Account Name: mockday
Basic Character Information
Name: Wiltrude Famino
Nickname: the Criminal Upper, or Longlegs,
Age: 19
Gender: male,
Race: human (longleg tribesman),
Affiliation: pirate
Bounty: 0
Achievements: was a real troublemaker back on Couture Island
Profession:

Thief - primary - the Thief is a job closely related to the assassin. They both provide stealth capabilities, though a Thief gains lockpicking skills instead of poison knowledge, can generally know their way around the ways of barter and trade, and pickpocketing. Thieves don't have it hard to find 'underground info' in most cities, either. Thieves will gain an extra 10% in Beli rewards in all Storylines they complete (for themselves). They also have access to stealth techniques.

Marksman - secondary - the profession of Marksman provides sound experience and insight in calculating range, distance and wind elements and their impact on the path of a projectile. It is a general trait that applies to guns, slingshots, cannons, rifles and the like. People without this profession will have little to no luck in firing cannonballs where they are supposed to go under normal battle conditions.

Position: n/a

Physical Appearance
Height: 7'3
Weight: 159 lbs
Hair: jet black
Eyes: light chocolate

Clothing/Accessories:

Wiltrude is a globe-trotting criminal and his garb reflects that all the more. He is proud of his longlegs, fake smiles and stolen goods to the point of making them the most defining elements in regards to how he carries himself. When it comes to fashion, he wears the clothes that he thinks best represent his capabilties and his achievements. Most of the time, this consists of shop-lifted black jackets and clashing bright pants, the occasional hawaian shirt or designer scarf. He tends to curl up his sleeves at the ends to further show off the numerous other shirts he wears underneath. The pattern on his attire varies but more often than not it's a mish-mash of darks and greys. In addition, he tends to put a dozens little notes onto the sleeves as constant reminders and reference material. A light brown sash is wrapped around his waist to hold the numerous jackets closed, seeing as most tend to not have functional zippers or buttons on them.

Exaggerated would be the word that best describes his usual attire. For the most part, he carries whatever spoils he acquires on himself, covering his torso in stolen blazers, vests, furs and trenchcoats. The criminal uses these coats to conceal and hide his wide arsenal of firearms. He collects them on various spots on his body, including the waist, chest and hip. He tends to pad himself down on regular occassions, which has ingrained their positions into his mind. His ludicrous amount of accessories is rounded up with the occasional price tag still on it, raising more suspicion with each new garment he steals. Asking him to stop being so obvious about his misdeeds would be like asking him to cut off his legs or worse. He cannot control himself when faced with such luxurious goods. Though he likes wearing just the occasional buttoned up shirt and lightweight clothing, it mostly doesn't last long until he adds on another layer or two of clothes onto himself.

The malcontent is also partial to his own pair of trousers that give the impression of being quite comfortable, despite their absurd lenght. It's pant-legs are extended to further accomodate his extra joints to their fullest. His trousers are much more often on the lighter side of the spectrum, to the point of often being confused with white. While Wiltrude does have a distaste for shorts and other low-cut trousers, he has to equip most of his tighter variants with detachable lower halves in order to ease things up while running. He was never one for conveniences, though the slacks do allow him at least some semblance of freedom throughout the day. He also wears a pair of brown loafers or black shoes that do their job of protecting his feet just fine. His laceless footwear were chosen on the same principle, as he simply prefers his house-shoes over sandles, heavy boots or being barefooted.

One of the more interesting things about his appearance is that despite his abundance of clothing, he still wears hats. On a regular basis he is often seen wearing his beret-esque cap with several small needles sticking out it. He uses these pins to further secure more headwear such as pork pie hats or bowlers to further stack them on each other. The top-heavy nature of his attire, coupled with his form-fitting pants are all rounded up with long streams of wool. He wears multiple scarves around his neck, alongside various pins and small notes which he also attaches to them. As previously mentioned he tends to use these as constant reminders, be it for things that should be common knowledge, such as chores, groceries, names, or even common phrases he uses on a daily basis. There seems to be no information mundane enough for Wiltrude not to write down.

General Appearance:

The very first thing one would notice about Wiltrude, right after his rather unnatural legs and bizarre attire, is his beautiful face. His thin lips are located beneath a sculpted nose, curved to the point of perfection. He has a narrow face with a pronounced jaw. His eyes are a light hazel that tends to show a joyous expression, lacking in any sort of immediate concern. Strands of raven black hair form a curtain around him, which turn his head into a ruffled bob-cut. He prefers to keep them at shoulder-lenght, or shorter, reaching a few inches short of his nape. They are the ideal contrast to his pale complexion and untanned frame. Dark as the night sky, yet rough and definitely not silky to the touch, Wiltude's hair is a mess and a half that resulted from his unorthodox life choices. Thin eyebrows decorate the area underneath his bangs in a manner that puts further emphasize on his mischevious expressions.

At first glance none would be the wiser to his awkward behavior and habits, for most strangers would meet an indifferent expression that only further enhances what some would consider a carefree demeanor. He dawns a fairly normal physique for someone of his age. Although his clothes don't do him much justice, he's actually rather trim and fit. Being an avid runner and in constant pursuit by the law has toned his body to the point of it being lean yet muscular right down to his finger tips. Delicate and long, his hands are strong yet nimble, the ideal combination for a sharpshooter. They are however rather effeminate, lacking in blemishes and callouses, except for a few lighter spots from pricking his fingers on a near constant basis.

A tall man of fair build, Wiltrude stands at the lofty height of 7'3, He stands out in a group whether he wants to or not. Despite having fairly broad shoulders, the criminal's build still appears to be composed mainly of long limbs, especially in regards to his jointed legs which take up most of his body's height. His appendages were trained to offer a good balance between his weight and his pistols' actual stopping power. In general, the vicious and ever-changing lifestyle of a robber has gifted him with a overall fit physique and more than enough strenght in his feet to be flexible and effective in combat.

The Character
Personality:
First and foremost, there is no better word to describe Wiltrude than excessive. He is polished and respecting in all matter of things, a prisoner to politeness and formality while also maintaing a personality centered around pretense. To Wiltrude, image is everything and he is aware of his position as a criminal, his own culture, as well as the countless haves and wants he has to balance. Though, to uphold the image of a considerate, reserved or even impartial thief of the common people is a task that frustrates him to no end. He's a rather clumsy fellow, making stupid mistakes and forgetting obvious facts that no one in their right mind would do.

Wiltrude's particular outlook on life stems from having nothing to lose, not even his memory which has turned spotty over the years. When it comes to remembering things, it's as if the criminal was raised in the wilds. Names, locations, sometimes even entire words seem to leave his mind for brief periods of time, which return at the most inappropriate of times. He has trouble coming up with insults, clever retorts or even explanations as to what he is even doing half the time. He's quick, but the quality of his wit is surprisingly irrelevant and often incomprehensible. He has a gentle steadiness to speech and tone that make him an absolute smooth-talker, but his choice of words is on the usual, rather awful. Small phrases and play on words is lost on him, as he scrambles to find the appropriate words on his countless notes.

The price of meeting expectations remains the one constant in his life and something that even he is well aware of. However, ever since he was just a lad he had this inert feeling that he was destined to do something great and important. His parents were quite supportive of his endeavors, but not so much of his extravagances and his law-breaking. He was shunned for demanding the best, for not conforming to the ways of poverty and for not acting appropriately. He's grown out of that, for the most part and accepted his overall standing in the world as an outsider. Wiltrude is still a bit immature, he enjoys gossiping, talking about fashion, cute things and the importance of fanciness. It's the attitude of someone who's never thought about being at bottom of the well, only heard of the successful lives of others and is trying to emulate it to no avail. Whatever he wants he demanded, simply by asking for it nicely the right amount of times, preferbly while threatening them with bullets. He has the tenacity for anything, whether he has the right mindset for it may be another thing seeing as even his current life of crime is nothing more than a stroke of luck, in and of itself.

His political and moral stances rest within the realm of his own targets. Never has there been a man so trusting and welcoming of the higher class and their property as he is. Perhaps to the point of jeaopardizing entire operations in favour of mimicking the high society and their flare for useless trinkets, or fashion statements. Wiltrude has a very strong belief that everyone around him is just as starved for riches as he is. The idea of class warfare, prejudice and grudges over social standings very rarely enter his mind and are the main reason he is at a constant odds with his own roots and former class.

It is clear that what Wiltrude values most in life is fame and fortune. There is this almost child-like innocence to him and his moral compass, which is often one that is prone to sweeping generalizations and ignorance of circumstance. Wiltrude knows what it means to lose everything, but would rather die than return to that awful state as he's been show what it means to be rich. The criminal understands that, is certain of what is wrong with the world and thinks that without greed, people would be unable to further themselves.

As mentioned before, Wiltrude is known for his odd thought-process and bursts of indiscriminate genius. Although appearing half-witted and scatterbrained most of the time, his words tend to leave his lips in an almost premeditated fashion, tailored to the issue at hand. He has a rather simple outlook on life and likes that he's not considered bland or uninteresting. Being average means having the responsibilities of a commoner and Wiltrude has had enough of those to last him a lifetime. There have been moments where he was asked if what he did was for the sake of some higher purpose, society at large, or rather just for himself. He has thus far been unable to answer that with anything other than a brief nod and some more wild gunfire.

Perhaps, the only other thing people might notice about him is the aura of control that he has to himself. He doesn't have the authority nor the mental fortitude to be in charge but still considers himself above the masses, for better or worse. It's a form of acquired leadership, an innate refusal for the natural order and partially caused by having him forget what being a respectable member of society even looks like. It's like, when Wiltrude orders someone around, he does so out the kindness of his heart even when his words are directed at the ones he's holding up at gunpoint.

Hometown: Couture Island, Grand Line

History:
The birth of a son is on the usual a grandous occasion and though it was, one could've hoped for more jubilant circumstances. Wiltrude was born on a cold winter's day sometime after the toppling of the Fashino Famino Empire, one of the then largest houses on Couture Island. The child was born to the long-legged, male-underwear model and female prodige designer pair who were once at the head of the now defunct mega-corporation. The Faminos had up until Wiltrude's arrival been a family of powerful entrepreneurs, who lost their status after a series of controversial business decisions, all made in light of their new successor's birth. The cause of it all was that the philosophies of both parents differed on a fundamental level. While his mother believed that Wiltrude should follow the path of a fashion designer, the father had already made plans for his son in regards to his long-legged modeling career.

At the time, Wiltrude was oblivious to the internal war among members of his family. He was a happy child who was rather quiet, he never caused a ruckus or even threw a fit in anger. He was cheerful and continued about as though the slow descent of his parent's empire didn't bother him in the least. It was some time after Wiltrude had learned to walk that their partnership had been severed and split into two different factions. His parents divorced in a hurricane of legal blows, which culminated in the father winning after both had wasted their vast fortune on the expensive proceedings and arrangements. For what it was worth, his mother never stood a chance with her previous squanderings and wasteful habits. Their empire dissolved into nothing. It would also be the last day Wiltrude would lead his life with a silver spoon in his mouth, though would be told tales of fame and fortune all throughout his childhood. His personal training started after the court sessions had settled and ever since, he would wake up to the sound of yelling and modelling sessions for years to come.

On a related note, he would later find that his mother had remarried mere months later. The child was not really disappointed, he expected this to happen the moment he noticed the decreasing frequency with which she visited them. Wiltrude's father emphasized loyalty to one's partner and how it was a valuable trait to have if one were to surive in this grusome world. Though the father did not leave him all that much time to be depressed.

The former underwear-model knew what was ahead for his son, he had it all planned from the first moment onwards. He had not left a single stint out of his personal schedule. Wiltrude's father wanted a successor and his child exhibited all that was needed in order to pursue that idea. He wanted to make a fashion icon that could in essence mesmerize audiences with a single, well-placed glance. From the age of six, Wiltrude's outlook on life was forever changed. Making friends, educatation or even going outside for that matter became foreign concepts to him. His world was in essence a controlled environment. His father schooled him from their mediocre shack of a home, picked out his raggedy clothes and replaced his acquaintances and extended family with the make-shift runways.

Of course it only got worse as time went on, his training expanded to cover aiming firearms, intimidating glares, intense cardio to remain in shape and tone his leg muscles. Wiltrude was being made into a clothing mannequin with enough knowledge on pistols, rifles and gunpowder than could be considered healthy for a ten year old boy. The idea to incorporate such dangerous tools in his schedule was pure speculation on part of his father, who thought a 'killer look' also entailed 'a look that could kill'. A model that could maintain his pristine appearance at all cost was dangerous, especially when raised among the poor and helpless. He never complained, he never questioned it and Wiltrude continued his sheltered life well into his teens.

At age thirteen he had his first real encounter with the outside world and he had not even graduated from his father's teaching at that time. Criminals, pocket-thieves and other scum felt drawn to the model's innocent outlook on life. The troublemakers began exploiting his naive nature in their various schemes and cons. A cute child made for the ideal distraction to steal from older ladies obsessed with luxurious clothes and well-sculpted bodies. Wiltrude never really talked to anyone but he was always kind and helpful in that regard. He thought it to be fun and began his own venture in a life of crime and stealing. Though when the authorities would come to his father to find some sort of retribution, he received a scolding but never an actual beating or even punishment. It all seemed rather weird.

Rather than issue beatings and insults, he introduced a practice that would have mixed results as far as the child's developing behaviour was concerned. His crimes had turned into challanges, with bonuses ranging from better meals to more breaks or extra excerises and other forms of reprehension should he be caught. This sense of risk versus reward was forced onto him on a regular basis until it had become part of his subconscious. Wiltrude's father considered this to be a test to see how well his subtle ticks and facial expressions reacted to adrenaline. It would not leave him a criminal wreck at his age but it certainly encouraged his want for recognition to turn into pure greed.

As he began to obtain a name for himself throughout the island's richer districts the authorities, accurately enough called the 'Fashion Police' had blamed Wiltrude's father for having raised the malcontent into a criminal. Accusations of property damage, theft and disturbing the peace at large were direct results of it. Though, being the stubborn creature that he was, the underwear-model refuted their charges and in a fit of uneeded anger had assaulted one of the law enforcers. Wiltrude's sole remaining parent was shot in the resulting scuffle. With his father's ever-present gaze nowhere to be found, he considered this the final straw in a long series of desperate trials. His body tensed and the young man stared down his opposition. He felt fear indeed, but it was not only that, the absoluteness of his stare had attained what some would consider to be perfection. There was an unknown aspect of how Wiltrude's eyes remained so focused and poised but explosive as well. The once carefree and careless child had become the model that his father had wished for.

At nineteen, he received all of his father's collective research papers and remaining riches as the sole successor of the Famino name. With his mother nowhere to be found, Wiltrude had settled on leaving Couture Island in search of better things. Several pistols, a wallet filled with cash and some rather interesting theories on appearance and it's effect on humans was all that was left. He was free for once in his life, no longer bound to a career that never flourished, or a father that didn't consider his feelings. He boarded several vessels headed towards one of the four Blues after all had been said and done. In hindsight, it did cost the courts a pretty penny to cover the bloodshed and the silence of several witnesses. They had managed to rid themselves of the teenager for a brief time, despite their rather obvious attempts at bribing him. The thought alone had ripped his prior aspirations to shreds but replaced those with an incredible want for wealth and fortune.

He would not rest until the riches of the world belonged to him.

Clues and other motives:
- Suffers from bizarre instances of long and short term memory loss. He forgets basic facts such as names, directions and landmarks. Also has trouble remembering certain common phrases and words which he tends to write down.

- Gained his nickname after a brief stint with the law, which lead to him being cussed out, as what he remembers to be, a 'Criminal Upper'. The term itself means little to nothing and is probably not even a real thing, but nonetheless Wiltrude adopted it as something of a prefix to his name. He uses it to falsely attribute an insignificant rise in crime rates on Couture Island to himself.

- Wiltrude carries his pistols holstered for the most part inside his many jackets and the pockets inside them. They are spread out evenly among his entire lenght. One is located underneath his left armpit, a pair next to his upper right and lower left breast, another on his left hip, behind his back tied under his belt as well as one strapped to the side of his right shin.

Abilities and Possessions

Combat:
Wiltrude has knack for dealing with his opponents. He makes extensive use of his own nature as a distant relative of the Longleg Tribe, with a particular fondness for violent kicks, knee presses, evasive jumps and dodges. He strives to take advantage of his muscular legs, capable of withstanding at least a few direct blows with little effort and use his intense movements to cross the battlefield in an instant.

An avid hit and runner, he makes the best of making a sudden retreat and returning with a sudden blow from his knee, pistol or otherwise. His trigger-fingers offer the criminal a solid mixture of ranged support and safety. He creates openings so he can further radiate with raw power and visual trickery as he fires his numerous guns in quick succession. In the same glamerous vein, Wiltrude loves to improvise and incorporate bits of his surroundings such as tables, barrels and counters as cover, or as a means to further elevate himself above his targets.

As a personal preference, he chains fast turns, surprise grabs or pushes to control the distance in his encounters. His focus is on outreaching and outlasting his opponents for as long as possible, rather than defeating them outright. The main goal of a robber is to return unscathed, even if it involves dangerous maneuvers and an extensive amount of gunpowder. His abudance of long distance sprints and being chased on a near constant basis have made him a formidable runner, able to retreat or pursue as the situation dictates.

Hey there, Mock!

What do the *'s next to your techniques ranks symbolize?

We're usually not keen on starter characters having recognised crimes, especially to the point where you were awarded an epithet.

The asterix is just there as a general indicator of rank, just so it's more transparent. Pay it no heed in that regard, it's more for personal convenience and fancy formating.

I also changed up the title thing, just so it becomes a little less important. It probably fits the character better now, anyway.

one of oprp's conventions for the Mastery Trait is to put an asterisk next to the rank name, for the sake of clarity, I'd say remove it. Pretty please!

Awkwardly enough: Thief/Assassin primary is required for actual mechanized stealth-related techniques.
Okay, fine, I actually have characters.

Welp, no harm done. Asterixes have been removed. I'll keep that in mind for the future, since I can see it managed to fly by with my prior application. That one did have a mastery trait to it though, so I guess that's that.

Switched out the primary and secondary profession, now I get dolla dolla to my stealth techniques.

You can have two iron pistols for free. That makes your expenditure 300,000. Going to lag a flag down in the interim

Before I approve this, I think you lost 100k in the interim. You should have 200k instead of 100 k. Fix this and you're set

So that makes 3k sunk on firearms and another 2k to waste. Well, a free gun and more cheddar seems like a reasonable fix.

Is interim the new cool word around the bloc?

  • The clues and motives at the end of your history may be best moved elsewhere. The memory loss would fit in personality and the pistols in his clothing, though the nickname could either stay or be moved to achievements.
  • All of your pistols should go in weaponry.

Moved the pistols into a single position.

As for those clues and motives, I'd rather not move those. They are meant to be a quick reference for things that I don't want to disappear within my descriptions, even if they are inane tidbits - which is kind of the point. It's not even meant to inconvience, since we are allowed at least some freedom in how we flesh out the characters. So like, leaving it as is would be my sole request.

Just make sure to mention all of these things in their separate sections, and if you want to add that section as a summary for the most important things you want to be remembered about him, then sure you can keep it.

Edit: Also, in your weaponry section, I'm pretty sure you mean "single-shot pistols". lol

Welp, that's a compromise I can work with. So I've added a few sentences to the right spots. I'll quote them for convenience.

Here's the short-term memory thing:
Quote:

And the concealed firearms.
Quote:

The criminal uses these coats to conceal and hide his wide arsenal of firearms. He collects them on various spots on his body, including the waist, chest and hip. He tends to pad himself down on regular occassions, which has ingrained their positions into his mind.

Also, yeah... that's a typo.
