Perhaps it was good that Ryan arrived at Whiskey Peak as opposed to some other portion of the island. The fact that it had been left relatively untouched by all the mourning priests that infested the island 50 some years ago meant that it wasn't full of depressing pricks that would no doubt just end up pissing him off somehow. You know, trying to get him to mourn the dead with them, or help give someone a proper burial service, or tell him about their lord and savior After all, if he wanted to be preached at, he would have just stayed home in the holy land. He had heard enough lectures from his family and teachers to last him a lifetime, let alone a trip to an island covered in crosses and burial mounds. Perhaps he'd inevitably run into someone who would try to teach him a lesson, either literally or in the figurative sense as a way of saying, "I'm gonna beat the crap out of you." But for now, he wanted none of that bull crap, especially not so soon after he ran away from home. Speaking of which, this was a really odd place to drop off the son of a noble who paid quite handsomely, though he did suppose he mentioned that he didn't care where as long as it was close by. He wasn't the biggest fan of sea travel, though ironically he'd have to be doing a lot of hit now. How fitting. At any rate, this was about his second day on Cactus Island, and his first full one considering he had arrived sometime in the afternoon yesterday. Still, it was long enough to learn of these priests and to make plans to never interact with them what so ever. As he watched the sun rise on a new day (quite literally since it was very early in the morning), Ryan tossed one of his knives between his hands while he rocked back and forth in a chair out in front of a local bar. Why was he sitting here doing nothing? Not sure, really; mostly he was just waiting for something interesting to happen. And if nothing did.... well he could make something interesting happen, he supposed, hehe. |

Satori, after her strange interaction with the random marine from earlier and eating the nastiest fruit she'd ever tasted, was at a loss for what to do. She wanted to sail off this island but she didn't have the supplies to last a long trip and she didn't really have the money to buy them either. She could get a job maybe? Some kind of work where she could use her skill in cooking to get by would be nice. It seems that in the Grand Line her bounty was low enough to let her skim under the radar for the most part, but still she couldn't take too many risks. If she was going to get a job in the food industry, it'd have to be as far away from the overly public Cactithedral as possible. And that's how Satori found her way to Whiskey Peak. She had heard there was a bar up here hiring and that very few people came to visit it. Though she had no idea why people seemed to avoid this place... Oh well, maybe it just has a bad undeserved reputation? It can't be any worse than the mopey Cactithedral town. Satori had already paid her penance for her past sins, and she wasn't going to risk getting caught up in those negative emotions again. This island was bad for her health. Satori walked through the dusty street of Whiskey Peak before finally spotting the bar. Without much care she started walking towards it. She pulled her cloak tight to her body, giving off clear red flags to anyone with the right eyes that she had something to hide. It was a good thing her face had several new scars on it since her bounty poster was published. She doubted anyone here would recognize her. She really did get a lion's claw swipe across her face back on the Island of Rare animals, even if it wasn't a lion per se that did the swiping. Why had that island had such strange mutated creatures on it anyways? Satori's current attire was simple: jeans, a solid shirtsleeve button up blue shirt with a white beater underneath, and a long cloak pulled around her to help keep the sun off her as well as hide her a bit. For some reason bounty hunters always seemed to find her and recognize her wherever she went so you can't blame her on taking precautions. It was like those assholes had noses for bounties looking to keep on the down low. |

Now let's be clear here: Ryan wasn't necessarily the type of guy who kept his eyes out for even the most slightly unusual things. Typically he was rather laid back and didn't bother to look for such minute details in every day life, paying attention to specifics normally only when getting into combat of some sort or specifically on the look out for something. Lounging around and waiting for something interesting to happen was neither of these things, so while he still kept his eyes open and on the lookout for something of note, he wasn't exactly passing them over each individual person or anything like that. To try and pay so much attention to so many people took not only the skill to be able to take up such a task, but also the willpower to not get utterly bored out of your mind since, let's face it, it was an extremely dull task. So you have to excuse him if he wasn't exactly the most observant of people right now. But this one character: anyone who happened to set their eyes on them would know that something suspicious was afoot. They had a cloak brought up tightly around them as if they were trying to hide or something; it was kind of sad, really, because in an attempt to keep themselves under the radar, they were really just putting themselves on it. If this person was wanted, they would definitely be in trouble, for any Marine worth their weight in salt would pick up on these slight cues and investigate them immediately. Actually, could he have hit the nail on the head? Perhaps this individual was a wanted person and were trying to hide their face or appearance or something? Or maybe none of that and they were just trying to hide and smuggle some stolen goods? Whatever the reason, Ryan figured that it was at least worth looking into. After all, he had nothing better to do, and there was no way in hell he'd just keep on sitting around bored stiff while something interesting was just passing on by. Leaping out of his chair, he immediately sheathed his knife and proceeded to walk up towards the individual, though he didn't confront them. Rather he kept his footsteps light and simply followed them, though not too closely, as if he was just some other person going into bar for some reason or another. Of course if this person really was wanted, or at least were armed in some way, he would have to be ready for a potential scuffle if they realized they were being tailed, but hopefully there weren't that observant about what was going on behind them. |

OOC Satori drummed her fingertips together as she approached the entrance to the bar. It was an unconscious habit that she did out of nervousness. She could feel the eyes on her as she gently pressed on the swinging West Blue styled doors. Even if she put no force into it the doors seemed to slam open. Every person in that rat-hole looked up from their drinks for a moment to eye the newcomer but quickly went back to their drinks after realizing it was just a woman. It looks like she managed to escape recognition. That was good. With an air of relief, Satori approached the bar. The bartender, a beefy woman who had muscles bigger than most men and a head shinier than a cue ball, met Satori's eyes. They were unsettling. Satori swallowed hard as she held out a piece of paper. "Hello, my name's Satori... Th-there was a help wanted sign." Said the girl with a small tremor in her voice. The big bartender looked over Satori once, taking in everything about her. After a moment a smile spread across her face. "Yeh look tuff, little miss, but I dun' think yer tuff enuff to werk here", She punctuated her statement with a throaty laugh. The sheer volume of cigarettes it must have taken to produce a voice like that was staggering. "P-please Ma'am, I'm a good cook. I'm in desperate need of money." Pleaded Satori. "Ehh, I'll give yeh a try!" Said the large lady after a short pause as she slapped Satori on the back hard enough to nearly make the girl nearly fell over. "Really?" Exclaimed Satori in momentary shock. "Oy, don't ask questions ya wench-girl. Grab an apron and git tah wurk servin' drinks." Boomed the big woman. "Oh, and yeh call me Boss Carleen from now on." Satori grabbed an apron off the hanging rack behind the bar before Boss Carleen shoved a tray in her hands with several pints on top. "Take tha' tah table four." Satori didn't waste any time. |

Tch. Here this person had been getting his hopes up and it turns out that she was just some woman looking for a job at a bar. It didn't really explain the fact why she was holding her cloak so close to her as if trying to hide something, but perhaps she was just a shy person, which would be supported by the way she talked so quietly. Or maybe she was just fairly weak and didn't want to draw attention to herself and inadvertently get into an altercation of some sorts. Or a fight for those of you with noble-less education. Though the woman did note that she looked at least somewhat tough based on her appearance, which of course Ryan hadn't seen yet, but she still didn't seem to be tough enough for the people around here based on the woman's follow up comments. Still, did she really have to be strong to work at a place like this? What was this called anyways...... The Salty Spitoon? Huh, what a stupid name. At any rate, looks like Ryan was back to waiting for something interesting to happen. Sitting down on a bar stool, Ryan brought his fingers to his mouth and made a somewhat loud whistle to get the attention of the bartender. "Huh? Whadda ya want?" she said as she turned her attention to the ruby haired ex-noble. "A glass of ale," Ryan replied, not even throwing in one of those filler words like "please." "Say.... aren't you a little young to be drinking?" "Yes. Yes I am." The woman just shrugged and poured out a glass for Ryan and slid it over to him, leading the young man to drink a bit of it before putting it back down. He didn't even really like ale, to be honest; he just wanted to see if they'd actually serve him some. "Hey bub, you're in my seat." Ryan turned around to see a decently sized and muscular man with a rather scrubby and stubby beard, like a slightly overgrown five o'clock shadow. Ryan simply raised his eyebrow, not afraid of this beef tank. "I'm sorry; I didn't see your name on it." "Actually it is, right on the top." Lifting his butt just a bit as he looked down, Ryan saw the name "Logan" carved on to it. Well he'd be damned. "Alright, guess all that's left is to show me the deed?" "Err, the what?" "The deed! If something was deemed yours by simply writing your name on it, the world would be too chaotic. I need to see proper documentation that proves that you are in fact that rightful owner of this-" Ryan was interrupted by the sound of a sake bottle shattering. And then that broken bottle getting held up less than an inch away from his neck. "You sound like a smart ass, kid. I don't like smart asses. Now get out of my seat." Ryan simply laughed a bit more, his smile still there as if he truly didn't see this guy as a threat. "Or what, you gonna slice my throat open? Stain your precious seat with my blood while you suddenly have the Marines on you for killing some kid? I'd say, 'Don't make me laugh,' but it's too late for that!" The man gritted his teeth and looked around, aware of the bystanders and people watching, before he gritted his teeth, turned around and began to walk away. "Isn't he adorable?" Ryan commented to the bartender, which was probably not the smartest move on his part. The man stopped, turned around and raised the broken bottle high into the air. "You little shit!!!!!" |

Three minutes: the time it takes to cook a bowl of rice. Three minutes: the time it takes to run a half mile. Three minutes: the time it takes to solve a hard math problem. Three minutes: the length of a typical pop song. Three minutes is a length of time that governs a lot of things in the world, and it's also the amount of time it took since Satori started working before a fight broke out. It only took three minutes since she accepted the job before a pair of idiots were going for each other's throats. Satori wasn't frightened by the fight. She wasn't even amused like the rest of the bar. She was angry. She was steaming mad. Why did this kind of thing always happen around her? It was like she had a trouble magnet in her pocket! A red headed little shit was provoking a big musclebound man all over a chair. Their fight was over a fucking chair! If it was a simple fistfight Satori might have let it go, but the big guy smashed a bottle to make a makeshift shiv. With a very pointy weapon added into this there was no doubt someone was going to get hurt. As the large man raised the broken bottle into the air Satori grabbed his arm from behind. "That's enough!" Said the girl but she was promptly ignored as the big guy threw an elbow into her gut and knocked her back a bit. "Ooof!" Cried Satori as the wind was knocked out of her. She hit the floor hard and skidded into a nearby table, causing it to spill the drinks on top. There was a long quiet pause. Time seemed to stop for a moment. Everything was very still... Then, at the sound of a gunshot, a massive brawl broke out. Satori rolled away from the table as it collapsed from the weight of a fat man who had been thrown on it. She quickly popped up to her feet and began looking around, trying to get a clue about what she was supposed to do! Satori locked eyes with the bartender from across the room for a moment, but then the large woman continued beating the snot out of the ugly long-toothed fishman she had in a headlock. "Fuck..." Remarked the girl under her breath as she joined in on the fighting. OOC

Ryan's eyes piqued with interest once more. The girl he had tailed into the bar has stood up for him, or at the very least just didn't want a fight to break out. Cute, but kind of foolish and reckless if you ask him. Still, to try and stand up to and stop a big guy like that took guts, so he respected her for that, if only a little. Which means he wasn't necessarily happy about the guy elbowing her and knocking her back several feet. Manners where he came from were a tricky thing, since most of his family and other noble houses completely ignored doing the small, decent things most people would call "manners" and instead rode on their high horses, and Ryan wasn't exactly the type of guy who cared too much about them himself, but it looked like he might have to teach this Logan guy some of them. Besides, who didn't enjoy a generic bar fight sl? As the fight broke out around him, the big burly man seemed to regain his senses and swung down once more at Ryan's head. Yawning a bit, he simply pushed off his chair and evade the attack, causing the bottle to break even more as it slammed into the chair, leaving nothing left for the man to hold and instead just a bunch of glass shards. "My apologies, sir," he taunted. "You may have your seat back now. I'm sure you won't even notice the broken glass!" The man grew angry once more and yelled as he swung again at Ryan, though this time with just his fist. And to top it off, he anticipated that Ryan would try to dodge and was subtly picking up a stool with his other hand; as soon as he jumped away, he'd immediately swing at and clobber him with the chair. It would give his attack an extended reach that Ryan wouldn't expect possible and he would be caught completely by surprise!!! Unfortunately for Ryan, he did not see the man reach back to grab said chair and really would be caught by surprise by such an attack. Unfortunately for Logan, Ryan didn't exactly dodge as he predicted. Instead of leaping back and away, he instead stepped forward, eliminating any distance between the two. "What the-" The man exclaimed before he was cut off by the feeling of cold iron getting pressed up against his neck. "Not such a big and tough guy when you have a blade at your neck, are ya buddy? I wonder what would happen if my hand slipped a little...." Any sane onlooker would probably think Ryan was some blood thirsty mad man given his smile, but the youth had no such intentions on his mind. While the man was still stunned by what was happening, Ryan quickly raised his knee and slammed it straight into the man's crotch. Critical hit to the nads! Ryan grinned as he sheathed his knife, watching the man fall to the ground in pain. People who used their strength to bully their way into getting what they want weren't strong; that much was apparent when they were put into a life or death scenario and their lack of fighting prowess surfaced, just like what happened now with this Logan character. Such a man wasn't even worthy of having his blood spill and taint Ryan's knife, even if they were rather inexpensive things that he would probably replace as soon as he had enough money for a higher tier metal. A grin still on his face, Ryan began to scan his surroundings, looking for the girl who stepped in to try and stop the fight. He wanted to make sure she was doing alright and to thank her properly for being brave. Or was it idiotic? They kind of go hand in hand sometimes, don't they? |

Satori was quick to adapt. She slid down to a low stance and kept on her toes. She wasn't going to be taken by surprise again. Immediately she rolled forward to avoid a bar stool that was flying through the air. She popped to her feet at the end of the roll and began snaking through the crowd of burly brawlers. Eventually she found the furniture aficionado who was in the process of launching another four-legged missile into the fray. Rather than wait for the tubby upholstery chucking dirt farmer looking asshole to find another projectile, Satori quickly dove at him and drove her fist into his gut. His eyes popped a bit and his wooden teeth flew out of his mouth and firmly planted themselves into the ass-cheek of the biggest strongest looking man in the entire room. The super muscle man turned around slowly after yelping and pulling out the teeth. He locked eyes with the small girl standing next to a toothless collapsed man. ... "Sorry." The huge fellow responded by bellowing a yell before charging at Satori like a bull. He hit three men in this charge and every single one of them went off flying and crashing into walls. One of the men thrown off was smashed so hard into the ceiling he got stuck in it. "Shit shit shit shit!" Cried Satori as she ran at her top speed, hopping chairs and unconscious bodies littering the floors. The sound of the Incredible Bulk's wave of destruction behind her had her heart in her throat. Eventually Satori ran out of room... Literally. She came to the end of the room. The wall was all that stood between her and freedom from giant crushing man. Satori took a deep breath. It was do or die time. She pulled back her fist and coiled her upper body. Her knees were bent slightly and she looked like a shaolin monk in meditation. Then, with a sudden jerk of the body, she launched her fist into the wooden wall in an attempt to break it down. A loud thud and a searing pain took over Satori's ears and arm respectively. The wall was hardly dented and her knuckles were bleeding. Add all that to the fact that the bull of a muscle man was almost on her and the situation seemed hopeless. "Oh crap-baskets." |

Perhaps this was some sort of deus ex machina or something like that, but despite the fact that the bar was incredibly loud at this point and it was nigh impossible to distinguish sounds from another and pinpoint the location of a specific noise, the scream from the strongest guy in the room seemed to be that slight exception that made it "mostly impossible" instead of "completely impossible." Ryan's gaze snapped directly towards the man, figuring that he must be pretty pissed off about something to let out such a roar, and found out that he was heading straight towards..... oh hey, it's the girl he was looking for; that's great! Wait shit, no it's not; he's gonna flatten the chick. Now normally Ryan wouldn't care, as she probably had it coming, but he still wanted to thank her. Yeah, maybe she was unlucky for antagonizing the strongest guy in the room, but on the flip side, she was lucky that there was someone here who actually didn't want her to die. Yet. Who knew what she might do that might make Ryan question that desire to see her keep living. And besides, after he properly thanked her, he wouldn't have any reason to care about her anymore. Probably. Who knew what she might do that might make Ryan question whether or not she was still important. At any rate, enough thinking; it was time for action! Ryan ran after the girl, who in turn was running away from the big man, who was of course running himself, in an attempt to reach her before he did. And given his initial position and speed, it looked like he would reach her just in time. As she ran out of room to run and the man came hurtling towards her, Ryan leaped forward in a dive and tackled the lass, removing her from her predator's trajectory. He turned them around in mid air so that he ended up landing first, taking in the force of the impact instead of the girl. The guy was not so lucky, as he came to a halt after colliding with the wall. But not because he bounced off of it; he ran right through it, but the force of resistance from the wall as well as the debris was enough to topple him over. But enough of that; Ryan immediately let go of the girl and proceeded to get up onto his own two feet, not bothering to extend his hand to the girl even if she seemed to need it. Come on, he already saved her life; now he needed to help her up too? "You alright?" he asked in a unconcerned tone, as if he already knew the answer. OOC

The beast of a man was coming and there was no stopping this train. Satori did the only reasonable thing for a woman in this situation, she braced for impact. Jumping and curling herself into a ball, Satori minimized the surface area of her body while also bracing her arms in front of her to absorb the impact. It was a heat of the moment decision, and it proved to be beneficial. A sudden force hit the girl from the side and knocked her out of the behemoth's path. She watched, from the corner of her eye, as the muscle-bound beefcake slammed into and through the wall of the bar, falling into a pile of debris on the far side. Reaching her hand up to dab away some beads of sweat, Satori whistled a tune of relief. Her savior quickly stood up and asked if she was alright. Satori rocked backwards until her hands were touching the floor, then, like a spring, she launched herself to her feet. After assessing that no bodily harm had come to her, she dusted off and finally gave her savior a good once over. She was surprised to see the red-headed little shit who basically started this whole mess standing there. Perhaps he wasn't as much of an asshole as his hairstyle said he was? Either way, the girl offered a quick smile before replying. "I'm alright... Thanks, by the way. The name's Satori." Said the girl as her string of words slipped from one awkward sentence to another. Finally, after stating her name, she offered her hand to the fire-haired boy. Her master had always taught her to shake the hand of anyone and it will tell you everything about them. Her master was full of shit, but the habit was kind of ingrained into the girl by now. Unfortunately, it didn't seem Satori and her new friend had time to continue chit-chatting as the behemoth of a man quickly began groaning and slowly standing up from under the rubble he had created. Satori, being ever pragmatic and level headed, quickly jumped through the hole and planted her knee into the back of the giant's head, hopefully knocking him out for a bit longer this time. Now if only her knee didn't hurt... |

Seemed like the girl was alright, though it didn't really matter as soon as he got his own words of gratitude in. "Ryan. And I have you to thank too; it took guts to try to step in and stop that fight, as unsuccessful as it was." See, you can never give someone too much of a bone; backhanded compliments are a much better way to communicate with people! Anyways, like he said, her well being didn't really concern him anymore. Not like he was going to hurt her or anything, but he didn't care what happened to her as far as he concerned. Shaking her hand just to be nice, which was a rarity for the man depending on how you looked at things, Ryan proceeded to excuse himself. "Well I think I'll-" Whelp, looks like the mammoth was getting back up. You see, this is exactly what Ryan was hoping to avoid by leaving the situation; the guy probably still wanted to clobber the girl and he had already said his words of thanks, so he didn't want to get tied up in this anymore than he had to. For all he knew, the big guy was now holding a grudge against him for tackling the girl out of the way and letting him slam through the wall like that, and as strong as Ryan knew he was, he didn't want to pick a fight with a guy like that if there wasn't a reason to. But perhaps the tough guy wasn't so tough after all? Much to his surprise, the girl called Satori proceeded to knock him out with a blow to the back of the head before he could get back up. Or maybe she was just stronger than he thought? But if that's the case.... "Hey, if you could do that, why the hell were you running like hell earlier?" he said, actually genuinely confused as to why she'd act in such a way. Perhaps she wasn't strong at all and simply got a luck blow against him? |

Breathing hard, Satori looked cross-ways at the young man named Ryan. The look of disbelief on her face was so amazing several brawlers in the room stopped fighting one another to stare at it. She looked like fucking Nicholas Cage right then. "Stopping a giant man's charge is entirely different from hitting him on the back of the head after he was already on the ground... Are... Are you seriously that dense?" Her voice shook for a moment with both curiosity and humor. It was a rare moment, but it was oh so pleasurable. Satori certainly had no trouble knocking out the giant man once he had already, essentially, defeated himself... But in an outright fight could she have won? Possibly. The berserker was rather strong and fast... It would have certainly been an uphill battle. Still, the fact that Ryan seemed to think her capable of it made Satori feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The battle in the bar roared on and it seemed like more people were beginning to get involved. Things were escalating and that wasn't good... Escalations usually meant marines or other forms of police. Satori quickly snapped out of her dumbfounded Nicholas Cage face and changed her tone entirely. "Nevermind, we need to get out of here before this gets any worse..." Suddenly a loud whistle cut through the town. It was a train whistle. "They have trains on this island!?" Screamed Satori in confusion. "Fuck it, let's go!" Satori grabbed Ryan's hand and took off running through the convenient hole in the wall the giant fellow had made and made her way towards the sounds of the train. It came into view quickly, and it was picking up speed. They'd have to jump on it while it was moving, it seems, like some kind of old timey gangsters. Technically they didn't have to, but it would probably be cool if they did so Satori quickly decided she needed to board that train. OOC

Contrary to what you might think, Ryan didn't get upset or mad at the girl for taking such a tone with him. He honestly didn't even take offense to what she said, instead finding it rather amusing. "To the contrary, Miss Satori: if you had the knowledge of the body and strength to pull something like that off, then it would definitely be plausible for you to take him head on, or at least do something other than run and cower in fear. But that might just be me." There it was again, that dumb old smile of his. It was a little unsettling, but it never truly disappeared since his lips always seemed to curve up at least a bit, so guess people just got used to it over time. Anyways, this was the time where he would once again be ready to leave her and get on with his life, but the girl suddenly grabbed his hand and started to drag him away, almost rag-dolling him for comedic effect to a point. Eventually he managed to find his footing and began to run with her, deciding that even though he had absolutely no clue what she was doing, it was at least interesting and piqued his curiosity. And then it came into view: the train. He was actually legitimately surprised they had a train here since it seemed completely unnecessary, but guess it wasn't up to him; the narrators decided this a long time ago. Picking up speed himself, Ryan jumped onto an open car in the train and then promptly torqued his body in a way that swung/lifted Satori up and forward, in all likelihood getting her onto the car as well unless, for some reason, she decided to let go of his hand. |

Ryan was the first to climb aboard the roaring mass of machinery. The thundering clatter the wheels made as they traversed the track could put the fear of God into anyone. Still, Satori steeled her resolve and used Ryan's swing to launch herself onto the hulking monstrous multi-wheeled monster. Her hair whipped back with the wind and she felt a massive urge to yell at the top of her lungs. Not a yell of fear, mind you, but one of adventure and fun. Her heart was swollen with a strange euphoria. Her heart was racing as she grabbed the side of the rail-car and tried to pull herself higher. The metal was slick but her grip was iron. Satori reached the peak and rolled onto her knees once she reached the top of the car. There were passenger carts ahead, it seemed, so she'd only need to reach them for a more comfortable ride. She turned around to Ryan. "There are passenger cars up ahead. We can climb over the car roofs to get there!" Said Satori with a fun tone. She slowly turned around, laughing slightly, and then her body was nearly sheared in half by an overhanging sign. Luckily Satori had just enough time to duck underneath it, losing only a few strands of hair. Suddenly this little trek to the passenger cars felt quite a bit more dangerous. Still, Satori wasn't riding with the coal. So she began crawling forward across the train-car's roof. She felt a terrible dizziness whenever she gleaned over the edges. Why did she decide to do this again? Was she secretly insane and trying to kill herself? These questions were far too complex for her mind to think them at that moment. Instead her internal monologue was a series of "Fuck"s and "Shit"s. It seems Satori needs more training in order to keep her cool better under pressure. Her heart, booming in her chest like an automatic rifle, felt like it weighed 9000 lbs. She was genuinely terrified... But that wasn't the worst of it. No, the worst of it was the bugs. Her face was getting splattered with the things. This was truly hell. Satori, limp and nigh unresponsive, dripped into the nearest passenger car like a beaten puddle. She would probably be spitting out bugs for a week after this. |

Ryan was genuinely surprised that now Satori was starting to climb and investigate the train from on top. Not only that, but she seemed to be enjoying it extremely well, even going as far as letting out that loud yell and laughing a bit. This was some interesting girl he had ended up getting involved with, and quite frankly, he wanted to see what sort of trouble she'd end up getting herself into. After all, her luck would probably run out eventually if she kept doing such rash and dangerous things like this, or maybe she was just acting out of character or something. He didn't know; he didn't have an app to read detailing her entire personality or something! Ryan climbed up the car to follow her, though wow she seemed to gradually transition from throwing caution to the wind to being scared shitless, Ryan was just treating this like a casual stroll. Sure, it was a bit more difficult since he was fighting the wind and had to position his legs and body in such a way to minimize wind resistance and prevent himself from getting blown off, but otherwise he just walked forward in a crouched posture. He didn't even have to worry about the tiny insects flying about slamming into his face like his compatriot here; naturally they all missed him narrowly, seemingly soaring right past his cheeks and the rest of his body though in actuality he was the one doing the soaring. Eventually he arrived with Satori at the passenger cart, albeit he seemed to be in much better shape than her. In fact if anything, he felt a bit invigorated; nothing quite like testing your luck by placing yourself on the edge of life and being pushed towards the bottomless abyss of death to make you feel alive. With his same cheery, goofy grin as always, he leaned over his companion before speaking: "That was fun, wasn't it?" |
