Account Name: Sweets

Basic Character Information
Name: Lokh V. Sweets
Nickname: Sweets
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Affiliation: Pirate
Bounty: 0
Achievements:
Profession:

Primary~ Martial Artist
A Martial Artist is someone who specializes in hand-to-hand combat, completely or very close to unarmed. They usually have good insight in the aspects of weight, balance and movement of the body. Characters with this profession have access to certain additional traits and may create "Stance" techniques.

Secondary~ Chef
A Chef, Cook, Bartender or any other distinct related profession gives kitchen skills and knowledge about food, flavoring, ingredients, drink, and nutrients. They are masters at making the most out of whatever ingredients are available, and know how to create a balanced diet for the crew that will keep everyone in fighting trim.

Position: Entertainer/Chef

Physical Appearance
Height: 112 cm
Weight: 4.9 kg
Hair: Sweets has naturally spiky, unkempt hair, that tends to jut out each side towards the bottom due to the top hat he wears. Whenever his hat is removed, the top of his hair sprouts up into three spikes that veer towards the right until the last two hover over his forehead as bangs. His hair appears to be jet black, which makes for an odd contrast to his marshmallow white skin. The rest of his hair seems to be ruffled and messy due to wearing his hat all the time, though you could say it adds to his youthful charm.
Eyes: Black
Clothing/Accessories: Sweets has had to make due with a patchy, old, tuxedo, made by his “Granma”. His top hat is his most prized possession.
General Appearance: After eating the Mochi Mochi no Mi (Rice Rice Fruit), Sweets took on a marshmallow-like appearance: small, puffy, and white as snow. The circular rouge colored cheeks certainly pop, due to his snow white skin. Standing at a whopping 112cm, Sweets makes for one of the shortest and most adorable pirates. Due to the nature of his skin color, his hands appear to look like the fancy white gloves a well dressed performer might wear. While his eyes are black, they still shimmer with wonder and kindness, with the sort of innocence a child might have. While his body is roundish and pudgy, he by no means looks grotesque, nor overweight. His slender arms and legs helps drive this notion home. His rosy red cheeks, big eyes, and goofy smile makes him to be one of the most adorable pirates you might come across. He often finds himself grabbed up and cuddled to the point of suffocation, due to his plush like nature. The poor thing can't help but be subjected to this behavior, but at least it's technically entertaining someone, right?

The Character
Personality: Sweets, much like his name sake, is a sweet, caring individual. However, he is also cunning, and wily when he has to be. If something interests him he pursues it until it is no longer interesting. He seeks out adventure, fame, and fortune so that he can tell the stories nobody else has the courage to tell. Once he sets his mind to something he sticks to it no matter what. Sweets also has a knack for keeping things tidy, in order to show respect to whichever the crew he winds up sailing with. He isn't the most mature individual, as he seems to get away with a lot due to how young he looks. His child like behavior can vary from endearing to frustrating and while he is in fact "sweet" if you playfully take his hat he will show his more bitter side, with a sharp bite to the arm. His sour nature can also be viewed when he catches someone sleeping during his performances, or simply when someone doesn't take them seriously. Times like these really accentuate his child like behavior as he sulks in frustration. One of his major vices is candy and anything (ironically) sweet. Due to the nature of his form, he craves the sugary goodness that pastries and candy provide. Whether or not it’s his main way to sustain himself is up in the air, but he would definitely want people to believe that. True or not, he will use this as an excuse to eat his sugary confections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, often making him sick. This boy needs more meat and veggies in his diet, don’t be fooled by his nonsense!
Hometown:Ketsuraku Island (North Blue), Tellwin City
History: When Sweets was just a child of 4, he and his ambitious (or rather conning) father set sail with their crew in search of fame and fortune. However, one dark, unforgiving night, the ocean raged against their boat, toppling their sail and ultimately sinking their ship. Tossing and turning on the deck, the two were separated before succumbing to the open sea. When he came to, Sweets found himself washed ashore a strange island with nothing left of his father but a soggy, raggedy top hat. Devastated, alone, and scared, Sweets picked up the memento, placing it on his head. This would be when he realized that he was surrounded. Nothing but strange women as far as the eye could see, each with a puzzled look as they studied him. It seemed like eternity before he decided to take his first step towards the crowd, timidly. However, before he could make it two steps, he collapsed, waking up in a strange room. Here, an elderly woman tended to his wounds, “Granma” he heard her called. Upon first glance he didn’t know what to make of her. The large, eccentric, blue wig made him question the sanity of this old lady. Still, she didn’t leave his side at all, through his entire ordeal. He had caught pneumonia, he was told, and nobody was for certain he would make it through. Still, Granma never gave up on him. She treated and nursed him back from the brink of death.

When he was well enough, he insisted to help out around her house. He cooked, cleaned, and scrubbed the floors until they shined. Three years passed when he began to grow fond of all the attention he received. Every time he was sent out to get groceries or run an errand, he would be swarmed with onlookers. He didn’t understand that he was a rarity, but it was alright because he soon took to entertaining the crowds of women. He would put on shows, sing, dance, and tell jokes to get the crowd roaring for more. Eventually, Granma patched together a tuxedo to go with his top hat. Soon, he would be putting on more complex acts and shows for his adoring fans.

Sadly, his popularity started to dwindle as he began to notice his predicament. He was one of few males living on this island. He started asking around, only stirring up trouble, and gaining the disapproval of the crowd he grew to love so much. He couldn’t stand that nobody would tell him what happened, and vowed that he would never let a good story go untold.

His spare time freed up from constant entertaining, Sweets decided to search around for more stories, eventually leading him to discover the Hidden Fist Dojo. it would be here, where he would secretly study from afar. He watched various fighting techniques, trying desperately to practice and master them. No matter how much effort he put in, he never seemed to get it. Sure, he was good compared to outsider’s, never studying the art, but he was incredibly mediocre next to the students. Finally, a master of the Dojo discovered his efforts, and began to teach him directly. “You’re not drunk”, he recalls being told. Since this error could not be corrected for many years, being 7 years old, the Master decided to teach him a better suited martial art - Sambo. Sweets picked it up at an astonishing rate. It felt natural, and “honest” as he recalled the feeling. He didn’t have to pretend to drink, or lower his inhibitions. It still had the freedom and fluidity he sought in a fighting style, but with a wrestling flavor.

Sweets soon grew bored of the housework Granma had let him do, and wished to help in the rice paddy fields. Granma was of course surprised to witness such dedication from a child, though she insisted he stick to house chores until he was old enough. This wasn’t a good enough answer for him, and one day he decided to peek in on the rice workers to see how they worked. It was here where he noticed a couple of ladies arguing with someone. He couldn’t make out who she was, but her very presence seemed to have very one on edge. “Pirate” he heard the nervous whispers. This was inspiring news to him, for he was now smack dab in the middle of his latest story. He snuck in closer, overhearing the pirate’s ungrateful grunts as she took whatever she had came for.

He followed her all the way back to her ship, hiding in the Captain’s Quarters, as she plopped a strange fruit on her desk and left. It was about 30 minutes in, until he found the courage to sneak out but before he made it to the door, he already felt the entire room rock and sway. “Oh no!” he yelped before stumbling to the shifting floor. He hadn’t been on a ship in years, and his memories of his life before the island had all but vanished. The image of the man he adored was now just a tall shadow. Being on a moving ship sent him into hysterics, he reverted back to his younger, emotionally devastated and untrusting self as he crammed himself under a few loose panels in the floor, hiding below.

Days went by before he could gather the courage to come out from his hiding in search of food. When he peaked his head out, he noticed the item the pirate had taken was some sort of fruit. Starving and desperate, and gobbled it up in one bite before the Captain barged in. She grew silent, staring at the boy before walking back out and slamming it shut. She couldn’t make out was she was yelling, and most of the muffled words were things he had either heard Granma say on occasion or words he just outright didn’t understand. They sounded nasty, though, and the Captain definitely sounded displeased.

When she reentered the room, she had a huge, fake, smile painted across her face.
“You… didn’t eat that fruit on my desk, did you?”
“No” Sweets confidently said.
“Listen here you little sh-“ she exclaimed in frustration, clawing towards him as the crew held her back. She sighed and recollected herself before approaching Sweets again.
“I know you ate it. You know how I know?
Sweets just shook his head timidly. The captain cleared her throat and corralled him towards a mirror.
“Don’t scream, boy” she ordered him, her hands covering his eyes. He nodded before she let go. There was a long silence. Sweets remembered it lasted almost as long as when he first came to, back at the island. However, his reaction would definitely throw off the Captain. He pressed his hands and body against the mirror and admired himself. He looked flashy, his appearance was unique and could catch anyone’s eye. It would only help his performances.

His skin was now snow white, his cheeks a rosy red, and his height had shrunk. He was a bit puffy around his waist as well, and noticed his skin was as soft as a marshmallow. On top of that, his hands were now cartoonishly large and with the white skin, now looked like gloves. He also found his nose was completely gone. He turned around and gave the Captain a mean look as if to say “give it back”. She chuckled and shrugged her shoulders saying to get used to it.

He was told he had eaten the Mochi Mochi no Mi - the Rice Rice Fruit, and that he could never swim again. This had very little effect on him, since he was always afraid to swim anyway. He would also be granted several skills and powers from eating this fruit. The captain, though angry, decided to temporarily allow the kid to stay aboard… for 8 years. His appearance in that time never seemed to change, as his new form seemed set to this small, pudgy build.

In that “short” time he grew to love being part of a pirate crew. The captain took a shine to him, teaching him about the world, further inspiring Sweets. There were many stories to be told, but the Captain made sure he stayed out of any Piratey affairs, telling him he would eventually have to find a different crew so he could make stories of his own.

When porting at Stearr Island, the Captain decided it was finally time to leave Sweets. When the crew asked why, she simply answered she was tired of the snot nosed brat, though she of course was just putting on a tough act. She would miss him, but knew if he was to become a pirate he would have to find his own way and join a different crew that might better suit him.

Sweets now finds himself alone in a bustling city. He must now find a way to survive on his own, be it eating leftovers from the garbage, or conning unsuspecting tourists with his “shows”

Abilities and Possessions
Combat: Sweets uses the art of Sambo - a grappling fighting style. Since he ate the Rice Rice Fruit when he is wet he is able to stick, so he often will lick his hands or dampen his feet so that he can plant himself before the enemy. This is extremely useful for when he takes on large sumo wrestlers. This is a common con he pulls to gain a quick buck, but it can also be used for more serious fights. Though small and very light, his fists pack a punch, and his strength certainly is a mystery to any unsuspecting challenger. He can also stick or climb up anything to gain the high ground. His fists and Devil Fruit powers are his only physical weapons, however it could be argued that his art of deception and misdirection is an even stronger tool for battle. He is a very tricky fighter who uses his entertainment to get that edge he might need. Be it singing, acting, or the use of magician like tricks, he is able to fool and confound his opponents.
Items: The only important item to note is his top hat, the only memento of his father. Should his hat go missing, Sweets will begin panicking and shouting for his dad, as though he is instantly taken back to the horrid night he lost his family.
Also carried in his satchel, is a load of sweet mochi balls, cooked up from scratch. Can be used to either munch on or to be chewed up and spat as projectiles.

90cm is too short. We haven't officially made One Piece dwarves a thing yet, and we're not sure if we ever will. Considering you're human, the absolute minimum for height is 3'7" which is like, I don't even know, 100 something cm? I know it's not much of a difference, but we are how we are. Your character will still be totes adorbs.

One paragraph (100+ words) at least for both Clothing and General. Even with a picture, the more detail you can provide the better the people you RP with can imagine your character. Which sounds redundant since you have photographic evidence of Sweets, but still.

Woah I skipped over something important. Copy and paste the full description for Martial Artist, and I'm not sure if you meant for Entertainer to be your secondary, but if you did, copy and paste that too and put it under Professions and Martial Artist. You can keep your position as entertainer, though, if that's what Sweets is.

Need a blues for Tellwin City.

You can add everything you put in Weaponry under Combat, but unless you have an actual weapon, put N/A next to Weaponry.

SD Earned and so on that you left blank, put "N/A" or some indication that you have nothing to put there. Nitpicky, I know, but please humour me. However, put 32 next to Stat Points.

You only used 29 of your starting Stat Points, and IDK why. You have three more to use and remember that you don't directly invest Stat Points into you fortune, it's your total SP divided by four - in this case, your fortune would be eight.

Same thing for used Stat Point: 32, and N/A on the one below it.

You need to go to the traits section of the rules and copy and paste "Specific Devil Fruit" trait - all of it - and replace the X with a 3 as Mochi cost three traits. You then have one profession trait that you can use on either Martial Artist or Entertainer traits - I'd suggest Hardened Fighter because that sounds kinda neat in conjunction with Mochi Mochi.

Regular Technique Points will be 16 as it's Fortune x2.

I don't know what you're doing with your Technique section, but 'Tis but a Scratch is a trait, not a technique - and it's for weapon specialist only if I recall. Remove it, please.

"Mochi Mochi Missile!" - while Mochi is an interesting fruit, you're not going to be able to stretch like that - or at least, not to that extent. I would suggest removing it.

Mochi Mochi Grapple has way too many things going on. If you want to try and suplex someone using the fact that you can make yourself sticky, fine, but the technique will be just that - and you have to be what kind of suplex. a normal suplex, German, Dragon. Also keep in mind that, as a personal suggestion from me, grappling is awkward in the RP - I assume that you will never actually PvP once in your entire OPRP career, so you can grapple NPCs for days (so long as they're not controlled by a narrator)

Again, Massacre, you're not able to stretch like you're Gomu - that's the vibe I am getting. Also, that is a gattling technique which would be Rank 8.

You're also missing your free basic Mochi Mochi technique that gives you the basic abilities of what the Mochi Mochi fruit can do.

I'm sorry if this is a bit much, but I'd rather try and fix this than ruin your fun and risk you running off. I personally like the character, especially how you added the additional effect of Mochi and how it makes your adorable.

Ohh no worries! It certainly is a lot to correct, but I would rather my character be appropriate for RP than to have gaping flaws! I do have a couple of questions, however. Is it okay if Entertainer is a secondary choice, or should I just keep it as my position?

By needs a blues, do you mean I need to put the area of the sea its located?

I am completely and utterly confused as to where to put traits, and as you can tell the techniques section really threw me for a loop. I see I have "normal" tech points to spend, is that to "buy" the techniques such as the ones made? How do I determine how much they are worth?

So if I made a technique that involved using the sticky effect that occur once applied, to curl up into a ball for a "roll out" sort of attack, would that work?

Also since Sweets is made of what I assume is mochi like substance, would he be able to wind himself up or is that also just a stretchy move? I was thinking of an attack that involved winding up and spinning a barrage of punches at the enemy.

Also does PvP just not happen often? Is that a good thing? I don't mind either way, I just prefer lots of player interaction with others.

Thanks again for the tips! I appreciate your patience!

Right, so I would take a look at someone else's app to help clarify things a bit, but traits are not techniques and don't go under that portion of the app. They go between stats and techs, and you start with 3 general traits and 1 professional one.

Your fortune is a meta stat that you don't really invest in like you invest in other stats. It's not really important to you right now how to invest in it, so I'll spare you that so you have less to process, but it's the average of your other 4 stats. At 32 SP, it would be 8.

Your normal technique points are your fortune*2, with special points coming from certain traits. As for their effects, I'd kindly ask you to reread the technique thread in the rules section.

As for possibilities of techniques, this isn't really the place to discuss them. I would say to ask people in the chatbox, or try this thread- http://s1.zetaboards.com/One_Piece_RP/topic/5246416/1/

PVP happens here, but not very often, and in most cases, it's pretty light hearted, or otherwise done OOC.

Alright, so your last tech, the one where you spit out your arm... You do realize that your arm doesn't regrow right? And that it'd hurt terribly? And you'd bleed? and just... I'm going to deny it. I don't like it.

I think yoru other techs are fine.

I dont bite the arm off, it's a skin deep bite, since the flesh is malleable and can easily be repaired. Also since it's a flesh wound, and due to the nature of my devil fruit ability, I am resistant to flesh wounds. Plus, it's not something to be used often, just in a jam. Since I'm a chef I can always patch it up by making more mochi. I can understand the confusion though.

No, I think I understand your confusion since it's worded weirdly.

You don't regrow your flesh. Your flesh is that sort of material! Which is the dry and sticky stuff. But, when it's gone, it's gone. You can't replace flesh with cooking ingredients.

You CAN use your abilities to comb over small cuts and what not by folding it over.

To quote the fruit: "The user's body is resistant to blunt damage and minor (flesh wound level) cuts, as their form can bend with the blows and squeeze shut over small cuts." Small ones, sure. Big ones, no, not at all.

But it would be a flesh wound, is what I intended at least. it wasnt going to be a big chunk of the arm. I'll change it anyways, at least until I can figure out a way if any to gain some sort of regeneration ability I suppose. Also in terms of blood and such, to answer that question, I never took that into consideration. I always assumed I was more or less solid, marshmallowy, mochi but the comment about blood helps put it into perspective. I just always considered it an innocent cutesy attack. Was that the only problem you had with my character? Including history, story, etc?

Alright, tell me when you've changed it. Also, remember Mochi cannot debuff, it doesnt' really work that way. The other mods agree with me that it's not cutesy, it's actually disgusting since real world logic is still applied here.

And, I mean yes. After other mods go in and do the heavy stuff, I normally just go through the techs and help people that way.

No disrespect intended, but is flat out calling it disgusting really necessary here? That seems a bit harsh for a world where people can be made of rubber, reindeer can become humanoid, cyborgs can use special fart attacks, and some can even slice their bodies in multiple segments. I agree it won't work as I can't regenerate, but I don't really think it's all that crazy or gross of an attack.

Real world logic isn't exactly the best way to describe how One Piece works, anyways.

As said, I always considered that the character would be made completely out of mochi, its not as if it were crafted with the idea of him having flesh and blood in mind. It's just a candy based kid using his wiles and working with what he's got in desperate situations. However, I realize now when I wrote the character I was thinking the fruit worked in the same way the logia fruit worked, thinking it made the character into actual mochi. That's why I didn't think it was so weird since it wasnt flesh and blood when I wrote it. However, I realize now it's not a logia fruit and I could see why you might thought it was gross, not knowing where I was coming from.

The rant aside, I'm fixing it to where he cooks up actual mochi before hand, and carries a bunch around as "ammo".

Hey there Sweets, I think forgot to mention in the chatbox but props for how your character picture turned out ^^

Now onto the harder stuff: For Clothing/Accessories, could you write a bit more? I get that he only has the one pair of clothing, but what happens if that gets dirty, or it gets ripped and he needs to wear something else temporarily?! This section just needs to be a full length paragraph, much like your General section.

Everything you have listed in the Items section could in fact be moved to your Clothing/Accessories!

For Mochi Mochi Tumble, is there any reason why he dampens himself beforehand? Is it so he sticks to the opponent? It's pretty cool technique, though it''d also help if you were mention how, unless I've missed his method on dampening.

Nom Nom Mochi won't be able to debuff, though it may seem like it should, neither Martial Artist nor Chef as a secondary has a debuff ability. There is a trait called Critical Hit for Martial Artists which you can take once you hit 50 SD earned, that'd allow you to make a debuff technique. Furthermore, as a Rank 4 technique, you won't be able to fire your ammo at an amazingly fast speed, instead it'd be a little bit better than spitting it out yourself, though at later ranks, you can definitely make it a branch it into a more fearsome technique!

For Mochi Mochi Tumble, the reason I had for dampening his body was so that his body could stick together into a ball. As for how, I always pictured him pouring a bucket of water before hand. If that's the case, however, maybe I should better reflect that in the description.

It will be a bit longer before I can make the rest of the changes, but it should be fixed within the next couple of days.

Thanks for your patience!

hey buddy

Sorry just noticed your edits on the app were missed for a very long time by the staff.

Only part I noticed wrong with the app is Specific Devil Fruit [Pata Pata no Mi] (3 General Traits) needs to be [Mochi Mochi no Mi] instead. I'll flag you on the condition that is changed before approval!
