Alot of these techs didn't have a material breaking effect in their previous incarnation, which means you can't just tag one on now. Anything that had an iron breaking effect can be bumped to steel but for things like nail storm, flaming buzzer etc that didn't have the effect you can't just now add "breaks steel". If you wanted a material breaking effect added you would have to branch them into upgraded versions separately.

hammer of rage allows you to break materials one tier earlier then usual, allowing any tech below rank 14 to break tier 1, anything between rank 14 and 27 to break tier 2, 28 and 43 to break tier 3 and anything above rank 44 can disable tier 4.

I was also told I could upgrade techniques without making new ones (as everyone can)

one of the techs in question is nail bullet which is a rank 14 but I am only making it break iron rather then making it break steel which at rank 14 would normally be doable with hammer of rage, and with no other ability tacked onto it (other then haki) it could very well just be upgraded without increasing the tech rank (I asked about this as well)

Okay, let me clear something up. Hammer of Rage, yes, allows your iron breakers to become steel breakers--your steel breakers to become titanium breakers. Keeping up with the current pattern, this means that your techs that do not break any tiers will be able to break nothing more than iron.

If you want your techs Nail Bullet and Nail Storm to break steel and titanium respectively you must first pay the necessary tp. Same goes for the Buzzer techs.

That's my stance on that matter. I have another beef though, your techs like RFB-14 and Piston Ram for examples and the fact that they were approved.

I'm confused....your saying to make something like nail bullet able to break steel...I would have to have it break Iron first...but with HoR I can break Iron with a rank 1 and Nail bullet does nothing at Rank 14 but fire a nail, already in the rank range and paid for to be able to break iron, I just didn't select it to do so on creation, but now I have to pay more?

or are you saying I should edit it to say it breaks iron, and then that gets a free upgrade to Steel due to Hammer of rage? I'm really confused here

nail bullet should be med range

Blazer shot doesn't get the hammer of rage benefit, hammer of rage basically works on the principle that you hit weak points in metallic structures in order to break them easier. Buzzer works on the principle of just heating something up, hammer or rage does nothing to increase the effectiveness of heat or wether it's hot enough to melt through a material.

Same for wave

Rapid fire needs to be through continuous fire maruki can bust through steel

Piston ram - MAruki can use it's attack to bust through steel.

Also can you put a clause in each that explains they will fall to pieces after use, they should be single use like all other creation techs.

why is nail bullet suddenly being changed to medium when it was allowed long range at a lower rank?

I was told by Speak that HoR gives it's bonus to ALL techs that have material breaking.

Why does RFB-14 require multiple hits now? when it was initially approved as is? all that has changed on it is the HoR upgrade.

PR-28 meets the benchmark to break titanium using HoR.

I was told that creation techs like this had a "life span" of rank/4 posts not single use

No you weren't told that by speak because it's not true. You may have misinterpreted what he was saying though. The way the trait works is as i just explained, it's the same reason that if you were hitting say a zoan's bug armor you wouldn't get the bonus, because smith's know nothing about the weaknesses in that context.

Because that is how gatlings work, it should have been done like that initially, wasn't, now we fix it.

It does, that was my bad i actually meant titanium there not steel.

There are very few creation techs that have a duration, something like a poison gas grenade might have it's poison linger for a duration, but that only really serves to increase the changes of application. The actual effect will only be inflicted once.

For something like these creations that actual effect is immediate when you fire it, so once they had been used they would need to fall apart and require another use of the tech to be used again. Otherwise what you essentially have is a steel breaking cannon that you can fire at will for 4 posts or alternatively have someone else fire, and that's really not at all what the trait is intended to give you.

when I made my techs 2 years ago not 1 mod mentioned a 1 post life span, when asked staff I was told rank/4 or until broken.

Also yes I was told that buy speak when I asked again to clarify, he told me he hadn't told me the whole thing, he then corrected himself.

In those 2 years we've had 2+ patches, it's not hugely surprising standards would change.

fair enough, i can't much help you with what previous mods have told you. But if you just build these and they sat around performing their function adinfinatum up to a post limit they would be items not creation techs. It wouldn't be a 1 post span it would be until their function was performed, so you could build your ballista and it would stay built for as long as you want, but once it's used it crumbles.
