life please do so, but remember, these are pirates who have attacked an amusement park, where people have taken their families to enjoy themselves, do not hesitate to use all your strength to defend yourself and others if need be. Let us go, there is much work to do.” The former princess explained as she reached out with her sense of touch to the nearest Marine. He was currently embattled with 4 pirates who had acquired weapons and were ganging up on him and one other injured Marine. They were not too far away. Elizabeth took off in a full run towards their direction with Akemi in toe. She could feel the Marine losing ground and was eventually knocked to the ground, Elizabeth made it just in time grabbing her umbrella and tossing open the parasol and blocking the pirates combined strikes with ease as her shield caught and deflecting their attack.

Now now isn’t it a bit cowardly to gang up on someone like that, which must mean you are all quite weak, is that correct?” Elizabeth said with a calm condescending chuckle. The pirates infuriated that this woman would butt in and then have the audacity to mock them growled angrily.

You bitch, we’ll teach you to mess with pirates!” One of the four of them shouted as they charged. Elizabeth calmly pointed a finger at them and flourished her parasol to rest on her shoulder as a small crater of magma formed on the tip of her finger. A thin beam of crimson shot forth from the tip of her finger and punched their each pirate’s chest creating a smoldering hold that rank through their body. Her aim was dead on, straight through the heart, and each of them fell down dead on the spot as their heart and several other organs practically burst into flames killing them horribly. Elizabeth turned and extended a hand to help pull the 2 Marine’s to their feet.

Greetings, my name is Elizabeth Lillian Von Truffle III. I am an ally to the Marines and the world government an as luck would have it was vacationing here when the chaos occurred. Do either of you have the den den number for your superior; I believe he is a man named Vice Admiral Park. I wish to help out any way I can and my efforts would be best served if I could coordinate with him for my efforts. I have a Warship docked not far off, I can help evacuate and protect civilians there if need be, my ships military force is enough to rival even the great Marine warships; pirates wouldn’t dare attempt to take it. In any case if you could give me Park den den number I would be greatly appreciative.” Elizabeth exclaimed in a calm but urgent tone. She was fairly famous on both the world stage and amongst the Marines. She frequently worked as a freelance negotiator on the Marines behalf, and there was a huge spread about her actions on Flint Island in putting down the Kongju Pirates almost single handedly. Not to mention the den den movie the Princess and the Pepper had released not too long ago, they might even recognize Akemi as one of the starring roles. No matter what unless these Marines had been living under a rock there was no way they wouldn’t be able to recognize her and the fact that she has been a longstanding aid to the Marines.

As somewhat expected, Elizabeth was far too composed to be bothered by something like that and moved on without a hitch, although Akemi was prepared for that eventuality this time around. “But of course! I am a knight after all, it’s my duty to protect my princess charge, no matter how sappy she might be!” She was even able to say that with a straight face for most of it before descending to giggling again, her face only lightly flushed at the end. “But I draw the line at being referred to as any kind of love knight.”

She wouldn’t quite say that she was back to her normal self, but she was getting there and Akemi supposed that was enough for now. Every journey started with a single step and all, she was sure that she had read that particular proverb before and it seemed apt for her current situation. She’d even managed to start seeing Elizabeth as her own person instead of the magma turtle princess, although that one was probably more related to starting to understand how she could do what she did. She was about ready to continue on and try for round two on those roller coasters when papers suddenly started raining over the entire park. Odd yes, maybe they were doing some kind of advertisement? Such a messy way to do it though.

Her opinion changed fast when she caught one of those flyers and read the message. “Bright Eyes? As in the Yonkou Bright Eyes?!” Oh this was bad, anyone who kept track remotely of world events would have heard about the Osula incident but this was on a whole different level. A Yonkou had actually declared war on the entire World Government! This could not in any world end well and Akemi didn’t need Elizabeth’s words to tell her that things were likely to get hectic fast here. And just as thought, someone who had to be a disguised pirate stole a marine’s weapon and killed them with it, and just like that, the park became a battleground.

Once again, pirates were proving their ability to ruin any and everything and at that point Akemi’s nerves were raw enough that her reaction was swift and violent. She shook out her scarf, what appeared to be red dust glittering along the material as she wrapped it around her arms. “I’m not about to pull my punches on a bunch of murderous scum. What happens to them, happens to them.” Akemi had long since had enough of pirates and their impulses, and as Elizabeth rushed off to assist a marine in trouble, she followed, keeping her eyes on the crowds for any pirates trying to sneak around in the chaos. It was depressingly easy to spy one of them, she didn’t know what he was up to but that sword of his was getting dangerously close to people. She stepped forward and snapped her scarf out like a whip of fabric, the edge snapping on the pirate’s wrist hard enough to jar the blade out of it and get his attention.

Well for the few seconds she had him glaring at her before he gripped his hand, falling to his knees as her spice started to kick in. She had been doing more than moping about on the ship, but she’d never gotten the chance to see just what her spices could do in combat. Given that her first test subject seemed to be currently frothing from the mouth and out cold on the ground though, she was going to put her new spice under a success. Of course she’d need far more testings of it, but she had a park full of people who just volunteered to get a spice overdose.

Elizabeth had just saved a pair of marine mooks from what would have otherwise been a rather severe beating. They were both slightly shocked that an otherwise pleasant and petite appearing woman had just managed to put searing holes in a number of would be criminals, but were happy to accept her hand as she pulled them to their feet. She introduced herself and quickly got to business, expressing her need to contact Vice Admiral Park. The two marines looked to one another as though assessing each others reactions, before breaking into character. Let's call them Steve and Adam for now.

Adam's eyes burst into giant heart shaped orbs as he realized the name of Elizabeth and the figure of Akemi along side her. Though Akemi was busy adding some spice to the lives of some poor mooks, he still wouldn't miss it for the world! Jaw dropped and tongue hanging out, he immediately fetched a poster from the movie that he apparently kept in his pocket...

"I-I-I'm your biggest fan! Please! Sign my poster for me!!!" He said, losing all composure and sense of urgency. His accomplice immediately cracked him over the head with a punishing fist, "You idiot! Now isn't the time to ask for autographs!!" Steve said, sighing in frustration before turning back to Elizabeth. Adam's eyes still twinkled with starry wonder in spite of regaining his posture, "The truth is... we have all been trying to get in touch with Vice Admiral Park. He told us he was escorting a family of Celestial Dragons. That it was a top priority and not to bug em'. We've been ringing it off the hook but no answer!!

--Cut to scene of Vice Admiral Park, apparently looking as though he is about to have a panic attack as his den den mushi continues to ring. A Celestial dragon is heard in the background, "Park! Get away from that snail and come watch my next putt-putt putt!" a voice demanded. Biting his lower lip the Vice Admiral responds, "Of course! Where are my manners! How could I be so rude?!" tears now streaming down his face as he run off to attend to the needs of the Celestial Dragons.--

"At this point if I could patch you in I would, really but... it's just not working." he said, shrugging his arms as he lifted his hand, open palm to see a den den mushi patiently calling Vice Admiral Park with no answer.

"So does that mean I can... get an autograph now?" The marine said, holding his posture but nearly drooling as he was too star struck to maintain basic cognition. His friend once again popped him over the head, "No you idiot!!! There is a battle going on all around us can't you see!? Survive it and then maybe it'll be appropriate!"

The marines eyes snapped back to normal after the second blow. Realizing that an autograph would only be allowed after the squirmishes across the theme park were controlled, he immediately took off into a crowd of baddies; fueled by his passion he threw one KO-punch after another, comedically fighting for the right to have his poster signed.

Steve shook his head slowly before a harsh siren was heard over the intercom system! It was the feedback of someone as though from a microphone...

"Goood day patrons of JusticeIsland! This is your hero speaking! The masked luchador extraordinary! The king of the ring! The wrestler whose bear hugs will squeeze the evil from these no good criminals and make them reconsider their ways! The man formally known as Arena! Pedro Bear!!!!!! Fear not, for I have come to save the day!" The voice buzzed off from the intercom. The marine looked shocked for a moment, "W-what!? How did he get his hands on an den den intercom!?" he said bewildered only for a moment, "It seems if you can find that man you will be able to use whatever he used to access the intercom..! Good luck!" The marine said before charging back into the brawl the help his love struck friend.

Anyone who knew anything about Pedro Bear as that he always loved to be center stage! He was most likely in the middle of the island itself, treating the large, square shaped island as though it were a ring and taking on as many opponents as he could find. The robust man was hard to miss... especially in a fray such as this!

Lucas rushed to the scene, eyes scanning the area as he noticed a horde of pirates making their way to the base he just got out of. It was a smart move, but also one of the stupidest ones they could make. Attack a base filled with marines, but then again, the island was suppose to be safe being a marine theme park. Lucas's bright orange eyes seemed to burn with passion, "Finally, some action," he yelled out as he got in front of the group of marines standing at the front gate. "Alright boys, Line up!" he yelled out as the marines looking at the gates and the approaching horde of pirate looked back at him with fearful eyes. "These bastards think they can come to our Island and rampage through it like it was any other rock floating in this ocean. But they are wrong! We are not a bunch of punks they can just push over to get what they want, we're marine and damn it, they will respect us and our authority. Now the admiral should be arriving on the island any moment now, I want these bastards in chains before they get here. Can I count on you guys to help me kick some pirate ass before our most powerful weapon arrives?

"Yeah!" the men yelled simultaneously as if they had practice this response before. "Will you fight with me! Side by side, against all these pirates scums? The men yelled once more all in unison, "Yes!" Lucas smiled, he had never done this battle speech thing before but he felt like he was kicking ass at it already. His adrenaline was racing and these men were pumping him up even more as they cheered him on. "Then lets fight! Death is knocking at our door but guess what, We aren't excepting any visitors! No lets do this!" he yelled as he got into a runners stance and began charging at the horde. The men followed behind him, running in the line they had formed, one after another they charged out of the gate and towards to approaching horde. "Hold this line boys, kill any pirate scum that tries to break it!" he yelled once more as the first punch was thrown and the collision of good and evil began. There was a name that echoed through the streets moments after the clash, Pedro Bear, a name Lucas was familiar with but had no time to actually think about it at the moment.

The Marines seemed a bit nervous about responding to Elizabeth’s request after her introduction. IT was understandable, if they were transferred here it was likely they had not seen active combat duty in quite some time, and this entire scene would be rather foreign to them. However Adam of the duo quickly regained his composure and took u the mantle of the drooling fan boy when he realized Who Elizabeth and Akemi were, recognizing them from their recent success in Jollywood Video as well as the numerous articles that had been running about Elizabeth lately in Bounty Hunter Weekly and the World Government Enquirer after her string of successes involving the elimination of the Kongju Pirates on Flint Island. Steven the latter of the bunch quickly knocked some sense into his companion.

It is always nice to meet a fan; however your friend is correct. The signing of a mere poster will be quite meaningless if pirates manage to burn this resort to the ground and everyone in it. Consider an autograph session to be your reward should we all manage to survive and drive the pirates off. I might even be able to arrange a meeting with the other actors as well if your contributions to the effort here are well enough~” Elizabeth teased offering a greater reward for the man should he both survive and they succeed here in greater magnitude. Steve quickly informed Elizabeth that if it were possible that they would have connected her to Vice Admiral Park right away. Unfortunately as luck would have it Park was babysitting a member of the Celestial Dragons at the moment. This was a very severe confrontation. Elizabeth had never personally met a Celestial Dragon, and for good reason. She had heard stories of their selfishness, violent sense of superiority, and vast cruelty. It took every ounce of restraint to keep from sneering at hearing the word. They were truly one of civilized societies most backward and archaic practices. Unfortunately there was little anyone could do. Their wealth was so old and so prolific even if they had no real military authority they practically ran the world through an extensive net of connections. At all costs she wanted to avoid coming across one, she especially needed to avoid having Akemi meet one as well. The girl’s hotheaded nature would likely lead her to insult or potentially even attack them once she saw how terrible they truly were, and then there would be nothing Elizabeth could do to protect her. Elizabeth turned her head in the direction of the Putt Putt Golf and expanded her senses to scan the area, she could confirm Park and the Dragons there, and poor Park seemed quite distraught.

I see, an unfortunate turn of events, and one I have no doubt was intentionally timed by the pirates assault. I believe their true target might actually be the elimination of a Celestial Dragon. If that is the case…” Elizabeth trailed off speaking to herself. This did not bode well at all. The movement of Celestial Dragons was kept extremely secret, the only way the pirates could have known was if they had a mole of sorts deep within the Marines, and it’d have to be someone fairly high up on top of that. Exactly how far did Bright Eye’s influence reach? She shouldn’t be surprised. That organization that had “recruited’ her had also had connections fairly deep within the Marines as well. The other thing that concerned her was the fact that with a Celestial Dragon in danger, it was likely that a Marine Admiral was on their way. If the Dragon themselves didn’t call them, Vice Admiral Park would have done so for sure. AT the very least this meant that there would be some serious back up on the way soon.

Before Elizabeth could contemplate the fate of the Island any further there was a loud feedback over the den den intercom system. It would seem the entire system had been hijacked by a one Pedro Bear, a famous pirate formerly known as Arena. She had heard a rumor within the Marines that he had recently been passed over for a position of Warlord. She would have expected him to be an antagonist in this situation but it would seem that he intended to help, or at least that’s what he wanted people to think. Either way he had access to the den den intercom system which she needed as well. To that end it would be best if she paid him a visit. Knowing what she did about his character she knew he’d want to be someplace center stage. That gave her a heading to focus, and after extending her sense of touch in that direction she was able to find him rather quickly.

I see. I shall go to see this Mr. Pedro myself and inquire if I could borrow the means by which he has hijacked your intercom system. Good luck you two, do your best!” Elizabeth exclaimed as she moved over towards Akemi and placed a hand on her shoulder to get her attention. She wrapped her arm around the girl’s waist and pulled her in close and tightly. She spun her Parasol upside down and opened the top. She then stood on it balancing with Akemi in tow.

Miss Akemi, we are about to take quite the ride, I ask that you hang on tight.” Elizabeth exclaimed as she turned on her jet and flame dials and adjusted the level of power into a steady rocket like exhaust thrust. The two of them took to the skies like a bullet and were gone from sight in a manner of seconds. Elizabeth’s sense of touch was useless in the air but she knew what Pedro looked like and where he was so it wouldn’t be too hard to spot him. True enough she was able to locate the man fairly quickly and then started her descent. She rocketed herself and Akemi to his location and slowed her descent to reach the ground. She cut the thrust and scooped Akemi into a princess carry as she landed, her weight cracking the stone tiles and her legs shifting to pitch black shiny obsidian for a few brief moments as she landed. Once she recovered from her landing she set Akemi down and walked towards Pedro. She kept her posture polite and nonthreatening and stopped a fair distance from him.

Greetings, it is Mr. Pedro Bear correct? My name is Elizabeth Lillian Von Truffle III, and this here is my guard/associate Miss Akemi. First allow me to say it is an honor to make your acquaintance Mr. Pedro Bear sir. Second I wish to thank you for your assistance in eliminating the pirates who seek to cause needless conflict and problems on this island. Finally might I enquire as to how you managed to acquire access to the amusement parks den den intercom system? I have a dire need for it and I would be quite indebted to you if you would allow me to use it in the same method you had so that I might make an important announcement to the denizens of this Island.” Elizabeth explained in a polite and reverent manner. She knew enough about Pedro to know he was an egotist by nature, so she opened up her conversation by stroking his ego just a bit before she got around to asking for her request. She made sure to accentuate her request by bowing politely to him when she spoke and adopting a more humble posture. Still despite that she kept her sense of touch firmly focused on him, he was a pirate after all and if he were to suddenly attack her for any reason she would be prepared.

Akemi certainly did remember that movie and all of the events that surrounded it, and she had eventually gotten over her anger at being manipulated into something like that but it was incidents like this that made the girl wonder if maybe she should have held out a bit longer still. Seeing a marine become a yelling, crazy fanboy at the drop of a hat was quite the disconcerting experience and the only fortunate thing was that his fellow marine was able to stop them in short order.

“Fame is a scary thing…..”
Akemi muttered, still eyeing the hyper marine warily. She did not appreciate Elizabeth’s words or the implication that they would be willing to spend any real time around this person either but this wasn’t the time for it just yet. And just to add o the situation, they were informed that the main reason that the Vice Admiral on the island hadn’t shown himself was because of the intervention of those Celestial Dragons. Her face twisted into poorly hidden disgust just at the mention of those bottom feeders; she was already well aware of who they were, how could she not given the fact that her families moved in the upper circles of society?

“So the park is under attack, and the main person who protects it can’t because he’s being forcibly restrained to guard some spoiled brats. Quite a troublesome situation.” Elizabeth’s theory that the attack was specifically timed to take advantage of that didn’t help her mood but it introduced something else to the equation. “All of those spoiled – celestial dragons are supposed to be able to call an Admiral right? So if one of them is in danger right now, does that mean that one of the admirals is on their way here right now?” It was a distinct possibility but it wouldn’t be good to rely on just a theory given the situation.

And then that loud voice came over the park’s intercom, leaving the marines confused as to how this new person even managed such a feat, and Elizabeth eager to hunt them down to gain access to the communication. Akemi was just trying to work out who the person was in the first place, the marines and Elizabeth clearly knew who he was and weren’t really concerned about him, but she was drawing a blank on any bounty hunters or people of positive renown that had the nickname of Arena, if she didn’t know better she would have suspected that –

Once again Akemi found herself conflicted, this time she was having difficulties determining if she should keep her newfound glare levelled at the pirate that everyone was so happy about, or if she should be staring daggers into Elizabeth. Oh she remembered him, and actually seeing the man in the flesh pieced together the disturbing puzzle. “Arena? As in the warlord contender, Arena?!” Elizabeth should know full well exactly why Akemi’s face was now twisted into a mixture of disgust and hatred as clouds of spice swirled rapidly around her. “For all we know, he’s part of this whole attack! Why would you trust anything from him?” She whispered up to her princess, starting to wonder if all the high speed flying was potentially affecting her judgement.
